  1. The impact didn't really hurt Chipper, though his robe would probably be butter-stained from now on. Popcorn, especially extra-buttery popcorn, has a smell all its own, and now it would be one of the many elements of the faintly feral aura that would hang around the young necromancer. Similarly victimized were the Archancellor's academic robe and mortarboard cap. Blueblood himself was sputtering and coughing, a stray kernel having flown into his open mouth and halfway down his windpipe. Slapping his chest with his hoof, he was able to eject the offending morsel, clearing his throat and blinking the butter out of his eyes. "I don't suppose, *hack-ahem*, that you have a good explanation for why you were running in the halls?" "We sure do sir!" Chipper practically saluted the bearer of authority with what was a rather unexpected reply. "My new friend Morning Glow over there let us know it was ruder to show up late than to run in the halls." He waved a hoof over to where the unicorn was casually attempting to sidle past Blueblood, offering a kernel to Caramel as she helped pick him up. "Is that so? Get back here young mare." His tone would not brook disobedience. Once the three offenders were arrayed in front of him, he would give them what would be the first lesson they'd learn in this school, formally. "While it is important to be polite, no one should expect ponies or anyone else to risk hurting themselves or others to uphold a point of etiquette. I don't want to see you tardy, but I'd rather you showed up late to class than have to be sent to the nurse's office. Your welfare takes priority, both for me and your teachers, is that clear? Good, please take your seats." Once the three offenders were let aside into the room, he would greet the last stragglers. "As it happens, we don't get a lot of new students at once, so you all are most of what we have. In any case, it is good to meet you. You don't have anything else scheduled today, so it really isn't much of an issue, I just don't want to take up too much of your day." He smiled at Candy Corn, taking up her papers. "Thank you, I shall give these a read and put them in their proper place soon." One so young as an acting guardian? Ponyville was a peaceful enough- actually, hm. The townsponies were nice, but the location was possibly cursed. "Good luck." Was all he could say, letting the rest of the corn family enter. Spearmint he recognized from his dossier photo, and he gave the colt a somewhat warmer smile. "Ah, you made it, good. Twilight told me to look out for you, Spearmint. You're in good hooves here." And that just left the trio of buckballers. "Hello there, I think you're the last of our new students this term. Please come in." And with that, he would close the door and go up to the podium. It was a long enough walk for the newcomers to acquaint themselves with those students already present.

  2. Caramel chuckled a bit at Candy’s comment, leading her big sister through the halls until they came upon the scene of the crash. Of course it was the two that had been charging down the hall, though she wasn’t entirely sure who the stallion covered in popcorn was. At least not until Candy started talking to him. Was he in charge around here? Probably, he looked like the pictures. In any case, as Candy talked to Blueblood, Caramel walked over to Chipper and Kettle, helping them both back onto their hooves and looking over when she heard her name.

  3. The last thing Hyper Drive remembered was waking up at five in the morning to go to Buckball tryouts, which were at 6am. Who has tryouts at 6am? Of course, this was the final practice before the school year started. Previously, there were two other practices the past two days. They were in the last afternoon. She lived in a house really close to the school, which was really nice. Hyper met her two best friends at the same time at the school's stadium, exactly at 5:45am where they did their warmups. Of course, this wouldn't have happened if Fruit Juice, Hyper's best earth pony friend, didn't literally beg on her knees to go to Twilight's Friendship School. The only reason they said yes was because Midnight Glory's parents said it would be a good opportunity to meet new friends, and not just stay in their little bubble. The three fillies still did just that, ignoring everypony else. They were either always fed up with their inside jokes, or focusing really hard on Buckball, because that's the main reason they bond so well. So, making the team was a huge goal the three little fillies had. They were all talented enough. Hyper Drive was an excellent flier for her age. Her spunky and positive attitude always helped her teammates out. Fruit Juice had amazing strength with her back legs, as she works on a fruit farm most of the time. And Midnight Glory was outstanding with magic. Her mother, who is a magic teacher, taught her many things about her horn. How to control magic, how to cast spells, all the good important stuff. She definitely wasn't a master, but magic was incredibly important to her. Showing off her magically abilities in a sport really made her content. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tryouts were well over at this point. Hyper, Juice, and Midnight were huddled together in a group, absolutely ecstatic because they made the Buckball team. The little blue pegasus was flying in tight circles around the group, yelling, "We did it! We did it! Woo!" They were all wearing their brand new uniforms. The little fillies felt really confident putting them on. Hyper Drive couldn't stop posing in the air with them. It made Midnight Glory laugh really hard. "We get it, Hyper. You look good," she said in her monotone voice. She still had a smirk on her face. Fruit Juice rolled her eyes, forgetting the time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An hour seem to pass as they giggled by themselves on the field. Hearing a loud bell, Juice immediately stood up. "No stinkin' way! We're gonna be late for orientatin'!" Hyper finally landed, trying to check the time somehow. "No way, mate! It's only been like half 'n hour since practice!" "Then why is there a bell ringin'? If we're late to orientatin', we're gonna be a laughin' stock! Even the pigs back home will hear 'bout it!" Midnight stayed silent for a moment, just to think. "I'm sure it was just the five minute bell. If so, we should start trotting over there." The three girls picked up their main luggage from the bench and made their way quickly over to the huge building. They all seemed to convince their families to live in the dorms because 'they needed the full experience'. There were for sure enough rooms for every creature that showed up, but they hoped they shared a room together. They came to a stop at the front doors, gawking at how beautiful the place looked. Midnight particularly thought the school was outstanding, making her horn bright up just a little in it's orange aura. The doors came open has she continued to stare. It was just so magical to her. But, she realized her friends already left her in the school, so she quickly ran into the building, shutting the loud doors behind her. Being in the building for the first time was breathtaking. Hyper couldn't help but throw herself into the air in excitement. "Holy Celestia. I've lived here just 'bout my whole life, and I've never seen anythin' like it." Her little aussie accent made her voice a little cuter than most, though she would never admit. "Ah know right? The nicest thing Ah've ever seen was seein' our whole fruit orchard bloomin'. The flowers on those trees were mighty beautiful." Juice's bright blue eyes become larger at the brightly lit room. Midnight couldn't help but walk around and look at all the walls. "I don't think any school in Equestria is like this." "Ah highly doubt it. Thank Celestia your momma said we should go here. Mah own Ma and Pa would never unless yours did," Juice responded, looking at the little unicorn with a large smile. Hyper Drive flew down next to her friends, looking around. "So- where's the buildin' we're supposed to be headin' too?" Suddenly there was a large thud to the left of them, making them all turn their heads around at the same time. It kind of sounded like a couple stray popcorn kernels fell to the ground too. Was it popcorn kernels? "What the hay was that?"

  4. Roleplay Type: WoE Name: Sundown Trail Gender: Male Age: Young Stallion Species: Areion Eye colour: Green - #71b74b Coat: Light gray - #cacaca Mane/Tail: Purple. He has thick wavy hair that he keeps in a masculine style. Some lone hairs stick up or out, giving him an unkempt appearance. - #563d94 Physique: Fit, but only enough to pass Royal Guard standards. Residence: Canterlot, although his work takes him all over Equestria. Occupation: An investigator in the Royal Equestrian Guard. Cutie Mark: A magnifying glass over a hoofprint, showing his talent for investigating and following clues. He received his cutie mark after finding a foal who was lost in the forest near the village where he grew up. Unique Traits: Sundown excels at following trails, whether they are physical trails in the countryside or metaphorical trails of evidence. He also has a basic competence in hoof-to-hoof combat from his Royal Guard training. History: Sundown was born to two Areion parents in a small Areion settlement in the Whitetail Wood. The Areions of his village were distrusting of other ponies and they shunned outside contact, preferring to keep to themselves and their own kind. The introvertedness of his village was a leftover from the bitterness felt from Luna’s banishment. Sundown was a curious foal, and he was fascinated by the other pony races. The Unicorn’s ability to cast amazing spells intrigued him, as well as the Earth Ponies’ innate connection with the earth and nature. He also was rapt at the Pegasi’s ability to control the weather, and he was amazed at how weather was a scheduled and regimented thing all over Equestria. Although other villagers looked down upon this fascination of his, Sundown’s parents supported his interest and bought him some books about the other pony races. The first time he met a non-Areion was when a group of Royal Guardsponies arrived in his village. Sundown gushed over the Guardsponies, he was finally able to meet the types of ponies he had read so much about! But then, he learned why the Guardsponies had come. They were a search party looking for a young filly who had gone missing in the Whitetail Wood, and they had come to the village to ask if anypony in the village had seen the missing filly. Sundown had not seen the missing filly, but he knew the area around the village like the back of his hoof, and he wanted to help. He went up to the pony in charge of the search party, a Royal Guard investigator named Looking Glass, and offered his help. At first, Looking Glass did not take Sundown seriously. What could this little colt who had not even gotten his cutie mark do to help a group of trained Royal Guardponies? But after receiving some childlike stubbornness and a couple pleas from Sundown, Looking Glass relented and let him come along. By following the trail left by the missing filly, Sundown was able to lead the search party right to her. Looking Glass was impressed, and said that Sundown would make a good detective one day. After arriving back in the village, Sundown found out that during the search he had received his cutie mark. Inspired by the Guardsponies who had come to his village, and their selflessness in searching for the missing foal, Sundown now knew what he wanted to do in life: join the Royal Guard. After finishing his final years of schooling, Sundown went to Canterlot to enlist. While in basic training, he stumbled across Looking Glass. Now a senior investigator for the Royal Guard, Looking Glass took Sundown under his wing and fast-tracked his investigative career. Sundown’s first assignment was serving as an assistant investigator under Looking Glass. After a couple productive years working as an assistant investigator, Sundown was promoted to a regular investigator and given his own cases to work on. He mostly likes to work on missing ponies cases, but sometimes he is assigned to investigate criminal cases. Character Personality: Well-meaning and polite, Sundown tries to put his best hoof forward whenever he meets somepony new. Although, he has a slight sarcastic streak. He has a strong sense of duty and likes to help other ponies. Sundown is a bright pony, and he has a knack for figuring things out. He isn’t “book smart”, so-to-speak, but he has a good intuition. He is a lover of puzzles and other types of brainteasers, his favorite of which to play is Sudoku. Despite his intelligence, Sundown is clumsy and can be a bit oblivious sometimes. Much to his own chagrin. Sundown likes to get up early so he can have more time to be out and be productive. However, since he is nocturnal, what is early for him is late evening for his non-nocturnal pony brethren. When angry, Sundown gets very snarky and confrontational. Sundown likes to be very forgiving, so it is not easy to get him upset. But, there are a couple things that push his buttons more than others. Character Summary: A somewhat clumsy, dutiful Areion detective whose disheveled exterior conceals a sharp and inquisitive mind.

  5. Moon Shadow sighed as she directed her shadow constructs to put some new displays out. They were the typical, cheap, looks much more valuable stuff that the few tourists that came through just ate up, nothing that was her real reason for her recent... 'Vacation'. That was reserved for the back rooms, and for those that she knew, or came recommended. She smirked as she thought of her recent acquisitions, but quickly had to return her thoughts to focusing on the constructs. Soon, everything was set up, and she dismissed them, letting them slink back into the corners to join the other shadows there. She made a quick loop around her store front, the displays and counters looking fine. Stopping at the door, she unlocked it, and flipped her sign, the simple chain crossing over itself as closed became open. She then headed back to her register, sitting on the stool, and a cheap paperback gothic romance, nearby just to pass the time. She didn't particularity like them, thinking they were drivel, but she had appearances to keep up. She took up the book, opened it, removed her bookmark, and waited for somepony to come in...

  6. Cool. The shop thread is open- Blaze just never posted a departing post. And the Expedition hasn't started in earnest yet. I kinda forgot for awhile that it was my turn, but with order restored, we could get the ball rolling properly again. Or start something entirely new, I'd you don't wanna do that anyway.

  7. A little late to the punch here, but may I interest you in an interaction with my nice little medicine mare? Well, she's not a medicine mare, per say, she's an alchemist, but her primary goal is to preserve life to the best of her ability. Her social circle hasn't expanded much, and I'd like to see how she interacts with other ponies and creatures. You can find an expedition she started here And the potion shop she runs is also open, if any of your characters feel like color shifting coats or potions that make you speak backwards :)-

  8. Hey all! I am getting ready to start an elite flying team, similar to the Wonderbolts, but with areions instead (I imaging bat ponies experience at least a little discrimination [y'know, because they inspire fear] and so would not be able to join the Wonderbolts or even the Reserves, not to mention all of the WB drills are during the day, when areion vision is decreased)! The name for the group I'm currently thinking of is the Shooting Stars, but if you have any ideas, please let me know! I'd love to hear them! Anyway, I'll be apping a member hopefully sometime today or tomorrow (4/26/21), but a flier without a team is just a flier. I'd love for someone else to take lead pony on the operation (kind of like Spitfire does), but I can do that if no one else wants to. Anyway, let me know if you're interested!!

  11. ~~~Aloe Blossom~~~ Aloe nodded in response when she heard Rose asked her to help find some conetail instead. She wasn't entirely sure what she was looking for, but that would easily be fixed when Rose found some of it. Them aloe would know what she's looking for and wouldn't have to ask about it. She herself began thinking about how fast hey life was changing. Just a couple months ago she was just continuing to run the spa without so much of a rest. Then Rose came into the spa, and everything changed. She was about to become a mother, the two had become quite close and we're doing almost everything together. Her thoughts were pulled back though as she heard Rose ask a very peculiar question, especially given her situation. Did she want to be a mother? She heard Rose explain the intrinsic nature of what it was like for her, being a changling queen an and if she didn't tend to her needs as such she'd get quiet irate and basically become a different pony, but also added that she know ponies often had a choice in those things. She thought hard about her answer, and then started speaking. "Motherhood for a pony is complicated. At the very core of every mare, yes. We want to be mothers. The gift of life and the bond that forms with that life before it even steps hoof into the world is irreplaceable. Most of the more mares my age put become a mother of because we often feel that we aren't ready. Most of the time we can barely handle taking care of ourselves, and we want to make sure our little ones have the most perfect worry free environment they can. Having the right stallion or the right book or potion for the mare on mare couples helps to," she said with a giggle. "As for myself, with this being my first o one... So I think I'm ready to be a mother? Honestly, no, but I'm going to make sure that I can do what I can for them and make sure that I and always here for them when they need me, and I can make myself be ready." "As for why I want to be a mom... Well... It's the same reason ponies seek others out to begin with. Love, compassion, companionship, and the knowing that you created the life that is running around you. That the glorious filly or colt running around came from inside you. I've been told that there's no feeling like it. I still don't know o if I'm ready for it or not, but I'm ready for us to find out together. Besides, were kinda past the point where we could go back. Not that I would even if we could. This is the path we walk now, so this is the road we will take. I know I for one... Couldn't be happier," Aloe replied.

  14. Chipper was right to assume that Spearmint was a given when it came to following him. However, he didn't strive to keep pace with him. Spearmint was moving at a quick trot in order to keep Chipper and Kettle within eyesight, but he wasn't full on galloping after them because while he wanted to get where they were going in a reasonable amount of time, he would rather not run into someone in the process. Case and point, running into the Archchancellor on your first day wasn't the worst thing that could happen... but running into the Archchancellor could be seen as a problem. While he wasn't going to speak up or defend the actions of his new friends because... well, they kind of brought it on themselves, he was at least polite enough to wait with them while they got a talking to.

  15. Scarlett raised an eyebrow as Rose seemed to address the non-invasive/non-lethal part to her and the stallion specifically. Well, she supposed it was fair, since they seemed to be the most combat-inclined of the group. The two shared a look briefly before focusing back in on the briefing. The pirate captain sighed at the new arrival’s entrance, shaking her head slightly as a black unicorn that had been idly smoking by the railing floated the ring back up in his magic. “Thanks, Marcen.” She said simply, the unicorn stallion giving a nod in return. “Welcome to my ship, I suppose. What do you do besides go on random explorations? If you can’t help the crew, stay out of the way once we get moving.” She added to the new mare, looking her over.
