[Solstice Heights] Run run run as fast as you can!

• • Kiff East had only ever been to Solstice Heights once, when he was a very young colt. It was the city surrounding Canterlot, the capital of Equestria and home of their Goddesses/Princesses Celestia and Luna. Though Kiff never understood how princesses ruled their world, and not the queen and king. Whomever they were, he had never even heard of there being a king or a queen! But that was all beside the point.
    Kiff had only ever been to Solstice Heights once, when he was a very young colt. As a mail pony, he got to travel between towns and visit the world of Equestria many times over and see the who and what was going on. But Solstice Heights was someplace that didn't often do dealings with tiny little Hoofington, his home town. Canterlot was royalty, so most of them had their own dragons, or birds, or even personal mail ponies! And most of them and many of Solstice Heights would only really be dealing with Hoofintgon if their family was there, or they were doing business with Seasaddle Bay.
    So not much mail ever came from Hoofington to Solstice. And if mail came from Solstice to Hoofington, well, then it was going the wrong way for Kiff to be taking a trip there now wasn't it? But he was here now, with a package to a hat store of some kind. In the streets of the very town that lead up to the capital, soaking it all in. It was big, it was bold, it was Solstice Heights!
    The young adult had seen many places, but he had not been so close to the capital. What would he do if he met the princesses?! What about meeting other royalty?! His hair wasn't combed, his hooves were muddy… really it made sense since he was running across the country all day and tended to skip taking roads and paths in favor to work on his uphill speed. That, and it was faster than taking the curvy bendy trails. You don't see Pegasus ponies turning and twisting do you?!
    Raising his knees high, head held higher, Kiff pranced through the streets with his mail bag on his back, eyes un-goggled and drinking in the sights.
    'Oy! Lass, wouldn' ya like to give a dashin' pony like meself a tour o' the place?' Kiff didn't know how to keep his mouth shut. As soon as he saw a blue and grey filly about his age with a butterfly cutie mark, his gums were flapping, trying to get himself a date. His accent, lain on thick and rang through the street like a bell. The pony he was talking too gave him a withering glare before turning away. The large orange male beside her stood taller, and started to stomp towards Kiff.
    OOPS! Must be a boyfriend! Realizing the trouble he was getting himself into, Kiff tore between two buildings and dove into the crowd, keeping his head low and his legs pumping. Thank Celestia for speed! Glancing over his shoulder, Kiff saw he had lost the orange brute of a pony. But he didn't watch where he was going as his attention was behind him, and he ran full-force into someone else that was in the crowd of Solstice Heights' street.
    'OOMPH!'
