I use Fire Alpaca. It was easy for me to learn and doesn't have any big bugs in it.

I can't stop laughing at the idea of some ragamuffin pony that just goes and sits in front of ponies' homes, munching on broccoli.
It's just that this pony's routine is to sit at a certain place and eat broccoli. And Lore Weaver hates broccoli, but at least he's not afraid of it like Twilight is with a quesadilla.

I definitely agree with those, although the big problem comes from how some of these are interconnected. Derpy alone isn't a problem if she is portrayed correctly, but often times she is combined with #4 on the list and thus there is too much focus on her disability. Luna's angst is often combined with her rebellion which makes things bad too, and although I don't mind a Luna regretful of her past I do mind the angst. (Seriously, that's what most of the superhero movies of the early 2000s were, angsty heroes).
I'd also add any grimdark animation/ fiction that takes the characters completely out of context and makes them do things they would never do just for shock value. It doesn't work in movies with shock horror and it doesn't work for fan fiction.

Oh I wouldn't say that our opinions differ that greatly!
For me I don't mind if someone dislikes a certain animation just as I don't mind if they don't like a movie, book, or TV show. Often I agree to disagree when this happens. I also understand that the story is the most important thing no matter what form said story takes.
My concern was in the way a critique is given, that while it shouldn't be to coddle an animator it also shouldn't be in the other direction where criticism is made to look at every little negative thing and none of the positives.
Not saying you, QuickLime, do that, but reading comments on many animated works this tends to happen. We all live in a hypercritical world, maybe too critical at times. I sometimes get upset when I see an animator with potential who are passonate with what they are doing suddenly give up most or everything they love to do.
Perhaps I should redo my blog to make it clearer. I tend to make walls of text. :s

You wouldn't dare...

Why do I see that as a future thread?

Very nicely done! Gives a better explanation than the typical "born blind" idea and sets up the character up for an interesting time now having to adapt knowing that she once did see.

Excellent Review. I agree that this was a marked improvement to the first one. Then again I liked the first movie so this one only made things better.

I had this issue after season 4. While I was still interested, my drive to make new RP threads, fanfiction, and art wasn't there. At first I thought it was a in between season slump but I wondered if it was more. Thankfully it was a phase and I have a renewed interest. Maybe it was because of my fellow pony fan friends the reinvigorated my interest.
So don't count your interest waning just yet as it may come back.

Third Place, not bad for me. Excited to see August's results.

Very nice.
I do believe that there is magic in places that we often overlook like friendship and love among other things. The trick is knowing it's there and then showing it to others.
I too have a connection to Twilight as I feel my life is similar. I had friends in high school but almost all of them left after graduation. I regret not keeping them near me. While in college I was much like Twilight, focused on studies and feeling like i didn't really have time for studies. Then I met four great friends and it was like a spark ignited. We've been friends and fellow MLP fans ever since and watching Twilight I realize how her personality for research, friendship, magic, and yes even overreacting is similar. I suppose I identify much with her just as I do with Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter.

Cool! Never thought I was the most active roleplayer among the staff.
And yes, let's continue this with July.

I love this advice. It gives me new insight into the way I play and my characters I have.

Well, a couple of general tips I can offer are as follows.
1) Check out pony bases or templates on art sites like Deviant Art. They will help you her the general anatomy down.
2) If you aren't using one already, I'd suggest buying an Artist Tablet. I use a Wacom Bamboo Create which was about $75. It really helps you draw as you're using a stylus rather than a mouse.
3) Practice! Trust me, you'll see a difference even six months from now if you practice.
4) If you have trouble drawing from scratch on a computer, I'd suggest my way I draw which is to sketch on paper first, scan the drawing and upload it on an art program, open up a Layer and trace over your art, delete your original sketch, and finish your drawing. It takes a little extra time for me, but it helps me to see art in a defined space (a piece of paper)
Hope this helps.

I agree. Animation was good as was Voice Acting, Pacing, and Music. True the story had holes, but I thought it was very cohesive.
Comparing it to other movies, it's not one of the greats, but it still was a very good movie. On a grade A through F I'd give it a B.

Well, I can say that because you tried, that earns a place in my book.

Wonderful entry. Couldn't have said it better.

I guess being a member of the furry fandom, it's nothing new.
Then again, one can do worse than be a member of a group that like ponies that teach friendship, love and tolerance!

Being a Poe fan, I'd go with the first.
