  1. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ The apprehension was killing Sugar as she awaited Sunny's response. It had only been a couple seconds, but that could seconds felt like eternity as what felt like the weight of the world roll off of her. It would be a long while before she'd felt that she'd made up to Sunny, but hearing Sunny say that she never blamed her helped a lot. Sunny added that they were all raised to believe the lies that Canterlogic was spreading. That statement hit just a little closer to home than she woudl have liked, considering that she herself had played a role in propagating what they later found out as lies. That actually raised a major red flag for her too, almost as if she had just thought of something very important. what was Canterlogic going to do now that they didn't have to make questionable devices that may or may not actually do what they said they would do. If she was being honest, some of the items that might not be a bad thing. After all, the boots that were demonstrated in the event that Sunny crashed seemed like they were fastened to the ground. So yes, a pegasus could snatch you away, but you also couldn't move. She shook her head though. Today wasn't a day for such thoughts. These were important things that would need to be addressed, but today was about making new friends. She wasn't going to sully that by thinking about work at a time like this. When Sunny mentioned the friends that could fly around and float things, Sugar smiled. "I have to be honest here, I am still a teensy bit worried about that. Not from the ponies that you've brought here. I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't expecting to find a pegasus with wings as amazing as hers," she said pointing to Pipp's wings. "But those slight fears of the bad ones that could do the things that we are scared about, are lessened by the hope that the ponies that are generous, kind, and friendly will help protect us from the mean ones, should they ever arise," Sugar said before turning to one of the other newcomers. This pony was an Earth Pony, but at the same time Sugar never remembered seeing him before. She heard him introduce himself to Sunny as Allegro. She vaguely recognized the name. Not because she thought that she might have known the pony, but she knew that she had heard that term somewhere before, but couldn't picture where right off the top of her head. He thanked Sunny for inviting him and went on to say that he wanted to check up on everypony cause the manifest at the harbor didn't say anything about a captain about the vessel, so he wanted to make sure everything was okay. Sugar was going to say something in response, before the mention of the lighthouse stopped her dead in her tracks. She shuddered instantly as she remembered the entirety of what had happened just a few days before and how absolutely terrified that Maretime Bay had lost probably the most caring pony in the city. It was Sunny after all, that extended the first hoof of friendship to the other races, and brought them back together. That alone is a testament to how much she cared about everypony. Of course, if Sugar felt this bad from just having watched the lighthouse fall, she knew it had to be a million times worse for Sunny. Not only was that her home, but she was inside of it when it fell. That did bring up something though that Sugar did want to bring up at some point. "The... Lighthouse probably isn't a good thing to bring up right now... Though, while we're on the... touchy subject..." Sugar Started. "If you need a place to stay while the lighthouse is being rebuilt, I have an extra room. It's the least that I can do to help," she said to Sunny, still shuddering a bit from the memories of the other day. It was at that point the Pegasus spoke up and she became fixated on her. She wasn't sure what it was, but there was definitely an alluring appeal to her. Okay, she was lying, she knew exactly what it was. Those wings were so fluffy! She couldn't help but imagine what one of them might feel like wrapped around her. She quickly shook her head though at the though. She thanked them all for coming, and at the risk of saying something that would be completely off or inappropriate, Sugar kept her mouth shut. One thing that she knew though, she was very much hoping to get to know the pegasus mare more. She watched her descend below deck. She wanted to follow her down but wasn't sure if she should yet. She decided to let the mare have a bit of space for now. This was going to be a long boat ride after all, so they'd have plenty of time to talk. She was also interested in the other unicorn that was with them that had been rather silent up to this point. That wasn't a bad thing though. After all, she wasn't exactly super talkative at the moment either, so she couldn't fault her for it. It did kinda feel like everypony was walking on Eggshells though, she started trying to think of a way that she could lighten the mood. Hopefully though somepony else would beat her to that.

  2. The theatrics and banter of the guard's voice entertained the crowd. And with the added intrigue of a classmate of the queen's niece at the School of Friend that was began by Princess Twilight Sparkle, the audience began clamoring with chatter and suspense. The shakiness of the griffon's voice could be heard, but was mostly drowned out by the sheer fact a griffon had approached as a challenger, his bond with the royal niece notwithstanding. Silverstream giggled. "Oh, yes. He's with me. Oh! Also, he told me once he is a fierce flyer, one of the most vicious from Griffonstone, and can beat anygriff in an air joust!" Silverstream played along with the guard, building up the atmosphere of the festival. Silverstream knew it would be a fun experience for Gallus, but she had no idea they would give him this personal of an experience right from the start! A large hippogriff wearing heavy black armor landed near the guard. His armor covered most of his chest, and all of his head. His helmet had a vent that allowed the hippogriff knight to breathe and speak. In an chambered voice, the hippogriff growled up. "If this is the best the griffons have to offer, then allow me to counter his challenge." The strong hippogriff turned to the guard. "If you will allow me the privilege to defend Mount Aris from this foreign threat, it would be an honor." The mysterious hippogriff stood still and obedient, awaiting the guard's projected decision. Silverstream started tapping her talons together with excited anticipation.

  3. Heehee, Zappers was talking to a gi-i-i-rl! Ambrosia didn't really grasp the full significance of what that meant, and Zap Apple probably didn't either. He was still smack dab in the middle of the "cooties" phase of intergender relations. But that wouldn't stop his little sister from teasing him! "Was the zee-ba pretty, Zappers?" She gave him a look that suggested butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. At the first mention of bon-bons, though, all delicacy and grace momentarily left Amby, and she revered to her country heritage, diving headfirst into the bag, emerging with a chocolate-smeared muzzle and a happy, full-cheeked expression on her face. Was that only one bonbon in there? Who knew? She wasn't telling. All she knew was that they were on their way to Carousel Boutique, one of her favorite places in the whole wide world! She'd cheer- after swallowing her treat. Don't talk with your mouthful, Rarity didn't like that!

  4. It was hard to put into words the affections that a mare like Rara could feel. There were simply so many, and each one held a special place in her heart. There was the love she felt with her family, a familial joviality and well-meaning that felt as pure as a radiant sun. There was the energetic affection she shared with the crowd, her fans, at every show. She gave of herself to them every time and bared herself to them through song and performance. The emotional gamut she ran through in her songs were glimpses into her that she gave them, and their joy with her sustained her creative momentum. There was the affection she had with her coworkers, the affection she had for those she met in-pony. Then there was Applejack and the affection that Rara had for her, which was the scariest one of all for it cut deeper in ways that she had rarely felt leave to experience. "Applejack..." she began as her friend drew in close. She allowed a hoof to linger on Applejack's cheek for a moment as her eyes locked in, almost teary. But then she pulled away, smiling as she tried to maintain a sense of decorum. At least as much as she could "Thank you. This means a lot," she whispered before fighting to regain a normal sense of boundaries. She bounded back into the hallway, tail bouncing joyfully behind her as she bounded deeper into the house. "And I think when we're done, you'll thank me too!" She said with a laugh. Lower, to herself though, all she could muster was, "well, I hope you will."

  5. Applejack smiled as best she could when she saw her son through eyes that moment by moment a desperate battle between becoming more entrenched in anguish and clearing up. It was one fight she was sure to win in the long term and loathe fighting in the short, but for all that and ten bits more she was happy to have her son back. "There you are, Zap. Havin' fun?" She asked she she picked him up and put him on her back. In time as was custom she was sure he would crawl his way back over her form and into the cart to be by his sister, even as he asked a question. "Not yet. Got a lot of business left ta attend ta!" She said with a self-assured smirk. She knew that was not an answer he wanted to hear but it felt good to slow his roll, at least for now. He knew what the day and di and did not have in store, or at least he thought he did. At least he thought he did. "Oh, by tha way. From one of tha vendors Ah got tha both of you somethin' ta snack on. Blue bag," she said absent-mindedly before remembering that too many bonbons too quickly would ruin plans for later. "One each for now. Save some for later! On to Carousel Boutique!" She said confidently, trying to blink away the pain as bests he could as she trotted gainfully deeper into town.

  6. Silverstream bumped him an soon had his attentions given over to the prospect of joining the festivities. He had so very little interest in it, but was trying his best to safe beak in front of her. He looked around for a good reason to not volunteer. "Oh, me? I'm-" he began, not realizing that he had raised his talon to point to himself. The scanning guard turned jousting enthusiast saw this and took it as the worst possible sign. "Oh, looks like we have a volunteer!" He yelled out, and the crowd parted slightly. That left Gallus and Silverstream as the 'stars' of the moment. Gallus looked around, knowing what he had to do to not lose face and hating every moment of it. "...Yeah. I mean, yes! I'd love to!" He lied loudly, puffing out his chest and flaring out his wings in a display that would be impressive were he not surrounded by older hippogriffs. The guard reached down and pulled him up and into the sky, where Gallus hovered in great anxiety. "Great! Haha, what courage! Tell us, who are you?" The guard asked, his booming voice displaying for all to see just quite how much of a disparity existed between this fit, tone guard and the only-recently well fed bastard griffon. For all of that though Gallus wasn't going to let them know he was born in Griffonstone. He didn't even consider that place his home, not anymore. "I'm Gallus. Gallus from the School of Friendship," he said with as much pride as he could muster, trying to maintain the front as best he could. Some of the crowd murmured in understanding, not that it came as a shock. Anygriff with eyes could see he had been traveling with Silverstream, and the Princess had been at the School of Friendship herself. It all clicked easily in the minds of many. Rumors would spread. "And does this foreign friend of yours have your consent, Princess?" The Guard asked playfully. Gallus had volunteered, but it was going to be fun to needle the volunteer regardless. Behind him, Gallus' smile was wide, strained, and pleading.
