Hello Bones! Before we take a look at your application, I recommend that you read some of the Pinned posts in this forum, particularly Rarity's Application Form. There's a few pointers in there that will help you get your application processed more easily. When you've read that post, and made the adjustments it recommends, mark your app as [Ready] in the title. Good luck! Also, I wanted to add, you can RP any time you want in the Free-for-All section without an application. An Application is only required for the World of Equestria RP Section. This section has strict canon and character restrictions in place to maintain the world and the RP quality. FFA is wide open, and anyone can RP there, as long as you follow the general site rules.

On Independence Day I saw Man of Steel. Very serious take on Superman, not a lot of humor to be had, but still a good action movie. On Sunday, saw Monsters University. Really good, gives a good back-story to Mike and Sully. Miss Hardscrabble is best monster.

Hi Willowsnare! First, to correct a misconception, you don't need 3 posts to put in an RP application, but there are certain features, like the chat room, that do require at least 3 posts on the forum. Its pretty easy to make a topic in the introduction forum (as I see you've done), and get your three posts there. As far as our application goes, not every Canterlot member automatically wants to join the Role Playing sections. As a matter of fact, you don't need an application at all to role play in the Free-for-All section. Applications are only required for the World of Equestria (WoE) section at this time, and those apps are carefully reviewed by our volunteer staff to make sure the character fits into the world correctly. There is a new RP section coming online very soon that will also require an application, but the requirements and restrictions will be easier than WoE. I encourage you to read the sticky posts in the Applications section to see how to apply for the WoE Roleplay before putting in your app. Good luck!

Hello Krad! I've taken a look at your application. There are some things we need to change before your character could be accepted for the World of Equestria role play. The first thing is the name. While 'Ventus' means wind, Krad isn't a very pony name. If you shortened the name to just Ventus, it should be OK. There's a detail in the description that I want to make a note on: You mention that your pony sometimes wears a cross on a necklace. Please keep in mind that WoE does not allow religious references. A cross can be just a cross, but it should not have any religious significance to it. After talking to someone else in the RP Helpers, we agreed that the explanation of his cutie mark didn't make a lot of sense. Cutie Marks typically denote a pony's special talent, which in your character seems to be flying in storms. You could keep the CM story the same, but change the meaning. In the History, the story about our pony getting caught in the storm and injured seems unnecessary. Remember that the World of Equestria RP is based around the FiM cartoon, and its unlikely the show would feature a traumatic accident like that. Even when Rainbow Dash crashed and injured her wing, she was just inconvenienced for a few days, not really hurt. I think the history could be re-written that he was always scared of storms as a foal, but after the Cutie Mark story he realized how much he liked them. Maybe add how he got his job on the Weather Team. If you can make those changes, we can look at your application once again

As most everyone probably knows, My Little Pony: Equestria Girls was released to theaters last weekend. So far, the reaction from the FiM fans has been very positive. While most of the adult fans seem to dislike the character designs, the story, characters, and writing feels very much like a FiM episode. Right now, on Canterlot.com. the only place you could play a human or humanized pony would be in the Free-for-all section. As far as World of Equestria is concerned, humans do not exist. But, what if there was a section for humanized / Equestria Girls RP on Canterlot? Is that something you'd be interested in? This is not an official poll from the Canterlot.com staff, I'm just curious to see how much interest there'd be in a Equestria Girls RP.

Sorry, but Fleur to me is a nopony. A lot of the time I based my rankings on personality from the show, and she wasn't given any time to actually develop one. She was just a fashion accessory for Fancy Pants. Same reason the BG ponies are all at the bottom, no matter that they are popular in the fandom.

There were so many comparisons in this where I went "These two ponies are nothing alike, how am I supposed to choose??" Fluttershy took comfort in the fact that her friends didn't seem to blame her, but this whole situation still had her terrified. She stuck close to Applejack as they all followed Rainbow Dash through the cave. The caves carried all kinds of sounds to the ponies; bangs, hisses, rumbles, and dripping water. Fluttershy forced herself to put one hoof in front of the other, but at every noise she just wanted to curl up into a ball. Fluttershy was so focused on just moving forward, she didn't even realize what Rainbow had discovered until Pinkie's shout. Her eyes locked on the gigantic, gem-studded form before her and she froze, eyes wide. Every instinct was telling her to bolt, but there was no where to run here, and no way to fly away. She stood there frozen, like a statue, until Applejack went up to the worm and poked it. Her hoof went right through the surface! Suddenly, Fluttershy's mind started working again. She walked up to the the husk, and started feeling it with her hooves. "Oh wow!" she said, her voice carrying a hint of awe. "It's a shed exoskeleton, like a from a cicada!" She wrapped her hooves around one of the gems embedded in the surface and began tugging. With a crack, the jewel broke free, sending the pegasus tumbling backward a bit. She dropped the gem, and instead went to look at the deep crater that had been left in the shell. "Whatever these creatures are, they must have been down here for years!" she said, her excitement from discovering a new species finally over-riding her fear of the creatures. "But does this mean they are some kind of insect? Or a worm with an outer shell? What do they eat down here? Gems? But why would they have them all over their shells?" At that moment, Fluttershy was distracted by a rumble much louder than the others had been. "W-was that another cave-in?" she asked, her eyes darting around to try and find the source of the noise. ​

As Snips tiredly accepted a slice of pie, he heard Cheerilee ask a question of the class. He looked over the the teacher, a look of of shock on his face. Even after the disaster that this field trip had been, she wanted to know what the foals had learned?? With a tired sigh, the colt took a moment to think about his answer. To his surprise, he thought that, maybe he had learned something. Thinking of the fire in the orchard, Snips said, "I learned that, as cool as magic is, it can't always solve everything." The colt's face then went sour, and he added "I also learned that I never want to go to a farm again. Ever." With that, Snips downed his pie in one huge bite, closed his eyes, and dramatically flopped to the ground, totally exhausted. ​

**Fluttershy** [colour=#ff4080]Fluttershy trotted beside her friend, looking around a little nervously. She hadn't known quite what to expect when Rarity invited her to this convention, but she wasn't prepared for the number of ponies that were waiting in the registration line. She kept her head down shyly, using the new hat that Rarity had given her for the occasion to hide her face. "Um, Rarity, are you sure this is a good idea?" she asked the white unicorn. "I... I didn't know there was going to be so many ponies here." [/colour][colour=#ff4080]As the two mares advanced, Fluttershy got a better look at the interior of the building. Ponyville's town hall had been completely redecorated, and now truly resembled a spa. She tried to think positive. She liked going to the spa, it was a very nice way to relax. This would be just like the spa only more... crowded. She began to spot familiar faces in the crowd. Most of the mares she recognized were from Ponyville, but... wait... was that Cadance? Was the Princess coming to this convention?[/colour] [colour=#ff4080]Before Fluttershy could get a better look at the pink pony, the line moved forward and she found herself at the registration desk next to Rarity. There, she spotted another familiar face, one that instantly gave her a smile. "Well, hello Spike!" she said to the dragon brightly. "Are you helping out at the convention?" Hearing Rarity tease Spike, Fluttershy giggled, and added "Oh yes, I'm sure we could find some ribbons to tie onto your spines!" [/colour] [colour=#ff4080]With a guilty start, Fluttershy realized that she had not yet spoken to the green pegasus at the desk. "Oh, um, I'm sorry," she began. "I'm, um, Fluttershy, and I think I'm supposed to have a room with Rarity?"[/colour] ​**Topaz Tremor** [colour=#ff8c00]Topaz looked at the elaborately decorated building around her and felt totally out of place. She was taller than nearly every other mare in the room, but that was normal. What made her uncomfortable was the, for lack of a better word, femininity of the place.[/colour] [colour=#ff8c00]The geologist had spent the past several months in and around Ponyville, ever since the Running of the Leaves in fact. She had not intended to stay quite this long, but, as it had turned out, this area was fascinating! The terrain around Ponyville had many features that, to her logical mind, should not exist. Hills where there should be none. Up-thrust cliffs where there had been no known seismic disturbances. A vast gorge, several miles long, but with no evidence of a river to carve it. Not to mention the rock farms around the town. After some correspondence with her professors, they encouraged her to investigate more deeply. So Topaz had spent the last few months digging, chipping at rock faces, and writing up her findings. In other words, she was enjoying herself immensely![/colour] [colour=#ff8c00]But the constant work was tiring, and Topaz's mother had sent her a ticket to this 'EQGirls Con' in an effort to get her to relax. Mother was a jeweler, and more used to things like spas and beauty treatments. Topaz had no experience with that sort of thing, but she did feel she needed some time off.[/colour] [colour=#ff8c00]But just looking at the other mares in the line made her feel uncomfortable. Like the pair in front of her, a white unicorn and a yellow pegasus. The unicorn had all the class and mannerisms of the noble unicorns in Canterlot, and the pegasus, frankly, looked like some pony that could be a super model. In fact... hadn't she seen that face before somewhere? Meanwhile, Topaz, with her big draft pony body and her plain looks, felt like she didn't fit in. [/colour] [colour=#ff8c00]Topaz sighed wearily. Ok, she could really use some relaxation, and some time away from rocks. She made up her mind to try and enjoy the weekend. Adjusting her glasses, she approached the registration desk. "Topaz Tremor, checking in," she said, looking down at the green pegasus at the desk.[/colour]

Her eyes darted around rapidly, but could see nothing beyond the the small circle of light provided by Rainbow's lantern. Fluttershy didn't have claustrophobia like some pegusii, but this total darkness felt like it was crushing in on her. On top of that, she was suddenly feeling terribly guilty. She'd brought the other girls out here, and now they were all trapped. Between her fear and her guilt, she barely heard Pinkie's shouted warning. [/colour]​ [colour=#ed458b]"Aah, so that's why my Pinkie Sense is goin' off! Hey everypony, we're in mortal danger!" [/colour]She said happily. [colour=#ed458b]"RUNNNNNNNNNNNNN!"[/colour] [colour=#ff4080]Fluttershy tried to rise to her hooves, but her legs were shaking too badly. Angel Bunny, freed from her forelegs, started pushing the mare to get her to move, but it was no use. Fluttershy looked up, and saw part of the ceiling descending toward her! She let out a scream, just as an orange blur flew into her and pushed her out of the way. [/colour] [colour=#ff4080]As the tremor finally died down, Fluttershy finally struggled to her hooves. Coughing on the dust kicked up by the falling stalactites, she turned to Applejack, who was breathing heavily after her dash across the cave. "Oh, Applejack! Are you Ok? I'm so sorry!" she cried out. She began checking the farm pony for injuries, babbling apologies. "This is all my fault! I brought you all out here, and put you all in danger, and now we're all trapped, and we don't even know for sure if Rarity and Valen are down here!" Slumping back to her haunches, she said dispiritedly, "What do we do now?" [/colour]​

If you check this link: World of Equestria, it shows maps of all the cities and towns on the WoE Equestrian map. Beyond that, there's currently no plans to develop other cities like Stalliongrad.

I think Faust said that at one point Rarity was supposed to have a fake accent, but they decided not to do it. But when you compare Rarity's cultured, refined voice to the mid-western sound of her parents, there's something strange there. I would imagine if she had a longer name, it would be something cutesy or 'common' based on her parents.

I liked the story. The pacing and story made it feel like it could have been an episode. Yes, the writing was simplistic. but that's to be expected because it is a children's book. There were only a couple things that were off about it, and most of those can be attributed to the fact that the book was written before Season 3. Yes, Twilight is a Princess, but events from S3 that would have changed certain characters and events were not included. My only real beef with the book was the portrayals of Trixie and Gilda. They were both largely out-of-character, and completely pointless story-wise. And what were they doing hanging around Ponyville anyway?
