    Discord is based on Q, but that doesn't change the fact that Discord can straight up mind control ponies. Despite being based on Q Discord follows different rules. Take as an example Frankenstein's monster from the book and the way the creature is depicted in movies. In the book the creature is intelligent and malicious, in many of the movies it is unintelligent and misunderstood. You have to take each one on its own since despite the movies being based on the book they are not the same character

    I see the similarities, but the story is generic enough I wouldn't call it a rip off or homage. Fun fact: According to the novelization of Gremlins Mogwai are aliens created to spread the message of love through the universe but turn evil because they were released before adequate testing could prove they turned into monsters. Intergalactic quality control could have prevented that entire disaster

    You can't bring up a character and the rules that apply to him to justify the actions of a different character played by the same actor. Discord is explicitly shown to be able to control ponies, not only was Fluttershy straight up mind controlled but Big Macintosh and Granny Smith appeared to be fully changed as well, unless constant dancing and being a dog are parts of their personality in some way. Whether or not the characters behaved in an evil fashion after being mind controlled is not the question, the initial attack, violation, and manipulation itself is an evil act. He made them all jerks, but he could have made them all super nice and with the mental capacity of a toddler, it would still have been an evil act. You can argue that Discord has to act a certain way due to his nature. Personally I think he was lucid enough and had enough self control that he could have taken part in his chaos creating ways in a less destructive fashion, but he either didn't care or enjoyed causing misery. I view Discord as a sociopath, he is very charming but cares only about his own enjoyment. We call a person who murders for enjoyment evil, evil if there is something that made them born that way, and Discord is in the same boat.

    I'm not sure how anybody could say he was good. He is basically the poster child for evil. He did things for his own benefit with no regard to how much he was hurting others, despite being well aware he was hurting them. Discord is an interesting character, but you can find a character interesting without trying to defend their actions

    Sweetie Bell is the cutest, so she is my favorite. She also has the best costume in The Show Stoppers

    I would guess that dragons grow to a certain point, at which they need to aquire treasure to continue grow. This would explain dragon's greed, they need to be greedy to grow stronger. Its also possible Spike gained enough greed between being a baby and his current point to grow as much as he has

    While not adopted myself I work with troubled teenagers. There have been a few black or black and white mixed who despite growing up in our predominatrly white area by white families that adopted them have trouble knowing how to act because they are dark skinned and think they need to act that part. I remember one in paticular who always associated with his biological family and constantly tried to connect with them despite the fact that they wanted nothing to do with him while the adopted family went mostly ignored for a long time

    My guess is the dragons get together for either the purpose of breeding, or possible just so the younger dragons can interact with each other to develope their dragony talants. The adult dragons aren't involved because it would be pointless. The young dragons are play fighting, like the young of many predetor species. All their games are designed to help them develop talants they need as adults. Its practice and excersise disguised as games. The older dragons don't need practice and would only dominate the younger ones. Dragons might be greedy, but not to the point of their species going extict

    I could actually buy Princess Celestia in the context that there were two rulers and it makes more sense for their to be multiple princeses but not multiple queens

    So Applebloom is the only one in her class with a blank flank. Until she meeds Scootaloo and Sweetie Bell who also lack cutie marks, and then apparently are in her class in later episodes. Where were they before she met them?

    I'm glad to see that it looks like its got all the mane cast. I hate how many episodes aren't featuring more then one or two characters in much more then a tiny role

    FiM has definitly not gotten bigger then Beanie Babies. FiM might have a large unexpected audience but Beanie Babies broke over to the mainstream and had far more people trying to buy them. I would say the FiM audience is probably overall more passionate about it.

    That G1 episode sounds oddly dark for a show about ponies, what with the pillaging and destroying everything. Mongolians at least let the women and children live. Those dragons are worse then Mongolians!

    Surely you aren't suggesting they were started by the same outside power, because considering the difference in world wide response it would seem they wouldn't have the same conspirators behind them

    From what I can tell Walmart doesn't carry anything outside of the toy isle and the toy selection is pretty slim. Could just be my Walmart. Target seems to have alot of pony items. I got a sweet blanket there

    I found this board while searching for another board of the same name and signed up for it out of curiosity. It looks like a fairly busy forum and that is nice. I've been on the search for a new place to forum online ever since a nasty series of misunderstanding resulted in me no longer being able to visit my last forum of choice, and I'll be darned if I'm going to do work while at work and not talk on the internet.

    I went to McDonalds because of a rumor they had Rainbow Dash. When the person was getting the toys my lady thought she saw Fluttershy in the box, but it was totally a Lilly Blossom which severely disappointing me because I am only interested in the show ponies not the random ones plus Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy would have both been the best ponies to get only furthering disappointment
