Additional note: I'm trying different techniques, such as in this case a pony lying in bed. I think I did ok with the outlines of the body under the covers, but I'm not really sure.

You don't want to outline the entire body or it looks vacuum sealed , maybe just shade the areas a little bit instead of flat out outlining them?
