1. Belle smiled and closed her eyes as she listened to the trumpet echo off the sandstone cliffs and valleys surrounding them. She settled onto her haunches to rest for a moment, letting the big hunk of metal balance against the ground to take the weight off her neck. After a few stanzas of relaxation, sirens interrupted the brassy bebop. She was sad for the peace to end, but she knew there was a war to fight. "Up and at 'em folks, we have work to do!"
2. "Pleasure to meet you, Reveille! My family owns a farm, and I'm not really suited to do much else with this body. The government needed ponies that could carry over 300 pounds, and well...here I am."
3. Belle rolled her shoulders, readjusting the yoke holding the gun. "Okay, that wasn't so bad." She slowly makes her way back to the locker room, where she briefly saw some accessories available for sale on her way in. She can't help but notice the stallion with the rather dangerous bazooka-thing staring at her. She gets it a lot when she's out in public - part of the problem with being a workpony. After she selects her items, she slowly makes her way back again to the rest of the group. "I'm Belle Plaine, by the way."
4. "Yes, sir!" Belle moves slowly in front of the small medic, putting herself between the girl and the robots, still firing away. She was glad there seemed to be a leader of this outfit that knew what the heck was going on. Her eyes widen as she sees a large, bulky robot run by with a bomb strapped to his back. That can't be good! She makes a little circle around the medic, mowing down the robot with the bomb before he can get too far. "Should I be protecting this?"
5. The colouring seems to match more, though the size doesn't - Wiki and some other sites say the females are about 1/4" or less - though I can't be certain, I'm pretty sure this one was closer to a full inch with its legs. I would be thrilled if it's this harmless one instead. I'm not worried about Widow bites on myself, but rather, our cats
6. I couldn't see the underside of the abdomen, which is where the "hourglass" would have been if it was a Widow. The spider was an inch or less in size. It looked black to me with light spots, but the hallway was dark, and the camera flash made it look brown, not sure which colour it actually was. I'm so nervous right now, because if it WAS an immature Widow, that means Momma isn't too far away...and I have no idea if they are in the house or if this one just wandered inside.
7. Bug Master, I hope you're still around... So last night when we came home, this guy was crawling across the inside of our door: I know the picture isn't the best, but I didn't want to get any closer to it. I had the hubby promptly kill it, because anything with a large abdomen makes me think of poison. I submitted the picture to whatsthatbug.com, and the reply I got was that it looks like an immature Widow. To me, it still doesn't seem like it matches. I'm curious to know your thoughts!
8. Over the roar of her spinning gun, she heard someone yelling at her. "Yes, I think I'm with you!" she yells out, and hits the button to start firing, seeing the first flashes of metal coming around the corner. She comes to a stop and her eyes widen as robots upon robots come bearing down on them. The gun is still firing, though, and as she sees a couple robots mowed down, she shakes her head to snap out of it. "Wow..." She looks down at the gun, amazed at its power without her even doing anything. With that, she throws a leg over it to help aim it, and starts mowing with passion. She's got a job to do!
9. Sorry about that, guys - been so busy and overwhelmed that I had two mini-breakdowns the last few days. Weeeee!
10. Belle Plaine stomps her hooves nervously as the train comes to a slow stop in Coal Town. Had she known traveling by train was going to be so slow, she would have left a day earlier. She was raised to be early for everything, yet here she was, on the most important day of her life, showing up an hour late to Orientation. She swipes her shiny ID card and smiles as the door beeps and grants her access. At least something seemed to be going right. She raises her shoulders, making sure the massive weapon around her neck is balanced nicely, and steps forward. "Hi all! So sorry I'm la--" Belle's words trail off, as she enters an empty room with nothing but dust swirling in the air, freshly kicked up. She hears a voice calling out over tinny loudspeakers. "Oh no! I'm REALLY late! How does this thing work again..." She rushes out into the dusty yard as fast as her stocky body can carry her, poking around the gun trying to find that stupid switch. The Brass Beast was modified to more easily work with hooves, so it was a simple lever that brought the gun whirring to life, and a button that would make the bullets fly when she chose. She leaves the gun spinning as she glimpses the tail ends of what appear to be her comrades in battle. "Guys, guys, I'm here!" She curses her large stature as they all get further and further away from her, even though she is galloping at top speed.
11. I wanted to join the first map, based on other characters there - Kirby? Official approval?
12. Roleplay Type: Mane vs Machine (Coal Town) Name: Belle Plaine Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Earth Pony Eye colour: Brown Coat: Brown with white ankles/feet and white stripe down face. Mane/Tail: Black, both braided up. Physique: Clydesdale – large working horse. Occupation/Class: Heavy Cutie Mark: A plow Team: Blue Loadout: Brass beast/Sandvich/Bare Hooves, also carries the Sandvich Safe. No hat, she likes the ribbons in her hair. History: Belle Plaine was born into a farming family out past Ponyville. As soon as she was old enough to run, her parents hitched her up to a plow and she worked with the rest of the family. Since she was too far away from any towns, she was home-schooled and her only company was her siblings and her books. The books couldn’t pick on her or sass back, so they became her best friends. Shortly after being declared an adult, there was a need so desperate that it made its way out to the boonies – Equestria needed strong working ponies to carry the latest in battlefield artillery, the minigun! Being raised to honor her country, and with her parents’ blessing, Belle Plaine traveled to Ponyville two days later to attend the physical testing. Her large frame and muscles from labor made her an excellent candidate, and she was drafted on the spot. Who cares if she didn’t know a thing about weapons? They could teach that. She also saw it as an opportunity to meet new people and maybe make some friends. Character Summary: Very down-to-earth and gentle, with a work ethic like no other. She takes her job as Heavy Weapons Pony seriously and will do what it takes to protect Equestria from the robot invasion. You might want to stay back, though, because she isn’t quite sure how to aim this thing yet…
13. So. My husband was given a hermit crab for his birthday. We had been discussing getting one since August or so, but I was really against it. They just creep me out, and trying to hold one gave me the willies something fierce. I don't think I'll ever be able to touch this little guy.
14. Oh my goodness, the peacock spider is adorable and that footage was awesome. They're so tiny!
15. Oh my god. That video gave me all sorts of willies. Random story for you: Our kitten room has to have the door kept shut, and there is was an air conditioner in the window. Flies kept getting in, and since the door is shut, they just stayed in that room. There are quite a few. We took the A/C out of the window today and found a giant spider egg sac in the window track. I guess they knew where the food was! I had my hubby get rid of the egg sac, as well as change out a sticky trap we had on the window for the flies. He said "You know, I'm getting rid of two things that get rid of flies, instead of just letting the spiders hatch." I didn't find it amusing.
16. Norma couldn't help but giggle, overhearing their conversation.
17. Norma blushes as she catches Fungus looking into her eyes, though she isn't sure if he's admiring them or staring at them like a train wreck.
18. Pinkie was actually my first Beanie Baby. My brother and his wife stayed at the Flamingo Hotel for their honeymoon and got it there, so they gave it to me.
19. I believe it was this one: http://www.bbtoystore.com/store/BC_1zipAB3rd.html It was a big deal because the all black one was retired - the newer version at the time had white on it. This site is selling it for $200!
20. Oh my gosh. These would be perfect! It doesn't help my deaf ear - I have complete neural loss in that ear, so I can't even hear through bone conduction. However, one of my problems is that since I am deaf in one, I can't just leave one ear open like other people, so when I have the ear bud in, I can't tell if someone is trying to talk to me. I need to research now, I would love something like this that just wraps around one ear and not the whole head.
21. I think every artist is like that, honestly.
