1. Constant nearly fainted when he saw Lily. She looked simply fantastic. Even better than what he had expected, and he had rather high expectations to begin with. She must have truly amazing stylists - and her own natural beauty certainly helped as well, no doubt. He smiled a bit nervously. "Y-yes, let's go. I-I'm sure you're starving." He cleared his throat and began to lead her to the restaurant. It wasn't terribly far away - they were in a very classy area of Manehatten, and there were plenty of gourmet restaurants nearby. He had, naturally, chosen the most exclusive and expensive one he knew of. His parents were more than willing to oblige and pay for whatever he ordered - after all, it was amazing that an egghead such as Constant was finally getting out and about - especially with a date! The restaurant was just around the corner, and they arrived within five minutes. He turned to Lily and smiled. "Of course I made reservations. Only the best for my date!" he said, proudly. He strolled inside as if he owned the place and walked up to the host. "Table for two, under the name Constant Shift, please!" The host nodded and lead them to the table. They sat down and were given two menus. Constant picked up his menu and began purveying it, but he found it rather hard to order - the beautiful Gilded Lily was sitting just across from him and was rather distracting, after all!
2. "Way ahead of you, slowpoke!" Sniffles couldn't help but giggle as he went running down the mountain, flapping his useless wings in sheer joy as he ran towards the ground below. He looked back, grinning at Verity, when suddenly - he heard a snap as he tumbled towards the ground, face first, as he neared the bottom of the mountain! His eyes widened as he began to tumble the last few feet, gasping and yelling, before finally landing in a pile of leaves. He sat up, dazed, looking around, seeming very confused and very much in pain.
3. That evening. Constant left his home, shaking a little bit from nerves. He was quite used to dressing up, so to speak, but never had he had to actually convince an audience - let alone a model as stunning as Gilded Lily! He had dressed the very best he could while still looking relatively "casual" - a jacket and a blue tie, to be precise, with two expensive-looking saddlebags strapped to him. He took a deep breath of the crisp night air and began to walk back towards the location of the show, to pick up his date. A date! Constant, despite his popularity at school, had never actually gone out with a filly before. Something about him seemed to dissuade potential mates.Perhaps it was that he was too good, and it frightened potential admirers. Or perhaps he was so popular that everyone assumed he had a fillyfriend. Or maybe it was because he- no, it couldn't be that. He was far too convincing to be revealed so easily. He stopped as he reached his location, shuddering a little in the cold air (and a bit out of nervousness, admitably!). With a deep breath, he approached the backstage area and straightened his poster. He may be a nervous wreck, but he couldn't let Gilded Lily see any sign of weakness! He was the bravest colt ever - and he had to prove it. He knocked on the door with a deep breath. "Hello? It's me, Constant! I'm here to pick Lily up!" Meanwhile, Picture Perfect had been doing his best to help pick out outfits for the young, innocent Valen pick out an outfit, although Rarity, for the most part, had that bit covered. He turned to Rarity, holding a formal, if somewhat simple, dress. "How does this look? I think it would suit Valen." Of course, at that very moment, there was a loud knock on the door as Constant finally arrived. Picture Perfect jumped a little, before handing the dress to Valen. "It will have to do!"
4. Constant seemed to be a bit stubborn about being pushed out the door, keeping his hooves down to make it as difficult as possible. "Alright, great! I'll see you at eight o'clock, then! Have a great evening, Miss Lily! As the door is slammed behind him, Constant Shift couldn't help but give a little jump of joy and cheer. His plan was successful! Finally, he'd be able to escape this wretched city and go on a tour across all of Equestria. That is, provided Miss Lily accepted. But why wouldn't she accept? Think of the fame, the fortune! No sane pony would ever turn down such an offer! And if Miss Lily did have her doubts - well, Constant would be able to convince her otherwise over dinner. He was known to be a very persuasive pony, after all. No mare, or even stallion, could resist his charms! At least, he hoped. Meanwhile, back inside the backstage room, Picture Perfect stood next to his "friend" Photo Finish, nodding in agreement. He agreed with Photo Finish - such a journey would be the opportunity of a lifetime, for both Photo Finish's career and Valen. However, Picture Perfect decided to take a more delicate approach. "This is great, Valen. Think of the possibilities! You can see the world. Besides, this Constant Shift character seems nice enough - perhaps a genuine friendship can grow out of it?" He smiled reassuringly at Valen, trying to encourage him.
5. Constant blinked, a bit surprised and unnerved at Gilded Lily's reaction to this wonderful opportunity. What filly wouldn't want to travel across Equestria and show off her insane beauty? It seemed like every filly's dream - not that Constant Shift would know that sort of thing. He was at a loss for words; his wealth upbringing made him used to getting whatever he wanted, yet this Gilded Lily seemed extremely unwilling to do what could be extremely beneficial to herself! Was it nerves that stopped her, or was it something he said? However, as he was being pushed out the door by Gilded Lily's insistence, he quickly heard an opening. She mentioned that she was hungry! Of course! The way into any filly's heart was through her stomach. Everything was clear to him now - Gilded Lily wanted, no, needed Constant to invite her to dinner before anything could be done or accomplished! With a prideful smile, he pushed his way back through the door. "Oh! Of course! How rude of me. You must be starving after your brilliant performance," he began, shaking his head slightly, clearly ashamed at his own rudeness. "I understand perfectly. You cannot make a decision until you have had dinner - which is why I would like to extend my cordial invitation for me to take you out to eat! I'll pay, of course."
6. Sniffles caught the gemstone easily and eyed it. It certainly was a pretty find. He grinned and looked back up at Verity. He had a feeling that the two of them would get along excellently. After all, she was able and brave enough to trick dragons - fully grown, terrifying dragons! He flexed his wings, waiting patiently for Verity to head back over to the opening of the cave. He simply could not wait to get on the road - it had always been his dream to travel across Equestria and beyond, and finally he had a guide and companion to assist him! This... zebra, or whatever she was, was extremely helpful, friendly, funny.. the adventures they could have together made him excited just thinking about them! "Wow! That was cool!" he said, smiling. "But uh, maybe we should get moving..."
7. I did specify the greatest if 2012 (seeing as the competition was Wow ). What's your username? I'd love to play with you! Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk HD
8. I noticed there wasn't actually a thread dedicated to the greatest MMORPG released this year, so I decided to make a thread about it! Post your in game handle, server, and what guild you are in here. I myself play on Tarnished Coast, the unofficial role playing server. I RP an Asura, haha. 9. "Console" is still fairly misleading term. It's a gaming PC designed with controllers in mind. All it will do is play PC games on steam. There will be no games exclusively for this system, hence why it is not a console. Either way, I'm super excited about the steambox! Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk HD
10. Constant Shift couldn't help but smile. Everything was going according to plan so far, and it seemed the two mares in the room were in agreement that the show was at the very least a good idea. If this worked, it would be simply and absolutely perfect. It would allow him to see more of that absolutely stunning and beautiful Gilded Lily, as well as finally fulfill his parents' wish of getting away from his home and studies to go out and see the world - which he wasn't complaining about, after all. he had always wanted to travel, but never could make a real excuse for it. If he could convince the model now, everything would be perfect. He smiled as convincingly as possible, turning to Gilded Lily. "Well, it seems apparent to me that it wouldn't be much burden on your designer at all. Besides, think of the opportunity! A chance to see the world, a chance to gain the fame you deserve, a chance to be beautiful in front of ALL of Equestria - why, I get dizzy just thinking about it! So what do you say, Miss Lily?"

13. I really like this character. A lot of thought was put into it and you put a lot of fascinating stuff in your application - better than any app I think I've made, hehe. That aside, although this application has no glaring flaws, there is no such thing as the perfect application. Although none of this is strictly speaking necessary, it could potentially help the app if you expanded just a tad on the history (though you put a lot of information in the cutie mark story - very good work on that front!). You talk a bit about her mother, can you tell us just a smidge more on her father and family in general? In addition, you talk about how she gained and lost many friends - can you perhaps tell us how she gained and lost those friends? And you mention two relationships she was in - can you tell us more about that? That seems like an important part of a character's development to me is all! Your personality/summary is also great, but you mention mood swings, and what they are like, but I'm a bit confused as to why she gets these mood swings, as these are generally a result of early psychological development. If possible, you could expand more on this. That being said, your application is far above standard and all of the changes I mentioned are merely optional additions - good work, fine sir/madame!
14. Usually, Sniffles would be very much supportive of mischief - especially mischief against his own kind. Dragons were mostly so serious and so mean all the time that it was simply entertaining to mess around and have some fun with them. However, if there was one thing Sniffles had learned from his many encounters with his own kind, it was not to steal from them. Ever. Even if they were sleeping. You see, if dragons were cranky usually, they were extra cranky when they woke up and found something missing. Sure, it seems like there's a lot of gold and gems in one particular dragon horde, too much to keep track of, but adult dragons were so greedy and selfish that they were actually able to keep track of practically EVERY piece of treasure in their stash. He approached Verity carefully and said, "Well, that sounds fun and all and you can try but... Dragons are notorious misers. If he wakes up and finds out something is missing... Well, just be careful, Verity!"
15. I wouldn't mind a banner for Gears "Sparks" Clockwise!
16. Hello and good morning, one and all! My name, as I'm sure you are familiar, is Chapien. I'm an RP helstaffer and lore builder here at Canterlot. However, I haven't exactly been doing my job adequately, nor have I been role-playing with many people outside of my own little clique and even then only occasionally. I am deeply and profusely sorry for this, but there is indeed a reason, and a good one! For the past few months, I have started my senior year of high school - and of course, college applications. Although school is no longer as demanding as it was - not by a long shot, college applications were the most stressful thing I've been through. You see, my major is game design, and there are very few colleges in the United States that provide an adequate degree program for such a major. One such college is DigiPen Institute of Technology - lauded by the ENTIRE industry as the greatest education there is for games (after all, the entire team that made Portal went to this school, with the original concept for Portal being a student project). Now, DigiPen has much laxer requirements on grades (3.0 GPA required) and SAT scores (1700 is the average), and I far surpassed both of those (3.45 GPA and 1880 SAT score) - but DigiPen is notoroious for its difficult essays. In fact, you have to write four of them just to apply (they can be found here for anyone who is curious as to what I went through: https://www.digipen.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/requirements-for-fall-2013/application-essays/ ). The fantastic news? The last week of November, I got my acceptance letter! I'm going to the best school there is for game design, and I'm going to pursue my dreams and, well, make video games! And now that the high of just how awesome my future is going to be, and with all of my high school tests nearly over, and winter break just around the corner (ONE MORE WEEK AUGH), I am FINALLY ready to devote time to Canterlot again! So what do you say, Canterlot? Can you ever forgive me?
17. It was at that moment when Constant burst through the backstage door, panting loudly, his glasses crooked on his face, his fine suit ruffled. Getting into the backstage area was far more difficult and challenging than he had expected. usually, he could get wherever he wanted with his money, but the rather annoying mare who had been standing guard outside didn't seem to accept bribes, even of considerable sums. So, he had to resort to more extreme tactics; throwing a napkin into the mares face and then galloping full speed towards the door, smashing into it and arriving into the backstage area. He glanced around and saw several ponies. One was the instantly recognizable Photo Finish, another was a pony who dressed startlingly similar to Photo, another less recognizable white unicorn who he felt should be someone he should know, and finally, the reason he had come here, the model Gilded Lily. Taking a quick moment to straighten his glasses and tie, he smiled at the group. "Ah, hello there. My name is Constant Shift and I just wanted to say... the show you put on was simply marvelous. I absolutely loved it. I simply had to come back here to express how amazing I felt the show was - particularly the bit with my personal favorite model, Gilded Lily," he smiled at Gilded Lily, "and that I'd like to see more. I understand that this was a one time show but... you see... I'm of a rather wealthy background myself and I think that this show could do far more. I'd be willing to 'convince' my parents to fund this show to become a tour across Equestria, showcasing the designer's wonderful dress - and of course, the wonderful model!"
18. Sniffles peaked his head over a ledge. He had already made it to the cave, it turned out, and Verity was just behind him! He grinned at her and said, "I think we're here! That wasn't so bad, after all!" It was no surprise that Sniffles was such a good climber. He was a sky dragon, and though he couldn't fly yet, he had spent the majority of his childhood up in high mountains. Climbing was almost literally a requirement for survival throughout his life, and that was only doubly true when he had left his nest to live on his own. If it wasn't for his skill at climbing trees, he likely would have had great difficulty finding safe places to sleep at night. Seeing that Verity was close, he decided to inspect the cave entrance. It was rather big, as to be expected, and there was a massive amount of smoke emerging from it - meaning that the dragon was likely taking a nice, short nap. And by short, he meant a couple hundred years, of course. Old dragons were very, very sleepy, especially after they had just eaten a large pile of jewels. This dragon was likely old, large, and fat, Sniffles thought with a slight giggle. He slowly began to tip toe into the entrance, a slight smile on his face.
19. The show gradually drew to a close as more beautiful models passed down the runway and back. The show was over within another hour, though Constant Shift wasn't really paying attention after Gilded Lily had passed. To him, she was clearly the most beautiful filly present - and he simply had to meet her! The moment the show ended, Constant immediately began to head towards the back of the stage. He would get to see the fabulous Gilded Lily - one way or another! ---- Picture Perfect was the last pony to return to the backstage. Photo Finish had immediately grabbed her camera and headed to the back of the stage moments after the show ended and the crowd dispersed, but Picture Perfect was left to clean up the rest of Photo's equipment. He didn't complain; after all, he was used to being her impromptu assistant from time to time. Carrying Photo's equipment, he headed to the stage and opened the backstage door, entering the preparation area they had been in just a few hours ago. Everyone else was already there, Valen included, who was still looking positively fabulous in that dress.
20. Sniffles couldn't help but giggle at Verity's apparent aversion to the climb. Climbing was easy! Sniffles had been doing it virtually all of his life, after all. He quickly headed to the base of the mountain and began to skitter upwards, crawling up rocks with ease, his claws giving him a level of grip that nopony could posses, allowing him to climb with relative ease. And though his wings were far too weak to allow flight, they served as a convenient balancing tool to prevent him from plummeting off of the face of the mountain and facing an untimely end. After a few moments of climbing, he looked down, seeing that Verity was still quite a few meters behind him. He grinned and shouted, "Need some help?"
21. Awesome. I'm still determining if I should create a new character or use Sparks, but I'll let you know once I do decide. ^^
22. Is it too late to jump in on this? I'd love to create a new character for this, or perhaps use Sparks (though he isn't particularly good at magic, so I'll probably make a new character).
23. It's odd. It seems the episodes most people can relate to (ie the Fluttershy, some Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle episodes) I cannot relate to at all, and yet episodes others cannot relate to (Mostly Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie episodes), I relate to completely. This episode was no exception. I don't feel that it was the best episode ever, but it's certainly one of the most emotional (for me) because I understand completely what Pinkie was feeling thorughout the episode (having felt similair emotions throughout my life). Pinkie Pie episodes may not be my favorite episodes. They are, however, the ones I understand and relate to the most, and the ones most likely to get an emotional reaction out of me.
