Interesting revelation I found. It seems that when I draw a character from MLP in an Anthro form it might be too niche. Some MLP fans don't like Anthro art and some Anthro fans don't like MLP. I think that art style is trying to do too much. Perhaps I'll just keep Anthro and MLP separate.

This pretty pony just popped into my mind, and I knew I had to draw her! It was largely a way to test drawing anatomy, pose, and expression as well as keeping my drawing of ponies fresh. I also wanted to make her colors like candy floss or cotton candy, as well as her flowing mane and tail. As for her backstory, I can see this friendly, energetic, and sometimes flirty pony owning a store like Sugar Cube Corner with the twist of hosting date nights to bring ponies together. Maybe one day she will find her special somepony...Sweet Heart is my original character. -

Nice MtG reference, Ciraxis!
So, my idea (tentatively) is to introduce my new ponysona as an OC. I see Lux as a Dr. Strange kind of character, studying magic while protecting the world from dangerous magical artifacts and creatures.

So, with making podcasts/ videos, is a gaming headphone like say one by Turtle Beach a good option?

Turtle beach is never a good option. Honestly I'd just get a Blue Snowball, and use your speakers or the headphones you already have.

Please for the love of Celestia do not use Turtle Beach. They are awful all around in both build and sound quality. Blue microphones are excellent mics for their price point if you are planning on getting more serious, but in a pinch just using your webcam microphone and cheap headphones are sufficient.

Thanks! Actually the trees were inspired by the Black Locust, an actual tree that has long thin strands that hang down. It's a very beautiful tree. Found a picture of it online seen in the Spoiler tag. -

So, I started working on a new fanfic and used the picture of a human Applejack as a cover art. Well after several people saying my art and story was God awful, I had enough and deleted the story. (Sigh) Maybe I should stick to writing for better endeavors and cease trying to draw humans.

Exactly - the only way to improve is to keep trying. There will always be those that give nothing but criticism instead of constructive criticism. Just pay attention to the people and comments that are trying to help you improve, and ignore the obvious trolls that are jerks because it gives them sadistic pleasure to cut people down.

First time drawing a humanized version of a character from My Little Pony. Since I don't draw her much, I decided to draw Applejack. I think it turned out pretty well. I might use this art as a cover for a new fanfic. We'll have to see though. -
Question for all of you who read MLP fanfics: What types do you like? Romance? Adventure? Slice of Life? Sad? Dark?

I like adventure ones...maybe with a hint of slice of life. My favourite will always be the "Twilight is a Changeling" type~

Can't remember the last time I read a Pone-Fan-Fiction..I usually like the adventure ones.

Adventure and slice-of-life are the closest I have to go-tos. Occasionally comedy, though I find it hit or miss. I tend to avoid dark and sad, or the like, because I feel I get enough of that from other places. I tend toward stories with changelings in them.

I was going to draw this in memory of Carrie Fisher (hence a Princess honoring a princess), but in light of all whom we have lost this year, I felt it was fitting to honor them all, both those we knew publicly and those deaths in our own lives. For me this is for great artists and writers like David Bowie, Prince, Alan Rickman, Richard Adams, Carrie Fisher, and most importantly, the recent loss of my grandmother. I guess this is my way to honor and remember them. -
Sad day for me. My grandmother passed away today at the age of 90.
