  1. Zipp flatlined at Sunny's impossible suggestion. "Yeah, that would be a no. Besides, I don't even know why she needs an extension cord for her microphone. Aren't they all wireless?" Zipp stared at Sunny for a solid second or two before shrugging and putting the extension cord in there shopping basket. "Whatever. Okay, what's next. Box of nails. Izzy needs them for her crafts, I guess." She browsed the hardware isle a little more before finding all the festeners and tools, and saw a box of 200 nails, and put it in the basket. "Here we go, one box of nails. What's next? Oh, the food we need is in the next isle. Sunny, do you know what brand of jelly we usually get?"

  2. Silverstream daydreamed Gallus' visual of his tailfin becoming bruised and batter, and the idea of having to explain the situation to acquaintances. It would be embarrassing. She took a moment to burst out her laughter spat, as it took a few seconds for her to react to the nutty things Gallus was saying. "Hehee ha ha. Yeah I can't imagine what my mom would say!" Silverstream maintained a super relaxed position. Her wings would normally be folded politely behind her, but because of the humidity and the heat, her feathered appendages lazily fell on either side of her. The griffon was acting extra cute today. She knew how he felt about her thanks to the quality time they had spent with each other in the past. Gallus was sometimes insufferably flirty, but the conditions seemed to amplify his gumption.

She looked at him casually. Then, he complimented her eyes. Under normal circumstances, she might roll her eyes or reveal her rarely seen shy side. But instead, the humidity gave her a strange sense of confidence to reflect the mutual respect she had for Gallus. "Oh, yeah? You like my eyes? Have I ever told you how much I love the color blue?" Silverstream got up and moved to sit next to Gallus, instead of across from him. Her equine pelt brushed his feline fur. Silverstream could feel her own heart race the closer she got to him. And even though he was sweating profusely and his feathers were about as unkempt as she had ever seen them, she liked everything about him in this moment. He was so hot. Probably because of the heat.

    Current temperature: 39°C, 94% Humidity.

  3. Applejack liked all of the parts of Coloratura's personality and commentary that she could relate with the most, particularly the bit about the amount of love she has for her homeland. "That's how I feel too, about Sweet Apple Acres. Don't mind being away for a little bit, but whenever I'm away, the plan is always to go back home." She could have also mentioned she never got a full night's rest outside of Ponyville, but she didn't want to burden the singer with her minor inconveniences. Applejack was silent for a moment as the two paced towards the row of restaurant destinations before chuckling out loud and then explaining why. "Heh heh. I imagine you'll need to find a good stallion who either lives here or is willing to move permanently to your place. 'Cuz even though you travel a lot, you make no mistake about where home is."

  4. Gallus had questions. Silverstream expected he would and counted on it. It allowed her to pour out to him her understandings of her kind and gave her an excuse to ramble on like she enjoys. "When they expanded the freedom celebration to three days, one of the things they added was a symbolic bonfire on the second day. Hippogriffs join together and gather debris from the storm that passed us during the Storm King's tyranny, and burn it away as a metaphor for our vanquishing of old material possessions. Of course, hippogriffs also do bonfires to burn away fallen sticks and leaves when it storms for real, but the event is an excuse to do both!" Silverstream started picking up medium-sized sticks, as if she was attempting to build a fire for a campsite. "I'm surprised the horn hasn't sounded yet. The fire should be lit pretty soon. So we might as well get our tribute ready. Oh, and by tribute, I mean our offering for the fire. Some hippogriffs offer to add old possessions and belongings that they feel is keeping them from enjoying life to its fullest, or as a way of renewing our perspective on how we use resources on the island and respecting our home. But, most of us just grab sticks that need to be cleaned up. I figured the sticks in the harmonizing heights need to be picked up anyway."

  5. Silverstream was about to give Moonlight her typical positive words of encouragement that rung in the tone of everything working itself out, something she learned in one of Professor Pinkie Pie's classes. Although, she probably had more reps in that area of friendly encouragement by just being friends with Ocellus, the most worrisome creature she had ever met. Before Silverstream could give her outburst of uplifting commentary to the unicorn, Fluttershy spoke her classroom instruction with soft sternness. Fluttershy's participation check of the last lesson about long term friendship, made Silverstream shoot her talon in the air. "Ooo! Oh!" However, Moonlight appeared to beat her to it.

Fluttershy smiled at her class when all of the students volunteered their answers to her question. "Oh, haha. Um. How about...    Moonlight."

  6. Remington hated being called on in this moment. He was deliberately not trying to send any signals, as to send a signal that he didn't want any attention. To him, it was obvious. Why else would he being acting in such a reclusive way? He could respond with something bland to encourage the instructor to move on, but the outpouring of his edgy emotional status contaminated his words. "Uh. Yeah. Friendship is magic, and all that stuff." Remington moan out of his cloaked appearance, still only the tip of his red muzzle peaking out from the shadow of his hood.

  7. Silverstream giggle-snorted. "Gallus stop being so dramatic." Silverstream turned the temperature dial to increase the temperature. It was now set to temperature level 7. She recalled Yona's spa explanation. "Oh yeah, I remember. She was all like, 'Yak have best spa! Yak take giant boulders to make huge steam! After spa, we cool rocks, then SMASH!' Ha haha heh." Gallus asked her about home and the assumption he was missed. "Oh you have no idea, Gallus! My mom asks about you every time I visit back. She keeps asking me how your tailfin is doing. But I have to keep telling her that you were only a seagriffon that one time." Silverstream rolled her eyes and then rested them looking at Gallus. He sure was a cute griffon, and so funny, too! He could say anything next and she would fine it pleasing, despite the fact that the heat was finally starting to make her sweat a little.

    Current temperature: 37°C, 92% Humidity.

  8. Zipp pondered Sunny's query for a second or two. "Would she mind?" She knew her sister. "Oh, yeah, she would mind." She knew her sister well. "But if you tell her everything you just told me, I think she could get behind it." Zipp knew Pipp was higher maintenance than most other ponies, but for the few that dare to approach her, Pipp could be talked down pretty easily. Zipp on the other hoof, was much more stubborn and picky about her preferences. "Ugh I hate this. I wanted a medium length extension cord, but all they have is the small and large. Sunny, do you think the small one will be long enough for Pipp's microphone?"

  9. As expected, Coloratura was the better dressed mare. And Applejack was fine with that. It was inevitable and she was willing to lose the wardrobe battle, especially knowing a gal like her would understand anyway. She listened as she addressed her team of dancers and stagehooves. "Yeeeehaw!" Applejack agreed as Coloratura announced the end of the workday and the departing of the two's quest for a relaxing evening meal. It seemed contrary to all the diet restrictions she had explained she was on earlier, but Applejack assumed Rara had a cheat meal in play, or that she was just being fun. Either way, the mare's insistence on playing and eating hard was likely the truest words Applejack had heard her say all week. "Let's go get it!" Applejack walked out of the complex and waited for Coloratura to lead the way, since she knew where they were headed.

  10. Any implication that the Queen's words were being censored without her knowing would certainly cause problems, even if she herself didn't mind the audio touch-up. Of course, in this instance, Flick would yield to her demands, regardless of her level of ribbing. In his attempt at authentic conversation with the Queen, his goal was never that she would never have to command anything, but rather that she would only have to command things once. Flick motioned to his producer. "Of course, we'll leave that uncensored. No problem." Flick paused and thought for a moment, and would jump at the opportunity to say something he thought would make good content for the show. "You know what we should do? We pegasi should make our own forbidden words. It's not fair that superstitious unicorns get all the fun quirks. So what should our words be? Hmm. How about 'horn,' or 'ground,' or 'apricot.' What do you think?" Flick wore a cheeky smile.

  11. Silverstream had no idea what kind of engagement Moonlight had had recently, she could only go off of her story and what she previously knew about her. The pony's story about her strut had her entertained. "Wow, that's really neat. But there's only one colt that could score that dance with you, right?" Silverstream stated with a wink. "Was he one of them?" Silverstream only had a minor acquaintance with the pegasus colt, mostly remembering his performance at the school uniform reveal that Moonlight probably roped him into.

Before more conversation could be had at normal volume, Fluttershy zoomed into the classroom, her mane slightly bedraggled from the quick flight to the school. She panted as she address the class in her normal teaching voice. "Good morning, heh, class. How is everyone doing, heh?" She paused for a classroom response and also to help catch her own breath. "Today I have a special activity today, that I know you are all going to love. But first, who remembers what we learned last time about having friends for a long time?"

  12. Remington was writing something in his notebook. He muttered under his breath, "Don't worry about me. Just writing poems about death and how pointless life is." As long as they didn't bother him, he was fine with not saying anything else. Whatever it took to get through class without having to participate in whatever silly lesson about friendship, the same one that had been lectured over and over, he thought.

  13. "Karaoke machine? Pfft! No, silly, my karaoke machine is twice the size of this, and it's upstairs. This is my popcorn machine. I got it at a yard sale last Spring. Took me five whole days to drag it here." Izzy grabbed the bowl of kernels that was right in front of Sunny and gave a strange look at her. Izzy knew all the rumors about earth pony intelligence were mostly debunked, but sometimes she had to wonder. "Pfft! Karaoke machine. You're a hoot, Sunny." Izzy poured all the corn into the top of the heating element of the machine and then turned it on, closing the device's door. "So after all the kernals pop, we can add several different flavors to it. We have red. We have blue. We have yellow. Which one is your favorite, Sunny?"

  14. To avoid detection from his mother, and to remove himself from the filly conversation that seemed to lead down the path of humiliating him, he dove into the pit and swam beneath the balls, displacing them wherever he went. He could not avoid true detection, but that didn't matter. All that mattered was that he felt concealed. Sneaky. Like a shadow. Invisible. Like a pony shark. In truth, he didn't remember why it was so important for him to avoid detection from his mother. He assumed he would be caught doing something he wasn't supposed to, he supposed, a classic default position of mentality for a colt like Zap. During his short swim, in which he could be heard humming involuntarily, he noticed the tail of High Bar in front of him, and decided to do the only thing that came to mind. He tugged on it real hard.

  15. Sweep him off his wings? Silverstream would appreciate a good sweeping from Gallus, though it would be completely out of nowhere and considerably out of character for the griffon. She supposed it would be more likely that her over-excited personality would eventually sweep him up in some way shape or form, but she hadn't planned for it, at least for now. "Yeah it is pretty soothing. Tonight is a special night for it too, as the entire hippogriff community will join together in a wind song. And you can come participate, too!" Silverstream swooped down to the ground within the heights and started perusing around for something. "Come down here, Gallus. We need to collect our tribute."

  16. Silverstream thought Gallus was being a little weak in his ability to deal with the steam room's elements. Sure it was warm and humid, but it really wasn't all that bad, or at least she didnt think so. In fact, the tick up in temperature didn't phase her at all, she could barely tell the difference. "Really? It feels the same to me. I kind of feel like it got colder somehow." Silverstream was technically correct. While the humidity increased in the steam room, the temperature had not increased as much as the dial would have implied. She smirked at Gallus and dared him. "Would you be able to handle the idea of me turning it up a little more? I just want to make sure I get it right, Professor Rarity reminded me to make sure the temperature was just beyond comfortable. She said you always feel better after the fact."

    Current temperature: 34° C, 90% Humidity.

  17. Zipp smirked and tilted her head at Sunny. "Um, sure. I don't see why not. You can be my assistant." She let the earth pony entertain the thought but had to stop immediately at the thought of her one of a kind headwear would just be a hoofheld appliance anypony could buy at a general store. "But, I don't think they have spy goggles here, or anywhere. Remember, Izzy made those for me. She worked some kind of genius to make a state of the art device that can see through things, but she did it, and I don't think she made any others."

Zipp opened the door to the store and walked inside. Once inside, Zipp grabbed a basket with her hoof. "Ok let's go down the hardware isle first."

  18. Applejack felt Coloratura was laying it on a little thick with the compliments of her figure. It wasn't anything Applejack wasn't used to, and typically the small amount of cat-calling that would occur in Ponyville bounced off Applejack like it was nothing. And even her friends would compliment her quite vigorously, and Rarity on occasion would say something about Applejack's finesse, even though it would only happen if the unicorn caught her right after a shower and not during any other time in the day in which she was just minutes passed throwing hay bales. Still, Applejack was amazed at how close Ra-Ra seemed to be getting. It was in some ways very similar to what Applejack remembered about her when she was a filly. Ra-Ra was very easy to get along with. She had a shy barrier, but once it was broken through, the filly would become your best friend within a few hours of common bond.

Applejack went to one of her host's many closets and begin searching through it to see if there was anything that caught her eye. And in fact there was. Something about it was familiar. It looked like the outfit the Countess had worn during the weekend she visited Ponyville for the Helping Hooves Music Festival. Suddenly, Applejack was transported into what she would look like if she had worn it. After that moment of realization, she shook her head and looked for another. The next one actually looked rather casual, and after pulling it out, Applejack decided immediately she was going to wear it. It was nice, not too much, casual, but also spiffy. She could have looked for more, but there was no point in wasting all night trying to find something to wear, especially if Applejack wouldn't have worn anything except for her hat, had she been going out under any other circumstance.

After a few moments of sliding on the outfit, Applejack fit her hat back on and looked at herself in the mirror for three tenths of a second and walked out into the common room to wait on Coloratura.

  19. "Ha ha, well I should hope so. That would be awkward wouldn't it? Pony peace being interrupted by a lack of soap usage? Imagine if we went to war over something like that anyway." Flick didn't want to get into real details of pony differences, knowing full well a good queen would deflect such language on a public platform. And he himself would ridicule any kind of malice in language that would divide Equestria once again. He was, however, part comedian, and loved finding the absurdity in every topic he goes over with guests on the podcast. He felt being affable was the key ingredient to getting great authentic interviews on his show. "What about the unicorns and their forbidden words. Um, this show is actually hitting record numbers because it's reaching out to ponies outside of Zephyr Heights. But because our listeners in Bridlewood have strong views on the usage of several commonly said words and not to use them because they are 'jinxies', we have had to censor some of the audio out of previous episodes. And even this one." Flick looks at his tablet. "Yeah my recorder automatically picks it up when we say it, and it bleeps out those words. See, here it says we've said the word 'wing' five times. Welp, six times now, haha. The Bridlewood version of this show just replaces the words with a booping sound. We tried replacing them with a pre-recorded version of me saying 'bing-bong' but we realized it ruins the flow of the podcast."

  20. Silverstream turned to Moonlight's greeting. "Whoa! Look at you! You look extra sparkly today. Oh, today has been great so far! This morning, Ocellus and I walked down to the lake before class and fed the ducks that hang around the school. We did it for extra credit one time for Animal-Caring class, but now we do it all the time for fun! You should join us sometime." She looked down at Moonlight's well-maintained hooves. "You might need a good pair of boots though, it gets muddy down by the water some mornings. What about you!? What's got you lookin' so good?"

Fluttershy was running late to class. This wasn't the first time she was late, and her students would understand. Today, she was caught up having to cut Angel's lettuce leaves diagonally instead of straight, an ordeal that took an extra fifteen minutes of her morning routine. But everything was done now. She just hope she wasn't breaking too much of a sweat bursting into class. And she knew she needed to finish the class intro soon since she knew Applejack was going to work with her today.

  21. "No." Remingtom mumbled back to the teacher as his slouch become more sunken. His hoodie kept anyone from seeing the whites of his eyes, but he could make out if someone was around him. He did notice the apple on his desk, but he did not touch it. When the blue griffon in class motioned to him and asked if he wanted the apple, Remington shook his head somberly. "I don't like apples", he muttered. Considering the amount of transparency of the class, this was the first time Remington had ever said such an opinion. Only if he possessed this opinion before would it not seem as a shock. A griffon not liking apples? Understandable, and this wasn't the first time that came up.

  22. Remington was wearing a dark blue hoodie. His head was covered up to the nose so that you could barely see his eyes. As he walked towards his next class, he tried to cloak himself to not be seen by those who would recognize him. He carried his bookbag in a way that covered his cutie mark. Conversation and questions about how he was doing was not something Remington was up for at the moment. And he knew that in his condition, any engagement would just lead to more questions. So he thought it best to slip in unnoticed and embrace the shadow. Once he dove into Applejack's classroom, he ducked himself away from others' eyes and shuffled to the back of the class. Against the back wall, he sat down, put his book bag on the ground next to him, and slouched, folding his hoodie down. If other's noticed his entrance, he promised himself that he wouldn't care.

Silverstream fluttered into the classroom and took a seat towards the front. She loved Professor Fluttershy as a teacher, as she always had the easiest to listen to lectures and fun games, as well as leniency when it came to homework and pop quizzes. Last semester, It took all of seven minutes for Silverstream to finish a week's worth of homework assigned from one of Professor Fluttershy's classes. All she had to do is write down the names of ten citizens from Ponyville that she hadn't met yet, and say something nice to them. The class was currently without its teacher, as Fluttershy seemed to be running late. While waiting for class to start, Silverstream started chatting it up with classmates that sat around her.

  24. Away from Sunny's line of sight, Izzy was banging pots and pans and making noise from her kitchen area. It stopped, and then a few moments later, Izzy walked out and put onto a table in the share room a bowl with corn kernels in it, and three smaller bowls all with different toppings in them. After setting the bowls down, she disappeared again, and started slowly shoving a large machine to the share room. This large machine looked like an oversized karaoke machine with a window. It was not immediately discernable what it was. It took all of Izzy's strength and energy to move the large object next to the table with the bowls. Once it was in position, Izzy exhaled a few times. "Alright, wooo. We're ready. Get yer creative hooves cloppin!"

  25. Applejack paused. "Uh. Oh, no, not really. Should I wear something nice? I wasn't sure because normally I wouldn't wear anything, but I also don't want to be outta place if we're going somewhere that you might dress up for. In any case, what do you suggest? Any outfits you can lend me? I know you probably got more clothes than a tree has leaves." Applejack wasn't expecting the rest of the evening to be that eventful, outside the usual antics that two mares out on the town can have. Though she wouldn't normally prepare an outfit for the same occasion in Ponyville, she knew that this wasn't her hometown, and Coloratura had different expectations and lifestyle choices. She figured the least thing she could do is try to match whatever aesthetic her host was trying to display.
