  1. Contacted Dubstep and he has given the OK for me to pursue an adoption on this character. I understand that as part of the process, I must resubmit the character here first. I kept most of the original approved bio, but I did 'tweek' it a little so the character would work better for me. Thanks to Thunder Boomer, I now have an older image of Starflower on display here: This bio is NOW ready for full consideration http://www.canterlot...file.php?id=422 [Adopted Pony Related Character €€œ with permission from Dubstep] Name: Starflower Sex: Female Age: Older Filly (nigh on Mare) Species: Unicorn Pelt Color: Bluish-Gray Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Violet mane and tail. Long, freeflowing mane, cascading down onto her back and shoulders. The tail is long and flowing too, but not long enough so as to trip on. Eye Color: Blue Cutie Mark: Star Anise pod Physique: Slim, but firm/toned Origin: Hoofington Roleplay Type: Support pony Occupation: Nurse Motivation: To make everypony healthy and well, and to take care of those who are sick and injured as best she can Likes: Taking care of others, singing, having time for quiet reflection, reading, hanging out with friends, Spring and Summer, warmth Dislikes: Violence, merciless ponies, injuries, sicknesses, death, alcohol, Autumn and Winter, cold Character Summary: Born and raised in Hoofington, Starflower is no stranger to ways of the sailor ponies and the rest of the rabble who make their haunt among the docks. Now and again, fights would break out, whether as a result of testosterone, wounded pride, or alcohol, and Starflower could barely bring herself to watch. Being so young, she didn't believe she could do much at all, and she would stand by helplessly, feeling utterly useless. That all changed one hot, Summer afternoon. A particularly bad fight had occurred, with one sailor being beaten by an entire group. They had done a good number on him, and left him to suffer. Starflower, overcome with grief and pity for the poor stallion, had her mother help bring him to their house. Once there, she began to do everything she could for him: bandaging his wounds, applying poultices that she had been reading about, creating a splint for one of his broken legs, and so on. She was so busy tending to the injured sailor that she didn't notice that her cutie mark, a Star Anise pod, had appeared on her flank. And from that day forth, Starflower, with the help of her mother and father, set about becoming a proper nurse, eager to help sick and injured ponies recover. Soon, ponies of all sorts began to come to her, seeking her help. With her father's help, she has made an addition on their home, creating a sick ward where she can tend to patients. Over the years, Starflower's sick ward was moved to a separate building and developed into a full fledged hospital with a small staff and many volunteers who desire to follow the founder's example of selfless service to others. Older now, Starflower is not as active working in the hospital as she used to be, but still feels compelled to help any pony she can anytime she can. Even when travelling on leisure, the dedicated nurse mare carries her black bag with her and is ready to lend a helping hoof to those ponies who are ailing.
  2. Jubilee is ready to be reviewed by the mods now.
  3. [ Pony Related Character ] Name: Jubilee (Stage Name: Jubilee Flyer) Sex: Female Age: Filly Species: Pegasus Pelt Color: White Mane/Tail Color & Style: Blonde, flowing Eye Color: Green Cutie Mark: Metronome (hidden under her wing in this pic) Physique: Smallish, but stout Residence: Nimbusgait Lakes Occupation: Aspiring Singer, Musician, Entertainer Motivation: "To someday make it big in show business" Likes: Sapphire Shores (as in member of her fan club), having fun, showing off Dislikes: Critics, 'pushy/bossy' ponies, Character Summary: Jubilee grew up in Cloudsdale with her loving but overbearing parents. They kept pushing their young foal to become a great flyer that could one day be a candidate to join the Wonderbolts. Young Jubilee tried hard, practiced her flying everyday after school to improve her skills. She wanted so badly to please her parents, even if it meant less time to socialize or make friends. It was her Flight School friends who introduced her to Sapphire Shores recordings. Immediately, she became a HUGE fan and started to dream of sharing the stage with her, singing and playing music with the pony diva. Jubilee began to sneak away from flight training to practice singing and taking music lessons from an older Pegasus mare music teacher who wanted to nurture her potential. This went on for about a year before her local Flight Camp had their own Best Junior Flyer competition. Thinking their daughter was a shoo-in to win, Jubilee's parents began to boast to the other flyer's parents and brag about how she'd make it big as an aerial ace. Jubilee wanted to win, but her young heart wasn't into competitive flying anymore. She wanted to be an famous entertainer and she knew she had the talent to do it. Though her mind was distracted with thoughts of music stardom, Jubilee managed to race well enough to qualify for the Championship Final Race. During that final race, on the last sharp turn, the young Pegasus went too wide and missed her slalom cloud and was immediately disqualified. Her parents took Jubilee aside and began to berate her for her lack of focus that cost her the race. It was then she announced that she really wanted to be a famous entertainer and had been taking music/singing lessons in secret with her music teacher. It was at that moment, the moment she stood up to her parents to tell them the truth that her cutie mark appeared, a musical metronome. That was the last straw for her parents! Their dreams of having a daughter in the Wonderbolts shattered, they grounded Jubilee and took out their rage on the kindly old music teacher, blaming her for corrupting their daughter and trying to get her fired from her teaching job. Unable to cope with the situation any longer, the music teacher quit her job in Cloudsdale and accepted a position teaching at an exclusive Music and Arts Academy in the Nimbusgait Lakes region. Before she left, she offered to enroll Jubilee in the school to nurture her unique musical and singing abilities. After telling her parents of her desire to attend the prestigious boarding school, they went into a rage. Quickly trotting away into the living room, Jubilee hopped behind a piano and began to play a classical piece of music. The beautiful music so moved her parents, they stopped their ranting and began to tap their hoofs and enjoy what their daughter was playing. At that moment, her mom and dad realized how stubburn and unfair they'd been with Jubilee. After a tearfilled group hug, they agreed to allow Jubilee to attend the special school in Nimbusgait Lakes. She excelled in school, and also finally found the time to relax and enjoy leisure. During one of her relaxation flights over the Nimbusgait Lakes, she wasn't looking where she was going and crashed into a huge pile of hay. When she regained her bearings, she felt a friendly hoof pulling her out of the collasped haystack. It was a young Paint stallion with a peace sign cutie mark. He introduced himself as Mojo and the two began a long friendship. Jubilee admired the stallion's 'happy go lucky' outlook on life and his overall calm demeanor. Mojo was happy to have a friend who could visit him on his family's isolated communal farm. The two became best friends, vowing to keep in touch even after Jubilee graduated from the Academy. For now, Jubilee performs in small venues where ever she can find work. From time to time, she auditions for orchestra jobs but still always managed to keep in touch with Mojo. When her friend announced his intention to become a travelling salespony, Jubilee supported his decision, knowing that she would also be doing much travelling as well to pursue her dream of stardom. For now, Jubilee continues to entertain where she can, hoping someday for that 'big break' that will propel her to the top of the charts and be like her idol, Sapphire Shores
  4. Actually, on the official closing credits of each episode, Rebecca Shoichet is listed as providing Twilight's 'singing voice.' Rebecca DOES sound a lot like Tara though...
  5. Buenos Dias! (I think I got that greeting right) Welcome to the herd!
  6. Welcome to the herd, fellow brony! I think you're going to like it here!
  7. I'm a newbie here, and I didn't see where this specific question was covered, so I'll ask it. Are an approved char's parents automatically 'playable characters' or do they have to be 'approved' by staff BEFORE they can appear in any RP? The reason I ask is in my first RP I am tending to an injured Pegasus in the Nimbusgait Lakes region. 'Mojo' is going to need some help to tend to her needs and unless some other ponies come to assist, he'll have no choice but to send for his parents. Just asking this question proactively to avoid any confusion or problems later.
  8. Trotting along a nearby road was a Paint stallion with a peace sign cutie mark. His name was Mojo and he pulled his large wooden peddler's wagon behind him. Mojo was finally realizing his colthood dream to be a travelling salespony, offering a fine selection of hoofmade arts, crafts and books of poetry along with a selection of fresh veggies from his parent's communal farm near one of the Nimbusgait Lakes. How excited the Paint Stallion was! Ready to see all of Equestria, meet all sorts of new ponies and see sites he had only imagined or seen in pictures! Mojo was like his parents, 'free spirited' ponies that many would refer to as 'hippies.' "All you need is love!" Mojo sang with his slight British accent, "All you need is love! All you need is love, love, love, all you need is love!" Mojo paused shortly, coming to a complete stop as he turned his head to look back, "So long mum, dad. This is it! My adventure begins!" As he turned his head back around, he spotted a slight movement in the distance, out in a grassy field. "Groovy!" he said with a smile. "Me first look at the flora and fauna away from home! Far out! Need a closer look." Mojo unhitched himself from his wagon, set the wheel parking brakes before grabbing a large tripoded telescope with his teeth and set it up by the road. "Now, let's 'ave a good look," he said, turning the telescope and focusing on the movement in the field. "Blimey! That's a Pegasus out there! And she looks hurt! It's not cool to leave a fellow pony stranded in her time of need! Gotta help her!" Quickly disengaging the wagon's parking brakes, tossing his telescope back into his wagon and rehitching himself, Mojo carefully trotted off the road and into the field towards the fallen Pegasus. "Far out! Glad this field is rather flat so I can maneuver me wagon on it," the blue eyed Paint stallion said as he rode on until he was very close to her. Unhitching himself and setting the parking brakes again, Mojo rushed up to the Pegasus, marvelling at her light pink color and green swirl cutie mark. He then noticed something that took him completely by surprise, this young Pegasus filly was missing her back left leg! Mojo also gasped when he spotted the long scar on her left front leg. This was when his experience of being raised on a farm caring for livestock came into play. Mojo could tell that her leg had been amputated long ago and that her scar wasn't fresh. This meant that there was something else physically injured on the pink filly's body. "Pardon me, Miss. The name's Mojo and I'm here to help! Try not to move, you may have broken bones. I'm no doctor, but I learned First Aid as a colt. Can you tell me what hurts?" As he asked his question, he then noticed the filly's kind, emerald green eyes, but could see by her facial expression that she was indeed in great pain.
  9. ** jumps and shouts like young Twilight Sparkle after she was accepted into Princess Celestia's magic academy ** YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! (Am I getting a little carried away here?)
  10. Oops! The pink reins threw me! I stand corrected
  11. ONLY due to more screen exposure, the answer must be Pinkie Pie. She reminds me of a line I heard a silly acting Daffy Duck speak in a very old Looney Tunes cartoon as he walked on the ceiling: "I'm so crazy, I don't know that this is impossible!" :-D :-D
  12. Bet this Disney pony's a possible mate for Maximus! Why not? Isn't Disney all about mushy love stories? Even between horses? :-)
  13. Thanks, Skye! Added Residence to Mojo's Bio: The Great Nimbusgait Lakes To quote Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receiver Chad OchoCinco from his podcast several years ago, "Now I'm done!" :-)
  14. WOW! Lots of interesting debate going on here! First of all, on the question of Nightmare Moon's banishment, it seems that both she and her sister are near god-like in power and stature. Threatening to keep Equestria in 'eternal night forever' counts as a serious crisis to me. Without the sun for a prolonged period of time, agriculture could not grow and the entire land would become colder and colder. Kinda think that would end up possibly killing all life, INCLUDING every pony (who would either end up starving or freezing to death). When you think of Nightmare Moon's FIRST rebellion against Equestria in THOSE terms, Princess Celestia had every right to stop her sister by banishment for 1000 years. Secondly, to be fair, as soon as Nightmare Moon got freed, SHE somehow 'banished' Celestia (though the details aren't all that clear from that episode) and Celestia would've STAYED that way had it not been for Twilight Sparkle's efforts. Third (and I think this an important point to make) after her defeat and transformation back to Princess Luna, she APOLOGIZED to her sister and ACCEPTED her offer of friendship. This indicates that Luna KNEW she was in the wrong, otherwise, why the apology? Now, to imply that Princess Celestia was out to 'ruin' Twilight Sparkle's life by offering two Grand Galloping Gala tickets to her is, in my opinion, wrong. If that were true, then why did she (a) send seven tickets when Twilight pointed out the problem to her and ( at the end of the GGG says that she was 'delighted' Twilight's friends could come to help 'liven' things up there? Also, if Celestia WAS truly mean and cruel, why didn't she imprision Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy for trashing the palace? Of course, on the other hoof, why wasn't Princess Luna at the GGG with her older sister? Also, as for Twilight's comments in "A Bird In Hoof" about Celestia 'banishing ponies' and 'locking ponies up in dungeons, she was obviously FREAKING OUT over Fillamena and didn't know what she was saying. We've witnessed this sort of behavior from her before in "Swarm of the Century" after the parasprites started destroying Ponyville. Haven't we all had bad situations where we 'feared the worst' before? To be perfectly honest, I'm just not buying the 'Celestia is evil' argument. I'm CERTAIN that in Season 2, we're NOT going to see Celestia and Luna fighting for control of Equestria in a epic battle that will rival the big fight scene from the Lord of the Rings movie. THIS IS A CHILDREN'S SHOW! Sure it is a 'guilty pleasure' for adults, but at it's heart, MLP FiM is a cartoon designed for the preteen girl demographic. I'd have a hard time believing the writers of the show would go DARK SIDE on us. Of course, all this is just my opinion, feel free to disagree!
  15. Actually, I did that too! The first post is IDENTICAL to the one I just posted at beginning of THIS page. So, it is done, pending approval of the mods here.
  16. I voted for Zecora because she's mysterious and speaks a lot in ryhme! And to sum up the reason I also voted for Big MacIntosh: "YYEEUUUPPP!"
  17. Applejack reminds me a lot of my own superfur character Texas Tilly, a masked bobcat cowgirl who rides her cybernetic horse Silver to fight crime in the Colmaton/superfur universe. One of my readers once described Tilly as "A female version of Yosemite Sam," which might be true. LOVE the way Applejack talks!!!! I also voted for Pinkie Pie because although she has no 'magic' to speak of, she seems to be able to defy gravity, logic and break the 'fourth wall' on the series at will! Also her 'chase scenes' with Rainbow Dask are CLASSIC!!! Annoying? Yes. Fun? YES YES YES!!!
  18. Fellow ponies, I have a serious question. In a large portion of the fanart and fanfics I've read for MLP FiM (I admit I haven't seen/read them all) there seems to be a trend to view Princess Celestia as a 'tyrant' or as a ruler 'with an iron fisthoof'. There's even a comic series I saw that has Twilight Sparkle and her friends acting as 'underground agents' to overthrow Celestia's brutal regime! Anypony have any idea why this is happening? Personally, I like BOTH Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. I truly hope Luna gets more 'facetime' in Season 2. They were meant to rule Equestria TOGETHER, and I have no problem with that.
  19. Oops! NOW I figured out why I'm not getting any action as far as the approval process is concerned. I kept re-editing my ORIGINAL post instead of creating a NEW post here with my NEWLY redone bio! My bad! Here it is, and thanks to everyone for all of your helpful suggestions! Name: Mojo Sex: Male Age: Stallion Species: Earth Pony Pelt Color: Brown with White highlights Mane/Tail Color & Style: Brown in color, mane in classic 60's style Eye Color: Blue Cutie Mark: Peace Sign Physique: Typical Paint stallion Residence: Near the Great Nimbusgait Lakes Occupation: Travelling peddler/salespony, artist Motivation: 'Wants to see the world, spread peace and make friends' Likes: Peace, meditating, selling cool items to fellow ponies Dislikes: Fighting, arguing, confrontation, using magic Character Summary: Mojo grew up on one of the many communal farms in the countryside of Equestria. He lived a very sheltered life, content to be working on the farm with his family, but often wondering if there was more to life than farming. His parents were 'free spirits', ponies who encouraged their colt to create works of art (paintings, sculpture, woodcarving, poetry) as well as enjoying folk music (that they often composed themselves). Mojo got his cutie mark at a young age after composing and reciting his first hoofwritten poem about the virtues of peace and love in school. One day while young colt was taking a walk near a river, he heard a loud noise far off and saw a magnificent rainbow stretching in the sky just over the horizon. It caused the young pony to wonder about life beyond the familiar hills and valleys of home. Mojo still loved the farm and his family, but now his craving for adventure was ignited. Inspired by the sight of that rainbow, he dreamed of building a peddler's wagon, filling it with hoofmade items and food from his family's communal farm and trotting off into Equestria to sell them. When Mojo told his parents about his future plans, at first they did not approve. However, as Mojo grew into stallionhood, his persistence persuaded them to support his decision. Later on, he prepared his peddler's wagon and galloped off. His first trip to Ponyville was a memorable one and taught him the value of making new friends. Mojo now saw that the outside world has much to teach him, life lessons he hadn't learned back home. So now the young stallion took a personal quest, to make new friends and sell them his unique items of hoofmade art and wares such as lava lamps, mood bracelets, beaded necklaces and throw rugs all over Equestria. If you happen to see him in your town, trot on over and neigh 'Hi!'
  20. Well, so much for that. Who wants to tangle with Hasbro's legal team? NEIGH!!!!
  21. What? No cookies? You could e-mail me some if you like.... LOL Seriously, welcome to the Forum!
  22. I was just channel surfing one day last winter when I came upon the episode "Look Before You Sleep." I was going to turn the channel, but I became fascinated with Applejack, Rarity and Twilight Sparkle. I can't explain it, but from that point forward, I was HOOKED! Recorded all 26 episodes, downloaded MIP FiM songs to listen to in my car! I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!
  23. Hello everypony! This website has many (but not quite all) songs from the show: Search in the M's, they are listed under "My Little Pony - Friendship Is Magic" LINK REMOVED - Unmodified audio belongs to Hasbro. ~ Artax
  24. I am deeply HONORED, Riverhippo! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I really appreciate this! I WILL use it!
