  1. Holly could no longer hold back the flood of tears that she had been clamping behind tightly shut eyelids. The tears fell quietly down her face, and she bit her lip, forcing herself not to wail or sob, she nodded yes as she cried quietly, looking at the ring with glimmering violet orbs, the river of tears that slid down her face accompanied by a speechless smile.

"Yes...." She managed to choke out as she nodded, and giggled as she said the word, and put her hoof to her chest, trying to calm herself as she reached with her other hoof and touched the beautiful ring, "Yes.....yes...."

She could manage no other words as she stared, wide-eyed at the ring before her, and moved her violet eyes to meet Gladwin's handsome blue ones, "Are....are ya.....are ya sure...you want....me?"

  2. Cerena flew along quietly at the princess' side. She seemed.... perturbed, to say the least when she had brought up Celestia. She made a mental note to avoid speaking of the solar princess from now on.

"So...." She began, as the lake began to dissipated beneath them, dwindling into a winding stream that led the way towards the Everfree forest, "Um......I mean no offence Pr--...LUNA, but.....I....asked you what you LIKE to do.....not what is your DUTY to do...."

Cerena, for only a moment, felt a bit of fear after asking the question. Some reminiscent of the ingrained fear of the Lunar princess. She pushed it away though. This was a real, live, flesh and blood mare she was speaking with--not a rumor, or nightmare, just....a princess....and someone she was finding more and more she would very much like to be friends with.

"I mean.....my profession is a teacher.....but I also love to.....socialize with my fillyfriends, pursue my personal astronomy studies......braid my mane....." she giggled as she thought of her most recent escapade, "Take a midnight swim! Certainly, I....do my duty....and I LOVE it, don't mistake me.....but....."

She looked studiously at the Lunar princess, "What do you do...for FUN?"

  3. I was thinking blue and light blue braided together, on like a little white cloud, with yellow star sprinkles and some glitter.

I'm still thinking of a way to make Earth Pony cookies cute, but...I'll get back to you on that.

Edit: Okay then, I was thinking flavoring half the batch with cocoa powder, then doing a batch of green, and braiding those together. Sprinkies would be flowers and butterflies, since those are earth-bound things, and maybe some icing "grass" around the sides.

Melted marshallows would make for a GREAT 'cloud' look. I, too, believe I am going to be baking here soon....perhaps I'll make all the delicious poo of the mane six....wait, wat?.....

  4. Well it isn't length that matters, it's content. The reason sometimes we can appear picky as for some folks is that sometimes the characters isn't thought through or given any depth of personality. The deeper your character is, the more fun it is to RP with them because ideas flow easier, and its easier to develop them as a full story character, and its easier to figure out what they would say or do. Those characters are the ones people grow to care about and develop some sort of vested interest in; in this way it is just like writing a story with them.

I may disagree with this. I think it's more fun to CREATE the story WITHIN the RP. Not have an epic tale and expect to do something wonderful afterwards. As for depth, my character, I'm sure you may recall, Screwball, proved that no matter how many hours you put into the character, how much you bring the character's story to life, it doesn't matter if it works better as a 'story' and not a 'character.'

I believe the real story should be within the RP, not the background.

An Application can NEVER be too short!

You also seem to be missing a few minor things, now that I look again.

    Roleplay Type:

    Species:

    Physique:

    Origin/Residence:

Add those things in and you look good to go!

    Added. :3

  5. Yeah.

When I was first introduced to Rarity....I was like, 'ozmigod...she's she's....*insert friend's name!*' I have a snobby cosplayer friend who's always bragging about her sewing, and loves shinies and fancy characters and always chooses to cosplay as the most impossibly-hard cosplay ever, and then when her costume doesn't even turn out 'that' great, she still believes it's the crown jewels.

.....did I just really use the phrase 'crown jewlels?' Oh, well. yeah, you get the idea. The difference is, I've actually grown to like Rarity. XD

  6. Icky got emaciated. I may not actually know what the word means - cue horror - but that sounds really bad. And Icky looks adorable.

Emaciated=starved at a critical level. Emaciation occurs due to lack of food or unsanitary living conditions, and is common among neglected animals. (not to mention children.)

Basically, if an animal is emaciated, it was practically starved to death.

  7. Exactly what the title says, no really. List your highest forum post count, as well as the website it's on. List the other websites you go to, and their post count. Where does Canterlot stand for you?

For me? A site that I have recently become completely inactive on is number 1, despite the fact that I haven't posted on it in well over a year:

    yaoidreams.com - 4,051 posts as of checking yesterday. Hasn't changed since 2010

Jurassic Park Legacy forums - 961 hasn't been touched since probably last September

    Canterlot - ~450 and rising.

MLP Arena - ~40. :'< rarely go here, but more recent than the first two!

    Soon, Canterlot will overcome!

Not that post count really matters. *shrug*

  8. Personally I am fine with that as long as the normal wing design "look" is used; of course I don't think you even had a picture. Ultimately its up to the mods, but that is my feelings on it.

Well, it was described in detail in the app. With the assumptions that the mods who looked at my app actually READ it, a picture wouldn't even be necessary. But I have one on my home computer now, so I'll get one up anyway.

    But....um...yay?

  9. I think basically unless a character is Celestia or Luna who are notably special, the animators aren't going to waste the time on super complicated, unique wings. And neither should you. How many birds of any given species do you know who have amazingly unique wings vastly different from the rest of the species?

But ponies aren't birds. And how often do you see two horses with the EXACT same markings, body structure, hoof size, leg size, etc. Not very often.

This rule seems kind of...stupid, and unnecessary, in my opinion. It pretty much destroys the awkward look I have for my male pegasi. He's like...a clydsdale among ponies, and his wings are so large they drape down to the ground, and add to the fact that his basic character is a 'gentle giant'. I suppose, in all technicality, they could still have the same shape as a regular pegasi....just really bulky and too large to fold without hitting the ground...

Are you going to make everypony who used those two wings remove their character, or just prevent it in future apps?

  10. Again, I must reiterate, keep this PROFESSIONAL, this is my JOB. I cannot say things like 'YOUR FACE' to customers, or long phrases like 'I love you.' :3 I'm trying to liven up my work environment, and I'm countin' on you guys to be CREATIVE! :D

Because I cannot brain today, I have teh dumbz. Plus, I'd like to be able to look at the list, and get it memorized.

Also, it's been updated with a few more words. :3

  11. I think this applies to every fan community. Sure. there's always going to be the weirdos who end up with a fettish for the fandom, rather than the passionate love for it that most have, and that is always going to be what the media looks for in a fandom. ALWAYS. It's called 'dirty laundry' for a reason. It's all news systems are interested in.

They don't see 'anime', they see 'hentai, pervy japanese guys, slutty con-goers'. They don't see 'furries', they see 'freaks, zoophiles and pedos'. The media digs up the dark side of a community, no matter how pure the source, or what the original idea is.

BECAUSE the media emphasizes this, it forces normal fans to reconsider their status as that show/thing's fan, as it makes them look bad.

I think, if anything, it should empower us, as bronies, even MORE to try to erase any sort of bad name either the media or the mass amount of 'bad brony material' that the said 'bad bronies' can dig up by standing behind the true message of the show, love and friendship. It's truly a pure message, as a certain Bob Marley said, "The people, who were trying to make this world worse... are not taking a day off. How can I?"

That being said, I'm not going to dictate artists, such as myself, for what they depict, whether X-rated or not. Communities cannot exist without the balance of 'dark' material as opposed to light. There is no such thing as a 'heaven' of any sort of community. Even religion.

    .....

But I'm not even gonna go there.

  12. "Stupid..."Holly sniffled, and stood up, running up to the griffon and putting her front hooves on him, and pounded them on him repeatedly--not hard enough to hurt, just wimpy, sobby hits, "Stupid, stupid, stupid!! Why..."

She leaned her head against his fluffy chest with a light 'poff', shoulders quivering as she continued to cry, "Why would you do something so sweet?"

She slipped off his chest, coming back down to four legs, and her rump slouched to the ground. She began to openly sob now, wailing as tears streamed down her face. After a good long wail, she managed to gasp and sniff her way back into focusing on the griffon, rubbing her eyes with her hooves in vain, as tears were coming down faster than she could catch them, "Ah....why'd you have to.....Ah already.....you big dope!...."

She couldn't stop the tears from rolling, but she managed to sniffle up enough to stop hyperventalating and look at the griffon, "Guh--go....go head. Say what you have to say...."

Tears still rolled down her cheeks like waterfalls, but she held back the sobs as she looked at the griffon, eyes glimmering as she bawled.

  14. [[but...that doesn't affect my post count, silly!]]

Holly sighed with relief as she read the letter. Finally! Back to the garden! She bet the griffon had some sort of special dinner created...or maybe a fun evening planned...or maybe he'd bought her another pendant! She loved the one she got for Hearth's Warming. It was so sweet!

But, boy was she tired! Her mane was a wreck, her nerves were fried, and her brain was frazzled. She called to the dog with a sigh, "Bucky.....can mama have a ride?"

She made a pouty face, and the dog trotted over to her, allowing her to climb up on his back, "Just till we get out of Canterlot...."

She let her hooves swing down at the dogs sides, and the dog loped down the streets of Canterlot calmly, panting lazily. As the woods neared, Holly slipped off of him and trotted next to him, making her way through the trees confidently, towards the site that was her garden.

She stopped just short of the garden. She saw something poking up above the trees. Was that...a roof? Well, it didn't have all it's shingles yet, but it was definitely a roof....had she gotten lost somehow? She supposed she hadn't been paying much attention, but she knew the route by heart. She trotted forward more slowly, careful that she might be trespassing on somepony's property.

Then her garden came into view....and....as she peered around the tree line, a house--a naked house--rose up before her. It didn't have window panes, shingles or even siding yet. But there it was. An adorable, wooden, house.

"Wh...what....what is this...?" her lower legs caved and she stared dumbfounded at the home, not even noticing as Buck wiggled past her and headed for Gladwin. Her forehooves, too, began to slowly slip down in front of her, her eyes quivering with shock, and her mouth agape. She could think of nothing else to do but cry. She hicced, and buried her face between her forehooves, sobbing quietly.

  15. [[i don get it. O_o]]

Holly was certainly confuzzled by this clue...a square? A wet place? She didn't quite get it...the hot spring, maybe?

It being the only thing she could think of, she headed into town, calling Buck after herself, and waving a hoof at the fillies. She trotted into town, unsure whether or not she was going the right way. She trotted into the inn curiously, looking around for the twin innkeepers. She wasn't 100% certain on this clue, so she was hoping to ask them if Gladwin had come through here.

"Excuse me? Innkeepers?" She called softly, wary of the completely empty inn.

While she waited for a response, she tried to rethink the letter, and pulled it out of her pack once more, and unfolded it again, and noticed that the bottom of the letter had an ever-so-tiny crease in it. Upon pulling the tiny crease open, she found the additional mention on the note:

It's where we met Colton and Flux for a double date ."

Holly squinted at the note incredulously. DUH! The fountain! How could she be so stupid!

"C'mon, buck!" She flipped on her rear hooves and ran out of the inn, galloping off towards the fountain, the dog loping along behind her, panting softly. FINALLY, she arrived at the fountain, and looked around everywhere. She searched high and low, watched for ponies that looked like they may be part of this...checked the figures in the statue. She was just about to give up when a glimmer of setting sunlight gave a flash of light to something at the bottom of the pool. She jumped into the fountain, not caring who saw her. Now she was dirty, mane frazzled, strung out thinner than a toothpick, and WET to top it all off. She waded towards the shimmer, and at the bottom of the pool, weighted down by a couple of bits, was a plastic baggy, with a little note inside, "URRGH!"

She dove her face into the cold water and grabbed the note before clambering out of the fountain and pulling it out of the bag with her teeth, and then magicking the letter open...

  16. err I should also add that while it is possible to fall in love with non human objects it is not a psychologically normal or healthy form of love

I strongly agree with this, but I also differ from it a little.

I believe that unreciprocated love would be considered obsession, and not true 'love' in order for at least MY definition of 'love' to exist, there has to be some sort of emotional response from the thing/being that is being loved. To be 'in love', in my opinion, is to have a meeting point of love. Where you love, and are loved in return, in a way only associated with that individual, and not felt towards anything or anything else.

I am currently 'in love' with my boyfriend. He loves me, and I love him in return. The idea of being with anypony else doesn't process in my mind. When I imagine losing him, I almost cry. When he is sad, I cheer him up. When we get angry, we forgive eachother. This is being 'in love'.

I love my dogs as children, and they love me as their caretaker. That does not make me 'in love' with them.

I love my little pony toys, but again, I am not 'in love' with them, as they feel nothing in reciprocation towards me.

I firmly believe that loving an inanimate object, a fictional character, or even say...being in love with a sheep, which does not even have the capacity to feel love, is NOT love. It's obsession, and would be considered a form of insanity, if only a minor one. But all it takes is a minor one to become a major one, and then....the next CSI episode.

  17. hollydashcharacter.png

Holly sighed, remembering...not so fondly, when she had almost drowned outside of Canterlot. Now that she thought about the note, she began to wonder. Where on earth was her dog? Perhaps he was off with Gladwin...she just hoped he hadn't gotten lost....

She debated whether or not to head outside of Canterlot, or whether she would seek the dog. Thinking back, she hadn't seen the animal since early in the morning...when she and Gladwin had taken separate paths. She had been so caught up in finding notes, she hadn't noticed when he was no longer with her this morning in the square. The more she thought about it, the more she worried.

'Calm down, Holly...he's fine....he's just....with Gladwin somewhere, right?' She took a few deep breaths, fighting back the tears that came to her eyes, "Yeah, he's fine. Fine! Ah got clues to get!"

Forcing the thought away, she headed out of Canterlot, quick on her hooves. As she got out to the sunny fields of Canterlot, she looked everywhere to find the note, and off, far in the distance, in the center of the not-so frozen lake, was a certain black dog, paddling about like he was having the time of his life, the ball of some fillies in his jowels, "BUCK!"

She galloped the long distance to the lake remarkably fast, again her natural ability for speed coming into play as she ran towards her swimming pet, arriving just as he got out of the water and shook off onto the squealing fillies, "Miss, is this yur doggy? He's fun! Can we have a ride?"

Holly laughed, and nodded, "Of course you can! He loves kids...in fact...he loves everypony! Well....cept for this one mare in Canterlot with a chihuahua......" she shook off the memory of the dog growling at the stranger, "But that's not ya'll, so he'd love to give ya'll a ride!"

Just as the fillies were clambering onto the dog, she noticed the sealed barrel around his neck, and smiled. Gladwin was smarter than he looked! She magicked the collar off the dog, just to slip the barrel off, and open the letter, glancing back and forth from it to the dog as it gave the children rides....
