A windy storm

Whitehawke

I conceptualized this drawing today, and I HAD to finish it today as well, so I went for an experimental style of perspective as well as checking out some of the other brushes and how I could use them (see the clouds?). The mighty Pen tool was off-limits so there's no vector perfect stuff here.

I'm convinced my bamboo tablet is utterly useless, as none of its side functions work (such as the pressure sensitive pad).

I think I should try this experimental style more often, since it at least helps me find and understand more from Photoshop than my usual pen-only vector style does.

As for the drawing, there's a few things I screwed up (AJ's right foreleg is a little too far ahead.), but I think it's okay and usable for the next MlB.

(Also, AJ needs more solo love.)

I think its cool :) There's a lot of feeling to it, as in you can sorta feel how worried she is.

As for the technical stuff, I don't think AJ is the problem. Her leg might be a little out of place, but the big thing is that the barn is in a different perspective frame than Applejack. (I feel like the forward tip should be towering up above, while the back end shrinks away to the vanishing point more quickly, and perhaps the bottom edge is occluded by a hill or something, since the road disappears before it gets there.

As for the brushes, I highly recommend trying out the [ and ] keys to quickly change brush size. That makes things like shadows easier to manage when they're big diffuse looking things.

But all the technical stuff aside, I gets the mood across very strongly, so I shouldn't complain too much. :)
