    Hello. This episode, for me, had good moments, that helped me be entertained. However these moments were primarily to the side of the main plot which, in my opinion, was kind of ridiculous. Spike needs to feel like a noble dragon by serving someone else because they saved his life... For one thing, that is so used in cartoons that it is a cliche, it can still be done well, however it made no sense whatsoever in this episode. I'm pretty sure that Spike has had his life saved by ponies in other episodes before this one. And more than that, Spike saved and entire empire, and probably Equestria by proxy, by getting the Crystal Heart into a position to be used by Princess Cadence... In short, he doesn't exactly owe anyone anything, he's saved all their lives. As for his being a complete clutz outside of the library... That was a little awkward, though I could buy it, buy that it was someplace new for him which was messing with his work. And then he built that tower of rocks perfectly, and counted every blade of grass in Sweet Apple Acres... ... yeah, they really should have had him doing most to everything well... that just wasn't Spike's day. And as for the Timberwolves... he lodged a rock in their throat? The big, pulled together by branches creature? Cause I'm sure they need to breathe, and aren't, you know, animated golems possessed by spiritual energy... ... Anyways, yeah, that kind of aggravated me. I was totally expecting him to set them on fire or something. That would have worked better. Now as for what I did like, as I've spent so much time saying what I didn't. Rarity's service fantasies, that fitted her. Rainbow Dash's self-based novel, taking her newfound love of books all the way with her own self focus, and Pinkie Pie's mustache... I can see why she was looking for an excuse to wear it. A truly villainous piece of facial hair... However, while these moments made me smile and laugh, the overall episode plot was weak, and felt kind of ridiculous... I don't expect every episode to be gold, as much as I'd like it I understand they can't do super-well every time, however this one felt as though it existed to justify using a cliche... Not the best reason to have an episode. So overall, not very cool in my opinion, however worth watching for some fun moments, then moving past.

    I'm glad that so many people have enjoyed this episode. For me though, it was kind of meh... Mainly the way things went was kind of obvious to me, and just not one of my favorite themes... Working so hard at something that you ruin the enjoyment of it... was very fitting for an Applejack based flaw, since she is such a hard worker, however I typically just don't like it when people do that in shows, and it was pretty obvious the lesson they had in mind so... For me this episode really didn't give me much. And the song was... ... not as well done as it could have been, in my opinion... The pacing of it seemed off for me, the beats... What I DID like though was Babs Seed coming back, old Apple Family people speaking with each other, us able to see the full extent of the Apple Family, Apple Strudle, I think his name was, making another appearance, the letter to Celestia which was something that I had been missing, and I didn't even notice this until it was pointed out however it is pretty awesome, the subtle way of getting Applejack's parents to show up for the reunion... and the implied confirmation that they are no longer among the living... Looking back at it, that's brilliant. So in short it had good points, and I'm glad that people seem to have enjoyed it in general, however it's not for me. Glad to see Applejack getting some focus though.

    I know this has fairly little to do with the episode, however... daaaaaawwwww!!! Cute squirrel!!! Awwww... ... I like the cute critters... ... Okay, I'm done, please continue with episode discussion.

    I respect the others, however my favorite has to be Discord. His personality and hijinks appeal to my own slightly warped sense of humor. With that said, I think all the villains deserve discussion for their own contributions.

    Pinkie-Pie... She actually makes a lot of sense when you look at why she's doing what she's doing... It's the part where she comes up with solutions that's a little... different than most people... and actually, when you think about it, she's probably a genius... She's certainly shown a knack for making devices for welcoming, parties, and getting up to the clouds with Rainbow Dash and Gilda... She just doesn't think the same way as we do... but she's definitely not stupid, or even necessarily random... Or that's just my opinion, at least.

    Hello. While not as good as last week's episode, in my opinion, I did rather enjoy this one. Spitfire's personality overall was logical given that she was "on the clock". She wasn't there to be their friends, she was there to push them as far as she could and seperate Wonderbolt material from the ones who weren't going to make it. She can be their friend when it isn't her job to cut out the weak and the unfit. Or that's my take on it at least. Rainbow Dash really shined in this episode... I was worried from the get go that she'd be the arrogant one who needed to be taught about teamwork, and I continued to think that as she complained about being a Wingpony. However she really impressed me throughout the episode, following Lightning as was her job to do, until the very end when she really endangered people, especially her friends... And indeed... I love Fluttershy, however she kind of earned that look from the Wonderbolt trainee... also a lucky stallion who got Rarity's hug... And Rainbow Dash's willingness to quit the Wonderbolts if they were willing to put other ponies in danger... and the look she got on her face as she exited, realizing what she'd just done, were both super awesome to me... Of course Spitfire's response and rightful "How dare you storm out of my office without giving me a chance to respond!" were awesome as well. I expected nothing less of her, once she got the whole story, I imagine, from her aiding officers. And Rainbow Dash gets to continue Wonderbolt Training! I wonder if it will ever come up again in future episodes... I rather hope it does, feels like the sort of thing they shouldn't just leave hanging. Oh! And Pinkie Pie, I found her hilarious... so worried the poor dear... So anxious and nervous... I can actually kind of relate to that. It's way irrational, however it happens... and the moments she hugged Dash, both first and second, were awesome... and I actually don't ship Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie... I just thought that the hugs really suited Pinkie. And that's about it. I really rather liked the episode and thought it showed an excellent side of Rainbow Dash. Very well done.

    (I have no problem agreeing to disagree, especially now that I'm stepping back for a bit and letting further information develop for Applejack. If there's anything I've noticed thus far, it's the wide degree of varying opinions that Bronies seem to develop on the show... it really seems to go all over the place with what some like and some despise.)

    (Hmmm... You make a good discussion point. While I'm still missing some big episode centered around Applejack challenged to be honest, I think I can see the point you're coming from. I think you're saying that Applejack's honesty is the standard so that when she lies it becomes more glaring, and that her actions reflect her honesty more than her strictly telling the truth? If that's your statement, and if I read that right, then I can... observe for it in the episodes. Try to look at it from that point and see if I notice things I hadn't before. So thank you for that... and your descriptions of hte other characters in relation do help to put things into perspective. I'd also say that Pinkie Pie failed her element personally when she became depressed and kinda crazy in the episode where she forgot it was her birthday and worried that her friends were abandoning her and started talking with a pile of rocks... Which makes a weird kind of sense given her past. However yes, I can open my opinion up again on Applejack's honesty to try to observe her more carefully from the perspective of her everyday actions. Putting my argument on hold until further data is acquired... Unless I missed your point entirely in which case I apologize.)

    It occurs to me, fairly late I guess, that perhaps this isn't the best place to discuss Applejack's honesty... perhaps a different discussion set should be made for it. However, because I have trouble ending response... There are of course situations under which Applejack would have benefited from lying and she didn't. She didn't because she's not "Dishonest" that's not the argument I'm making. Because the rest of the Mane Six aren't "Dishonest" either. There are situations under which lying would benefit them where they didn't, just as many as Applejack. My point is that Applejack, when it has been to her active detriment to tell the truth, hasn't told the truth that I can see. She's acted honorably when it was to her detriment, kept her end of bargains, did everything she could to help her friends... However she's lied under the same circumstances as the others for the most part, that I can see, and hasn't stood up for honesty when it would be a huge detriment to her, when honesty was causing her problems, and she picked honesty anyways... That's my problem. She's never passed a test to prove that she deserves the element of honesty... That I can see. Rarity proved her generosity by taking projects for her friends when it would be detrimental to her and going on with it anyways. Fluttershy occupies a state of kindness, as Pinkie Pie occupies a state of laughter. Rainbow Dash has never failed a test in loyalty that I can see, and so thus far she most perfectly represents her element out of all of them that I can think. And Twilight... well she's magic... all the time... pretty easy for her from a moral test standpoint. I'm not saying that any of them were perfect... if they were, we wouldn't love them so much... however as dependable, good-hearted, and hard-working as Applejack is... she's never had an episode where her honesty was put properly to the test and showed her getting into trouble because of her honesty... and the reason this aggravates me so much is because we saw the opposite episode where she forsook honesty almost entirely, at least that I see... However different opinions are going to abound... And I don't see me being convinced otherwise or convincing people that a rightly loved character as Applejack isn't honesty unless they already believe it... So I'm probably going to stop discussing this, unless someone can show me that definitive moment where Applejack outright gets into trouble because of her Honesty, and still chooses to be honest... I really would really rather like it to be revealed that I missed something and am wrong. I just don't think I am.

    Yes, however she still did it, and that's not the only time she did do it. I like Applejack, she's hard-working, dependable, and keeps her end of a bargain. However despite her being the honest character, I have yet to see her tell the truth when it would have been advantageous to her to lie... Instead, she lies. Also the "Last Roundup" I think it was called, where she went to the Rodeo and couldn't come home due to the shame. She lied althroughout that episode, and despite her thinly veiled "I said I would tell you at breakfast only I didn't got to breakfast" that was still a lie because she said she would tell them tomorrow at breakfast and just plain didn't. Rarity I've seen a contrast between her generosity and her selfishness. Applejack... has just never had a situation where she was challenged to be honest and met the challenge... or at least none that I have seen or remember. Nods.

    I actually don't mind having Rarity act selfishly. Because when she acts selfishly it is steadily tied up in her vanity. When she stole the show it was due to her enjoying the compliments her new wings were getting, when she was out camping with Sweetie Bell and "Letting" her pull the cart, because she didn't look like she was actually making her, it was so that she wouldn't get sweaty and dirty I imagine, so she was keeping to her image. Her flaw interrupts her generosity, and for me that's pretty steady, so I'm okay with it. A.J. is actually the one I have the most problem with. I love her in that she's a hard worker, takes things seriously, is there for her friends, dependable, etc... But to me she seems to lie just as much as everyone else, in the same situations. There's never been a scenario that I can recall where she's picked the truth over helping her friends, which might be for the best, but doesn't really give me much of an honesty vibe. What I mainly call to mind is Pinkie Pie and A.J. when Pinkie Pie was convinced her friends didn't like her anymore and they were really hiding her birthday party, A.J. outright lied to Pinkie Pie about barn construction. And it isn't that she's lied so much that bugs me, but that I don't remember seeing an example of shining honesty. And Honesty is a bit more than just telling the truth, or narrowly avoiding telling the truth... It's a moral structure that requires certain behaviors that I don't think she meets. Sorry, that one's my rant... However I don't have trouble with Rarity acting selfishly because the reasoning behind it seems to have been pretty steady to me. And as for the others, they're pretty consistent, so I'm good with it. Nods.

    A Cluck? ... Scootaloo clucks... ... Well, on the surface, it sounds as though someone's making a very costly prank involving Scootaloo's reputation as a chicken at the expense of the people who download off of iTunes... If that's the case whoever it is will probably lose his or her job. And I'm sorry you're having this difficulty. I absolutely hate it when technology doesn't do what it's supposed to.

    Ah, thank you, I had forgotten about Too Many Pinkie Pies having a letter at it's end... Hmmm... Well this does good to relieve my worry that the letters have been forgotten, now I am simply worried about frequency, or phasing out... Now, actually, if anything, I would like to see the letter writers expand to include the CMC... and maybe Trixie... ... though come to think of it, Twilight could have written a letter about her experiences in that epsiode to, so... So I am partially relieved, however not fully. Thank you for the reminder. I just hope that they increase the letter frequency instead of decrease, though that is my personal wish.

    Well I understand that viewpoint. However to clarify I think the dream-sequence following the race with Rainbow Dash lifting up Scootaloo could have been replaced with a letter and felt awkward to me. And for me the letters aren't just about telling the moral. For one they tie into the very reason Twilight Sparkle went to Ponyville in the first place, and I like the... tradition of sending letters as it helps tie back to the very beginning of the series. However as a second point, the letters also establish a personal connection with Princess Celestia, showing that the letter writers are not only thinking and learning their lessons, putting them into words, but also communicating them to the highest authority in the land that I have seen. It keeps them and her connected, I feel... So I miss them for multiple reasons really. However that's what they mean to me. I acknowledge that if you don't have the same feelings on the letters then they'll probably not do much for you.

    Indeed, it is a big shame... if anything I would have liked them to expand the letters to the Cutie Mark Crusaders. They've set up a steady pattern with the first several of not doing the letters though, so it's a pattern that's probably going to go throughout the season. Hopefully they'll hear the longing for the letters and respond by starting to worry about them again.

    Hello. These are my thoughts on the epsiode. First of all, YYYEEESSS!!! Princess Luna gets an active role! And it totally makes sense with her being the Princess of the Night! It does in fact sounds like she's getting more back into swing with her duties after so long gone, watching over people's dreams... Really awesome. As for Sweetie and Rarity... Heheheheh... Sweetie played Rarity into going camping with a sister guilt card, and then wound up carrying all the stuff... Seems like a fair exchange to me. However I noticed that she was smiling the whole time, didn't complain, and even pushed her sister's lounge couch as they went along... It looked to me like she was just happy to spend time with her sister. I think Sweetie might worship the ground her sister walks on with actions like that. And I liked how observant Applejack was, however Applejack and Applebloom really took a back seat in this episode. Not bad, however their role was fairly minor. Now as for Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash... I loved it. Scootaloo's fandom really played out, with her trying to impress Rainbow Dash the whole trip, and Rainbow being her usual self-confident, kinda... ... very arrogant self, and yet still good and awesome. She also showed a lot of compassion to little Scootaloo, and opened up with the revelation that she'd been scared, and the under the wing moment was awesome... made me smile. The very end actually felt a little... overdrawn. The climax of the action had already been filled and dealt with. That end could have been replaced with a letter to Princess Celestia and had a better impact in my opinion. Speaking of which I'm missing the letters to Princess Celestia... have they decided to write those out? Overall I thought the episode was well-done, funny, and "Awwwwww" inspiring. I liked it very much, and it's honestly probably going to be one of my favorites of Season 3.

    Hello. My two cents on the magic duel are these. I LOVED Fluttershy being super-nervous about Twilight's tricks with her animals while her animals were okey-dokey with it. I have mixed feelings about an artifact of that power, the Alicorn Amulet, having been in a shop, rather than in a vault, or something heavily guarded. Seems like something that dangerous would have been kept more secure. I do however notice, and appreciate, the word Alicorn being finally spoken in the show. The reason the feelings are mixed, is because I kind of liked how cautious the shopkeeper was until money was involved... that was funny. I loved Pinkie Pie's rock-farmer past being brought up and her being offended at Trixie being insulted at having had to work at one, and I felt very sorry for Pinkie Pie throughout the whole episode... until she got her mouth back and was about to speak right before they cut out... Heheheh... The actual magic duels were pretty impressive, and the trickery I appreciated later because I did NOT see it coming. I totally expected them to pull out the Elements of Harmony to overpower Trixie. Only later did I remember that they don't actually have them with them and that they're in Canterlot... kind of a face-palm moment for me. However I liked how they handled Trixie with cooperation and intelligence instead of brute force, very well done. Zecora is now even more awesome than her previous high levels of awesomeness. I don't know if what she did with that cup was a magician's trick or legitimate magic. Either way, the subtle nature of it, how she just used her power to refill a cup, and nothing else, how she spoke about focus and meditation, the understated and calm way she taught Twilight... She was super-awesome. Teaching how to think, focus, and control, instead of focusing on power. And finally Trixie at the end... I had mixed feelings about it. Her apology wasn't quite... right with me. Then she boasted about how humble she was, and that did it for me. I think that she probably realized that even she had gone too far, that instead of just being the best she'd become a tyrant... An egotistical blowhard she was, but not a sadistic overlord... And I also like how Twilight took a few moments before forgiving her... Must be hard to forgive someone who caused you so much grief.

    Hello. I would like to just throw in my two cents on the episodes if that's alright. I loved them. Absolutely and totally they were awesome. I could nitpick, but that would just detract from my enjoyment, and I see no reason to do that. As to Sombra, I liked him. I agree that he didn't have much "Personality" but what he did have, was "Presence". The man was power, corruption, and fear personified. Think about it... He banished the Crystal Ponies for a thousand years, and left such a deep and damaging impact on their mind that they couldn't remember ANYTHING before his rule, and had nothing but the memories of pain and horror beneath him... How evil is it to rob someone of their memories of joy? How wicked is it to take away their culture and identity and leave them with only sorrow? The man was what he wanted to be. Powerful, feared, all-possessing... His character was in his actions and what he did, not how he interacted with the Mane Six. And honestly, I thought he was terrifying and imposing as all get out. As for the actual episode structure, as I've already said I loved it, especially that little part with Celestia and Luna interacting with each other. I loved Twilight and Spike interacting, I loved how Spike saved the day, I loved how Rarity totally went gaga over the Crystal Empire, and I loved seeing Celestia use dark magic... ... That has SO much potential for future episodes, and so many possible implications... And finally, I believe that while they might have started out as Earth Ponies, the Crystal Ponies are likely by now their own unique form of pony. Their crystal sheen is probably permanent with the curse gone, and even when they aren't shining, their eye structure is different from a normal pony, as well as their manes.

    Hello. I thought I'd put a post up however apparently I didn't. I'm still working out how to use these. To the episode though, most everything's been discussed, especially the bullying, so I'll save my opinions on that part for later, or possibly never depending. As for how Applejack and the family missed it... That actually doesn't surprise me at all. Yes, there would have been signs, obvious signs, of distancing and awkwardness between the cousins. Appleblooms fear, Bab Seeds smugness and asserting of her supposed authority. Every witnessed interaction between the two would have some level of that in it. However people don't get things. They notice them, but they don't trace them back to origin. People will notice that something's wrong, but won't know what. And when they ask, both of them will say that nothing's wrong, because Applebloom didn't want to snitch, and Babs Seed didn't want anyone who could actually punish her knowing what she was doing. So all in all, Applejack and the rest of the family probably did notice that something was off. But they didn't know what it was, and with the kids telling them they were fine saw no reason to investigate further into it. Or that's my opinion in any case.

    I've played Psychonauts. And I absolutely loved it. I think it got good reviews, I just don't think it got any advertisement! It is however one of the best adventure games I have ever played hands down. I'm glad others know of it's existence.

    Hello. I'm not sure if I'm doing this right or not, however this is a check to see how people would be interested in a more mature non-canon RP regarding protecting the Princesses of Equestria from harm. Both the very much out in the light obvious measures taken to keep them safe, and the very underhanded and secretive measures that need to be taken, as well as dealing with threats to their lives that no one ever even hears about, dealt with in the shadows... and again, also the very obvious, out there threats dealt with. Mainly it would focus around the Honor Guard, and it's different Orders, and also any additional bodyguard personnel that wish to protect the Princesses. So... thoughts please, does it sound interesting? Am I overstepping my bounds? And other information and feedback would be appreciated.

    Thank you... It is rather nice to see him Princess approved for alternate worlds. Right quick, and when I say quick I mean whenever and to whoever looks at this that is in a good position to answer, do I do anything else with Hidden Dagger as for as structure or positioning goes, or do I just use him and wait for him to be moved?

    (Thank you for the welcome and the Pinkie Pie smile. And I play several different games, mainly cyclical with my mood. The games I tend to focus on for the Xbox 360 are RPGs and Action games. Sims and strategy games mainly get regulated to the P.C. I don't really go for sports games. Horror games I can try, though there aren't many. The Dead Space series is one of my favorites in regard to Horror though, and I love the Necromorphs. I used to be heavy into Mass Effect before Mass Effect 3 and... well... the ending... ... ugh... ... ... Anyways, in short, my biggest focus tends to be RPGs and Action, and when I can have a noticeable, clear effect on the world around me and the outcome, I tend to enjoy the game the most, no matter what genre.)

    (Thank you all for the welcomes. Yes I have an Xbox, Xbox 360 specifically, and a PS3 though I prefer the Xbox. And thank you for the welcome song... heheheh... I love Pinkie Pie's enthusiasm... And I'll remember that the environment is question friendly thank you. And I'll likely be... tentative for a bit, in any and all subjects but RP... and a bit in RP to probably. I do appreciate the rather warm welcome I am receiving... It was an unexpected pleasure.)
