  1. I do! I love my pets too, We have five animals, but I really only have ownership over one. So here she is, my black cat Apple: We got her from a shelter. She's around... six months old. I've only had her for three months, but she's so full of personality and neurotic. :3 At night time, she sleeps on my head. I'm really more of a dog person, but it's kind of a long story how I got to have a cat and was not really intentional, but I'm glad it happened anyway.
  2. Hey hey, Dave. Welcome here. :3 So far, the RP scene does seem superior to MLP Forums. So there's at least that! Anyways, I hope you can have fun. So far, I'm having an all right time.
  3. Recently got Minecraft. Didn't think I'd like it. Instead, I get addicted. @_@

Especially when you have download the Ponyville map. I also heard there was Cloudsdale too.

I don't have any mods yet. And I can't really show any creations because I suck at building. XD I just play on Survival Mode and live through that even though I always die. I'll probably get mods once I get a hang of the normal game. Otherwise, I'll get confused. Ponyville and Cloudsdale maps sound cool though.

Minecraft is kinda like that with a lot of people. I think that's how it became so popular :P

  4. She blinked, mentally cursing to herself that the other had noticed her. Well, that appeared to be what happened when one just stayed on a hill near somepony else. Getting farther away would've been a better idea, but the other parts of the park had... euck. Children. It was better to deal with just one pony than them. Bah, children! Little slimy colts and fillies, with their overly small bodies! Thinking they were SO cute with their high pitched voices and blank flanks! Ha! Right. She sure was glad she had grown out of that stage.Hmm, this lady said something about a story. Perhaps she should write a story where children don't exist due to some strange radiating gem that causes- Wait, she was getting quite distracted. Stop staring into space and answer that pony! That pony that thought she was writing a... story. For some reason. She thought a sketchbook was quite an obvious thing for drawing, but then again, maybe non-artist ponies weren't schooled in such ways. Not only that, but she seemed to think she was a local... perhaps she as well as new to this place, as Artsy didn't think herself quite befitting of Canterlot scenery. Although a few ponies appeared to have been getting confused with certain outfits she wore. But never just in her standard garb. "I'm sorry... I can't really help you, man. I'm not really from around here, you see... dude," She tried to pepper her speech with less... formal speech, in attempts to make herself look even less Canterlotish. "I probably know about as much as where I'm going as you. But wait, wait. I think I remember seeing something in the super, like amount of time I've spent here... y'all. Totally. H-heh. Uh..." Once again, she got that blank gaze in her brown eyes for an instant, staring off as she tried to recall the images of what she had seen wedged within the crevices of her forgetful mind. The market... yes. Images of a bazaar-like area rushed through her imagination. A great variety of stores... so many big fancy signs, labels, and buildings. Vaguely, she recalled something about... games? The edges of the fuzzy memories grew more foggy though, and she.... "Can't remember. S-sorry to not be helpful at all, like, totally unawesome. Yeah. Also, I'm not really writing a story or anything. Just... trying to draw. Nothing special," Okay, maybe she was overdoing that trying-not-to-look-like-you're-from-Canterlot thing a little bit. But it was kind of fun, even if it was stupid. What sort of games was the mare even talking about, she wondered? Oh well, it wasn't really any of her business. Rule Q of Artsy: Don't ask ponies things you don't need to know! Get in, get out, get only what's necessary. She noted to herself she really should've made a Rules A through P. Wow, she sure was particularly unfocused and strange today. Must've been one of those days where her mood swang into this place.
  5. For a moment, she massaged her forehead with her hoof heavily to restrain some of the giggles that wished to come out. Now the employee appeared even more ridiculous, like some taffy-coated Hearth's Warming tree, with candy-made ornaments. Well, at least she didn't have to pay for it. Artsy wanted to save as much of her funds as she could. Luckily, a distraction came in the form of a purpleish blue pegasus, whose colour scheme and vibrant apple cutie mark were both as suitable for this store as the chocolate earth pony. Her accent, however, was a little...strange. It wasn't really like anything she had heard in Canterlot before. And yet this pony seemed to know the other one. It made her feel a little more awkward, wedged in between familiarity as a stranger. Just get the candy and get out. This was that simple. And do NOT use magic again, for Celestia's sake! The humiliation still lingered about her little magic problem. "Right. No mint. Just... anything as chocolate as your coat." Then the other mare left for a moment to get more taffy for Sugar Apple, a sticky noise only bringing back Artsy's urge to giggle. I don't think you need anymore taffy, lady... Looking shiftily to her left and right, she let a quick snicker into her hoof, then quickly urged herself to stop. How ridiculous everything seemed to be on this day.
  6. "Well, you sure did do a good job... it's quite decorated," she noted as she gazed around once more at the rather vivid decor. "N-no. I don't really bake, but I do like to eat it!" Now the mare chuckled a little, noting within her mind that she made the lamest of jokes. Of course, now their gracious host had asked her name. She was about to respond, when the frightful reptilian interloper interjected. Her haunches tensed as she pawed at the ground nervously and backed away slightly. This was a guest she quite wanted to avoid, and here he was rudely in their face! Dragons were as impolite as she had heard, and this one was messing up the floor that Luminescence had worked quite hard on! "N-now hang on a sec, Mister Dragon. She asked my name first. Name's Artsy. Also, how can you come to an event without even knowing the host's name? Not to be rude or anything..." She added tentatively, thinking within her mind that it took already quite a bit of nerve to address this creature like that. Artsy didn't even know if he was hostile and would just breathe fire in her face for saying so.
  7. Already having arrived at the park several hours prior, the artistic mare sat on a bench with a small sketchbook in front of her. The book in the past few days had been full of various sketches of art she had been churning out in attempts for her grand commission from possibly the richest customare she had ever had. It was here in Canterlot that she had arrived as per suggestion of her customare, to research the sights of Canterlot for artistic inspirations. Her brow was furrowed deep in focus upon a half-finished work of art, a bunch of indeterminable scribbles coming together to create a rather vague draconic creature. With her pencil held in the grasp of her telekinetic crimson aura, she sketched out a large circle behind the creature and drew several straight lines emitting from it. The sun seemed to be the focal point of this rather peaceful morning. However, this area soon became crowded with several fillies and colts, loudly playing with their fancy parents too distracted in their own wealth to control them. She disliked loud noise, and she especially wasn't too fond of children. Letting out an irritated snort, Artsy Dreamscapes leapt off of her bench and spotted a secluded area that seemed dense in population; a small hill. Perfect. Thus, she trotted her way far from this noisy scene uphill. It made her a bit uneasy to be so high, but she had a great view... and so far, her latest sketch, like many others, seemed plain drab and uninspired. At the very least, there was enough room to sit. "No, no, no!" She growled in frustration as she viciously turned the page of her sketch book with her hoof. But she paused for a moment as she heard a voice and a giggle overlap with hers, her ears perked up alertly, her tail stiffening slightly. She turned her head just a bit, and spotted another mare on the hill with her. This mare as well had a piece of paper and a writing utensil, but didn't appear to be a local as evidenced by her... less than fancy dress. Maybe another one of those tourists. She wasn't sure. For a moment though, her thoughts drifted to a bizarre pegasus stallion she had once met, the varying shades of blue upon this icy unicorn reminding her of him. That giggling did seem indicate of a strange personality like his. Wait no. Don't get easily distracted now whilst staring at her. Maybe if she just went quietly back to her work, the unicorn wouldn't notice her at all.
  8. Taffy puller, huh? For a moment, a baffled expression came onto Artsy's visage as her eyes widened. This place didn't seem all that professional if their candy makers... got stuck in taffy pullers. But then again, she was just looking for some quick food. Her stomach let out another growl again and she blushed. "Eheheh... looks like I gotta... get that candy fast. Um. Well, it's all right," Artsy pawed at the ground slightly with her hoof and looked in another direction. It seemed the other pony was also a little uncomfortable. That only made things more awkward. "I suppose chocolatey. Definitely no taffy. I wouldn't want to mess you up some more. Unless somehow, chocolate taffy exists? Why, that'd sure be interesting, wouldn't it?" Stop rambling so much! In her attempts to back away slightly from the other pony in her usual uncomfortable body language, she bumped into a display of various candies causing some of them to tumble down. "Oh, no! Sorry. I'll um... help clean up. I'm not usually so klutzy!" Once again not thinking though, and being a bit self-conscious about her telekinesis that couldn't really pick up much more than artistic supplies, her horn shown with a bright red aura which went around the multiple candies, levitating them into mid-air. She stared in shock. Artsy couldn't believe it! She was doing i- Suddenly, the telekinesis went wrong. Her horn suddenly pulsated again with the sparks of exhausted magic and the aura around the candies faded. No... she couldn't humiliate herself her! She forced the magic even more, and it suddenly exploded in a burst which caused the candies to go flying out of her control all over the store. At this point, her magical aura had dissipated and she stood there with a sense of even more awkwardness than before. Artsy couldn't contain the vivid blush that had crept all across her face, as red as her cutie mark. "Y-yikes! I'm... I'm really sorry. I'll... I'll just pay for that if you need me to!"
  9. Thankfully, the other unicorn hadn't appeared to have noticed her, despite also making her way to the newly built and garish observatory. Behind her glimmering and dazzling appearance, as well as her... chaotic distracting pet (for somebody so fancy, she sure couldn't control her animal! Perhaps these Canterlotians weren't as under control as she thought), she could slip in just about unnoticed. So far, nobody seemed to be paying her much mind and she managed to- Whoa, whoa, whoa! What? Was that... a dragon? Maybe it wasn't a good idea to come here after all. She had heard tell of their massive greed and otherwise unsavory temperament. And even if he was different, she didn't want to be rude and keep staring. Luckily though, he didn't seem to notice her just as the others hadn't. Just keep going. Pretend he's not there. The mare averted her gaze from the gangly teenage beast, and to what had happened to be their host from what bit of conversation she had heard. A harried unicorn (wow, there sure were a lot of unicorns here!) with some frosting in her mane. Ah, what was the host's name again? Oh yes! Luminescence she had heard. Probably the least intimidating here. Well, besides that other unicorn who looked just about as uncomfortable about the dragon as she herself was, but she was a filly and Artsy didn't have much interest in children. She seemed stressed out in her announcement of the buffet being through those doors. It usually wasn't her nature to approach others, especially since she had just said she'd just be a moment... She sighed. Blast her weak spot for the vulnerable. Certainly, they were the types of ponies she could sympathize with. The tan mare followed this Luminescence and psyched herself up to speak to her, ignoring the vehement pulsations of her heart against her chest. Ponies can't hurt you, it's all right. It's not a big deal. Don't be afraid! "Well, um... hello," she stammered a little awkwardly, but continued to the periwinkle host. "Sorry to disturb you, but I'd just like to say that you have a... really nice thing going on here. Your observatory's really lovely. That's... um. Just about it, I suppose." She attempted a grin onto her expression, in attempts to wash away some of the obvious awkwardness she had been espousing. "Oh, yeah. I... don't mind any frosting either. It makes for a nice tasty easy snack, don't you think?"
  10. Whilst I agree to a certain extent, there are CERTAIN jobs that races are drawn to based on generalizations and what we've seen from the show. Earth ponies are more drawn to food-related, animal, and earthy tasks, unicorns more brainy, artistic, and astronomical tasks, and pegasi to weather-related/more athletic tasks. There can certainly be outliers from the norm such as Fluttershy, but pony races are not at all the same as human races. All humans, regardless of race, have the same abilities. Pony races, however, have enormous differences in abilities and powers compared to humans, which would indeed make them more prone to certain tasks. I'd say that to a very general extent, race DOES dictate personality. Also, you forget that each race has its own culture (in both humans and ponies), and these cultures (and expectations from them) often shape personalities as well. That's the reason this thread exists, really. To find out which type is most suitable to one based on their personality, interests, etc.

  12. You know I didn't mean the literal definition there ;D? Grah. @_@ That's really confusing, y'know. Maybe you should've used a different word... like dazzle. Edited in any case.
  13. Continuing her mini-vacation in Canterlot to absorb the sights, Artsy trotted along through the streets, still astonished with everything they had to offer. But it was quite exhausting work trying to take in so much... she had been making sketches of her grand commission all day and her horn was exhausted. It pulsated slightly letting off small sparks of magic as it often did when the mare had been hard at work. Suddenly, a rather ravenous growl in her stomach alerted her to.... "Food! Gah... I forgot to eat. I don't want to cook though. I'm beat." She wiped beads of sweat off of her forehead and observed the local cuisine... what could she sample? It had to be something little, something that would give her lots of energy fast, and it had to be cheap. Couldn't be any more of those fancy Canterlot restaurants Her wallet was aching a little from eating all that rich pony food. Hmm.... what could she get? Aha! Her eyes spied a brightly coloured building that had a large sign. "Mr. Cocoa's Candy Confections" Well, if anything had gave energy fast, it was candy. And she really hadn't allowed herself to have much for quite some time... maybe a bit of candy wouldn't hurt. It'd probably be cheap too! Thus, the artist had made her decision after vacantly perusing her other options. Her small crimson saddlebag strewn over her back, Artsy walked into the building and came across a rather bizarre situation almost at the start. The only employee she could spot here was a mare covered in some bright colourful substance. She presumed she had been working with candy. This certainly didn't seem to be as fancy a business as some of the other places she had gone to in Canterlot. The more messy and homely appearance of the mare made Artsy a little less uneasy. Finally, there was somepony else in this place who didn't seem all fancy pants! "Oh... um. Hello," she tried to ignore the bright distraction all over the earth pony's coat, but found her eyes unconsciously drawn to it. Her expression showed a bit of her unease. "So... what sort of candy do you have here?" Just stay calm. Don't stare at it!
  14. Canterlot! What a super fancy place. This tan unicorn gazed in astonishment at the towering spires and vast buildings. It was certainly nothing like the smaller, more picturesque vacation homes at Trottingham. She could feel the air of grandiosity seeping from not only the environment, but its rather fashionable and well-dressed citizens with their posh accents echoing through these streets. Typically, the mare wasn't much of a traveler. She didn't really need to, after all. Being from a vacation hotspot, she'd already get to see all different types of ponies. However, there was a special type of flower sold here that she had to find for a special work. A commissioner for one of her works had managed to goad the small timid artist into leaving her comfort spot. It was her first time leaving her fair city and her heart only pumped with excitement and anxiety. "Annnnd I'll let you in on a little something whilst you're there as well, dear. There's an observatory opening. A young little filly like you really should expand her horizons! New places give artists new inspirations. And I'd certainly love to see some of your new inspirations on my painting," She had recalled the older mare commissioner's words, and remembered that highly jaunty accent and debonair elegance that only seemed to come from Canterlot and the wealthy. And boy was this lady wealthy. She had put up quite an amount of bits for a piece of this unicorn's art and seemed to think that it was "quaint" and "not much out of (my) budget." Having never seen so much money in her entire life all at once, she had decided to take her up on her suggestion. After all, for that many digits, she had to make something spectacular and beyond her limits. The flower and sights she'd get here would certainly aid with- "Oh wow." Her attention was immediately attracted to the dazzling pony before her. She sure was tall.. a unicorn from the looks of it. And some kind of big bird thing. Huh. But her attention was soon shifted to another, even more distracting location. She had taken notice of what she had been searching for. The wide shiny lens glimmering in the glorious sunset, garish decorations as far as the eye could see, as vivid and bright as a Hearth's Warming tree, and candles casting their flaming lights. "How... did I not notice that?" Her hoof made contact with her forehead in exasperation. She sure was bad at taking in the sights. But really, one couldn't blame her! It was her first time and there were other shiny things to be distracted by. "Oh well. I just hope I'm not too under-dressed for these fancy pants... deep breaths now. Ponies can't hurt you, the fear is irrational." The mare began to psyche herself up for the inevitably stressful socializations that would be to come. She had to do this, to make her art worth all those bits. Going at a slow trot, she proceeded after the other unicorn's wake, making sure to stay behind her so she wouldn't notice. No need to socialize more than necessary, after all.
  15. Grass, Fire, and Water is one of the few rock-paper-scissors combinations that works. And don't say Psychic, Fighting, Dark. That doesn't count because Dark is IMMUNE to Psychic. Those types as starter Pokemon are an integral part of the Pokemon main series formula. And honestly, I see no reason to change that. Without those and stuff appearing in the grass, it wouldn't really be a Pokemon game. There are certain things in a game that make that game series what it is, and aren't necessary to change. Whilst I doubt they're going to get TOO risky, BW and BW2's differences from the rest of the series, as well as the release of a new generation so soon, suggests that they ARE gradually edging towards more and more changes and risks. 3D is certainly a controversial decision.
  16. I meant the series in general. Just saying they hate Final Fantasy in general. Not specific games. I don't mind if somebody badmouths most of the specific games. (except IX, which is my absolute favorite and I do not want to hear it >< But nobody tends to badmouth that one as most people I meet who are into FF haven't played it... it's rather obscure for a modern one) As there are certain ones I am a bit... meh about. But i usually do avoid talking about it and keep to myself anyways. It's not a fandom I'd like to participate in.
  17. She doesn't wear them all the time, that's why. Applejack's hat is essential to her! Actually, I find it strange that the fashion pony chooses to go naked by default...
  18. Yes, I would, as I am quite fond of Sony consoles. But honestly, it's highly unlikely. The PS3 has more of a... masculine reputation. And Hasbro is interested in attracting little girls. Little girls aren't known for playing the PS3. It'd more likely be released on the Wii. Or maybe even Nintendo DS. So an official licensed game for a big powerful console like that wouldn't happen. Honestly, a fan game is highly unlikely as well. It takes a lot of time, effort, skill, and resources to develop for a platform like that with such graphics. A lot of those companies get paid to do that. It's sad, but a girl can dream. And perhaps they can make games for computers that could come close to recreating the PS3 feel one day.
  19. For me, that's the Final Fantasy series. I'm a bit of a fanatic about them and will buy ENTIRE consoles just to play them even if they have nothing else I'm interested. My range of interest in games is very limited anyway. But still. Final Fantasy inspires all of my works, and has pretty much helped make me who I am today. So obviously, I have a massive bias for it, and will probably keep buying and playing through the games for a very long time. I just can't stop. Regardless of what other people seem to say about the series' quality declining. It hasn't really gotten me the same, the most recent games, I'll be honest. And I don't think they're quite as good in some aspects. But I'll still keep buying and loving. I just cannot tolerate somebody badmouthing the series at all. It's something I don't like to hear and honestly, keenly try to avoid as I just utterly don't understand how you can't like it. But again, my bias is huge.
  20. Oh my Gawd! It looks awesome. *_* I must have it. I've always wanted Pokemon to be in 3D since I prefer 3D in general to sprites. The generations just keep getting better and better. I thought they weren't going to make the move from sprites after Gen V, but I was proved wrong! They're definitely changing their game up. I'm glad to see them trying more risks. They already tried a few in Gen V and now they're really trying to get their a-game out. I must get a 3DS. Probably gonna get Y, because it has the most awesome-looking legendary. I like how they're going for a letter theme too. It's definitely unique and nothing I've thought of. I don't know how the quality's going to be, to be honest. But it looks VERY promising. The starters... well, I preferred Gen V's. But! I really like Fennekin, so I might break my tradition of always using the Grass-types to get it instead. They don't look so bad. I'm mostly neutral to them, particularly Chespin.
  21. I personally think censorship on a brony site is rather silly, as there are really rarely any children of the target demographic frequenting those. Most of what I've seen on sites is a bunch of teenagers and 20-somethings, and invariably with that much of a mature periphery audience being the majority, SOME form of inappropriate content for children's eyes will make its way out there to them regardless. It's like taking a child to a high school party and then trying to force everyone at the party to hold their tongues for the sake of that one child. They'll let it slip even if you try to stop them. It could be different here, but that's just my opinion. I'm not saying curse up a storm or anything (because honestly, that is rather obnoxious and vulgar. I think it should be kept to a moderate or minimum amount), but an occasional f, s, or d-word (ESPECIALLY the d-word, since that's not even censored on TV and children could easily hear that word and in fact, probably often do) here and there isn't going to hurt anyone. I can understand why it's done though. What I do think is even more silly is words being censored by accident by a filter that doesn't know left from right and then kind of just forcing somebody to find a different, more obscure word that people are less likely to understand. Particularly when you feel that one word conveys your meaning just correctly and any other word just doesn't "feel" right. It sounds odd, but it has happened to me. Or, in my opinion, some American spellings being censored. @_@ Personally, I think it's kind of offensive to promote one regional spelling over another as it kind of is like the site is saying that US spellings are unacceptable and not real English, when they are as conventional as British ones. Feel free to ignore me though. I'm just some newbie spouting out nonsense I know won't change anything. I mean, I don't mind it too much. I just do find it to be a rather minor inconvenience like the OP. Just nice to get your opinion out there, I guess, since I know pretty much everyone seems to disagree anyway. (In other words, please don't hurt me. I'm not looking for an argument. ^^; )
  22. Fluttershy is mine. Or Cadence. Or maybe Applejack. But mostly Fluttershy. Her personality a lot of the time, particularly in the first episode, portrays a shy personality accurately. It really reminds me of myself. I see myself in her. Also, I LOVE her design. It's so soothing to look at and her eye design is really mellow. Cadence is a lot due to her design, really. And her voice. Her voice actress is fantastic. Applejack? I like her calm, down-to-earth personality, her accent, and her design as well. I always love ponies with accessories. :3
  23. Since... February 2011. I think I got in really early. Wow, it'll be almost two years now very soon. Surprising to know I've been into ponies this long.
  24. My 2012 has been rather... topsy turvy. But so far, I don't really have any views into the upcoming future. Just maybe that things can't get much worse, I suppose. Trying to count my blessings and just... live on. I'm not really looking forward to anything, but there are things I'd like to see happen. I'd like to get at least ONE real life (who lives near me) close friend who shares something in common with me. And a romantic partner would be really nice too.. male or female. There aren't a lot of people here who have a lot in common with me. So I'd just like to find friends. It's really lonely. And um... well, just try to lift my spirits up, I suppose. Getting a job, and FINALLY going to college would be nice, even if those things are intimidating to me.
  25. I'd be a unicorn because I am extremely physically weak (Earth Pony) and not fast at all. (Pegasus) Most of my interests are rather... brainy, if you will. I also would prefer having magic to make using a pencil easier, since I'm really into art and writing. And I've always been into magic and witches and sorceresses. That sort of thing. Always wanted to be one. In video games, mages are always my favorite characters. I think my personality just fits one in general. I'm kind of prissy and not really into getting down and dirty. I have strength like a toothpick. And most people seem to think that I'm very intelligent. (Not that other pony types are dumber than unicorns or anything. They just seem like the more nerdy type.) My avatar shows exactly what I'd look like as a pony, really. It's based heavily on my actual appearance.
