Oh, hello, I didn‘t see you there. Well, since you’re here, might as well introduce myself. I’m Zrin and I am definitely not roleplaying in my introduction post, I just think I’m funny; somehow.

 

The guide I have up in the other tab is telling ke to tell you about myself. Well, I’m a ‘musician’; I use that term very sparingly. I mostly just sit at the computer and make bleep bloops. I’m starting to work on a whole album if bleep bloops, maybe even two! Aside from that, I’m gonna go to school to become an electrician. My dream is to become that guy who constantly blows himself up on youtube, looks like a blast. I also really like roleplaying, like, a lot; maybe even alot. Though, this is my first time delving into MLP themed stuff. Everything I’ve done before now could fit into speculative fiction. 

 

I came across this website because I needed a fix of roleplaying; and I’ve recently become enamored by the show, so here I am. 

 

I was first exposed when my best friend started making an MLP AU for a roleplay. I’ve always enjoyed watching him worldbuild and make maps, and this was no different. Though, at the time, I was against doing the roleplay myself because I was a different person two weeks ago. He somehow persuaded me to watch the first two episodes. Afterwards, I was like, “one more, one more”. Now seven seasons and a movie later, I can safely say I’ve found my new obsession. 

 

Now, my favorite main cast pony has to be Pinkie. I really love how she isn’t unrealistically, ridiculously happy all the time like some other shows. It’s more of a realistic ebb and flow of emotion, and she sometimes gets sad, which in turn makes me sad. It’s so perfect. 

 

Now, my favorite character ever in the series/movie is Captain Celaeno. Why? Well, for one, burd; Two, burd pirate. There’s also quite a bit of overlap between fans of MLP and the furry community, and avians are my favorite species so it’s only a natural choice. ^v^

 

Now, I do have a few questions for y’all. I won’t lie, this place isn’t as ‘active’ as some other roleplay sites. So I’m curious, since I’m not a seasoned vet of MLP roleplaying, I am of standard roleplay though, how should I go about doing my first roleplay? Should I wait for a roleplay I like to pop up, or should I take the initiative and make my own roleplay? I’m just worried about screwing up some piece of lore because I have a problem with my memory. I’ve only gone through the show once, so I don’t really have all the details yet. 

 

Also, what’s the general tone of roleplay here? Is it upbeat most of the time? Are more serious, or even darker roleplays frowned upon? I’ll admit, I haven’t lurked here too long so I’m not sure.

Well, you could always start your first roleplay in the Free For All section (There is even a Crossover sub-section). If you want to get into a roleplay faster, you should start your own roleplay there. You also don't need to worry about lore in there since you can do anything as long as it's within the rules. 

There are serious and dark roleplays in the forum, but there is a certain line which cannot be crossed (check Content and Conduct before starting roleplays like this). 

 

World of Equestria is the section that has stricter rules, your OC should be able to fit in as if they are in the show. You'll be able to post there once you have an approved character application. Feel free to head there to polish up your knowledge about mlp lore.

I am more than positive you will enjoy your stay, to start off of course... You should probably read the site guidelines and protocols of RP before getting started. The rules are easy to follow and simply a way to allow everyone to have fun. Now, anypony is allowed to post a thread in the Free For All section without making a character application... This is where things may seem a bit confusing, but do not fret! A character application is basically a description of your OC or a character you would like to use in the World of Equestriaforum. In fact, they're not at all hard to make, here is a guide on how to make one and here is an example of one (As you can see in the comments of my thread, a Senior RP Staff or Moderator put an approval message, this is when you know you're all set for RP fun in the WoE section). As you can see, under your profile image it says "Member", once it says "RP Certified" like under my profile image, that is when you know you're set and ready to RP in the WoE section as well. Also! It may take a day or two for you to become RP Certified, for me, it took a bit longer and if you've been waiting a while, don't hesitate to contact staff... They're really nice and helpful!

 

Free For All- You do not need an approved application or be RP Certified, your OC can be anything you like... From an alicorn to some weird hybrid of a monster... It's all up to you!

World of Equestria- Your character has to be more realistic, here are some examples of animals your OC may be... Staff may ask for you to change a few things before they can approve it. If you want to use a pony or animal from the actual MLP show itself, you will also need to make an application for them... Here is a list of cast members from the show!

Crossovers- Want your pony in a video game, anime, show? Look no further! For here is where your pony can live in Narnia, maybe even the land of Ooo? Anything!

Multiverse- Basically a place for Alternate Universe's.

Out of Character Discussion- Now, they're two of these... One for the Free For All forum and one for WoE forum. Here, you can plan out your RP's, it's a great tool if there is more than you and another pony!

 

Don't forget to title for RP's with Open (If you're still welcoming more players), Closed (If you're no longer welcoming anyone else), Ask to Join (If someone would like to join, this title tells them to contact you for permission), or Sign up in OOC (This directs an interested pony to go to your thread in the Out of Character section to sign up... This basically means they will provide a description of the OC or character they would like to use... This is good for long-term RP's with a lot of players)

 

Now I know, this may seem really complicated but it isn't once you get the hang of it! I went through this process myself and now everything is going by like a piece of cake  

Already have OCs? You will need to make an application for them if you would like to use them in WoE as I stated above, although, you can freely use them in the Free For All forum without them being approved.

 

If you still feel lost about a certain forum, there is a description in small letters underneath the title!

 

You can make a character log to hold all your OC's and playable cast members, here is an example. Character sheets are the Free For All version of a character application, here is an example.
