I'd prefer a more subtle approach. Slip in innuendo when you can. If he asks if another student is present when s/he's not, say "Nnnnnnope", and see if he catches on.

He already knows I'm a brony, and I know his son is, but it sounds like he's just familiar with the fandom and not an actual part of it.

I'm working on a project I plan to keep quiet about until I'm almost done with it. I've been asking my friends what they thought of things I've done in the project so far, unfortunately I don't feel they're giving me very good feedback. I'm pretty much just looking for a single person I can get an honest opinion from as I work on the project and that can keep quiet about it until necessary. I apologize for being so secretive, but I don't want to draw much attention to this project until I plan to release it. It's alright, I don't like the high resonance on that pad though and the drums sound a little "stock" if you know what I mean. I like your bass, but I can't remember anything else that I wanted to comment on (short term memory and im on a phone)
