Heart Throb

knight

New character I've been working on. I'm thinking either like...an apothecary owner/pharmacist.....or a seller of gothic-style gowns for ponies...*shrug* not sure yet.

Funny, that's the name of a G1 character...

I know. :3 I've been rewatching G1, actually. And I was like....what....is.....there is nothing 'heart-throbbing' about her. So....I figured this was the complete opposite.

i forget can ponys have dragon wings?

I guess I assumed yes, ever since 'Luna Eclipsed.' Unless by some strange reasoning the mods have deemed that only those two guards are that way. >_> Which I personally think is silly....

We've deemed (and been saying) that it was just a spell. They only have batwings at night, but during the day they may as well be Celestia's guards. They'll look the same as any other pony most of the time.

.....that is SILLY! :o Why would Luna cast a spell on them, if she wanted to make a good impression...? >_> Seems mighty fishy ta me. What would be so wrong with allowing them, anywho? It's not like they have any powers or anything.... *shrug*

She also used the Royal Canterlot Voice. I think she was doing her best to make a good impression.

As for why not allowing them... well, they definitely aren't common. We haven't seem them before or after Luna Eclipsed. If batwinged ponies were a thing (even after Luna Eclipsed), we'd probably highly consider them. But, they just aren't. So, in an effort to keep close to show canon and avoid mary-sueism, we decided shortly after the episode not to allow batwinged ponies.

We've had a few apps come through with them, and had to turn them away. The character design is neat, and is fine for a night guard spell... but it's definitely not a 24/7 thing.

I suspect that it is something similar to how all the guard ponies have the same color even though that would be statistically improbable for them to have the same coloration naturally. Some kind of magic that is part of the uniform or something.

That being said, I do love Egophiliac's Sunshine Smiles and Frolicsome Meadowlark, but its anyone's guess until they explain it in the show. And when you're not having to fit things into a setting, these kinds of creative designs are just plain fun. :)
