Working the Kinks Out [Closed - PM for invite]

Fluttershy watched anxiously as the blue and the red pegusii ascended. The two did not seem interested in her wing calisthenics, and were going right into a distance flight. Rainbow Dash was never one for caution, no matter the warnings, and Tobias seemed to be getting caught up in her enthusiasm.

The yellow pegasus drifted through the air a bit until she found a good thermal. She used the rising column of air to gain altitude and follow the the two recuperating ponies. She knew she was still not a strong flyer, but she was working on it. The thermal made the altitude much easier to achieve without tiring herself out. If this was to be a 'long distance' flight like Rainbow had said, she'd need all her energy to keep up with the speedy mare.

She finally came abreast of the airborne pair, hoping that Rainbow Dash hadn't gotten impatient waiting for her. "Um, I'll follow you, if that's OK," she said to them.

For a several long moments, everything was fine. Better than fine - it was normal. Awesome. She lifted up on the thermals without even thinking, beating her wings to move faster, faster, impatiently lifting herself upwards. The wind in her face, brushing over her feathers, ruffling through her silken blue coat, was like everything was OK again. She forgot about Fluttershy, she forgot about Tobias - it was just her and the sky, like it always was. It was beckoning her to return, to caroom along the gulf screem, to play in and amongst the turbulant clouds, to tame it and to race it and to ride it ...

And then her wing spasmed, and she faltered and fell a bit. She winced, and recovered herself, straightening out again, and reminding herself what this was supposed to be. Slowly, she circled, waiting for the other two to catch up to her ... but inside, her heart ached. It had been days! DAYS since she'd hurt herself! And it still wasn't better! She wasn't back up to full strength! How long was it going to *take*?!

"Yeah, sure," she said in an off-handed manner to the other two. "Ready to go, all three of us!" Fine, she'd take it easy... but her wings better heal soon! She spread them wide and pointed her nose into the wind, taking long, slow, careful strokes of her wings, sure that they'd follow her...
