  1. Bows her head to him as she moves through the open door, a little spring in her step even as she was careful where she trod, "you have a good day now too!"
  2. She would nod her head softly as a collection of coins would float from a hidden pocket in the mid section of her scarf, settling them onto his desk gently and in a neat pile, oblivious as to whether or not she was getting a good price or not, just assuming that such a nice pony wouldn't be trying to extort her at all. Melody then looked up at the paper floating before her, using her own magic to take it, running her eyes over it briefly before rolling it up and tucking it away. She then flicked her mane back a little and shot him a joyous smile, "Thank you for your kind words Mister Bristle, and for your time, it has been very informative, I'm sure that if I need anything on the legal front in the future then you'll see me again. Oh and be sure that I will tell my friends about your wonderful friendly service here."
  3. Melody stood there, her eyes widening a little bit as she tried to take in everything he was saying to her, listening to every word and understanding most of it. When he was done she simply stood there for a moment, softly rocking on her hooves as she bit her tongue. "Wow," she started, "I honestly had no idea that it was this involved. I'm really going to have to start pushing myself to better understand theses aspects of my profession. And here was me thinking it would be relativly easy. I mean I dont have a manager, even less so my own solicitor. I guess I should head down those roads before I go any further with my music." She then shook her head a little bit and gave a bright smile, "thank you Mister Bristle, you've been most informative today. Um, how much do I owe for your time?"
  4. Melody bounced a little bit on the spot as her smile returned, then coughed and steadied herself again as she regained a little composure, "well as I said before I'm a singer and as such I've penned a fair few songs that have yet to be sung in an form and I was wondering if I would be needing to copyright lyrics or anything like that, and if so then how I would go about doing such a thing. I'm afraid I have no manager at present and am not very knowledgeable about legal matters of such things." This was a bit of an understatement really, she barely had the first clue about any sort of legal matters in her work, but perhaps this was about to change for the better.
  5. Her eyes shot back to the pony in front of her as he asked her another question, this one much easier for her to answer, "Oh, I tend to go on many excursions through the city, especially of late with the weather turning. I'm a singer you see and I like to find my inspiration from my surroundings and not just from my own imagination." She then paused for a moment as though something popped into her head and a large smile moved across her face, "Mister Bristle, I need advice on....um....how do you put it......copyrighting intellectual property? Is that something an attoney could do?" Her smile faded a little bit as she asked that question, suddenly unsure if she's even asked the right thing, her knowledge of legal matters being rather limited in fact.
  6. "Oh, where are my manors?" the mare said as she stepped towards the desk now, "My name is Melody Night." She bowed her head a little bit to him as she smiled softly, eyes moving around the room for a moment again. She then paused for a moment as she was about to answer is question, realising that she hadn't actually come in here with a purpose in mind other than to find out what was inside. She knew now that this was an attorney's office, but she was still at a bit of a loss of what to do. "Come on Melody, you need to buy yourself a little time to think.....think, think think," she thought to herself, but smiled as she came up with something. "Well Mister Bristle, might I ask what exactly is it you specialise in? Or do you take any kind of legal work right now?" she asked, stalling the conversation while she tried to think of something that she actually might ask of an attorney.
  7. The sun was up but the air was still rather cold as Melody walked through the busy streets of Phillydelphia on one of her usual "inspirational" wanders. A dull black scarf was wrapped around her neck in an attempt to stave off most of the day's brisk air. As she made her way through the northern parts, the young mare slowed and the stopped in front of a building that she had never really noticed before that seemed to be sporting a new sign out front, leading her to believe that it might in fact be brand new. She tilted her head to the side a little as she read the sign, not quite sure what to make of it which only served to increase her curiosity about the place. Shaking out her mane a little bit she slowly poked her head into the doorway just in time to hear a defeated cry from inside, causing her to jump a little bit and back up again, taking a few moments before stepping all the way inside. Her eyes moved around the room slowly until they fell on the well dressed pony at a desk to whome she smiled softly, "Oh good day sir," she spoke up, "I hope you dont mind the intrusion, I was just passing by and had to some inside as I have to say I've never noticed this place before."
  8. Melody tilted her head a little bit as she looked over the wagon, keeping her ears open to the conversations happening around her, glancing back towards the carpet of antiques as the pegasus pony went back to it and uncovered her wares. She almost turned towards it until he heard the light blue unicorn address the small crowd. "Oh excuse me, um, I'm looking for something," she piped up after stepping forwards a little bit, "something with a little bit of history to it, or maybe a story behind it's aquisition. I love hearing about things like that." The mare always collected both items and stories to act as inspiration for her future projects.
  9. (OOC: Hope it's ok if I slip in as well, and please bear with me as this'll be my first RP post on the site) Melody Night slowly emerged from her home on the outskirts of the town, giving off a gentle yawn and a stretch as she looked up into the sky and thinking it to be a fine day indeed. She considered for a moment where she should start her day, but there was only one place it could be. The marketplace. The young mare set off at once, trotting towards the marketplace, a place she lived going to to see and listen to all the vendors and traders that stopped by. Her long, red mane seemed to shine under the day's sun, a contrast to her slate grey coat. Upon arriving at the market, Melody began to browse the stalls, stopping for a moment at a carpet covered with old objects and a sign claiming them as antiques, but to her sadness a sign also claiming the shop closed turned her away. Instead she headed slowly towards a vendor with a large group of ponies around it all talking. She leaned around a little try an glance at the wares being sold while quietly keeping her ears on the conversations.
  10. Your point is well taken and I've moved her to the outskirts of Phillydelphia where I'm sure she'll be just as happy
  11. Made a few alterations and additions as advised. Also Ponyville was chosen for it's location as a small and quiet rural town, perfect for Melody, not wanting to live in a big city.
  12. Name:Melody Night Sex:Female Age:Young mare Species:Unicorn Coat Color:Slatey dull grey Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style:Mane colour is a deep red in colour, long and straight over both sides of her head with the left side brushed back so that her right eye is usually covered but left eyes exposed. Her tail is the same slatey grey as her body but with one red stripe running from base to tip along the top. She sometimes styles her hooves in black when performing. Eye Color:Vibrant pink Cutie Mark:Grey and black microphone Physique:Slightly short for her age and on the slightly larger side of an average build Origin:The town of Solstice Heights was where Melody was born and raised until she finished school at which point she moved away to Pillydelphia where she currently resides Roleplay Type:Mane Equestria Roleplay Occupation:Gothic rock/Classical singer Motivation:After gaining her cutie mark during a talent show, Melody made it her ambition to entertain as many ponies as she could with songs written by herself. Likes: Listening to music, singing, making people smile and cupcakes Dislikes: Rudeness, unhappyness Character Summary:Melody's personality is friendly, happy but slightly shy when directly talking to others and tends to stay quiet unless spoken to or until you get to know her. She is more likely to retreat and avoid confrontation than engage and overcome. As a young foal, Melody began to mimic songs that she heard and when she was of age her parents sent her to a music school to see if her singing talent would develop. A few months after starting Melody took part in a talent show where the students all showed off what they had learned and after a nervous start she wowed the crowd with a beautiful song after which her cutie mark appeared showing that she was on the path she was meant to take. After that night Melody said that she would to whatever it took to graduate and go out into the world and perform in front of crowds of ponies and make them smile. When she told her parents of her dreams they simply smiled and nodded, saying that they knew from the first time they had heard her sing that she would grow up to become a wonderful entertainer, and that night had only reinforced their beliefs. With a reinforced look on her life, Melody went on to graduate and move out on her own, a decision supported by her parents who saw her determination to excel at what she was good at and wanted her to be happy in doing it. Wanting to find herself a quiet place to reside in, Melody moved to the town of Phillydelphia where she currently resides in a small house on the very outskirts, away from the noise and bustle of daily life. Phillydelphia was her choice due to its links with both small town and large city, increasing its throughfair of ponies and increasing the various stories she could hear and sights she could see, all adding to her pot of inspiration
