  1. Books had watched the other ponies begin to introduce themselves. They seemed more than happy to be doing so. Which was actually quite nice, seeing that they at least were enjoying themselves. The majority, though, was mostly Pegasi, and about an equal amount of Earth Ponies and Unicorns. An odd mix, though it truly didn't matter. The Pegasus gave a nod to each pony introduced, followed by a murmured "Hello" to each. They did have interesting names, he guessed. Though he could have pondered the meanings for their names, his attention was now upon that of Glad Tidings, as she made quite a show for a few moments. The house, amazing only moments before, was now stunning and beautiful. He gave out a large breath of awe. "Well," he began, "That's one of the most amazing things I've seen." Doldrums nodded in agreement. "Ain't gonna deny that." Her attention turned back quickly to the ponies, who had introduced themselves. "Nice names," she said with a rather large smile. Just as she was about to open her mouth and speak, one of he ponies began singing. Mojo, she believed. He had whipped out his guitar, and began singing about Hearth's Warming Eve. Not long after was he joined by his two companions. The unicorn didn't have a singing voice, so she just hummed along. Mercutio, awakened by the chatting, sat up on her back. A small yawn escaped his mouth as he rubbed his eyes. Festivities? Why was he not told that they'd be going somewhere? Though he was rather fond of the sight. He stood on his two back legs and looked up, at the bubbles. They sparkled beautifully, due to the light positively radiating from the house. A small, lost bubble found its way towards him. And popped as he reached out to touch it. Books saw this, and slightly chuckled. He looked at Glad Tidings, the pony responsible for this. "So," he began, "You put this whole thing together on your own? Or did you have help from.. Uh.. Oh, yes, Derpy?"
  2. It wasn't on Books' "Top Ten Places I'd Like to Be", though the young stallion did not really mind being where he was at the moment. He did mind, though, about who he was with. Besides the coffee coloured pegasus, a unicorn filly trotted along. She was more of an older filly, though not so near mare-hood yet. Doldrums, the young thief whom Books had come to know after a strange.. experience. She was happy as ever, her mane and tail bouncing along as she trotted. A wide smile was spread across her lips, and her pale green eyes shone with excitement beneath her shades-- which she always wore, no matter what time of day. A badger on her back was fast asleep, though. Not sharing the excitement it's owner held. "Latte! We're here, look!" The mare chirped as they had finally reached their destination. Though Books should have been used to her sudden outburts, the pegasus still jumped up and flitted his wings for a moment. Oh, how he loathed when she did that. Often it.. Was annoying, really. Though Doldrums paid no attention to how she scared the male, so just continued on. "I can see that, Doldrums," Books replied. He slightly shook his head, returning to the ground and walking besides her once more. Upon them, they saw a few other ponies had gathered. About seven were here already, and adding himself and Doldrums, Books felt that possibly more ponies would come with time. Inside, he died a little. Gatherings weren't his thing-- He often came off as a smart-mouth and slightly hostile to some. Often called "cold". If it was his choice, he'd be off at home, though Doldrums dragged him along. The duo came to a stop. Well, apparently they weren't the only newcomers. Ponies had already begun to introduce themselves to one another, which meant that it wouldn't be so awkward. "Come on, Latte! Let's introduce ourselves 'fore things get weird." Doldrums murmured to Books, so none of the others would overhear. "Coming," he responded, "Sadly." They came upon the group, and with a smile on Doldrums' face, she flipped her mane. "Hey, everypony. Hope it's not too late to join'in the introductions? Well, if not.. I'm Doldrums! An' the coffee coloured kid--" She had begun, though was interrupted by Books. "Kid? Doldrums, I am older than you, and not a 'kid'." With a wave of her hoof, the unicorn went on. "Well, the pegasus besides me-- His name is Books!" She ceased to introduce the badger on her back. Mercutio, it seemed, would not be introduced.

    I haven't been on in forever.. Like, in months. So look. It's a doodle. Of Books.
  7. Books 'Latte' The tall Pegasus paused for a moment, looking left to right. Where was he, exactly? One moment he was.. Didn't the stallion just pass that place? Though Ponyville wasn't too small, or too large, or anything like he was used to, Books still found himself getting lost. A few Ponies had tried helping him, though they were always unable to give him correct directions. Like, which left did he go? At the first stop, or the second? Around what corner? It was always so.. So.. Confusing! A few direct directions would be fine, really, but no, everyone gave him blunt ones! I ask for directions to the park, and I'm not even given that correctly.. Ugh! I should have stayed home today, possibly have some tea or whatever.. The stallion grumbled some unidentified curses beneath his breath for a moment before sighing. Usually, parks were very noisy, though he had made an exception in going on this small trip. The scenery in Solstice Heights was beautiful, though it was just.. The same thing. He needed something different to visit, he guessed. Nothing should ever be the same. Books perked up after a few moments of thinking. In another direction, he heard crying-- Most likely that of a foal. Poor thing. He should go and see what was up, though.. Maybe the guarding of the foal was doing the job well? Hm, who knew. Right now, he only wanted to find the park. After a moment, he paused-- Maybe the crying was from the park! Or, well, who knew.. The Pegasus rounded a corner, and trotted after the crying. He stopped in his tracks once he realized it was just a small filly on the back of an Alicorn, and a Pegasus. An odd trio indeed. ".. I need to follow my gut less often.." He mumbled. Nope. Not the park. It never occurred to him that the Alicorn was Royalty. Honestly, he didn't pay much attention to that type of stuff.. Though the only Alicorns he'd heard of were Celestia and Luna, (and they were royal!), maybe this was just a special case.. Meh!
  8. The stallion rarely visited Cloudsdale. Though he desperately needed to visit, since it was errands. Books was observing. The body structure of a Pegasus, the motions they made in and out of flight, the average life of one. Honestly, he was unable to view himself. Cloudsdale was the perfect place to go! Why, with all of the Pegasi everywhere, it was the perfect place to see all of the things he needed! Oh, this new book would be a huge success! This was his second book, yes, though this would manage to be his first ever to be published. He was hoping that-- "H-Hey!" The Pegasus stopped in his tracks, glancing down at the sheet of paper that had smacked into his face. He quietly scanned it for a moment. Slightly interesting, yes, though.. Books stopped thinking for a moment. Then his gears returned back to normal. That's it! If he went to these tryouts, he would be able to view the Pegasi all zooming around, in motion! Oh, it would be simply perfect! Lots would be there, he was sure of it.. Even if they were not, oh well! More than likely, though, he'd be unable to just stick around and watch them. The Pegasus sighed. He'd have to do a small tryout, just to be able to stay long enough to watch them. The coffee themed Pegasus began to ascend off the ground. He slowly made his way to the Cloudeseum. He was more of a average speed pony, and not very fast. Though being average speed, or a 'slowpoke' like he's been told, was very natural to him. Books didn't care about speed much. It was all about grace and movements to him. He knew Pegasi that were both fast and graceful, but had some flaws. He noticed the much slower you were-- Well, you didn't screw up as much. Books hurried just a tiny bit more before slowing down as the place came in view. Down below, he noticed some Pegasi had already appeared. He lowered a bit, before his hooves gently touched the clouds. Well, at least a small crowd was attracted. He'd be able to watch a tiny bit.
  9. I guess that's a pretty good idea.. She could maybe be delivering some ink to Books?
  10. Yay! That's nice to know. c: The friends and rival thing would be very interesting, I guess. Who doesn't like rivalries? c;
  11. Seems pretty neat! c: I have one character, Books. I guess he might be pretty neat for her to hang with? c:
  12. (Oh my, Phil, I'm sorry. I didn't notice Rarity had talked to Books just until now, my mistake. ><) Books nodded to the Unicorn, who handed him the milkshake. He placed four bits on the counter, saying a small "Thank you".. The stallion turned around, gently sitting back. Some time to rest, thank Celestia.. He gentle sipped at the milkshake, and the distinct shadow of a smile appeared on his face. That Unicorn really knew her stuff.. Huh, maybe he could ask her to teach him a few things.. The Pegasus looked at another Unicorn. She.. Oh, right! She had spoken to him, and he had been busy! "My mistake. I didn't mean to ignore you, if it looked like it was on purpose. I was just focused on Lore's question, is all. I think I recall seeing you at the Wrap Up, though I may be wrong. And, indeed, I am new to Ponyville. I've flown over a few times, though I don't think I ever took much stops." Books paused for a moment before carrying on. "I'll keep that in mind. Who knows, I might need some fashion for inspiration of my books.." The Pegasus paused again, before sipping at his milkshake sheepishly. It was obviously rude of him to interrupt Rarity in the middle of her conversation with Lore Weaver. "Er, my mistake for interrupting you two.. Obviously, I don't talk much, though I don't like getting in the middle of other's conversations.." The Pegasus sighed. He had a lot to learn about other Ponies..
  13. Ooh, okay.. I'll fix it right now!
  14. Books glanced at the Unicorn who seemed to run the place. His attention was now on her. "Hello," he said, "May I please have a chocolate milkshake?" He waited for a moment, before he heard a response from Lore. "Excuse me." The Pegasus looked back at the other pony. The stallion didn't have much in reply for Lore. Maybe his name was Books, though that didn't mean every other pony thought he was named that because he liked books, right? Oh, to him that didn't even make any sense. "I do like books, though I couldn't have chosen my name. Ponies do say that your name is who you are, but I don't actually believe that. My mother Fairy Tale wrote books, nonfiction ones. My name is Books, but it could have been something like Story or something. Writing is my thing-- I like it a bit more." Books paused for a moment before continuing on, getting back on topic. "I'll look into it." "Sorry about that," Books said, turning around and looking back at the Unicorn behind the counter.
  15. Books was quietly scanning the treats when a voice interrupted him. Glancing up and looking over, he noticed a purple unicorn talking to him. Of course, someone he didn't know.. And, of course, another pony who's name he'd have to learn. The stallion sighed, closing his eyes for a second. Guess he'd have to respond, unless he wanted to seem rude. Which he didn't want to-- It was just who he was. "Eh.. Hello, Lore Weaver.. My name is Books," the Pegasus mumbled. Sighing, as he knew the conversation would soon come to a stop, he continued on. "I'm known as Latte by my few friends, though." Books had few friends, and he wasn't afraid to mention it, he guessed. It wasn't abnormal or anything. Other ponies these days just didn't.. Well, appeal to him. Most just enjoyed gossip, and it wasn't his things. He'd rather talk of stories and writing. No one was fond of that, though. Books glanced around at the other customers. He hadn't recognized any of them. These ponies seemed unfamiliar, until one caught his eye. He had seen her before, he recalled, though he never spoke to her. Small place this was, he guessed.
  16. A Pegasus slowly moved his ways through the sky, keeping an eye on what went on in front of him. Every once in a while, a small bird would fly above him, before swiftly fleeing. The small creatures seemed like they had other things to do, and not follow the Pegasus around. Maybe a place to return to, with things to do.. Nests to be made, chicks to tend to, food to gather.. And what did he have to do? Books couldn't do much at home, besides write. Though writing just wasn't coming to him. Ideas evaded him, and often was the stallion met with writer's block. Wouldn't it be best if he just took a break, and possibly went out for a treat? He deserved it, in his opinion. Not like anything bad would happen! Right below him was Ponyville, too. He had met a few ponies while helping in the Wrap Up, and would possibly meet them there. Or maybe not. The stallion slowly flew downwards, before gently reaching the ground. His hooves touched the road softly before he was fully on the earth. Glancing around, he wondered where to go. Though Books didn't need to wonder much, as something caught his eye. It was a tent, and it seemed to be gaining quite an amount of customers. It seemed welcoming enough. 'Frozen Delights' it read. Though Books preferred his 'delights' warm and hot, he'd make an exception for this. The Pegasus slowly trotted over. All he wanted was a treat-- Hopefully not much chit-chat. Unless the pony was able to help with his writing, he wouldn't bother talking to them much. Ugh, and Celestia forbid he met an annoying pony.. Somepony calm and quiet and not weird would be nice.. "Excuse me, miss?" Books said, looking at the mare who seemed to be the owner.
  17. Uh, hon.. You should change 'Mare' to 'Stallion' in Age. Mare is for female ponies, and stallion is for male ponies..
  18. Thank you~ Now I just have to wait~ >
  19. Books followed after the mare at a steady pace, careful not to drop the foal. Things seemed to be going swell, by the looks on everypony's face. They were all content with the way their work was turning out. Though most of what they were doing seemed nearly done. If only he had arrived around the beginning of the wrap-up-- It would have possibly been more fun, and better than anything else. "Excuse me, miss, but you never told me your name," the stallion said, after dropping the basket in his mouth onto the ground, "I wouldn't want to go on--" "Mmm.... this... is.... good... (snort).... thanks... zzzz... Mom... zzzz." The stallion stiffled a small chuckle. Huh.. The kid was thinking of his ma. Well, wasn't that nice? 'This is good', he had said.. He was most likely dreaming about food or something. Man, Books wouldn't mind some food right about-- "Oof!" Books nearly fell over as he felt the colt's pup jump onto his back. It would have been nice to be forewarned about this! He and the foal could have both fall down. Resulting in both getting hurt, both asleep, and both dreaming of food. Picking up the basket in his mouth again, the Pegasus followed Cheerilee. Hopefully they'd be able to give the food to the animals already. It was nice, knowing that ponies had to do so much just to get things up and cheerful!
  20. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria/Mane Name: Doldrums 'Dolly' Sex: Female Age: Older Filly Species: Unicorn Eye Color: Light green. Coat Color: Purple Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Both her mane and tail are long and wavy. A kind of reddish color. Physique: Tall, slightly underweight. Cutie Mark: None. Origin/Residence: Gallopocus Islands Occupation: Street pick-pocket. Motivation: Don't you ever wake up, thinking "Wow! Today, I'm going to do good things?" Well, I can't say that I necessarily do, though the thought sounds great! I mean, come on, waking up, taking in the fresh air-- Then finding some poor pony to steal from. Just imagine the treasures they might carry with them, the things you'd find.. Likes: Thieving, playing, sleeping, eating cake. Dislikes: Snitching/snitches, other thieves, pie, time and watches. Character Summary: Huh, a background check? You're pulling on my leg! .. Not literally, but you know what I mean. I'm not going to tell you a lot about me, though I'll tell you a bit. If it can satisfy you and keep you from bothering me much, I guess I can do fine. Though once I'm done, just don't tell anyone-- Okay? As a young filly, I spent my time in school.. You know, listening to the teacher ramble on, blah blah blah. I tried my best to listen, though I think I didn't manage to do much of that. I kept my mannerisms at an okay degree, I guess, and did most of my work. I talked a lot, actually, and got into a bit of trouble. My ma treated me well enough, I guess. With the amount of dinner she made back then, it was unmistakable we had a huge family. I was the youngest of the bunch. Most ponies think that ma's and pa's treat the youngest better than the more older siblings, though, it was never that much for me. I was just another silly filly to my ma and pa, you know? My mom was a baker for a place called, "Pie Down". It's not the coolest name, I know. Ma was the owner of the place, too. She was a hard working mare, I can tell you that. She came home late at times, with the bake shop staying open till midnight. She was always tired, and well-- Grouchy. In the morning, though, she was nice enough. My pa was a stern daddy. Unlike my ma, he wasn't ever grouchy. Actually, he was very optimistic! He spent his time making clocks and watches, anything that told time. Pa worked at home in his study, and he never left the house only if it was necessary. My pa was loved all of us, especially my ma.. I guess I messed up along life during my foal years. Like I said before, I tried my best to listen to the teacher, though I got into trouble a lot. Education wasn't something that mattered much to me. I'd disregarded it, and always got scolded for doing so. I wasn't one to really like learning. Not many foals were, I can tell you that.. Unless they were a teacher's pet.. In my younger filly years, I tried to do better. I didn't do a great job, though I did alright. Huh, well.. I'unno how to really describe my personality! I'm not overly optimistic like my pa, or slightly pessimistic like ma. I'm just mellow, cool me. I go with the flow, not against it. I'm not an entirely secretive pony, though I guess I can keep most secrets. Honesty and fibbing go half and half in me, I guess. My tales, though, are made to keep my flank off the streets. I'm not really that serious. I can act like a comedian from time to time. Though, I just choose to do my job and try not to talk to those that bother me much! Other: I never stopped my magic teachings. As long as I can remember, I've always practiced. I can't say I'm the "best-unicorn-in-the-world-cuz-I-do-awesome-magic", but I'm good at it! Most of the time.. A bit of the time my spells go awry and do the exact opposite of what they were supposed to do, though it's hardly anything bad. I tried turning my badger pink, though it stayed it's normal color! That's good, right? (I swear, though, I think his nose turned pink..) Ooh, I have a pet badger named Mercutio! Pretty fancy name, right? I call him Mer for short, though, or maybe Mercury. He tends to like being called "Mercoolio" though. I don't understand why, really. Adding "cool" in his name isn't very cool, or awesome. It's alright at the least, though. We have this cool way of communicating. It's something only between us. You know, no one understands him! I mean, he says something, and everyone thinks he's playing around! Only I understand him. No one else. (Ooh, right.. My friends call me Dolly at times! Don't ever call me that-- Ever!) Okay, I'm done.. Now, don't you tell anyone what I've said! ((Note: About Doldrums saying only she understands Mercutio, there's no telepathy link going on or anything. Like a child, she often puts words in his mouth and just guesses what he means.))
  21. I confess that no matter how much people say it's gross, I put ketchup on my chips. c:
  22. "Thank you for volunteering to take care of him." The young stallion had been preoccupied with wondering what he could do. Books looked up, glancing at the mare. He had not heard most of what she said, though luckily he was able to catch onto that small fragment. "No problem, really.. Though I can offer to help with more," he said, adjusting himself into a better holding position. He didn't want to drop this foal. He already hurt his head once-- He didn't need to do it again. "I wonder if he will remember this Winter Wrap Up at all when he recovers?" "Huh, I doubt it. First thing this little guy would want is food, I bet." The stallion didn't know what to do as he saw the mare walk off to help with the vegetables. On his back, there was little space, though just enough to hold one basket. If he was lucky, he could put in another.. Plus, his mouth would be able to serve as help. Trotting over to the table, he tossed a basket onto his back, careful not to his the foal. Grabbing another between his teeth, he tried to talk. "Aleast ah am ale oo elp."
