  1. Wow, Starswirl, I sure feel one-upped. Luckily, you're a few years older than me; I have time to catch up. ... Time to catch up... I feel awkward saying this in public, but I want to make sure this point isn't lost: I just found a perfect role-model (no pressure). Being in this community, I happened on someone who's on a very similar path as myself, just farther along, and quite successful. Not everyone has someone to look up to. More people need heros. Real heros, not just sports figures or famous actors. I can't speak for everyone else, but I've found all the support and inspiration I've ever needed from this community. Thank you, everyone.
  2. Hello, parents of some stranger from the Internet! I'm a full-time college student who gets good grades. I don't drink or do drugs. I appreciate theater and the arts. I teach Karate part-time. I actually teach many children, and to be honest, I'm kind of hurt that you believe that, just because I'm a brony, I'm more likely to be a pedophile. I understand that a bad first impression is difficult to change, but please hear us out. I've never met this Thoth fellow, but I'd like to stand by him. We share more than a common interest in a TV show; My Little Pony stands for sincerity and friendship, honesty and compassion. As older men/males, we've spent plenty of time on the Internet. We've had a glut of irony, trolls, and biting sarcasm, and we're ready for something real. We honestly love the show and the community that has formed around it. I also have a single mother (I assumed, since no stepfather was mentioned. My apologies if I was mistaken), a father, and a stepmother. They still don't entirely believe that I really enjoy this show. I've been asked several times, both subtly and explicitly, if we were watching the show on drugs, or if there was some other ulterior motive. I've told them the same honest truth as I mentioned above, and while they still don't understand my affection for this show, they accept it and me. I'm very thankful for that, and for the good relationship we all maintain. I know that you must be afraid for Thoth. You have legitimate reasons to be concerned; I have no doubt that you've seen horrible things. It is the Internet, after all. But look here! His plea for help has been answered by so many helpful bronies. I've never seen a more supportive group of people anywhere. Yes, there's that 1% of us who are reprehensible, just like in the rest of the population. But please believe me: you couldn't hope for a more positive, uplifting group of people for your son to associate with. Thank you for reading.
  3. I bet you could write a program to count them.
  4. XD I haven't played neopets in quite a while... Every now and then I'll go back and check it out. Gah! How did I forget that? I'll have to go back and watch the pilot again... and all the other episodes... And oh look! Another fan of the Mother series. Yay!
  5. Oh, wow, the site just told me that other people posted, and it let me view them before I made my post! That's hardcore. This place is already better than the facebook.
  6. XD Yeah, thanks. I first came up with it as my Neopets name when I was, like, five! I've just held onto it ever since. Eventually I'll have to get myself a respectable, adult email address, but today is not that day. Also, this rank system is very clever! I especially like how banned members get a Luna cutie mark. It's sad, but kind of funny. I don't remember where "Crazy oatmeal" is from, though. Pinkie Pie must have said it at some point, but what episode is that from?
  7. Thank you, Winter! Yup, I mean the deal with Thoth. I've been wondering for a while, if I were a pony, would my cutie mark have to do with programming or Karate? It's not like those two really go together. Also, I'm not sure if either of those skills would make me a unicorn or earth pony. Frankly, I'm in the middle of a pony identity crisis. Not a bad place to be, all things considered...
  8. About Myself: Well, I'm a brony from Arizona. I go to college at UAT, where I study Game Programming, which is even more fun than it sounds. I work part-time teaching Karate to small children, and in my spare time, I play video games, usually old-school Pokemon or Final Fantasy. How I found Canterlot.com: Actually, I'm only here right now because a friend led me to this: where some poor guy is having trouble with his dad and stepmom about being a brony. I'd love to help him out. Now that I'm here, though, I'll definitely check out the rest of the site! How I became a fan of MLP:FiM: Some guys at my college were really into it. I wasn't sure that they were being serious at the time, but eventually, since they were such cool guys, I gave the show a chance. The rest is history. My favourite main cast pony/s: Miss Rarity,Rainbow Dash,Twilight Sparkle Of course I like ALL the mane cast ponies, but these are the ones I love right now. Even more than those ponies, though, my favorite pony is Applebloom!
