  1. Zap's feathers were being rustled. And even though he knew that High Bar was just being antagonistic and passively insulting, he couldn't get over the way it made him feel. He was not old enough to be the bigger pony, and even if he was, he takes after his pegasus' mother's ego. "Hey, I can go see the pegasi right now, my mom just wont let meeEEE-yaa!" Zap fell back into the ball pit from the light touch from the unicorn filly. His legs and wings were not positioning himself in a stable manner, and he flailed in the pit for a few seconds because stabilizing himself. By then, his sister was laughing at him. "Amby, don't listen to her, she's mean!" Zap did no favors to his defending against High Bar as his face and attitude were well underneath the two fillies' grace and cordial posture.

  2. Silverstream lifted her head to look at Gallus momentarily. "Aww. I can only speak for myself, but the gang also feels the same." 'Me especially' she wanted to say, but didn't feel the timing was right. Although she expected it to be a little longer of a relaxation period before the experience they were having would have ample effect on their mood and muscle tightness. In fact, Silverstream executively thought it might be too long of a wait and decided to speed it up. "You know, this feels nice, but I think we can turn it up. I don't think setting four is all that intense, pretty mild actually." Without consulting Gallus, she sets the temperature up to seven out of ten. Momentarily, the amount of steam coming from the vents increased. Worrying for somegriff not used to the humidity, but once it hit the feathers, it felt kind of nice. Silverstream let out a large sigh. "I'm also glad to have found you and the others. I can't imagine what I would be doing right now, had the Queen not sent me to the school. Probably swimming around Seaquestria eating gormet seaweed, dancing every night to the bioluminescent fish and falling asleep to the waves crashing in on the Mount Aris beach. It would have been wonderful," Silverstream realizes in jest. "But not as wonderful as my new best friends."

  3. Zipp rolled her eyes at Sunny as she grabbed her bag. She opened the door, let Sunny walk out, and then shut the door behind them, ready to briskly walk to town. By the time the two fillies had gotten to their destination, the shopping list seemed to continue to grow. "Ok, so batteries, treats, cereal, milk, socks, light bulbs, bandaids, two reems of construction paper that you owe Izzy, toothpaste, floss, sunglasses for both of us because we realized how sunny it is out here." (Zipp realized the opportunity for a pun on Sunny's name and chose to ignore it.) "We also need a new pacifier for Sparky, bath soap, three picture frames, two cans of lima beans, a kite, grape and strawberry jelly, since we can't decided between the two, an extension cord for Pipp's mic, a box of nails, and an empty spray bottle for watering our indoor plants." Zipp took a breath. "Wait, why do we need the kite again?"

  4. Silverstream was excited to show somegriff the Harmonizing Heights. It was a rare thing to witness since it was tucked away in a small valley on top of Mount Aris. Also, she was excited to see if some of the legends she had heard were true. One legend suggests that if two who possess a special bond with each other enter the heights together, that they are overcome with joy and spontaneously jump into song. Within earshot of the vibrating melodies, Silverstream cringed slightly at Gallus' desire to not sing. "Um, What? Oh, no! Heh, you don't have to. I mean I don't have to, either. We don't have to together. Or separate. We don't need to sing, yeah." Silverstream looked away.

"Um, but anyway, here it is. In ancient Hippogriff times, King Vetera helped construct the Iron Citadel, and also fortified the island with these huge walls. Legend says that the walls were built with the magic of love and harmony that came from all creatures that live around the island. It is said that magical songs are emanated here by the trees, the rivers, and the critters and echo indefinitely off the walls that possess the spirit of the ancients who love to hear the songs."

"Nogriff lives here. It's not completely protected, but most hippogriffs just allow it to be a place to visit. It would be kinda hard to sleep with the constant ringing though, I would imagine." Silverstream chuckled.

  5. Flick nodded and yielded to the Queen his satisfaction of such a well-thought out response to his half-joking question. And in all seriousness, he wouldn't refute anything she said. It is true that while you wouldn't write into pony law exact percentages of rulership stake that are afforded different types of ponies, there would be some kind of understand amongst the high council of pony leadership that the ying and yang of cooperation would exist organically and be dealt with in a personal fluid way. Who these high council ponies would be was an interesting thought to Flick though, and he desperately wanted to know what the Queen thought of that. "So who are these earth ponies and unicorns that share in that? Does the public know them? What kinds of conversations have you had?"

  6. "You know this town better than I do. Although, I imagine you probably don't go to many places without paparazzi ponies following you around. Tell ya what, let's just go to a place that isn't out in the open, like maybe a place that would give us a private dining room, and ah won't be too hard to please with the food. I generally wouldn't prefer such an environment, but I'm also not generally around a super-famous pop star with crazy obsessed fans." Applejack teased. "And hey, maybe I'll be your personal bodyguard." She walked inside. "Just lemma wash up and then we can leave."

  7. Izzy opened the door to her home. She knew Sunny had been here before, but she decided to present it like it was her first time again. Izzy loved her home. It was the place she was freest to express herself. She often held back her expressions when in public places, especially outside of Bridlewood, though most ponies may never notice her reluctance to be herself. Her home was also relatively presentable, which would suggest that having to share space with her would be easy.

The adornments inside her house were chaotic, but like all geniuses, she knew where everything was. "Make yourself at home while I go get the snacks. I'll set them up here in the share room." She snorted. "That's what I call the room where I share things with ponies." She trotted happily towards her pantry further into the villa. The share room was like a standard living room except for the finished and unfinished works of art on display.

  8. "Hitch told me a couple days ago that we ran out of treats for Sparky, you know the ones we give him for good behavior. It's probably the reason why he was so rambunctious yesterday, and also why we ran out of cereal because Sparky was snacking on it. Oh, we need cereal too." Zipp helped herself out of the door and started walking towards town. Normally she would take off flying, but she would enjoy the chance to walk with her earth pony friend, even if this particular earth pony did have magical wings she could control sometimes. "We should go to that new corner store off of Mane, the one where that pegasus from Zephyr Heights sells electronics."

  9. "I will, Dad!" As Silverstream prepared for a flying depart of the tavern, Sky Beak toss several coins onto the bar's countertop as payment and gratuity of the services and beverages rendered during the special guest social gathering. Silverstream gave Gallus a cute glance and nod, an invitation of a trip to somewhere else that held an ambiguous meaning behind it. Gallus would likely be confused. But honestly, Silverstream wasn't privileged with the knowledge of what all the non-verbal cues she gave either, and would have no explanation if asked.

Once out of the tavern, Silverstream flew up to get an arial view of their surroundings. "This way!" Silverstream started gliding towards an open vista, an opening among the Aris mountaintops that featured a healthy ecosystem in it, but had little hippogriff intervention. "Let's go here first. I can't possibly go the rest of today without showing you the harmonizing heights!"

  10. "Heh. No. Although I do play the fiddle in front of Winona from time to time when Apple Bloom is trying to teach her how to dance. When I'm playing for and in front of ponies I care about, it generally makes me better at doing whatever singin' and instrumentin' I'm doing." She paused and looked at Coloratura with a soft smile.

Applejack gently put the fiddle in it's case and fastened all the buckles that kept it safe. As she was carefully checking the tuning of her guitar before putting it away, she answered the question of what she wanted to do next. "Woo wee. I'm pretty famished right now, could go for something to eat. You know how easy it is for me to work up an appetite. Maybe we could go out and get something, give ourselves a change of scenery."

  11. In an attempt to cover any evidence of his presence by the balls, Zap heard the snark from the filly close to him. "Ugh. I'm tryin' ta...  SHHHH!" Zap exclaimed in a whisper. He was then curtailed in his frustration again. "Grrr. No! I didn't see the pegasi today, no thanks to my mom! We've been too busy walking around Ponyville slowly, looking at dresses and buying things I don't need." He poked his head out a little just in time to see his sister trotting close to the pit. "Chu- Mmaa...  Amby don't come over here!"

  12. "Out of ten, it looks like." Silverstream glanced again at the knobs, not paying too close attention to the details. Silverstream was not so secretly enamored with Gallus during times of deeper conversation, so she knew that the following minutes would be very good on her ears and her mind. Gallus was unbearable occasionally in awkward situations, but when there was no pressure to be cool and save face for multiple classmates at the same time, his expressions and demeanor were relaxed and calming. Gallus was never threatening, either, perhaps to his chagrin. Silverstream liked that about him. "Oh, not a problem, Gallus. But um, I wasn't asking what you thought about the spa. I was asking more in general. What do you think about other things?" Silverstream's posture sunk to the natural reclining position the wooden benches in the steamroom would allow. The towel Silverstream had with her was loosely woven around her, she paid it no attention. Her mouth also fell to a relaxed open state as she released the tension in her muscles all over her body.

    Current temperature: 30° C, 85% Humidity.

  13. "And I used one for the flashlight I keep in the Marestream glovebox in case of emergencies. Nine left. Hmmm..." Zipp pondered about as much as one could about something of this nature for only a few seconds until she concluded what the next step would be. "Well, I guess we could look for extra clues, maybe using my goggles. But in order to do so, we need more batteries. Sunny. Trip to the store?"

  14. Izzy was cheerfully bewildered by Sunny's inability to understand basic memory. "I remember it like I remember anything else. Like how you remember all those pony stories from long ago." Sunny seemed desperate to move onto a single thing instead of a platter of ideas, and Izzy could understand. "Night time tradition? Hm. Well, most unicorns do this thing in their homes at night where they lay down in bed and fall asleep." Izzy stares. "...but we also have custom ponycorn snack-making. Usually for sleepovers, but unicorns sometimes do it often even alone! And since I know we're both famished from walking all the way here, we might as well eat something." Izzy trotted into the forest towards her home, La Villa Izzy.

  15. Sky Beak was amused by Gallus' story, if not a little suspicious of the truthfulness of the tale. It was only the reluctance that the hippogriffs had during the Storm King's oppression that made him feel as though it wouldn't necessarily be in the best interest to the griffons, at least not aesthetically, to ally with the ponies they rarely say eye-to-eye on. It made him wonder if the Princess Council in Canterlot had a diplomatic strategy that Mount Aris leaders could learn from. Despite their willingness to share experiences, hippogriffs were mostly homogenous prior to Equestria's unification attempts. "I wish I could have been there by your side Gallus so that I could see the looks on their faces, the humility of the griffon warriors, the anxiety of the nest-makers, and the young griffon chicks worried, tears streaking down their down as you bolster their spirits to fight a common enemy!" Sky Beak exhaled and reached a talon around Gallus' shoulders. "What a moment in time that must have been."

Silverstream nodded along, not letting Gallus simmer down her father's excitement. In between bites of snacks, she looked at the angle of the sun streaking through the tavern and realized how late in the day it had already gotten. "Oh! Dad, they're doing the sky-dancing today right? I wanted to make sure Gallus got a chance to see it. We have so many things to see!"

Sky Beak was not excited about sky dancing, but he felt somewhat satisfied with the amount of comradery that had been on display, especially coming from the griffon guest of the day. "Oh, alright." Sky Beak released Gallus from his story-telling shackles. "Would you do me a favor, Pumpkin. If you see Mrs. Featherflit, ask her if she plans on making any of her battered mackerel fillets tomorrow, they are delightful!"

  16. "Jackie said, 'Discord, just come back if you ever wanna try again, cause I told you once, you son of a beast, I'm the best there's ever been.' And she played...

"'Fire on the mountain, run girls, run!
Discord's in the house of the Rising Sun.
Chicken in a bread pan pickin' out dough.
Granny, does your dog bite? No foal, no.'"

Applejack played her fiddle to the outro, giving the lead back to Coloratura to close the song. She danced as she moved her bow violently back and forth across her violin. She was having a good time, something she never predicted could happen when she thinks about her future as a music performer. But when she finds herself in these moments, it feels much better than she could have predicted, especially with a recording artist to help perfect the stage setup. It was thrilling, not only because she was able to sing her heart out, but also because she was looking over the edge of a cliff, anxiously pondering what the next step could be. Applejack couldn't possibly tour full-time again and break the promise she made to herself and her family, could she?

  17. Zap dove straight into the ball pit, swam through the plastic balls as if he was on some kind of secret mission to investigate the pit. The other foals in the pit noticed him and were surprised by him swimming around, not sure what he was doing. Zap stuck his head out at some point and looked back at the table his sister was sitting at, and Applejack had come back from the front counter. Zap assumed he was in trouble, only because he left his sister my herself. Though it wasn't for long, he thought for sure his mother would have something to say about it. All he could do is hope his sister didn't rat him out as soon as mom asked about where he was. He dove back underneath the balls in case his mother looked his direction.

  18. "I don't know how warm I prefer, I've never used a steam room. All those Seaquestria pampering sessions were more like hot tubs and hippogriffs don't do day spas." As Silverstream rambled, she looked over to see what the helpful spa pony had to say about the knobs. But when she looked, they had already walked out of the room and shut the door behind her, leaving Silverstream and Gallus alone in the sauna.

Silverstream agreed with Gallus. "Yeah, I guess. I'll set it to thirty minutes, and temperature setting four, whatever that means." Silverstream turned the knobs accordingly. They had a satisfying click and seemed to work as intended. As she set the temperature, small puffs of steam blew through small grates along the floor. "Hahaha. Yeah, she would sound just like that." Gallus was a funny griffon. This impression wasn't as good as some of his others, but Silverstream showed her appreciation for it for reasons beyond the level of spontaneous laughter it earned.

She sat back and exhaled, creating and enjoying a long pause before piping up. "So. What do you think, Gallus?"

  19. "They're missing!" Zipp paused, seemingly for dramatic effect. She held up out of her wing her goggles. "My spy goggles were where I left them, but I noticed the batteries in them were dead, so I went to go get some new ones in the closet." Zipp holds up an empty box. "But they're gone! I just got this box of batteries from the store two days ago! Someone is using the batteries, and all of them, too. But who? And for what?" Zipp looked to her side at nothing as she pondered about her lack of clues.

  20. Sunny said the magic word. And as soon as she said it, Izzy's mind began racing of the things that could be related to it. She gasped before saying, "Traditions!? Oh we got lot's of those! Which one would you like to do? We got swimming in Bridlewood Lake during the first day of Spring, the biannual hill hike, old timey film festival, the treetop restaurant hop, the forest edge camping competition, the wooden tool make-off, the bright moon log toss, exotic berry-picking, pancake day, tea day, pie day, soda day, monthly book club, weekly book club, daily book club, hourly book club, staring at your neighbors dog, flower-picking, abstract gift-giving, balloon championships, the annual magic show, although that one might be discontinued, willow-counting, crystal shining, stone-rolling, leaf collecting, junk trading, trade junking, sculpture-hiding, the annual jinxy council, jinxy word dares, bush parades...

...cave-diving, art sharing, poetry night on Thursdays, upside-down tea parties, Wishiehoof, and the Ultimate Challenge at the Crystal Tea Room, oh but you know all about that one, don't you, heh." All of Izzy's listing was long enough to cover the time it took to walk to Bridlewood, as the two found themselves at the foot of the forest. Although this time, the signage that discouraged earth ponies and pegasi from entering had been taken down.

  21. Applejack theatrically spectated the rehearsal of the devil's fiddle-playing. As Ra-Ra illustrated in a strange version of interpretive dance that included the playing of a musical instrument, Applejack could allow herself to fulfil the role she was playing. Though it was all scripted and acted out for presentation purposes, she had fun being able to use the natural moxie she had within her, once the instrumental part of the song had finished.

Applejack raised an eyebrow and tilted her hat back. She smirked before she rebutted. "When Discord finished, Jackie said, 'Well, you're pretty good, D-cord. But sit down in that chair right there and let me show you how it's done!'" Applejack stepped up to center stage where dancers and extra musicians filled out behind her to support her performance. Between each line in the verse, she strummed magical sound waves from her fiddle.

"'Fire on the mountain, run girls, run!

Discord's in the house of the Rising Sun.

Chicken in a bread pan pickin' out dough.

Granny, does your dog bite? No foal, no.'"

Applejack began her fiddle solo. It was improvised a little, but many of the strums her ones she had made several times before. As she played, she danced and swayed and moved with the percussion and guitars behind her. On the last note of her fiddle solo, she strummed dramatically away from herself and looked back with the confidence of a hero that had won the battle.

  22. Flick smiled wide and involuntarily chuckled. As soon as his breathing would allow him, he uttered out a response like he was serving up a punch line. "Ha heh, ha, what are you gonna say that I haven't had to share the burden of decision-making? Haha, ha, but no I'm not married." Flick leaned in to Queen Haven's question, hoping she would share with him the hilarity that he sensed in the timing of the question.

  23. "The earth ponies and unicorns will help us with this, of course right?" Flick asked rhetorically. "With only a few issues, I feel like the network sharing with Bridlewood and Maretime Bay has been pretty well recieved." Flick pondered a bit and smirked, knowing his next words would need to be spoken in the right tone, as to not make it sound like a signal to return to older ways. "You know, I know it's important to put the past behind us and not look down on the other pony kinds, but considering the level of civilization we helped bring to them as a result of the unity, I feel like we're owed a higher amount of decision-making, what do you think? I know you would never hoofbump me for suggesting you should be the Queen of the other towns, too, but shouldn't you? Who do you share your diplomacy with typically, anyway? A tea barkeep and a military factory executive?"

  24. "Pfft! I don't know, Gallus, what do I look like, some kind of expert on spas?" Silverstream brushed passed the assumptions and irony as she sat down. She was comfortable, but she was mostly excited. Although being excited to relax was a strange paradox for her. "Wow, it's already warm in here, but I'm sure it gets warmer, doesn't it?" She saw on the wall inside the spa a panel that had a couple knobs, one labeled time and the other temperature. Silverstream was told by Rarity that they had upgraded their spa control system to be customer controlled. She looked at the spa pony, who looked like she was on her way out to leave them to their session. "Is this how we control the temperature?"
