  1. Here's a sample of your competition. Let the games begin. http://soundcloud.com/deepbuckingbass/octavias-overture-living
  2. Actually, scratch that. I'm doing Love is in Bloom. Just for the faster feel to it. More uptempo songs are more my style.
  3. I'm taking this as a challenge. xD Jk jk. This is pretty good. I've been planning on doing one for a while, but have just been too lazy to try.
  4. Bass had found the snack table, and had already eaten a good fraction of his body weight in fruits, crackers, cupcakes, and cookies. After realizing that he was indeed at a band practice, he made himself a cup of coffee, and sat down at the table, giving a quick glance around at his bandmates. "Well, it's good to know that I'm not the only one here with prior performance experience. Now, if I may state, I do have a few more... suitable places where we can practice, besides somepony else's garage. My dad had a small building built for his band to practice. We can use that, if you want."
  5. Found this on ebay. Dude does plushies made to order and can do OC's also. This one goes for $350
  6. "Put the bunny down, and nobody gets hurt!" -Prince Midnight Flare, "Flare of Hope" by Lunar Black.

  7. My first words upon opening this thread: D'OH MY GAWD! Anyways, the RD... Want. The Twilight Sparkle Abomination... No.
  8. Alright. So, I've been working on this for about a month. This story so far is (in my opinion) my best work. Before I post the link to it, I'll give you a small synopsis. It's not a HiE story, but from the prologue, you might think it is. Basically, Seaman David Flare is miserable with his life in the navy. After losing both his best friend, and the love of his life in a supernatural incident, it only gets worse. And on top of that, he is starting to lose control of the magic he trained so hard to learn. One day, he is pulled into Equestria, against his will, and wakes up as an Alicorn, only to find that there has always been more to him than meets the eye. Will he ever fulfill his destiny? Will he ever find out what truly happened to his friends? I don't know, yet. I haven't even started on Chapter 7. xD Also, this story takes place before the royal wedding, but features heavy amounts of Cadance. Also, the Mane 6 have their small parts in the story, as with any other fic I write. I don't like centering my fics on the Mane 6, so I give them small supporting roles. Rated Teen for Language! There. You've been properly warned. Now, I proudly present to you... FLARE OF HOPE! ^That's the link, guys.^ OH! And be sure to leave a critique, and check out my other fics. I don't have a pre-reader or proofreader, so criticism is welcome.
  9. See, I want to make a guard pony, or warrior pony, but I just don't see myself being able to freehand a pony AND armor.
  10. This is awesome. Just awesome.
  11. ((For the record, Bass left to check on his daughter.)) Bass chuckled at the mare's verbal fumbling. Even the most cold-hearted of ponies would be forced to admit that it was cute. And he was no different. He was joined in laughter by his daughter, whose laughter was much more powerful. Bass looked down at the filly who was now rolling on the ground, laughing hysterically. Bass scowled at the filly, causing her to stop, and roll her eyes at her father. "I see, Miss Klutz. So, you teach foals how to sing? That's quite the noble aspiration. How long have you been doing that? It seems like the kind of thing that somepony could love doing. I for one think it would be a great idea to open a music school here, in Canterlot. I've just got my hands full, anyways. Between music, and Allegra's well-being. I just don't think I could handle a school on top of that." Bass chuckled at the idea of him heading a school.
  12. Speed. Gotta be fast. Bass was late again. Yet another prank from the pale yellow techno pony who he called a foalhood friend being the culprit. It had to be Midsy. Who else would think to turn the bells of his alarm clock into cheese but Midsy, or Bass's marefriend's sisters? Bass was flying as hard and fast as he could with his Dean Dave Mustang artist model V-shaped guitar slung across his back, his amber aviators keeping the wind out of his eyes, allowing him to keep his eyes ahead. He was invited to a band practice in Ponyville, and he was actually kind of excited to be playing in another band, after his fall from grace a few years back. Although, the whole practicing in a garage thing just wouldn't do. He wondered if he should mention both the home studio that he had in his house, or the isolated practice building that his father had passed down to him. Before he could decide, he was there. He landed carefully, making sure that his most beloved guitar was safe. He trotted into the practice space, and smiled awkwardly, trying to catch his breath. "Sorry... I'm late... everypony... alarm clock... cheese..." After a moment of catching his breath, he finally decided to introduce himself. "I'm Deep Bass, the original Bassist, and Vocalist for the band Quikhor5. And now, I'll be playing Lead Guitar for you."
  13. Bass chuckled as he listened to the mare go on. It was rare for his daughter to do things like this, so he was somewhat surprised when she winked at him, and nodded toward the mare, being sure to stand just out of her field of vision. "Well, I'm glad to hear it. Come now, I'm not that famous. At least not on Syd's level." Bass watched as she stretched out her wings, and noticed that a few feathers were either ruffled or out of place, a sure sign that she had flown here. "You aren't from Canterlot, are you, Miss Klutz?" Bass chuckled. "It's alright. I'm not, either. It's like no matter where I go, I still feel like I'll always be that record store clerk from Fillydelphia who plays bar shows."
  14. Bass smiled at his daughter, as she winked at him. "Well, I'm glad she didn't give you too much trouble. She tends to be rather obnoxious at times." Bass chuckled, and ruffled the powder blue filly's mane. Bass's voice was smooth, and pleasing to the ears, despite having the same accent as Syd. "And yes, I'm Deep Bass. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Klutz. It seems that the two of you are getting along rather well."
  15. Allegra giggled, as she watched Klutz's little scene. "Just relax. My dad's really nice. You'll see." Just after Allegra had spoke, Bass trotted up to the pair, and smiled at Klutz. "Um, hello. I hope my daughter didn't give you any trouble, Ma'am."
  16. Bass smiled at the mare, looking over her to see his daughter talking to a few ponies in the group. Uh oh... Bass bowed kindly to the mare. "And indeed, it's been a pleasure, Miss Breeze, but it seems that pressing issues have arisen. Perhaps another time." And on that note, Bass quickly began trotting back to the group. Back at the group, Allegra was ecstatic with the idea that her plan might actually work. She nodded, her grin never fading. "Yep. He sure is, and he's the best dad in the world. Oh... and he's headed this way." Allegra looked, and waved at her father, who was closing in.
  17. Bass smiled awkwardly at the mare, rubbing his neck with a hoof. "Well, I've had a rather successful career, I guess. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Breeze. And to be completely honest, I don't think we've met." Back at the group, Allegra was loving the attention she was getting from the other ponies so much that she almost forgot what she was trying to do. "My name's Allegra Sophia Aria." She lifted a hoof, and pointed at the white stallion next to Syd in the distance. "That's my dad. The rockstar, Deep Bass. He's a little shy around mares, though."
  18. Dear Princess Celestia, Today I learned that if you find cave drawings that reference an alien race creating humankind, it's probably not the best idea to chase them down to try to find answers, unless you're ready for a fight. Your faithful subject, Deep Bass. (Sorry. Saw Prometheus today. Awesome movie.)
  19. Allegra smiled at Klutz, and bounced slightly. "Cause I think my dad needs to start dating again, but he's kind of shy. I don't know why, either. I hear he was a real lady's stallion.
  20. (I don't mind.) Allegra nodded at the stranger who had just come up to her, and she smiled. "Yep! My daddy's one of the most famous rockstars in Equestria, but he has a hard time with ladies. So, I'm gonna help him out, or my name isn't Allegra Sophia Aria! Besides, my dad needs to loosen up. So... do YOU know anypony?"
  21. Bass laughed at Syd's assumption. "Trust me, Syd. I've had enough partying over the years. Besides, I wouldn't throw any party that I wouldn't want Allegra going to. And yeah, I'm more than ready for that show. It'll be the last show that Deep Bass, and Sydphony play together. It'll be one for the ages. Well, on another note. Can you believe Allegra wants me to start dating, again? I think she's losing it, but I think she may be onto something... I don't know." Meanwhile, back at the larger group: The powder blue pegasus filly looked around, after her father had run off with Syd. After a few seconds of looking, she trotted up to a white pegasus mare with a black and purple mane. "Excuse me, Miss," she said, poking Klutz's leg. "Are you single?"
  22. Bass was finally back home, after joining in on the last leg of Syd's farewell tour, and was finally getting to spend some much needed quality time with his daughter. It had been a while since Bass and Allegra had gotten to spend any time together. Needless to say, after Bass found out that his old pal, Syd was getting married, he knew that another one of his friends was finally accomplishing something that he, himself couldn't bring himself to attempt again. Bass was sitting around the house, relaxing with a nice glass of coffee, listening to a record, when he realized that it was far too quiet. Normally, his daughter was making noise galore, but it was far too quiet. Something was amiss... Bass noticed this, and instantly began looking around for the scheming young pegasus. He was scared half out of his wits, when the filly dropped out of the sky, and landed on the couch next to him. "HEY DAD!" Bass jumped about a foot off the couch, as the filly scared the living daylights out of him. "Allegra! Don't scare me like that!" "Sorry, Dad. Can we go to the park, now? You promised me we'd go when you came back." "That, I did." Bass got up, and grabbed his glasses. "Come on, then, dear." The filly practically bounced with excitement. "Alright, Dad let's go!" A few minutes later, Bass, and Allegra were walking in the park, enjoying their day. "You know, Dad, you really need a girlfriend." Bass kept walking, flashing a smile at the filly. "And what kind of mare would you have me date, boss?" Allegra giggled. "I dunno. Somepony pretty. A pegasus, too! Maybe a musical pony like you." "And why do you want me to start dating again?" "Because, Dad. You're a total stick in the mud, lately. You've been acting really boring." "Maybe you'll have to teach me how to be fun, again." Allegra giggled, and looked out at the park. "Oh, look! It's Miss Bright!" Bass looked in the same direction, and nodded. "So, it is. And Syd, too. let's go say Hi." "Okay!" The two pegasi continued trotting toward the growing group. As they grew closer, Bass called out to his friend. "Hey, Syd!"
  23. *Carries a Rainbow Dash figurine in uniform pocket.* Nothing to be ashamed of. Collecting the things you love is a normal human instinct, and should be treated as such. Kinda like Yu-gi-oh or Sports cards. *totally doesn't collect either of those* Or guitars. *Totally collects those.*
  24. I came up with an idea after hearing your vocals on it, and I'm going to lay some backing screams to the chorus to give it the heavy feel.
