  1. I'll take a look at the creatures compendium and get back to you. I can app a character that would be perfect for this : ) do you care what race characters are?
  2. Hey all! I am getting ready to start an elite flying team, similar to the Wonderbolts, but with areions instead (I imaging bat ponies experience at least a little discrimination [y'know, because they inspire fear] and so would not be able to join the Wonderbolts or even the Reserves, not to mention all of the WB drills are during the day, when areion vision is decreased)! The name for the group I'm currently thinking of is the Shooting Stars, but if you have any ideas, please let me know! I'd love to hear them! Anyway, I'll be apping a member hopefully sometime today or tomorrow (4/26/21), but a flier without a team is just a flier. I'd love for someone else to take lead pony on the operation (kind of like Spitfire does), but I can do that if no one else wants to. Anyway, let me know if you're interested!!
  3. "Oh, that makes more sense!" Cloudy said in response to Windy's reasoning for not eating entire pies. She agreed that the ponies here looked a lot nicer. No one even commented on the fact that she wasn't looking where she was going (which usually happened in high-class places like this). When the waitress told her heartwarming story about her brother, Cloudy was touched. "Wow! That's amazing!" She blushed hard at Windy's remarks about her being amazing and being responsible for most of the cloud structures. She flusteredly replied, "Well, uh, I don't know about that hahaha! The machines I work on produce weather clouds. Architectural clouds come out of a different factory and tend to be of a much higher quality and grade, so they require a lot heavier duty machines, which I don't work on. Not that I couldn't, because I totally could, but they're a hassle because they have to produce such sturdy, well, clouds, obviously, and so they tend to break down more often, need more oiling, require more electricity, y'know, the works. I'd forget half of the stuff I was supposed to do on them! Well, ok, maybe not, I mean, I never need a list when it comes to the cloud machines at the factory, but who knows, maybe for a more complicated design, I'd--" she stopped short when she noticed the waitress staring blankly at her, then blushed again as she resisted the urge to apologize. The waitress continued, finally filling the awkward silence and making some drink recommendations. "Um, if it's ok, I think I'll just have a glass of water hahaha," she said. She needed to make sure she had enough bits to watch the show tonight, and besides, she almost never ordered anything besides water at restaurants. Other drinks were always overpriced and she wasn't willing to sacrifice. As the waitress left, Cloudy buried her face in her menu. Ugh! She needed to pull herself together! She wasn't used to the attention that came with spending a day with a celebrity! The closest she'd ever gotten to this was when she got her Wonderbolts shirt signed, and then she was just another face in a crowd of adoring fans. Now this superstar was her friend, and if she understood correctly, Cloudy was her friend too! It was a lot to take in. She read the salad options.
  4. "Good thinking. You'll want to be on your best for that race. And speaking of races... I'm ok if we race to a cafe! Hahaha" They trotted out onto the street and Cloudy immediately began searching the buildings for restaurant signs. "If you don't mind, I'd like to avoid restaurant row if we can... The food there, uh... Doesn't agree with me hahaha" And by "doesn't agree with me," she quietly meant, "is out of my price range." Cloudy wasn't poor, but fixing cloud machines wasn't exactly the highest paying job in Cloudsdale. She saved her bits for trips like these and kept a strict budget. That way she didn't end up starving on the last day because she bought too many souvenirs (of course, it had been a situation exactly like that one that had taught her about budgeting)! "So what are you in the mood for? I don't really mind where we go. At this point, I'd settle for a hayburger or a daisy sandwich!"
  5. "Ok! Sounds like fun! Only why don't we --" she was going to say "fly around instead," but then remembered her new friend's wing injury. "Oh! How is your wing doing??" She started towards the door as she listened to his response.

  7. Roleplay Type: WoE Name: Sigma Sum, Alias Tangent Line Gender: Female Age: Mare Species: Unicorn Eye colour: Golden yellow Coat: Scarlett (think Big Mac) Mane/Tail: Auburn Physique: Pretty much the standard physique Residence: Manehattan Occupation: Secret agent of the Secret Monster Intelligence League of Equestria (S.M.I.L.E.) Cutie Mark: Sigma’s cutie mark is the sigma notation. As a filly, she was always enamored by mathematics, but it wasn’t until she got her calculus test back with an A+ on it that she realized her destiny and earned her cutie mark (the calculus test was significant because it was three grade levels higher than the rest of her class at the time). Unique Traits: As a trained agent, Sigma has picked up several skills along the way. She has learned some standard issue S.M.I.L.E. spells, including the spell which alters memories using a hoof mirror and a spell that can change the color of a pony’s coat. She was trained before the transformation of the changeling hive, and so was taught how to spot them, which makes her a good lie detector and judge of character. Though she does have some more difficulty with blending into social situations than other agents, she is still above average at it compared to other ponies. History: Sigma was born in Trottingham and lived a fairly normal childhood, making friends and attending school. Her parents enjoyed an adventurous lifestyle with her, taking her camping and exploring every chance they got. The areas they went seemed to be dangerous enough that most other ponies would turn away, but her mother and father were always able to keep a safe camp ground regardless of the circumstances. Her mother, a unicorn, had her cutie mark in animal handling (she worked at the Trottingham zoo) and her father, a pegasus, was able to fight off anything his wife couldn’t tame (his cutie mark was in boxing). Naturally, both of her parents were surprised when Sigma’s cutie mark was mathematics. They had expected (and slightly hoped) that it would be something… less book-related. But they were proud of her nonetheless. Sigma’s best friend growing up was a mare named Cozy Joy. Cozy often foalsat for her parents when they would go away on “business trips,” something she never understood, as neither of them worked at professional companies, and she was always invited to watch her father compete. When she got her cutie mark, the business trips abruptly ended, meaning she had less time to spend with Cozy Joy, but they remained friends anyway. As a mare, she moved to Baltimare to pursue a degree in mathematics. She worked on the production team at a factory doing calculations for better, cleaner airships until she received said degree, at which point she moved back to Trottingham to be closer to her parents. Her mother was feeling exceptionally fatigued, and she wanted to help out in any way she could. She worked in building design there to support herself and help her parents. Disaster struck a week before her birthday, when she left work early on an urgent summons from Trottingham General Hospital. A bear had fatally wounded her. She survived in the hospital for only a few hours before passing. Several weeks after her mother’s sudden death, her father called her home. He said she deserved to know the truth of the situation - the truth that not even those who had witnessed it happening knew. He said it wasn’t a bear that had killed her mother. He said she had been attacked by a changeling posing as a bear. It had been leaching love off of her since before Sigma had moved home, explaining the fatigue her mother felt. During a show, the appreciation from the crowd caused it to enter a feeding frenzy and it gored her mother before it could be contained. Her mother had put up a valiant fight against it, however, leaving it wounded for when S.M.I.L.E. agents arrived. This was where he lost Sigma. Why didn’t anyone tell her that to begin with? What was a S.M.I.L.E. agent? What did he mean “The truth that not even those who had witnessed it happening knew?” He explained that her mother and he were once part of a secret organization tasked with containing Equestria’s most fearsome monsters. They frequently were called on missions all over Equestria. Some of the less dangerous ones they were able to take her with them on. Her mother would always wipe Sigma’s memory of the mission itself after it was over, leaving her only memories of camping and fun. On more dangerous ones, they had to leave her home. But when Sigma got her cutie mark and they weren’t there to see it, they knew they were missing out on their daughter’s life, and decided to resign so they could be there to watch her grow up. After some pressure, her father also told her about S.M.I.L.E. She was intrigued, but vowed never to tell anyone what he told her. After her father passed away, she decided to join the organization, mostly to avenge her mother. She tracked down a hidequarters using her parents’ journals and demanded admission. The head agent of the branch liked her spirit, and she was signed on immediately. Her death was faked, and her name erased. She was no longer known as Sigma Sum. She was officially Agent Tangent Line. Training was rigorous, but with her intellect, she excelled quickly at operations of insertion. She was able to use her math skills to make speedy descents and chart the fastest routes. Athletic tests, however, took much more time. She started at a desk job, but after more training, proved her worth as a field agent and was partnered with a Clydesdale senior officer, from whom she learned much. When her senior officer retired, she was left partnerless for a time. The solution to this problem came unexpectedly when she was called on an emergency mission to run trauma control on an Ursa Major attack on the Friendship Express. It was a good exercise for her magic practice, as she had to teleport into the field and use stun spells to neutralize it. She was distracted at one point by an agent who dove into the burning train with an injured leg and no vest. He showed true bravery. She hoped she could be an agent like him someday. She was surprised, however, to find out as she was helping with “detraumatization” (altering memories so that the ponies wouldn’t suffer any lasting psychological damage from the attack) that this pony was not an agent at all. He was just a very noble bystander. She sadly prepared to cast the spell with her hoof mirror, when she suddenly had an idea. He would make an excellent junior partner! She offered him the job, and he signed on. She was officially a trainer. Currently, she operates out of the Manehatten Hidequarters, but she is prepared to relocate at the drop of a hat. She works closely with her Earth Pony partner, Agent Lope Lighthoof. Character Personality: Tangent can be friendly, but is focused. She has determination and once she starts something, she always finishes it. If somepony tries to stop her, she adapts and goes around them. With time, she can fit into most social situations, but prefers to avoid the need to do so. She remains calm in heated situations, and cares deeply for those around her, though she rarely shows it openly. She used to be much more friendly and easygoing, but the death of her father, coupled with the sudden death of her mother only a couple years prior, changed her, and now she has a proud need to live up to who they were. Character Summary: Tangent Line is a focused but overall friendly pony who is carrying the legacy of her parents on her shoulders. She has honored them by becoming a member of a secret monster defense agency which is in danger of collapse due to replacement by the STAR force. She has no friends, and according to all those she used to know, is dead. She is calm and calculating (literally. Her cutie mark is literally in calculating) but can still fit into social situations.
  8. Cloudy smiled at Windy's remark about eating a whole pie and giggled slightly at her "usually" comment. "Well don't feel the need to show any restraint around me! I know I won't be showing any myself!" As they entered the restaurant, Cloudy was once more impressed by the beauty of the architecture, even if it was all for show. She gazed around and nearly bumped into a waiter because she was watching the walls and ceiling rather than the space in front of her. "It's amazing! It reminds me of the Cloudeseum!" she said in response to Windy's question. She could hardly read the menu because she kept being distracted by the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was so regal and yet informal at the same time. The cushions were as fluffy as any she'd ever sat on, and the tables and floors the cleanest of any restaurant she'd eaten at outside Canterlot. But it was filled with ponies in flowered shirts with fanny packs and sun hats. The juxtaposition made it rather charming.
  9. Agreed (only, i don't have very many as of right now xD)
  10. Cloudy looked up immediately. "Oh! There you are! I was worried you'd gotten bored and left me! Hahaha!" She was glad he'd shown up when he did. She was getting hungry! "So! Where are we off to?" She said, rising to her hooves.
  11. Cloudy was still waiting patiently when the other pegasus arrived. She didn't notice him, however, until he trotted up to her.
  12. ooh! what do you have in mind??
  13. It was over an hour and a half before Cloudy made it back to the hotel. She was flustered, and had turned around multiple times to grab things she had forgotten, but she hoped she hadn't kept him waiting for too long... When she arrived back in the lobby, she tried to compose herself. This was a nice place after all. But ohhhh.... She couldn't see her new friend (she'd forgotten his name again!) anywhere! Had he given up and left without her? She trotted over to a seat and sat down. Maybe she'd wait a bit. He might take a while to get unpacked like she did. And besides, they hadn't exactly set a time to meet up. He just said they should get lunch together. That sounded fun. Lunch with friends was always a treat! Come to think of it, she couldn't think of a single pony she called a friend with whom she hadn't had a meal... Must be her thing! She'd had multiple lunches with Thunderwing, and he'd payed every time! Such a good friend! There was the lunch with Wind Dancer in Los Pegasus, and now this one! She must have eaten over a hundred lunches just with friends! The thought made her smile. She found some entertainment in a trinket on a decorative table while she waited.
  14. I feel i should mention that S.M.I.L.E. is a canonical organisation. It's the secret agency that Bon Bon discloses she was a part of in "Slice of Life," and it was later expanded upon in the book "Lyra and Bon Bon and the Mares of S.M.I.L.E." (i can send a link if you'd like to read it. it's actually pretty good)
  15. they are brown horseshoe shapes
  16. just updated my bio... please don't hate me...

    1. Blueblood

      Blueblood

If anyone's been giving you a hard time, please let me or one of the staff know.  We don't want this to be a community where there's hostility.

    2. Cubbage

      Cubbage

No one's been giving me hostility haha don't worry. i just feel i may have hurt some feelings by not being super clear in my bio, to the point of potentially outright lying, and so i'm scared people are going to be mad at me as a result :|||

  17. Cloudy gave a sympathetic expression. "I'm super relieved to hear that. That sounds awful! I'm glad you got to live your dreams, though! If you hadn't, I wouldn't have gotten to see that spectacular performance!!" Cloudy was glad to hear she wasn't the only one who found distaste at the idea of eating fish. She perked up at the mention of pie, though. "Strawberry. Silk. Pie??? Three of the most delicious sounding words combined into one meal?? Oh my goodness, that sounds amazing!! I can't wait to try it!" She trotted gleefully, following Windy's lead to the restaurant.
  18. Roleplay Type: WoE Name: Johdpur, Alias Lope Lighthoof Gender: Male Age: Stallion Species: Earth Pony Eye colour: Blue Coat: Sky blue with a white strip down his muzzle Mane/Tail: Navy blue Physique: Fairly average physique for a stallion, think the Doctor Hooves template Residence: Manehattan Occupation: Secret agent of the Secret Monster Intelligence League of Equestria (S.M.I.L.E.) Cutie Mark: Johdpur’s cutie mark appeared as a colt when he ran in the Running of the Leaves in Ponyville, where he was born. He wasn’t a part of the main event, of course, because he was too young, but he ran in the foals bracket. He and a pegasus wound up neck and neck in the last hundred metres of the track, and he was able to push himself forward, winning by a horse length. His cutie mark (three hoof prints) appeared, affirming that his athleticism was his destiny. Unique Traits: As a trained agent, Johdpur has picked up several skills along the way. He is a gifted charlatan, which makes him good at undercover operations, as well as a good lie detector; he was trained back before the transformation of the changeling hive, and therefore was trained on how to spot them, facial expressions and gestures being one of those methods. History: Johdpur was born and raised in Ponyville, and grew up with all the accompanying traditions, including Winter Wrap-Up, the Running of the Leaves, and many more. He was always outgoing as a colt and enjoyed all sorts of outdoor games and sports. he even seemed to have a knack for them. After winning the foals’ bracket in the Running of the Leaves one year, he earned his cutie mark in just the kinds of games and sports he loved. As a young stallion, Johdpur tried out for and made the Ponyville buckball team, replacing Pinkie after she retired. He made his name as a talented player, though he never gained national popularity like his predecessor had. On a return trip from the national championships, Johdpur’s train was derailed suddenly by a passing Ursa Major. Enraged by the pain of being struck, it began to tear the cars apart. Johdpur was still recovering from the impact as the car before them was crushed beneath the great bear’s paws. He knew he had to act fast. Adrenaline propelled him through the nearest opening just before the car was ripped apart. Only two other ponies escaped the carnage. And the monster still had several cars to go. Suddenly, popping sounds were heard all around as unicorns in black vests and sunglasses suddenly appeared around the Ursa, confusing it. They brought with them earth ponies and pegasi in matching attire, who immediately began rescue efforts on the other cars while the unicorns kept the Ursa Major at bay with magical beams. Johdpur did what he could to help, and managed to rescue a couple of foals who were trapped near the front. Most of the ponies were evacuated by the time the engine exploded. At length, the Ursa Major was tranquilized, and aerial support arrived to move it out of the area. Airships also landed to supply trauma support and medical care for the wounded while they awaited another train, which took it’s time in arriving. Before boarding, each pony was shown a hoof mirror by a unicorn and was explained where their injuries had come from and why they hurt the way they did. Their story was that the train had derailed, but that paramedics had helped them. No one on board would remember the Ursa Major or the Mares in Black. Johdpur was one of the last to get on. He had sustained a fairly severe hindquarter injury which he did not notice until it was pointed out to him by the paramedics, who treated him for it immediately. He looked into the mirror, unaware, as the others had been, that his memory was about to be altered, when the unicorn stopped. She commented on Johdpur’s bravery and skill in the situation and invited him to join their secret agency. He would have to leave his Ponyville life behind. According to everyone who knew him, he would have died in the train accident. The unicorn gave him a choice between not remembering the traumatic experience as it was, or becoming an agent of the Secret Monster League of Equestria. After some deliberation, Johdpur signed on. Training was rigorous, and lasting effects of his leg injury often held him back, but it was worth it. Johdpur moved from city to city, confirming changeling sightings, capturing escaped prisoners of tartarus, and running damage control on various monster attacks. He was no longer known as Johdpur. He was officially Agent Lope Lighthoof of S.M.I.L.E. Currently, he operates out of the Manehatten Hidequarters, but he is prepared to relocate at the drop of a hat. He works closely with his Unicorn partner, Agent Tangent Line. Character Personality: Lope is friendly and able to fit himself into virtually any social situation (part of what makes him such an effective agent). He is confident in himself to the point of being somewhat prideful. Character Summary: Lope Lighthoof is a proud but overall kind pony who was involved in a traumatic event as a young stallion and as a result became a member of a secret monster defense agency which is in danger of collapse due to replacement by the STAR force. He has no friends, and according to all those he used to know, is dead. He can fit into virtually any social situation and is a proficient runner, though his back leg makes this more difficult for him than it used to be.
  19. all these people with talent making me feel jealous xD amazing work!!
  20. "Alright! I'll leave you to it then!" Cloudy said, turning back towards the entrance. She turned back as Wind called to her, then accepted the lanyard and placed it in a pocket in her saddlebag. "Oh! Hahaha That could be important! Good thing you remembered! Now let's just hope I can do the same..." she said, rolling her eyes at herself, knowing her tendency to forget things exactly like this. She turned to leave again, but then stopped and turned back towards Wind. "By the way, I don't know if I said this before, but in case I didn't, thank you so much for inviting me!! This is seriously one of the coolest and kindest thing anypony has ever done for me! I swear I'll find a way to repay you! Thank you!!" And with that, she turned and trotted gleefully to the exit, giving another little squeal of excitement before rushing through the rotating door and flying up to the sky to get to her aunt's as soon as possible. Her aunt and uncle were cordial and kind as always, and insisted she fully unpack and have a bite to eat before she left. Her uncle owned a place on restaurant row that they took care of together, so they took food very seriously. In her excitement, Cloudy left her list behind and rushed straight back for the hotel to meet Wind. With any luck, she wouldn't keep him waiting too long...
  21. Using RP as a motivator; only replying between assignments.

  22. i feel like there are a lot of possibilities for rp with Discord and Sombra, as well as with Rose and Cloudfeather. I'll think up some ideas and get back to you. Let me know if you think of anything too!
