  1. Valence struggled to stay awake through the lecture, but managed to survive without slipping off luckily. He had to admit, it was somewhat interesting. Though he'd never been caught up in an impromptu musical number himself, he'd been witness to several and had known several people who had participated in them without seemingly having knowledge of it until after it was over, and sometimes never coming to realize it. But of course, everything that was fascinating came at a cost... It was like a law of some kind. If you thought something was cool in school, it had to be dampened by something not cool, in this case, learning to sing and dance. If Equestrians naturally burst into song, though, why was that necessary?? Oh, whatever. Might as well accept the inevitable. Chipper did not seem annoyed in the least, however. He laughed in his... unsettling way as they left the classroom, and Valence couldn't think of anything to say.

A quick stop by Valence's dorm allowed the two colts to compare schedules, and Valence was somewhat relieved to see they were very similar, though not exact. He figured that was best so that he'd have a familiar face in most classes, and a break from the unicorn every now and again just in case. Ponies were draining, especially when you were on the opposite sleep schedule your body was made for. "So I guess it's Defense Against the Dark Hearts next then?" Valence asked as the two walked down the hall.

  2. Cloudy nearly had to shout to be heard over the applause and cries from the audience (which she contributed to as she responded to Windy). "You read my mind!" she replied, and quickly the two were off to the shop, Cloudy taking an enthusiastic lead this time, the whole while raving about the match. "I mean, they were as fast as lightning! One second the flag was up, and then as soon as it was down they were at each other!" "I can't believe he really knocked him out! Can you imagine how hard he had to have hit him?? I mean, I knew Clydesdales were strong, but that was insane!!" "And then the lances exploded!! Like tree branches struck by lighting! I mean, look at the size of this splinter! This was in my hair!!" and so on.

As Windy was getting drinks, Cloudy interrogated the shopkeep about a rulebook, refusing to believe there were none in stock. As she started lamenting this to Windy, a handsome stallion strolled up to the pair. "Pardon me, but I couldn't help but overhear your... conversation with the attendant, and I thought perhaps --" he stopped midsentence as he appeared to recognize the other pony. He lowered his voice. "Forgive me, but are my eyes mistaken or are you the Wind Dancer?" he asked.

  3. Reflection did the only logical thing and followed the sound of her friend's voice, calling all the while. "Karakusa?? Kara!?" And then... she saw her.

She wasn't sure if what she was seeing was better or worse than what she had imagined, but it certainly wasn't good, regardless. Though considering her mind had automatically imagined something akin to Kara's dead body or a ransom note, she supposed this was probably better. Marginally. But it still was a long way from good. "Oh no..." she muttered as the scene unfolded before her eyes...

  4. Hey guys, super sorry about how long it's been. Feel free to be angry at me. I've recently reawakened a(n) MLP hyperfixation and have decided to try to get back into the RP! I'm not making any promises on consistency, but I do promise I'm going to make a bit more of an effort to post here more often (though technically posting at all would fill that qualification... oh well). Anyway, I hope you have both been doing well! And I hope that life is looking up for you! If it's not, I highly recommend looking into dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)! It's a great self-therapy that works wonders! I can testify of the results myself! Anyway, I'm going to stop plugging for job and get on writing a post xD Please don't judge me if it's low quality! I'm still a little rusty.... :|||

  5. Valence definitely thought Chipper's school supplies were... unfortunate, but he didn't say anything. As Chipper conjectured at which class they could be in, Valence made his decision as to which he preferred. "I hope it's not music. I'm not good at that, plus I don't think it was on my schedule. Defense Against the Dark Hearts sounds cool though. I don't know if I can throw fireballs, though..." he responded.

  6. It seemed like only hours ago she had received her invitation, and now Udon was here, in the Crystal Palace, assisting the kitchen staff! They had only a few hours for everything to be completely ready for the guests to arrive, which meant it was crunch time. She zipped over to a large pot and sampled its contents, being sure it had a good balance of flavors. Her holiday special was simple enough to make, but too much of any of the spices would send it to ruin. Her husband was supposed to be here with her, but had come down with an unfortunate cold the day before and so was unable to assist her. Now, it appeared the other chefs were carting out their pieces. She tasted it one more time, nodded, and decided it would be good enough. She then proceeded to poor it into a more friendly-looking bowl for serving, topped it with a ladle, and moved out into the ballroom.

She felt somewhat out of place, being one of the few non-crystal ponies, but that wasn't a new feeling. She'd been living in the Crystal Empire for years now and hadn't seen another thestral since arriving. The occasional pegasus or unicorn came through, but never areions. They tended to live on the outskirts of Equestria Proper, or even outside of it entirely, so she wasn't surprised.

After placing her soup, she retreated back into the kitchen for a moment of rest. It had been a long day already, and now the night was finally on its way. She decided now would be as good a time as any to take a pick-me-up, so she located her bag stashed in a corner, removed a vial of Everwake, and tossed the contents down the hatch. Instantly, she felt rejuvenated and ready to go the rest of the night. Alright, Udon, tonight's your night. Time to shine! she thought to herself. She straightened her hat and uniform and returned to her work.

  7. xD I love that the term "closet brony" exists. Ok, well, actually, I hate that it exists because you shouldn't have to feel bad for liking a show. But y'know. Anyway, no I don't play Minecraft or Pokemon sadly, but I'm really good at taking an interest in what other people like! So if you ever wanna chat, shoot me a DM (Discord is preferred, but here works too). No need to feel uncomfortable! I hope you find a home here on Canterlot!

  8. With another flash, Discord popped back into existence only a few meters away from where the Princess of Equestria was currently located. He would have gone closer, but didn't want to give away his position just yet. When the other Discords arrived, he rubbed his hands together maliciously. "So, boys, what'll it be? Shall we flip a building or two to see if she notices? Or perhaps play around with the Great Hall stained glass windows? Oooh Or we could fill the castle with some of our favorite plants to pretty things up a bit! This lavender hanging everywhere is sooo drab compared to the kind of plants we keep!" He chuckled some more, looking around for more ideas.

(Sorry, I was waiting on a third post before taking my turn, but it occurred to me that said post wasn't coming, and so I decided to go ahead since Discord wouldn't approve of taking turns anyway ;P)

  9. Diamond Pass, Princess Pomegranate, crystal fruit... None of it was making sense in her head. But she could tell one thing. If this dream-weaving cat didn't have the guts to get it himself, there was something about this he wasn't  telling her. "And what's in this for me? Obviously this is the price, so what's my prize if I do go through with this? And why is this rock so important to you anyhow? Sure, it's pretty, but something tells me you're not this motivated over other trinkets. So what about this one has you reaching out to a world-walker like me in my dreams to try to con me into retrieving it for you?" She examined the fruit a little more closely. It was indeed a pomegranate, and from the detail on the skin, it looked realistic enough that Reflection might have thought it grew from a tree, were it clearly made of minerals.

  10. Chipper took his seat next to Valence, and Valence honestly didn't know how he felt about that. The rough-around-the-edges unicorn seemed friendly, but also extremely creepy. It would be a while before the areion felt comfortable in his company. He chuckled politely at Chipper's comment about keeping his "tender parts" (he could only guess what that meant) protected.

Once inside the classroom, Valence began extracting his notebook, inkwell, and pen from his bag. He dug around for his schedule to try to remember which class this would be (tiredness had a way of making him forget important things), but found he had not packed it in his rush to get out of the dorm this morning. "Good question," he replied to Chipper.

  11. Reflection gazed around in confusion. This wasn't just any study. It was her study, and that mirror was one she had... acquired (more or less legitimately) from a Starswirl collection. She could remember countless hours analyzing its energies and field disturbances, and the few trips she had dared through it. "The Purveyor", as he called himself, seemed right at home. He continued speaking in riddles, and Reflection continued to remain in a lost, confused state. "What are you proposing?" she asked, wary of his answer. Folks like this were always trouble, and she already had her fair share of that in her life right now. She had awakened an ancient cosmic being of untold power by accident, most likely dooming this entire world to the being's chaotic whims. She wasn't sure how many more prices she was willing to pay...

  12. Cloudy watched the lances connect and let out a cheer when Marcus came out on top. There was a brief pause between matches as the two competitors grabbed new lances, and the next match was announced. Then the stallions were back at it. Cloudy was too engrossed in the current match to hear Windy's remarks about the upcoming one. She knew that during intermission, she was going to find a rule book and figure out how this sport was scored!

A painful crack resounded through the ring, followed quickly by an eruption of cheers as the two lances exploded off their targets once more! A few splinters landed in Cloudy's hair, but she didn't take notice of those, either. She was too busy cheering for Marcus! Although, she was forced to snap back to reality for a moment as some frustrated patrons behind her called for her to return to her seat so they could see. From the sounds of it, they'd been trying to get her attention for some time. She returned sheepishly to her seat. She often blocked out the world around her by accident like that. It could be frustrating both for her and the people trying to communicate with her.

Her momentary guilt was whisked away by the sound of hooves again as a fresh pair of lances shattered only a few metres in front of her! This time, though, she was careful to remain in her seat.

  13. Discord has to be there.

I think I'll bring in Morning Glow and Valence since they live at the school.

Cloudfeather because she hasn't had enough love from me lately.

Discord honestly just wants to be noticed. The more expensive and eccentric the gift, the more he'll like it. But whatever you do, don't get him socks. Unless you're Fluttershy, in which case literally anything will send him over the moon.

Morning Glow is the sort who won't be very satisfied no matter what she gets, but you're usually safe with a book of some kind, especially one on magic.

Valence would love some ingredients for his chemistry set and potions.

Cloudfeather isn't too particular. She really likes clouds, so pretty much anything related to the weather will make her holiday.

If anyone wants to do specific RPs, I can add and/or subtract ponies as needed.

  14. Valence had heard stories of Caribou running thestrals out of settlements before, but his was lucky enough never to be disturbed by them. Some of his friends used to dress up as caribou for nightmare night and would always get annoyed looks from the adults of the community. He had figured they were bad news. But this unicorn, if Valence was unmistaken, had just addressed one as "papa". Was he raised by them? That would certainly account for his... eccentricities. "I heard there were caribou, but I never met one. We usually tried to avoid them and hoped they'd do the same to us," he said. He figured that was the best way to put it in order to avoid conflict. He didn't want to offend anypony.

  15. Reflection knew cats like him existed outside Equestria, but she had never been face to face with one. His shape was alien and strange to her, and made her even more uneasy than she already was. "W-what do you want with me? You're a purveyor? What are you trying to sell? I'm not giving up my soul to you!" She winced a bit after the last remark, drawing back in case he retaliated physically or tried to use some kind of magic on her. Wait! Magic! She had magic! She charged her horn with a teleportation spell, but when it reached peak energy, nothing happened. Rather than teleporting, her horn just fizzled a little and made a small *pop* sound. So much for that...
