  1. ~~~Jazz Hooves~~~ Oh no... This unicorn mentioned the old princess... Welp, it was nice knowing her, even if they just met. The very fact that she mentioned The Alicorn of Old meant that she knew ancient information. Worst of all for Erget, now that she knew that was her name... She let Sunny know that she had information like that. Now they might not see the poor mare for moons! Tied to a chair in the brighthouse until Sunny can squeeze every ounce of information or of her... She even had the excited wing-flap. Aaaand then nothing happened. Sunny simply replied that the grandma would simply think that she was evil Sunny with bad smoothies. She placed her hoof back on the ground at shaking Lady Erget's, and listened to the mare as she talked about her plans. She said that she was looking for a brewery or a well established bar. "Honestly, I don't recall seeing many bars in Maretime Bay either. We do have a couple of vineyards and a winery though. They have a delicious Moscato, and their reds are pretty good too. I haven't tried anything other than that those though, so my assessment is limited. I generally only drink at gatherings myself and those are the two wines that are the most commonly provided," Jazz explained to Erget. When Jazz heard Sunny's reaction to get own story for being out there, she gave a gentle eye-roll. "Oh please, investigating is Zipp's job. She is way better at it than I could be. I just wanted to hear more music and maybe sing along. I was going to start harmonizing with Allegro as my way of introducing myself, but I didn't recognize the tune so I didn't know the progression. Though I do think a giant bell would be a nice touch. If only we had an old skiff as well. Then we could pair the two together and make it a one of the primary attractions for tomorrow night. A haunted ship from the past? Who wouldn't love that!" Jazz proclaimed happily! "Oh, and Sunny... Don't ever go evil. I'm getting a tiny ache just thinking about soured smoothies," she added, visibly shuddering from the thought.
  2. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ In that one moment, when Sugar felt the scarf wrap around her, and the press of Onyx's lips to hers... Nothing else mattered. The calm rustle of the leaves in the canopy of the trees as the wind blew was the only sounds present, and it added an extra bit of serenity to the moment. Sugar returned the kiss, gently yet full of passion. She knew that they probably still couldn't go too far right now. Just because they were alone now didn't mean they would be for long, and the fact that Onyx was surprised that no pony else was here meant that it probably wouldn't be long. When the kiss broke, Sugar smiled warmly, tucking her head under Onyx's chin in a loving embrace. "Bridlewood is indeed quite beautiful. It is full of so many wonders and has the potential to unlock so many more. But with that said, even with at it's beauty... It still pails in comparison to you," Sugar complimented.
  3. ~~~Wind Dancer~~~ The look of surprise that was on Candy's face was almost exactly what Wind Dancer was expecting. For a brief moment, it looked like Candy's everything shut down. Well, everything except her blush. Candy's face was about as red as the apples on her counter. It was clear that she neither heard Pathfinder or anticipated Wind to be so assertive. What Wind wasn't entirely expecting was for Candy to return her kiss. Sure it was on her cheek, but it was clear that she had ignited something in the mare. Hopefully not too much though. She was fairly certain that permission for a kiss was one thing. Everything else would take a lot of discussion if it was something that was even on the table to begin with. That, however, was definitely not a discussion for a candy shop... even if the candy mare running the shop was the focal point of that conversation. Then Pathfinder answered about the brazenness of cults and villains. She said that it wasn't a big deal though, because they were always villains, and villains always lose. "Eventually, I suppose they do. However, that doesn't take into account the lives that are either taken or destroyed in the process. Innocents are always involved, and they always get hurt. They don't always recover though," Wind responded as she watched the mare sort through her belongings after Candy had bagged her order. She raised an eyebrow at some of the things that she pulled out. Especially the erotic fiction, and the bombs. Just what was this mare doing in her free time? She hoped the mare knew that all those things about explosive endings in those stories were just metaphors... right? She didn't want to read about a happy accident later in the paper, but again, not the place to bring that up. She then heard Sky chime in and gave him a loving smile as he made the comment that one of the mares that had kissed was his wife. She indeed extended her wing to show the wedding band, as well as the large scar near the main joint of her wing. And then Pathfinder asked about the wedding bands and she knew that the mare had been in a few too many temples. "Nope! It doesn't unlock any secret doors, or secret passages... Well, maybe one secret passage... and they do the contain the single most important piece of treasure of my life," she said with a smile. ~~~Ice Storm~~~ Well now. It wasn't every day that something new opened on the strip of Las Pegasus. New things opening on the outskirts, yes... but right next door to The Fire and Ice hotel and Casino and the Mareage? Not so much. Ice Storm had been keeping an eye on the recently funded and procurement of the property and watched as it was furnished into the candy store that was in front of them. The first thing that she did was look at every angle that she could find on Candy running her through star. Considering that the mare was a friend of Wind Dancer and Golden Bit, she didn't think there was anything to worry about, but looks can be deceiving. This, however, was not one of those moments. Candy was a mare from Bittsburgh, and was about as honest as Applejack. The only concern that she had for Candy was how she would acclimate to the Las Pegasus culture. The fast paced city could easily sweep a pony away if they weren't careful. As it was, she had been waiting in line now, since before the doors were opened, and she kind of anticipated something like this happening. Grand Openings were a big thing in Las Pegasus, so she already had a security detail on call in case it attracted the attention that she expected. That means means with a quick buzz on her crystal she had ponies from her casino running monitor duty to make sure that the lines were not affecting the chariots and wagons. With any luck, things will be nice and orderly today, and the new business will be amazing! She could already smell the candy. Aaaand then something caught her eye that made her incredibly nervous. A pony had completely bypassed the line, and said pony herself gave Ice pause. What is she doing here? she thought to herself. Sure, there were still plenty of EPIC members all over the place, and by technicality, Ice herself was still a member, even if she had moved on to her own organization. The bigger issue was who this was. It wasn't unheard of for Pathfinder to be in the Tenochtitlan Basin, or anywhere that could hold a relic of some sort. She was also a very experienced tracker, but she usually avoided big cities because they were traceable. Then again... This is Las Pegasus, if there was anything going on that you didn't want others to know about, you brought it here. Finally, the line was moving, and once it was, it didn't take long for Ice to make her way inside, giving a nod to Golden Bit in the process. She wasn't surprised to see her here helping with the opening either. It was her building after all. Las Pegasus's own resident superstars were present as well, along with their little one... who was absolutely precious. Wind and Sky would be amazing parents. She then say Pathfinder as she was rifling though her saddle bags in search of bits to pay the mare at the register. "Well, now there's a face that I haven't seen in a while," Ice started, looking to Pathfinder. She made her way over to her and extended a hoof. "Looks like you're taking care of yourself Path... Mostly," she said, looking to the arrowheads and the explosives. "Last time I saw you, you were in a bit of a tight spot," she smirked,
  4. ~~~Ice Storm~~~ Ice listened as Rarity spoke about this Equestria. The royal guard only coming into existence after whatever caused the ground to give way. Other nations were friendly with them after Celestia burned down the changeling hives. She raised an eyebrow at that. It was effective, but it sounded like the road that she herself was initially going down. She couldn't help but wonder how many innocents were slain that had little to nothing do with the conflict they least to Celestia's decision. Still, it was made, and apparently it had been millennia ago. It has brought peace to this Equestria though. She also listened as she spoke again about her other half was she said. Apparently this Ice Storm had been Luna's lover. Adding the princess to get herd wasn't something that she had thought of in her Equestria, but if it was possible here... Nah. Raven, Mythie, Feather, and Nira were the perfect companions for her. After all of that, Ice spoke. "It seems you've had your fair share of struggles since the event. I can't even imagine what life without ground could be like. As it is, it sounds like you're version of me went at least partially nightmare. I don't know if the legend of Nightmare Moon is a thing here, but I know that if anything happened to my lovers in my Equestria, I would raze an entire city once I found out who hurt them. Love drives great power, but it's also the root of great evil. Because so it takes is a to have a loved one stolen to ignite a fire for revenge. Once that fire is lit, is very hard to extinguish." Ice admitted. "As far as adjustments and supplies... Well... This is what I'll need, or at least something similar. It has to be leak proof and absorbent. I am more than willing to compensate for any inconveniences." she added, showing rarity the contents of her saddle bag. She wasn't sure if this Rarity had the same magic with fashion that hers did, or what would have it. "With that in mind, I wouldn't mind some lunch, but I can wait until the rest of the crew eats," she added with a smile.
  5. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ Sugar felt Onyx pull her close and lean into her side as she spoke about her nightmares. She also heard the pony say that so as long as her mind remained whole, she would never have to worry about anything like that. It was reassuring for sure. She noted that memory was the key to relationships and that it helped them grow, much like the trees. Sugar smiled a bit, looking around them. "And just like the trees all look after one another, no matter their types, it's long past time ponies do the same. I can definitely say that I have a beautiful mare to look after myself," she said giving Onyx a nuzzle. As they progressed into the forest and past the orchard, they came to a brighter area of the forest. The sun was peering through the canopy with ease and it spread along the forest floor. When she heard Onyx mention that there wasn't anypony else here, she smiled a bit and gave her a nuzzle. "While I would love to meet more of the locals, perhaps it was fate that we were able to make it out here alone," she said, giving a second nuzzle.
  6. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ Sugar could tell that she was starting to get Onyx a bit worked up so she knew that she would have to dial it back some to allow the mare to keep her composure. Herself as well for that matter. If she kept pressing buttons like this it was only a matter of time before her own body started to react. Considering that they were still in public, she didn't want things to get too out of control. The mention of going to the orchards, Sugar nodded. She wasn't surprised at all to find out that some of the larger attractions here in The Bridelwood Forest was different tree formations. Honestly... with how old some trees could get and some of the ways that they grew, trees were going to be quite unique and look very pretty. The two of them stood up and started making their way outside. Sugar followed Onyx as she left a tip for Alphabittle and the cool air hit them as they opened the door. That was one thing that she could definitely get used to. The air smelled so much more crisp here than it did back in Maretime Bay. It wasn't bad there, but there was always the undertone of salty brine from the ocean. Here, there was a bit of that damp foliage smell, but it was still quite refreshing. As they walked and came up to the orchard though... the first thing that Sugar noticed... was that the trees were bearing apples... and chestnuts? She was no botanist herself, but that's what they looked like. "Wow.... these are beautiful..." she spoke before she heard Onyx say that these trees had been created back when they had magic. Looking at them now, you could see why losing it would have been such a morale drop. It made sense. All the beauty that it could make and then for it to suddenly be gone? She'd be upset too! She then made a very good point that she had never considered before. If magic was based on Friendship, then that meant it required friendships and relationships to prosper. Should they some how wake up and their memories were erased or had some sort of amnesia or something or another, then they wouldn't have friendship anymore. And if they didn't have friendship, then with everything that's been presented, they wouldn't have magic. It really drove home the fact of how fragile everything actually is. "Well, I for one hope that you do continue to remember me. For if you did not, I would be one very sad pony. Honestly... that's kind of a nightmare of mine actually. One I've actually had before as a filly. I woke up and I was at school and my mom and all my friends not only didn't know who I was, they acted like I didn't even exist. That's a feeling I never want to actually feel," she told Onyx as they walked through the orchard.
  7. ~~~Jazz Hooves~~~ Jazz Hooves smiled as the stallion returned her hoofshake. She, of course, didn't mind a little bit of sand during the exchange. They were on a beach after all, so she probably had a bit on hers as well. Still, she appreciates the gesture the stallion made to wipe his hooves off as he introduced himself as Allegro. Now that was a bit of irony. Given the talent for singing and his unique ability that had been the reason for attracting her attention, Jazz figured that the stallion's name while be musically inclined. It was just the nature of ponies. It seemed that he followed her thoughts and her eyes though as he asked the the others were ponies that she knew. She shook her head at first until Sunny walked up to them. The other mare seemed to greatly overreact, but it was clear that she thought she was in danger, so Jazz couldn't be upset. Instead, she listened as the mare spoke to Sunny and then Sunny back and then to them. Jazz turned back to Allegro. "Well, I can't say that I know this unicorn, Sunny is a regular regular at the place I work. Usually she's there with Pipp working on something, but she's a customer to a lot," she replied to him before turning back to Sunny. "Likewise! I was just taking a stroll along the beach when I heard some beautiful melodies and harmonies. I thought I was looking for a group of ponies, but I ended up finding Allegro here with a rather unique ability," she replied to Sunny, looking at the third mare. "That being said, I don't believe I caught your name miss," she spoke to the unicorn and repeating the gesture she gave to Allegro, extended hey hoof to the mare. "Jazz," she said, not knowing if she was close enough to hear it before.
  8. ~~~Wind Dancer~~~ Wind rolled her eyes a bit at the theatrics of the adventurer. She spoke is assassin's and cults being after her like it was a Tuesday for her. Ironically... It was Tuesday, but that wasn't the point, and considering the legacy that Pathfinder had it wasn't entirely far-fetched. "Na, the show is why we're here. And if there were any assassins or cults here, Commander Storm would take care of them. They would have to be rather brazen to strike right next to her home," she said as she felt the wing wrap around her and roaming the store with her. Wind just let it ride. Besides, she was heading up towards the counter and Pathfinder started talking to Candy once more. The prices that Candy spoke... If anything were a little bit low, but this was a grand opening sale. Prices could be below normal for that purpose. Still, that have her a baseline for the amount those barrels would cost. If Candy thought Windy would let her do all that work for free, she had another thing coming. Family or not she'd be giving her something. That first something came rather unexpectedly. The pegasi adventurer telling them that they would be cute together and to kiss. She briefly looked to Sky, who had transitioned into The Candymare, gave her a nod. Shrugging her shoulders. "Don't have to tell me twice," she replied, turning and planting a kiss right onto Candy's lips. It didn't last more than a second or two, but a second or two was all it took.
  9. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ It seemed that Onyx liked the idea of adding a pegasi to their group for checking out the ruins. Sure it might cut into some of their private time during the adventure, but there was no guarantee they would be able to do anything like that on the road anyway. For all they knew, nothing would be safe enough for things like that there, and untill they knew how loud they could get... Maybe a roll in the ruins wouldn't be the best thing. As Onyx finished her tea, Sugar would do the same. When Onyx went over everything, the job, the house, breakfast, she asked what she wanted to do now. She paused a bit. "Well, I know very little about Bridlewood, so why don't you show me around the city? You know the sights and sounds here. Then after that," she leaned in and whispered. "We can go back to the house and finish what we started," she said seductively, very low so that only Onyx could hear so they didn't disturb the other customers here.
  10. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ Sugar blushed a bit herself as one of the other customers took the liberty to remind them that they weren't alone here. The offer from Onyx to seek a more private space for the two of them was a very tempting offer. Enough that she shifted slightly in her seat. Still, she was happy at the moment that the topic shifted, less she lose a bit more of her self control and make more jokes. That wouldn't be a good thing after all, to paint earth ponies in that kind of light. For most, this would be their second interaction with an earth pony. A select few, their third. Aside from the ones that actually lived in Maretime Bay now. As it was, Onyx mentioned something about the ruins deeper within the forest. She didn't know how much was still there, but anything that could be from old Equestria anywhere, the best place to start would be close to home. "That sounds like a good idea. We should make that a plan for a weekend in the future then. Perhaps we can find another that could help as well. Maybe a Pegasus for some of those hard to reach places? Hard telling what all has survived there as well. Would be nice to have a flyer that could scout ahead," Sugar spoke.
  11. ~~~Jazz Hooves~~~ Jazz quickly jumped back a bit herself and scolded herself internally for being to hasty and starting the poor pony that was next to her. Once he had recovered, Jazz heard him speak about how every night was a good night for a song. Just sometimes the song played isn't too their liking. Jazz nodded in agreement. Music and sing had a way with things like that. They can accent a ponies mood based on the lyrics, the beat, it the soothing instrumental sections. Up close, Jazz was now able to pick up more about him. He was as blue as the sea that was next to them, or at least the boys that weren't covered with his cloak. His mane and tail looked like they could use a wash, and his hooves were not well kept up at all. Everything about his attire and his appearance pointed to him living on, or around the beach. "Jazz Hooves," she smiled, reaching out with a hoof before something caught the corner of her eye. A white mare with an eye patch directing a couple of others before a dark shadow got her attention. It was the shadow of an alicorn and Jazz looked up to try to find the source. She hoped it was just Sunny, but that didn't add up. Sunny's wings would make light not shadows... She briefly considered trying to find a place to hide, but the beach did not have many hiding spots. Not to mention the fact that she didn't want to be known as the mare that was afraid of small things. A shadow could be a combination of things after all that just happened to look like an alicorn. She'd have to wait for the pony to land before she could consider anything else. She also waited to see if this other mare would approach as well.
  12. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ Sugar couldn't help but laugh a bit herself, both at the thought of the sequel and the joke that Onyx made about the pegasi being the ones that were supposed to be the devouring ones. Not laugh as in to laugh off the idea, but laugh as in she thought the concept of that movie would be hilarious given what they know now. It would be so painfully wrong about everything that it would almost be like one of those cheese b-rated horror movies that were jump scares more than anything else. Now that she thought about it, Horns also kinda fit that bill. Sure, ponies didn't know it was fake at first, but looking back and watching it now, it would definitely fit in that genre. "Oh don't worry, I wouldn't devour just any unicorn," she said, leaning in to give Onyx a nuzzle. "Only one has earned that privilege so far," she laughed. "As far as the movie and the spell books go, the movie sounds hillarious, and depending on how we like horns... I don't know maybe we should pitch the concept? I mean it could always be made as parody entertainment to make fun of the old ways. I like the idea though. And those spellbooks we'll just have to find together. once we figure out a plausible place to start looking. There's a lot of Equestria that was lost to time if the old stories are to be believed. Cities, libraries, artifacts... I'm sure a lot of it would make great muse, even just thinking about what was, and what there might have been magic wise could be grounds for endless creation. I just don't have any ideas where to start looking for anything of the past, and I don't really know of anypony that might. Outside of Sunny and her father, no pony believed many of the old stories. We all thought they were myths, so we never gave them much merit. As such, most of the information that they contained were lost to time," Sugar spoke in thought.
  13. ~~~Jazz Hooves~~~ Maretime Bay had a lot of unique and interesting places in it, but perhaps some of the most captivating and beautiful were along the city's beaches. Jazz Hooves loved taking strolls along the warm sands while the waves washed in and swept back out from whence they came. The late afternoon sun glistened off of the waves as Jazz took in the scene. Sand shifted under her hooves as she walked, looking for a quiet place to relax. Everything today at Mane Melody was productive and all of her clients had interesting stories. Her thoughts were disrupted though as she heard singing in the area. Being somewhat of a singer herself, she was intrigued by the sound and she was trying to pinpoint it. It sounded like she was looking for a group of two, possibly three different ponies. She looked at all the groups that she saw, and none of them fit what she was hearing. she saw The Pippsqueaks playing over in one of the coves. It looked like they were working on a sand castle, but they weren't doing any singing. She saw Windy and one of her friends off in another spot on the beach. It looked like Windy was showing off the hooficure that Jazz had given to her at work today. It gave her a sense of pride seeing ponies showing off her work. At the moment though, once again, this wasn't what she was looking for. As she moved closer to the voices that were making the harmonizing music, she was taken back a bit. The harmonic voices were all coming from one pony. An earth pony it looked like, who was wearing some sort of robe. Curious, she started to approach the humming earth pony. It wasn't a tune that she herself recognized, but it was far from unpleasant. Quite the opposite actually. If she had an idea of what his progression was, she might even try to do a bit of harmonization herself. Alas, she did not have the ability to read minds and since she'd never heard this before, only the pony humming it would know where it was going. Instead, she would speak up with a soft smile. "Wonderful evening for a song tonight, isn't it?" she inquired trying to break the ice. Hopefully she wouldn't catch him too off guard. She didn't want to startle him after all.
  14. ~~~Wind Dancer~~~ Wind Dancer nodded to Candy when she said that she could always take Glimmer upstairs and watch her if things got too chaotic down here for her. It was more likely to happen than anypony would want to admit. Glimmer was a healthy foal for sure, but she was in fact, a young foal. She wasn't even a full year old yet, and there were a lot of things that would provide stimuli today. She also couldn't help roll her eyes a bit, almost not surprised that Candy had spent more time preparing for the opening than she did unpacking. "Just don't overwork yourself. I don't want to be rushing to the LPMC because you collapsed from exhaustion," Wind smiled. After hearing the directions that were given to Golden, Wind Dancer took initiative upon herself to do the same. Help with the flow of ponies that were coming into the establishment. A chaotic environment that would otherwise ensue would be quite dangerous. That being said, she couldn't help but get into a little bit of a sway when Sky finished tuning the piano and started getting into a Ragtime beat. She had to consciously make an effort though to keep it at just a bit of weaving and swaying, less she make a mess of her friend's shop. AS the doors opened, and Candy greeted everypony coming in, she helped to try to funnel them along the aisles while also trying to keep a clear path from the register to the door so that ponies could depart with their purchases when they were ready to do so. Many of the initial customers in the line seemed to be about Goldy's age. It wasn't all that surprising given the motif of the establishment as an old timey candy shop. She even recognized a few ponies from the Las Pegasus Medical Center from some of the times she'd gone in to make her donations. It was good to see them out and about. What she wasn't expecting was a younger pegasus to bypass the line completely and just come in through the other door, or more specifically, rolled through it. The mare seemed to bounce around the store and she seemed quite energetic already. It took her a few moments before she noticed the cutie mark. She was able to narrow the identity down to one of two ponies that she'd heard of. One of them had conventions here on the regular, and the other was a pegasus that had a reputation like the other. Honestly if they every tried doing a doppelganger trick on somepony, Daring Do and Pathfinder would definitely be able to pull it off without much outside assistance. Considering that the few times that she'd seen Daring in Las Pegasus, she was a bit more laid back on things like this, she presumed it was the latter. This complicated things a little bit because she knew the rings that these kinds of ponies traveled in, or rather the kind of things that usually follow them. Still, she hadn't heard of any major outtakings recently that didn't involve another mare from Las Pegasus, so she presumed that they were in the safe for now. And goons that would be looking for Pathfinder would have to get through Ice and her entourage to get here. No, the biggest issue that this created, was the precedent that ponies could ignore the line and charge directly in. That would lead to the chaotic event that Windy was worried about earlier. She approached the pegasus and gave her a professional smile as she over heard hear talking about how nothing smelled poisoned, complemented the music, and inquired about the taffy and the popcorn. She was also a bit interested to know the answer to those questions. Not because she though her friend would try to price gouge Las Pegasus, but because she would need to know how much of a 'generous donation' she would have to make now and then. After all, there was no way that Wind was going to let Candy make and deliever barrels of candy for her and Sky and not do something to repay her for it. Still, she answered the inquisitive pegasus. "Nope, Nothing to be found here except deliciously sweet, and sour treats. Though I do recommend that next time you see a line, that you do the right thing. It sends a bad message to everypony else that rules and order don't matter, and chaos on a grand opening is the last thing we want," she said, still wearing the professional smile before zipping back to where her barrel of candy was and returned with a small bag full. Subtle advertising. If customers saw her eating and enjoying the candy, then they would want to know what she's eating so they could try it themselves. IT was brilliant!
  15. Roleplay Type: A New Generation Name: Jazz Hooves Gender: Female Age: Mare Species: Earth Pony Eye colour: turquoise Coat: Cyan Mane/Tail: Full of volume with a few curls twisting around a ponytail at the base with a red to violet gradient. Physique: Jazz Hooves stands about average height for an earth pony mare. She is lean and takes good care of herself and keeps her appearance in tip top shape. After all, it wouldn’t be in good conscience for a mare that helps run a styling salon couldn’t take care of herself. Residence: Maritime Bay Occupation: Stylist and Singer at Mane Melody Cutie Mark: A lavander horseshoe with a deep violet, leading to indigo salon-style hoofpaint brush with some sparkles around them Unique Traits: Always looking to bring a smile to a pony’s face. Whether it’s doing something nice within the city, or working on their hooves in the salon. Earth Pony Magic: Can create bush-style trees at a stomp of her hooves, can also create small fruits and vegetables. Loves: Singing, Dancing, Music with a swingy beat, hooficures, Apples, Pears, the newly invented pearnanamelon. Likes: Helping Pipp with any new songs or inspiration that she needs. Strawberries, cherries, pretty much any sort of berry. Dislikes: Conflict of any kind, will do what she can to quickly diffuse a situation and avoid violence at any cost, upto and including running away from the conflict. Hates: Carrots, Lemons, and anything extremely sour. History: Jazz, like all other earth ponies, was born in Maretime Bay. Also like other earth ponies she was taught to fear pegasi and unicorns. Canterlogin played a large role in maintaining that ruse, and when all of that came crashing down, opportunities started opening up. Before that though, Jazz found herself constantly enjoying the presence of others, and when she was growing up she was the pony that all the mares would come to when they needed a hoof job. Even when she was a filly and got into her mother’s hoof paints and accessories she found that she had a knack for it. That was actually when she got her cutie mark. She had snuck into her mother’s room and found her makeup. Being the curious filly that she was, she started rifling through the hoofpaints, files, and other items for styling hooves. She didn’t know how to use some of the more advanced Items, and she didn’t want to make too much of a mess. She knew that her mom would tan her flank if she made a giant mess for her to clean up. Not to mention, the waste of beauty supplies. She did know how to use paints and files though, and after a little bit her hooves were silky smooth and she had them painted a vibrant purple with glittery rings and stars running along the circumference. She was so happy when she finished that she risked getting herself in trouble as she ran to her mom. At first the reaction was about what you would expect, scolding the filly for getting into her makeup without her permission. But, after going to the room and confirming that it wasn’t a complete mess, she looked at her daughters hooves and saw how brilliant they looked and the brief moment of annoyance turned into a moment of pride as she complimented Jazz. After the compliments, a small glow formed on her flank, and a lavender horseshoe appeared overlaying a hoofpaint brush that was a deep indigo with sparkles around it. After that, hooficures became pretty much a daily thing for the filly, ponies lining up around school for Jazz to paint their hooves. This continued all through school and she found that she loved working and styling hooves. It gave her a way to connect with other ponies and help them with any problems that they had while making their hooves look amazing. As time went on, she also felt like she had a knack for music as well. More often than not she found herself singing in the shower or in school plays. More than once she had gotten a lead role, and she thought that she might have had a chance of doing more with it, but helping ponies with their hooves and being able to talk with them. As luck would have it, her fortune would spin to where she would get to do both! After the first unicorn came to Maretime Bay and initially scared all the rainbows out of everypony. Seriously, after everything they had been taught, how could they think anything else initially? Though she had to admit, the whole going to war thing was definitely not her thing. In fact, she was completely against violence of any kind and initially just wanted to stay away from all that nonsense. However, once it was proven that the Unicorns and Pegasi weren’t a threat at all, and all of the magic came back, she ended up making a few pegasi friends. One of of them just happened to be pegasus royaly, and wouldn’t you have it, was a pop star in Zephyr Heights, and she was looking to open a styling salon that incorporated relaxing mane and hoof treatments along with singing and dancing! That was the best of both worlds for Jazz and she immediately applied for the position. Plus! Most of the unicorns and pegasi that came to Maretime Bay after “The Great Unification'' were actually really nice, including Princess Pipp. And Rocky, the other pegasus stylist that Pipp hired quickly became one of her go-to friends. Now, Mane Melody is open for business and she gets to work with her customers, be there for them, listen to them, and be able to sing and dance to boot! Jazz is always ready to meet a new face and make a new friend and help them through whatever they might need help with. Character Personality: Jazz Hooves is a very bubbly mare that loves spreading happiness in her own way. Whether it’s trying to talk them through a sad situation, or just helping them shine up their hooves with a new style or two. On the flip side of that coin, as much as she likes helping others feel happy, she has a hard time accepting help from others when she’s on the other end of that spectrum. In her effort to keep everypony else in high spirits, when she’s feeling sad or gloomy herself she’ll try to distance herself from others. She doesn’t want her own sadness to bleed over into others so she has a habit of trying to hide it. Character Summary: Jazz Hooves is an earth pony stylist at Mane Melody who focuses on hooficures and spending quality time with her clients. She takes a little bit longer than most, but you can’t rush perfection and she uses that time to really connect with her customers. She never wanted to be known as a pony who only worked and moved on to the next client. She wants nothing more to see smiles on the faces of all her friends. Picture:
  16. ~~~Ice Storm~~~ "I see," Ice Storm commented when she heard Rarity respond about this world's Ice Storm. "It sounds like STAR never got sanctioned here, which is as much of a good thing as it is bad. In the world where I'm from, I created my own private army to help secure Equestria's borders. After personally watching the ineptitude in the Royal Guards and they couldn't protect a single pony, let alone the rest of Equestria, I decided to do something about that. Honestly, after getting invaded four times with little to no changes in Equestrian defenses where I'm from, I'm surprised that it took this long for ponies to start taking matters into their own hooves. Alas, that's a problem for my reality, not this one." Ice said, waving a hoof. "The fact that she's hard to pin down means that she's doing her job right. Before my operation became sanctioned by our own government, I was actually planning on heading down a similar road to stop threats at the source. The entire reason I wanted to distance myself from the throne was so the princesses would have plausible deniability. That would be required given some of the things I would have had to do in order to secure Equestria's borders otherwise. But I think the way it turned out was for the better. After all, going down the other path is a slippery slope, and it would be very easy to become the very monster that you're fighting to stop." she paused. "After a time, you justify the evil that you're doing because you're doing it for the good of your nation. You justify every life you take because they were a threat. You justify every action because it was what needed to be done. You justify the pain that you inflict on others because it matches the pain that was inflicted on you... and then without even thinking about it, you become the monster, hurting innocents of other nations because one person in that nation might be a threat. Based on what little you've told me of myself here, it seems like this version of me didn't have Luna's guidance to help her through the early times of the organization, and it consumed her," Ice acknowledged. Of course, this was an alternate reality entirely. It would be foolish of her to not consider the fact that this version of herself never had pure intentions to begin with. When Rarity mentioned her not needing to worry about supplies, that they would make sure that she was well rested and well fed for the several day journey, Ice nodded. "I don't doubt it, though food, beverage, and rest aren't the supplies that I'm most worried about. I have a few medical issues of my own that require a bit of extra precautionary measures at night, and I can only fit so much into my saddle bags. What I wouldn't give for an endless bag of them though," Ice spoke. "I will, however, take you up on that drink though. This is a ship, got anything of the harder variety?"
  17. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ Sugar was a little bit surprised that Onyx would have wanted to see a movie that she would have considered degrading in her hooves, but she couldn't fault her logic. "Well, I mean we already know it's wrong one way, though I'm pretty sure that water breathing wouldn't be something that would be incredibly hard once we unlocked everyone's full potential again. Now that would be interesting! To be able to safely explore the under water parts of Equestria to!? Think of all the history we could find!" Sugar said, excited at the idea. When Onyx spoke about the acting, and time her that she had the skill and courage to try in h her heart. She was probably right, but she knew that her courage was mostly sitting in front of her. She'd have get with her, though the playful jab made her jaw drop a bit before smirking. "You're probably right... But if that's the part I get I'll make sure you're character gets pulled with me. After all... I might get hungry after the show," she giggled before licking Onyx's nose.
  18. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ Sugar nodded contently as she heard Onyx respond. She had meant what she said, it didn't matter what a ponies name was, all that mattered what was inside. Sure, it was important. It identifies the inside, but it can be changed on a whim if something comes up, like situations like this, that might call for a change. She watched as Onyx sipped at her tea, doing the same and returning to get breakfast before it got cold. When Onyx mentioned the movie idea, Sugar paused. "You know, I hadn't thought of that, but it's likely! The posters that were originally in the theater were a little bit um... unsuitable for the changing times. One of them was about a magical water breathing unicorn that would attack ponies in the ocean before dragging them down and turning them into more pony-napping water monsters. I imagine special effects would be improved a lot with actual magic in the productions though! It's something I briefly considered before, but acting and modeling are too completely different monsters. For modeling, all I have to do is give a little attitude and maybe a little bit of sway and I have the audience's attention..." she started. "Acting requires me to try to memorize lines, reactions, lighting, and adding enough emotion to make it believable all while making sure the lines can still be heard. I was actually at an audition when I was younger but got cold hooves and backed out. Though with you next to me, I could probably give it a shot again! If it doesn't work for me I can at least cheer you on!" she smiled.
  19. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ Sugar had to give pause at the query that Gloomy had presented to her. Apparently Gloomy was a name that she took after she got her talent, but her real name was Onyx. Given all of the events that had just transpired... There might have been some symbolism there and it made even more sense to how they hit it off so quickly. Still, that didn't do anything for the answer that Gloomy was expecting. Of course there was no real second thought to get answer either. There was only one correct one. "I think both Gloomy Sonnet and Onyx are beautiful names, but as for which one you choose to go by..." She started placing a good on Gloomy's chest. "That answer can only come from here. All I know is, whether your name is Gloomy, or Onyx, or any other name you decide to go by... That's not going to change the way that I feel about you and it shouldn't for anypony else either. After all, it's what's in the heart that matters most. That's why the saying is 'hoof to heart'," she smiled, making the motion.
  20. ~~~Golden Bit~~~ Golden Bit let out a small sigh of relief when she heard that she wasn't late. She was also thankful for being the proprietor of this establishment, at least until the contract was paid off. If that line out front was anything to go by, however, then she presumed that she would be surrendering this land much sooner rather than later. Especially if Candy could actually keep up with that kind of demand. When she heard Windy offering to help and that they would be here all say to help, she smiled. She wanted to shake her head and laugh, as it was the exact thing that she would expect Windy to do, but she had her own family now too! Granted, seeing her, Candy, and Sky all interacting together you could make the argument that they were family. As everything got started, Golden Bit made her way over to the door while Candy gave the instructions to her other workers and explaining to Sky about the piano that she found. If it was as old as Candy was saying that it was, it wouldn't be the strings that they had to worry about. It would have been the soundboard. Thankfully Las Pegasus is an arid environment most of the time so it wouldn't have warped, but it could have easily dehydrated and cracked. As she heard Sky start tuning it though, it sounded like everything was still in pretty good condition. Once again, she thanked Las Pegasus's surrounding dessert for that. At the mentioned of vests and armbands, she would nod. "I will take one of the vests. I can help control the flow of ponies, and I'm sure once Miss Storm steps outside this morning, if she's not already in the line... will have some of her agents helping as well. Especially if it's as bit already as Windy said it was on the way over. We don't want ponies getting hurt on the way over. In fact if I don't see her..." Golden said, looking down the line as it started wrapping around the block. "Ah, yup there she is. Right at the bend of the line. I'm sure she's already got something in motion." ~~~Wind Dancer~~~ Wind Dancer would return the hug and the nuzzle that she got from her husband before her eyes landed on the candy barrel again. "All of this just for us! Thank you so much! This all looks delicious!" she complimented, unable to help herself at this point. The temptation was too much. She would open the top of the barrel that had her initials on it before taking a few pieces of the hard candy out and popping one of them in her mouth. "Mmm!" she sounded happily as Candy gave Glimmer a few pieces of her own. "Hey Sky! You gotta try this! This is really good!" she smiled lifting one of the pieces up to him with her wing. "Cady! Cady Cady Cady!" the young foal would say reaching her hooves for the snow colored pony. Wind would have to pull her back. "Ahah! Aunt Candy is working! You to will have time to play later," she told Glimmer, trying to hold her back with a wing. She was starting to wonder if maybe they should have gotten a sitter for today, but then the sitter would have to miss the grand opening... She was thankful that the offering of candy had at least calmed her down for the moment while she munched on it. She knew that sugar would have a detrimental effect later though. She would be quite hyper and rambunctious later. She would have to hope that there would be some other fillies or colts that would come in that she could play with while their parents looked around or conversed. Of course there was the option of playing with her herself which she could do once things settled down after the initial rush... if they settled down at all today. Opening days are always a swarm. She then turned to them and said that she wasn't expecting them to help. Wind couldn't help but chuckle a bit at this. "What? You think I'm going to let the closest thing I have to a sister brave the Las Pegasus crowd all on her own? I can't be here everyday, naturally, but today I'm not taking no for an answer. Just point to where you need me, though if it's at a candy machine you might have to tell me how to work it," she giggled as Sky started working on the piano. That must have been an unexpected, but interesting find. It kinda made her wonder what this building might have been used for before. If she was being honest, it kinda looked like the type of Piano that would be seen in an old-timey saloon. If there was anypony here that would be able to get that working again, it would be her Skybear. She really felt her heart soar though she she watched Candy start walking towards the door. There was always something special to this moment. The very first time that you unlock that door and you flip over that sign. No matter how many times would come after this one, the first time only happens once. This was a moment that she was proud to be a part of, and as of now, she would smile and assist as needed, or until she received further instructions.
  21. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ Sugar smiled and then nodded to Alphabittle. Of course it would be a bit before he could have some answers. It was rather... Presumptuous... Was that the right word..? To think that even a master of crystals could tell everything about a crystal that never existed before from a glance. Though if he could then that would have been quite the feat for sure! And next Monday would be a perfect time for her to start the new job. Even if it was just see helping serve tea and looking pretty doing it. She presumed that it might have more with it now that she could make crystals, but only time would tell. Sugar would give Alphabittle a nod before confirming, "Monday it is then!" Sugar would then turn her attention back to Gloomy. The pretty unicorn's smile warmed her heart, and feeling Gloomy's hoof on her own made all sorts of feelings wash over her. She finally remembered that they had tea and scones after everything had went crazy with the revelation of the new magic. She took a sip of the tea and smiled. "This is quite tasty. I can see why it's you're favorite. And knowing that you're going to be by my side the whole way... I feel like I could take on anything," she said with a warm smile biting into the scone. "Mmm!" She sounded, closing her eyes and making them sparkle from her eyeliner. The wide blissful smile completed the look for the mare that was now enjoying her tasty treat.
  22. ~~~Ice Storm~~~ Ice Storm slurped back the rest of the noodles from the second bowl and both they and the broth were gone in a matter of a few moments. She couldn't help but let out a laugh at Blizzard's comment about Twilight. "Ha! Ain't that the truth! I bet if we left Twilight in a library long enough, she could figure out how to rip apart reality or something. Especially if it's a magical library..." Ice said with a shudder. "I don't even want to think of all the weird stuff that could happen..." As he talked about taking her up on her offer, Ice smiled. "Of course. There are all kinds of shows around town. I highly recommend going to one of Windy's shows on the weekend. The wait leading up to it is a bit boring because of you want a good spot you need to get there about the hours before the show starts at least. I wouldn't bring a book though unless you know a waterproofing spell," she cautioned. "As far as museums and the like go, unfortunately, I'll have to refer you to my friend Golden Bit. She owns the Mareage, and was one of the founders of Las Pegasus. Ice only been there a few years myself so I'm still learning all of what's there. I imagine there are some historic areas and the like that Golden would probably love to show you," she added. When Blizzard mentioned that he did have something fun planned for his next day off, or rather fun for him, she listened with interest. He had been given permission to view the Canterlot Consensus going back 400 years. "Oh wow... That is a lot! From what I heard from Twilight in the letter, I'm going to be here for a week or so... Which means I'll probably have to pay Med Bank a visit to get some more of my supplies before I go home. Though for it to be like old times again, I'm gonna have to freeze the door shut," she said, sticking her tongue out at Blizzard. "I think that would be good though. I'll be about to see if I have any siblings running around that I don't know about. I have no doubt that my mother was hurt by my leaving, but my dad could have cared less and probable would have knocked up half of Fillydelpia for all I know. A real work of art that one was. And then there's Golden Hoof, the one that caused everything. It's actually a good thing I was told he was dead... Had he not been... I probably would have used the resources I've gained at this point to take care of him myself, and I'm thankful that I didn't have that opportunity. Because that's a road that... Once you go down, and start h hurting others for your own gain... It's a road you don't come back from and makes you no better than the ones that put you to through Tartarus to begin with. It would be nice to see what other family I have though," she concluded.
  23. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ Sugar's smile started to return a bit and grow the more that Gloomy spoke. She wasn't entirely sure how much of a help she truly was, but lifting a pony's spirits definitely counted for something. Given how ponies here were reacting to Gloomy she must be a lot happier now than when she was here before, and she could only imagine why that could be. She didn't want to be presumptuous though. That would leave a bad taste in everypony's mouth and would be most unbecoming. "Indeed, just a little more. I'm still completely shocked, and I'm honestly getting more excited to find out what I can do with it! Besides, with you by my side, what could go wrong?" she smiled, looking at Alphabittle as he spoke. She nodded to his words of wisdom, and being able to get work right away meant that she would be able to lessen the strain that she would put on Gloomy from moving in with her. After all, everything just doubled. She supposed right now that the biggest thing would be food consumption since electricity was sparse here, but still good to help contribute! The last thing that she wanted ponies to think that she was lazy! "That sounds perfect. Just tell me when I can start, and what I need to do. Though since you offered to look over these crystals what can you tell me about them? Are any of them strong enough to be made into their own jewels? That would be exciting and something fun to try at home! No two crystals would ever be made the same way, so that means every piece would be unique!"
  24. ~~~Sugar Moonlight~~~ The fact that mostly everypony else in the tea shop had remained calm helped Sugar start to calm down a bit herself. Alphabittle have her a pat on her shoulder and told her that if there was one thing that he knew, it was crystals. He also told her that as the owner of The Crystal Tea Room, he could always use a pony that could make her own crystals. Well, at least her magic got her a job... It still felt weird to call it her magic though. She also heard Gloomy tell her as long as she was alert and aware, that nothing sucks really change. That she could feel it coming and her hooves flower before hoof, so she'd have a warning. "I suppose that's true... And... If I have magic now... That means whenever we start looking for the old magic and get the lost spells, I can pull my own wait instead of relying on a unicorn or pegasi to handle everything magic related," she smiled, looking over to Alphabittle. "I will need a little bit more in the way of details as to what I would be required to do, but I tentatively accept your job proposal, as long as you don't mind a few... Growing pains," she said with a sheepish smile. She still felt a bit nervous, but those nerves were slowing turning to excitement to what this new start could truly offer.
  25. ~~~Golden Bit~~~ Golden Bit smiled as Candy explained her intentions within the city as well as the shop itself. She knew that Windy had a good taste in friends. A mare that wanted to help the less fortunate become the next big candy makers? There have been a lot of ponies coming to Las Pegasus with those kind of intentions recently. After all, it was just made public not too long ago that Ice Storm created an entire organization built to help ponies that have had troubled past and in turn defend Equestria. Windy, well ever since that she helped get her wing fixed, Windy's used a majority of the bits she's made from her shows to do the same for others. She kept the only what she needed to support herself, and now support her new family as well. She also couldn't help but smile, seeing the state of the last room and hearing about the state of the apartment upstairs. The poor mare had spent so much time working that she was forgetting how to live. "I think that everything is looking great, and the three barrels that you made for Windy might be enough to sate her sweet tooth... for a week or two," she teased. "But it's so good that you want to help others as well! You remind me so much of how Windy holds herself that I know that you won't have any problems helping others. Though if you want to look for ponies that have had a troubled past, I can think of no better mare to put you in touch with than Ms. Ice Storm, the owner of the casino over there," she said pointing to The Fire and Ice. "That's something that she's specialized in as well, considering what happened to her when she was little. She has a database of information that I'm pretty sure rivals the Canterlot Archives. If you want to find out something, she's the pony that can find it out for you," she smiled returning the hug to her. She then heard Candy say that she was thankful to have her as a landlord, and as a friend. Her hug tightened. "Just remember, I'm only your landlord until the land is paid for. After that, everything here is yours. You're the one that put all the work into it. I just provided the bits," she added, giving the mare a gentle nuzzle. When she said the apprentice board had sent her a few applicants she smiled. "Well then, I'll leave you to handle that. As for opening day, there's not a chance that I will miss it. I will also to spread the word around... ~~~Opening Day~~~ It was the day. Golden Bit was running a bit later than expected. Being a little bit older of a mare, sometimes issues flared up that would require some extra attention before it would allow her to truly begin her day. After taking care of a few things, and getting her leg to respond the way she wanted it to, she was able to freshen herself up and make her way out the door. She had made her way to the receiving door. It looked like Sky and some of Candy's Family were there, as well as who she presumed were the apprentices that Candy was looking for. Much to her surprise though she didn't see Windy. She figured that she would have came with Sky, and suddenly she was worried that something had happened. Then she heard them and let out a sigh of relief. Glimmer looked to be exceptionally active today which told her everything that she needed to know. "Sorry I'm late myself," Golden started to Candy. "I'm not as young as I used to be, but at least I'm not the last one here," she giggled as Windy finally entered. "Hopefully I didn't miss too much." ~~~Wind Dancer~~~ "Glimmer! Get back here!" Wind Dancer yelled, trying to chase the hyper filly who was more content to play with her mom than let her try to get her ready. So far the Glimmer Skies had all of the energy that she had when she was a filly and she was finding out first hoof just how her parents felt with her before everything happened. She blew a puff of air through her mane and got an idea. She calmly closed her eyes, and felt the wind around her. Then as soon as she felt the wind change around her, she pounced and then she had Glimmer in her hooves. "Ha! Gotchya!" she said, electing a bunch of giggles from the filly. "Alright you, we have to get ready. Daddy's already holding us a spot and we don't want to keep Auntie Candy waiting do you?" "Cady!" Glimmer squeaked. "Yup! Now we just have to get ready," she said with a smile and a small laugh. So far motherhood has in fact been quite challenging, especially with the performance schedules but it was entirely worth it. She finished getting Glimmer changed and ready to go before placing her in her bouncer before getting ready herself. She decided that it would be a good day to bring out the black and blue nebula dress that she had made for her and Sky, with the jacket that he spoke of on one of their dates. They wore it on his first performance and also for the first performance that they put on together. She finished getting everything on and put on a small amount of citric scented perfume before she picked up Glimmer and started making their way towards Kandy's Kaleidoscope. She remembered the letter that she had got from Candy that she was supposed to go to the receiving door instead of the front door. "Alright Glimmy, hold on to momma now," she smiled as she pushed herself up into the sky. Perks of being a pegasi was she didn't have to fight the hoof traffic on the ground. She started flying towards the candy store, and the route was one that she had practiced numerous times and was one she knew like the back of her hoof. It was the same route she took to the Mareage. Considering it was right next door to the Mareage and technically on their property so it didn't take her too long to get there. She couldn't go as fast as she was used to with Gimmy in her flight harness. She was just as squirmy as she expected, but was watching everything around them as they flew by. As she started to approach she had to stop for a moment and look at the line that had formed. It wasn't just to the next intersection, it looked like it was now starting to wrap around the block. "Uh oh... I think Candy might need some help today," she said before flying back to the recieving door seeing that Candy, Sky, Golden, and few others were already starting to make their way inside. "I'm Here! Sorry I'm late! Glimmy decided dress up time was play time," she giggled before walking in and noticing the barrels with their initials on it. She just managed to catch Sky talking about their sweet tooth, talking about her ability to put away chocolates and sweets, and how Glimmer seemed to be taking after her mom. That made her happy to hear. He then said something else, but it was hushed and she couldn't hear it. She noticed the blush though and could only imagine what it might have been. Still, it made her prideful that she was appreciated in that light. Until she met Sky, that kind of stuff wasn't something that she actively thought of. Well, that was a lie, it was, but for different reasons. Showmares were always painted in the light that they would always seek and lay with anything. She was hoping to change that image and she liked to think that she did that emphatically. Today wasn't their day though, Today they were here for Candy. "Oh wow, this all looks great! We'll be here all day to help as much as needed. When I was flying in I noticed the line was already wrapping around the block," she smiled.
