Physique: Moonlight is noticeably taller than the average mare, but with an average build. Residence: Ponyville Occupation: Librarian Cutie mark: History: Moonlight dawn grew up in a small family, being an only child due to her parents never wanting to have another foal running around the house. Like herself, her parents were both unicorns who taught at a magic school. They’re work typically kept them pretty busy, so they were never really around while she was growing up. As a foal, she often had sitters watching over her every day of the week. This stopped when she got into her early teens. Around this age, Moonlight discovered that she had a fascination for swords and sword fighting. This interest turned into something more as she taught herself through books, as well as some careful practice, how to use a sword. Despite having magic, she preferred the more natural form of sword fighting. Other ponies found it odd for a unicorn to be using a sword that way and would often ask her, "Why not use you're magic?". This annoyed her, but she kept practicing the way she liked. One day had started off like any other; Moonlight woke up, made herself breakfast, then went out to find a quiet place to practice some new moves she learned in one of her books. On this day though, while practicing a particularly difficult move she had been trying to master, she finally got it right. She barely had a moment to celebrate her success as a white flash showed through the corner of her vision. Glancing back, she found that she had finally acquired her cutie mark. Moonlight thought she was dreaming at first. After all, most ponies got their cutie marks way before her, around grade school. For a while, she didn’t think she would ever get hers. She was absolutely thrilled about this and went home to tell her parents. However, when she got back home, they weren’t there. At first, she assumed they were still working and waited it out. One whole day came and went and there wasn’t any sign of them. Just to be sure, she decided to wait a little longer. No one came home. Moonlight was all alone. She searched the town, asking anypony if they had seen them, but nothing ever came back. It was like they just vanished into thin air. This left the young mare to start taking care of herself. Needing some way to support herself, she got a part-time job at the library. The ponies there knew her from how often she rented books about swords and were happy to bring her in. The ponies at school weren’t very forgiving, they would tease her about her parents being gone. It never really truly bothered her per say, but her heart would ache a little more every day as she waited for them to come home. Time went by like wind, and as she finally finished school, she gave up hope of her parents ever coming home. WIth that out of the way, she continued to run her life on her own, shaping herself into a smart and responsible mare. Although she accepted her parent’s disappearance, she never truly came to terms with it. Though rather social, she does her best to avoid the topic of family and gets nervous easily when it’s brought up. Character Personality: Moonlight is a smart, cunning, and brave mare. She isn’t cocky by any means, but likes to think that she can take on just about anything, but has a tendency to shy away when the topic of family is brought up. Aside from that, she’s typically a pleasure to be around. Character Summary: Moonlight is an only child that lost her parents at a young age. Rather than becoming crippled under the pressure of having to care for herself, she rose to the challenge and fought on to have the best life she could provide herself. She’s prove to be a reliable pony, capable of handling most situations. To this day, she still wonders where her parents are and if she’ll ever see them again.
