Depends on the kid really. They all appeal to some girl in that age range. I personally think rainbow dash is the most popular though overall. Not sure why, it is just a feeling. (Among the target audience)

It is not my fault that the mythbusters gave you coffee and launched you into low orbit! Starrie it is! Hope we can get along well

Your avatar seems to match you perfectly . That said, I joined this community because I deemed it quality. I'm very choosy about forums I join. I don't think you need to worry I welcome thee to the magical world of canterlot. I am star swirl the bearded, but feel free to make a nickname. I hope we can get along well.

Getting an early jump on it then, eh? I see... Free is very interesting, very interesting indeed.

You know... I know this isn't the place... but I must ask Pinkie... When did you get down from space??? Didn't the Mythbusters launch you into orbit using coffee? http://theartrix.dev...onies-200939257

Disney eh? Pixar saved them. However I do admit to enjoying Phineas and Ferb, and most of their movies are just fantastic. I still say Fantasia is a musical and visual masterpiece like none other. To be honest... You're description screams "Pinkie Pie" to me, but hey, what do I know, I'm a fairly new fan (cupcakes instead of crepes would have sealed it). You have ambition, which is good, I hope you succeed in your dream. I'm close to attaining mine as well, in becoming a biotech researcher (I suppose we both have huge goals that require far too much work >_>) Also thank you for not making me feel strange in posting a lengthy intro before... Everyonepony else's seemed to be so much shorter. Last, but not least, WELCOME! I am Star Swirl the Bearded (feel free to make nicknames, I know its a lot to type). I am also fairly new to this community, but I know a thing or two about forums, so perhaps I can still help despite my lack of experience here. PS: I too am enamored with the emoticons. They are so very wonderful

I think the more pertinent question on everyone's mind is... Did you manage to wrap up winter on time? Or will your town be subjected to another year of scandal and shame?

I hear that they plan to release the first 5 episodes on DVD soon. But it is 5 random episodes. However I don't doubt they'll actually release it, unless they plan to keep it only on iTunes, which would be horrible for people like me who doesn't like to use Apple products and services. Would rather them be on some other service.

15 year old gets kicked out of house because of MLP
starswirlthebearded replied to Acynder's topic in Pony Chatter
I get the feeling that this is fake. Granted people have been thrown out for similar reasons. However at 15, he is a minor and can seek assistance from authorities. Throwing a minor can easily be considered child neglect, which is illegal and punishable by law. -
Indeed. Shea Stadium in Brooklyn. It's always awesome and inexpensive.

"Do You Believe in Magic" or "Keeping Your Inner Child Alive"
starswirlthebearded replied to a topic in Chit Chat
I am totally twilight in that regard. But as I said, nature is plenty magical. Even if you understand it, it doesn't make it any less amazing. Find me any machine that runs better than a nature counterpart (I bet you can't). I love advanced technology, but we are a ways away from beating mother nature. This universe is amazing. It's the reason I went into science. -
"Do You Believe in Magic" or "Keeping Your Inner Child Alive"
starswirlthebearded replied to a topic in Chit Chat
I'd say yes, but bear with me on why. So, I am an atheist and don't believe in anything magical, as I feel everything has a logical explanation. But that does not mean that the world is not magical. Yes, many things can be explained, we know why they happen and how. But consider this. We are talking on an internet forum through an advanced network of servers, because we are living, and we are living thanks to numerous biological systems that have a lower failure rate than any device ever conceived by man. The molecular processes, signaling channels, neuronal interaction... I could go on. I think that is pretty magical and miraculous, and the fact that we are constantly discovering new things, and our inability to recreate things that nature does so easily is just astounding. The universe is a magical place, no matter how much we think we know or can logically explain. The further I go into science, the more apparent this becomes. -
You know... Technically speaking Celestia is the one true ruler. She rules the day, while Luna rules the night. Considering that most ponies (other than Twilight) sleeps at night. It is safe to assume that, to most, if not all ponies, Celestia is the one true ruler of Equestria. Also... the only reason Celestia and Luna aren't Queens is because of Disney (Evil queen, good and pure princess).

Derpy Hooves: a matter of Life and Death
starswirlthebearded replied to weesh's topic in Pony Chatter
I personally don't see how a fan response to an animation error makes her worthy of reception. The only reason that I didn't put completely overrated is because the creators have been really inventive with their Derpy inserts (usually, Hearth's was a bit too obvious). But that is less Derpy and more the creator's credit. Chancellor, I'd prefer it if she is left out of things like that. She is technically a fan creation from an animation error. Making an episode may alter fan's interpretations and thus can destroy the character. Same with all other background ponies. Leave them be, let the fans take care of them, and the creators can deal with the mane 6. It is better off that way. -
There is no doubt that Rarity has the most stylish mane. Though every pony's mane fits them in their own way. RD's is colorful, brash and for lack of a better word... "cool" looking. TS's is more sensible and a basic cut. Rarity's is stylish. FS's is long and allows her to have a coy looking. AJ's is thick and I really don't know how to explain it, but it matches with her southern-esque farmer type personality (you know that whole country girl pony look). Pinkie Pie's is fun and poofy. (I think that is everypony) So yeah... Really when you get down to it they are all equally great, because they were designed to match the characters. Just going by looks, it would have to be Rarity though. Speaking of Rarity's mane...I wonder how it goes through so much punishment without getting messed up >_> Three things that seemed to mess it up were a manticore roar, sticking her head in the trash and somehow stress (but really, the stress wasn't that bad really)... Falling from Cloudsdale at terminal velocity? Nope, still perfect... Rain? Made it flat for a bit, went back to normal shortly thereafter, no frizz at all. Mud? Her mane (and AJ's too for that matter) seem to repel mud.

Anyone going to BroNYCon this Saturday? (January 7th)
starswirlthebearded replied to GraphiteDoodles's topic in Pony Chatter
It wouldn't be difficult for me to attend. The problem is that I REALLY should go to my internship that day... I'll see how the week goes. Registration is closed too, so... yeah... A lot of issues at the moment (including money, which they don't even specify at door prices). If I can't go this time I may just go to another. Really the only person I'm REALLY interested in is Daniel Ingram. For some reason I've never really been interested in that many voice actors. Granted I don't mind meeting them when I do, but in the past I have found producers and writers far more interesting to talk to. (though hearing the VAs do the voice of your favorite character is awesome) -
Best Background pony? (Poll)
starswirlthebearded replied to Rain's topic in Friendship is Magic Series
HEY! Don't fault Dr Whooves for being a little regeneration happy! Not to mention that you are forgetting that each time we see him we don't know how much time has passed for him! The TARDIS is a time machine as well as a space craft, so it could be hundreds of years difference between sightings! -
Best Background pony? (Poll)
starswirlthebearded replied to Rain's topic in Friendship is Magic Series
Nope, votes aren't deleted unless the poll is actually reset. Edit: Unless the IP Boards system changed for polls from 3.1.4 to 3.2.3 that is. I have extensive experience with the former. This is my first time on the latter. -
Cutie Mark Crusader Frequency
starswirlthebearded replied to weesh's topic in Friendship is Magic Series
I think it is ever so slightly on the high side, but boarderlining on just right. If I didn't find those fillies so bothersome, it would probably be just right. But as it stands I really dislike them, especially Scootaloo. In fact, if she weren't there, I'd actually find them more bearable. -
Best Background pony? (Poll)
starswirlthebearded replied to Rain's topic in Friendship is Magic Series
I'm torn between Doctor Whooves and Lyra and Bonbon and Octavia. I'm actually not a huge fan of Derpy (though I love what the creators have done with her though). I suppose I'll go with Doctor Whooves on account of my whovianness... Though the other two choices make it hard.... I am especially fond of Octavia. -
Cool, I never had a chance to play for my HS team. At that time I was training in martial arts everyday. I was always defense though. I sometimes play libero though if I'm up to it (or if my team wants me to). When I played for my grade school team I often played libero because I had high stamina.

Do you play soccer on a team or just with friends? I play a bit, but its always with friends, and sometimes whatever team is at the park at the moment.
