  1. I'm gonna be roleplaying two characters, upon my little brother's request xD

    NAME: Pinstripe

    GENDER: Male

    SPECIES: Unicorn

    TEAM: EI-KON R/D

SHIP TYPE: Fighter(Special ship: Fury-class prototype, more firepower, more armor)

    PILOT PROFILE:

    =Personality:

Pinstripe is a pony of contrasts; on the track, he's a monster, preferring to cause chaos, rather than try to win first place. There weren't any rules about being the last one standing.... off the track, he's a rather good pony, albeit somewhat awkward.

    =Skills:

Bloodthirsty- increased accuracy with all weapons.

QL Field Expert- Able to change the shape of his QL field as he's piloting, allowing him to gain more maneuverability/speed, although this has a limit...

    =Racing style: Extreme aggressive

    NAME: Analog Stick

    GENDER: Male

    SPECIES: Unicorn

    TEAM: EI-KON R/D

SHIP TYPE: Agility(Special ship: EIKON Raider FX300, faster and more maneuverable than most Agility class craft.)

    PILOT PROFILE:

    =Personality:

Analog Stick is cool, and collected, on and off the track. This helps him work under tense situations.

    =Skills:

    Sharp Reflexes: increased reaction speed

QL Field Expert- Able to change the shape of his QL field as he's piloting, allowing him to gain more maneuverability/speed, although this has a limit...

    =Racing style: Defensive

  2. The year is 2082, Princess Twilight Sparkle has invented a special type of magic, that can be stored and used in magic crystals. Quantum levitation, a magic that defies gravity, and can be used by everypony. This prompted her to start Twilight Systems, or TWI-SYS. This company was bought by Neighponese businessponies, forcing Princess Celestia, in a rapidly developing field of magic, to form the Canterlot Institute of Sience and Antigravity Research, or CISAR. Then, a further split in in TWI-SYS by two arguing employees forced two other companies to be born; Euricom and EI-KON R/D. Further competition between these young companies soon started the QLRC, or Quantum Levitation Racing Championship.

Stakes are high, survival chance is low, this is...

    WipEout QUANTUM

WELCOME to the WipEout QUANTUM universe, to participate in the QLRC, you must first register using this character sheet. It is shown below...

    TEAM: [TWI-SYS, CISAR, Euricom, EI-KON R/D]

    SHIP TYPE:

-Speed: A light ship, built for supreme speed, it is incapable of firing offensive weapons, and can only use boost items, and defensive weapons(such as mines, shield, turbo, and disruptor traps)

-Agility: A medium ship, built for taking the corners. It can use offensive weapons AND defensive weapons. It is the most balanced of the three ship types.

-Fighter: A heavy ship, made especially for dealing damage. It has a damage boost to offensive weapons, and sacrifices the ability to use mines, for bombs.

  3. "Ya don't seem very likeable, son." Outryder shrugged, getting a grip on one of the unconscious guard ponies. He and 121 exchanged a long stare, before the earth pony spoke up again. "Now, where to?" he asked, his voice strained, due to the sheer weight of the guards. "Quickly, lugging around KO'd ponies covered head to hoof in gear really tires a pony out."

The Northern Pegasus is an offshoot of the Equestrian(Mainland) Pegasus, whose wings, over time, evolved to fly faster, due to co-evolution with the Northern Griffons. This evolution has caused the Northern Pegasus' wings to elongate and sharpen, and their forms to become more petite. With less mass, it is easier for the wings to pick up speed, even at low altitudes. Their maximum velocity can near that of the Sonic Rainboom, albeit this can only be reached in extremely high altitudes(nearing the upper atmosphere), where this kind of flight cannot be maintained for long, or else it is a risk for the pony's life.

This extreme speed has created a culture built around being the fastest (Rainbow Dash's idea of heaven?), with constant tournaments, and challenges of speed and endurance. It seems that these pegasi were bred to race.

Hey, everypony, and site admins(who I'm aiming this thread at). Pinstripe here, with an idea for a new species for use in Canterlot Chronicles, or WoE. The point of this thread is to see if people like the idea of a falcon-like pegasus, instead of the normal, what I assume to be "eagle-like" pegasus. If you have any ideas for improving this species, please feel free to post! I'm always up for constructive criticism.

  5. Anothe gunshot rang out from the depths of the forest, a heavy brass round, hitting one of the Equestrian soldiers in the side. An earth stallion, dressed in a brown overcoat stepped out of the bush, toting what appeared to be a modified Griffon revolver pistol. "Now look what'chu boys made me done do. You heard the two-leg. Get outta here." The pony stepped up beside 121, nodding slowly at him. "Now, I don't exactly trust ya, but I insist on helpin." he said. "Name's Outryder. Real cowpony. Not like them Apple family flukes." Outryder turned towards the guards, getting up on his hind legs, putting the pistol into both his hooves. He looked like he knew what he was doing. "Come git sum'!"

  6. PROLOGUE

Equestria, Age of Exodus, Year 1

Princess Celestia sighed, overlooking her once-shining bastion of Canterot. It was ruined, sent astray by the greedy minds of the Digital Revolution, started all those years ago. At first, the Solar Princess was greatly pleased with the invention of the microchip. It would further allow ponies to be happy. Some ways more savory than others. She didn't listen to her younger sister, who predicted, with great accuracy, that this great invention would be turned wicked, used to create strife. She was right. Her peaceful children began waging war on a massive scale, building machines of death using the very same technology used to make them happy. Skirmishes turned into wars, wars into conquests. Conquests into dominion over the planet. Why would they not stop? Greed and corruption has reached their soft hearts, sister. It is too late to save them. The words of her younger sister rang in Celestia's head, and now she could see she was too late. A guard.... no, a soldier, a warrior of her corrupted kingdom approached her, grabbing hold of her foreleg. "Princess, we need to evacuate the castle, now." The deity gave the stallion a strange look, before nodding slowly. "Stay here and defend my keep. I will go alone." It was time to leave, just like Luna did a few nights ago.,

She watched in deep remorse, as her castle fell, the loud cracks of rifles, and the thunderous applaud of the cannons were drowned out by falling rubble. Her kingdom, her children, turned against each other. But for what? Money? Power? Happiness? Not that, Celestia thought to herself. This is not the right way. Celestia looked at the moon, giving it a slow nod. She still loved her children, and even though they did not seem to deserve it, she would give them a final gift. She would raise the sun herself for the last time. Spreading her wings, the alicorn took off. The gunfire stopped, the conflict stopped. All was tranquil, just like before. Before all the complications of the society she encouraged. If only she could change that. ...Too late... The thought rang in Celestia's head again. It was. I can now only give them this. Something, before I leave. The Princess stopped, taking a look at her surroundings. She could see the planet as a whole. It looked so peaceful, quite the opposite on the surface. It was time. The divine thrum of Celestia's magic emanated from her horn, the soft golden glow illuminating her face. She turned to the dormant sun, before flying off towards it. The ponies, her children watched, as Celestia blessed them with a last sunrise, before disappearing from the mortal plane. She would return. It was a promise.

    Pinstripe Presents...

    NO PLACE I CAN BE

    A semi-crossover of Firefly.

Ponyville Sector, Former Independent Space, Age of New Beginnings, Year 502

Outryder groaned, slumping in his chair. He couldn't fly this thing himself. Too hard. Especially the engine-fixing. Heck, he recalled just a few minutes ago, he fixed a coolant leak with some duct tape and a few paperclips. Way to go, cowboy. The stallion thought to himself. I need a gorram crew. Some good folk, ponies I can trust. Maybe six. Outryder mulled the thought over in his head, before nodding. "Yeah. Six." The stallion perked up, tapping a few keys on the navigation console. "New Ponyville, here we come." he said, before pushing on the throttle. The soft hum of the engine came over Outryder, before his ship, Rainbow Dashed sped off into the vast reaches of space. He loved this ship tenderly, like a child to his mother. It had been his home for ages. Yes, a rather cramped, dank little home, but home, nonetheless. Outryder switched on autopilot, before heading off to roam his ship. He stopped at the mess, no, it was a dining room. Bare. Grey walls. They'd look nice if they were yellow. And if I had things to put on them. He thought, before trotting off to his bunk. He was going to get his earth pony self some rest. He was tired.

Generosity Falls, New Ponyville, A few days later...

"Alright, listen up, gorramit! I need me six able-bodied ponies, who can run a ship. Now, I ain't takin' kids, mommies, daddies, or anypony who wants to get off this here planet. Just six able bodied ponies who can run a ship with me."

  7. Pinstripe shrugged, actually quite unsure of that. When do we start? Pinstripe thought to himself. The receptionist spoke up again, in her raspy, smoker's voice. "Right now, sweetie." Pinstripe nodded some. He was suddenly called over by the desk-bound mare. Slowly, Pinstripe trotted towards her. The mare spoke in a low voice, dripping with venom. "I know why you're here, kid. Don't you dare ever place a single hoof on one of those mares, I will fire you so hard, nopony will take you in for another job." Pinstripe was now very confused, scared even. "Y-yes ma'am." he muttered, before trotting off to talk to Starwing and Fluttershy once more.

  8. Alright. It's high time we did a Trek style RP. First thing we need to figure out would be the setting. TOS would probably be the most sensible era to use.

    Anyone interested?

I've also found a couple ship designs we could use. Feel free to post more designs, if you don't like these ones. Remember, the look of the HMS Harmony

    is in YOUR hooves!

    Schrodinger class(like the cat)

  9. Pinstripe gave the shy-looking mare a soft smile, trying to remember her name. "Uh... I don't remember you being here last week for the interviews. What's your name again?" Of course, he actually totally did remember the mare's name, but he forgot. They did, after all, exchange awkward glances during interview night, and to be honest, he thought she was pretty cute. Still, he tried to stay professional, man. We're not here to pick up mares. Besides, those two are way out of your league. Pinstripe reached into his saddlebag, not using his magic for some reason. Unusual for a unicorn. He pulled out a few books, placing them on the table beside him. After a few moments of rummaging, the pistachio-coloured pony finally pulled a large manila envelope out, with the seal of Ponyville stamped on the front. "Here, uhm... read through this." he said, passing the envelope on to the two newcomers.

  10. [OH MY GOD YES. JOIN.]

Pinstripe stood in the lobby of the building, the sterile white lights hurting his eyes some. Weren't hospices supposed to be nicer looking than hospitals? He thought, taking a seat. He took a quick glance around the room, before sighing. Pinstripe got up out of his seat, trotting up to the receptionist. "Hi, uhm... did somepony named Starwing pass by here?" The receptionist; a middle-aged mare, who seemed to have a problem chewing gum(she smacked it around in her mouth. Disgusting.) nodded, simply pointing at the lobby doors. A young pegasus mare entered right on cue. Wow, convenient.

    "She's right there, sweetie."

Pinstripe smelled the cigarette smoke on her. The mare's voice was also a telltale sign. He looked at Starwing, before tapping the receptionist's desk with a hoof. "Thanks." he said, approaching the newcomer. "You're the other intern. My name's Pinstripe."

  11. -------------------------------

Pinstripe sat up in his bed, holding his head in his hooves. "I need a bath." he muttered, before climbing out of the thick tangle of sheets and pillows. His hooves pressed against the carpet floor as he stood there for a moment, before making his way over to the bathroom. He stared at the mirror, before leaning over the counter to get a good look at himself. Wasn't he supposed to be happy about today? He just found a new job. Maybe the job itself was what got him. He was working at the local hospice. The word left a bad taste in his mouth. "Hospice." he mulled over the word, before shaking his head. Pinstripe twisted the knob on his shower, letting it run for a few moments, before stepping in. The warm water washed over his body, soaking into his fur, and onto his skin. This always seemed to calm him down. He ran his hooves through his mane, standing there for a few more minutes, under the warm shower. You're doing a good thing, Pinstripe. I mean, come on; giving up your free time to keep sick ponies company? Pinstripe shut the water off, stepping out of the shower. He pulled at a towel, hanging lazily on the rack, drying himself off. Dying ponies. I'm watching ponies slowly die out.

Pinstripe was soon out the door, adjusting his scarf, as it billowed in the cool autumn breeze. Yeah, but, at least you're keeping them company, right?

    I guess so.

  12. He'd agreed to go into the Everfree Forest. Not something he'd do in his lifetime, but....

Pinstripe groaned loudly, getting up. "Ow." he muttered, taking a good look around. Or, rather, in his immediate area. He couldn't see past the tall stalks of corn. Everything was taller. "Yo! Somepony get a bearing on where we are. Doesn't look like Equestria anymore." The pistachio-coloured stallion lurched out of the cornfield, trotting up to the side of the road. "What was that?" he asked, trying to find any sign of the metal behemoth that sped past. "Might've been a train. No tracks, though." A few more cars whizzed by, the drives inside not at all noticing the group of cartoon horses on the side of the road.

[We should get picked up by bronies.]

  13. WARNING: THIS GUIDE IS MERELY A QUICK GLANCE AT THE MBTI, AND SHOULD NO WAY BE TREATED AS A FULL REFERENCE. DO SOME FURTHER READING TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THIS SYSTEM.

I can also help you in understanding the system. If you need help with creating a character with this outline, drop me a PM, and I'll be sure to help.

A character is a hard thing to create. It's a person, living, breathing, thinking. A good character is always dynamic, though tends to stick to certain core functions, their psychic makeup(not literally. Read on to figure out what this means). It's a daunting task, but many people have different ways of dealing with this. One way I have recently discovered is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI. Now, this sounds like a bloodwork thing, doesn't it? Not really. The MBTI is a useful, albeit complex system of determining someone's personality at a glance. Emphasis on at a glance. This system is only used for creating a good outline for a person or character, and should not be used to create the whole character itself. This guide will run through the history of the MBTI, and how to use it.

    HISTORY:

The original concept of the MBTI was created by Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist, in 1910, in his book Psychological Types. The original concepts were further expanded in the 1940s by a mother-daughter team of Katherine Cook Briggs, and Isabel Briggs Myers. Their improved concept was used during wartime, for women to determine which field of work they would be best suited to. It was a success, as evident by the efficiency of the American workforce of the period. The two soon published their concept in the 1960s, and the MBTI is now used worldwide as a characteristic guide.

    DETAILS:

The MBTI consists of 4 different categories, consisting of two opposite parts(these are known as dichotomies):

    -Attitude: Introverted v. Extroverted

These two terms are somewhat different than what is normally known in this case; introverts find energy alone, or in small groups, and extroverts find energy in large crowds, or in large group work. Now, both types can work in each others' environments, but they find it tiring, and naturally, they would seek what they find familiar.

-Functions: Sensing v. Intuition and Thinking v. Feeling

These four terms are all the most major part of the MBTI, and affect most parts of the other sections.

People(or characters) who sense, rather than use their intuition, like to examine data and information, and distrust hunches, rather gathering conclusions based on solid fact. People who use intuition work with their gut feeling, sometimes being able to make conclusions before even knowing why these conclusions were made. The caveat to this, though, is that sometimes, their hunches can steer them in the wrong ways. Sometimes to horrible results.

Thinkers tend to come to logical conclusions, theirs being calculated, almost cold, distant. Let me use an example; a man who is a "thinker" is a manager of a factory. His boss tells him that his factory needs to ramp up production. He would work to improve the machines of the factory, leaving the workers to do their job as is. He believes that the problems lie in the machines themselves. However, a feeler would talk to the workers of the factory floor, trying to figure out errors in communication. The machines are doing just fine, they're designed that way. The problem lies in the involved parties. A tactful person, the feeler would soon mediate between the workforce, and his boss, allowing them to communicate better, thus solving the proble

    -Lifestyle: Judging v. Perception

Generally, these terms are used to describe how the person appears in the outside world. Someone who judges tends to use the more "logical" options, namely thinking, and sensing. They appear to prefer "having matters settled." Someone who percieves tends to look more empathetic, using the more "abstract" options, like intuition, and feeling. They come off as preferring to "keep their options open."

    CATEGORIES(or, confusing stuff)

There are 16 total outcomes to the MBTI, all of them involve two sets of four letters:

    (Extraversion)E-I(Introversion)

    (Sensing)S-N(Intuition)

    (Thinking)T-F(Feeling)

    (Judging)J-P(Perception)

These letters can be combined to create an outcome, like INFP, which, coincidentally, is the outline of Fluttershy.

In a party, an INFP would feel generally uncomfortable in the centre of the party. He/She would back out of the party, if it seems to get out of hand for him/her, maybe to catch up with his/her old friend, in private, and maybe talk about "the good old days," when they lived in simpler times. Notice how each action of the person works with the classification. Introverts dislike large groups, in this case, the party, and how he/she used their gut feeling to back out of the party. They felt it was an opportunity to chat with their old friend, and reminisce about the past, and how they thought those were better times.

Now, this system is in NO way used to make characters dull. Just to connect the dots to make a pretty good outline of what the character would do in a situation. Also, this system is not meant to restrain the character in any way, as growing out of it, like the introvert trying to interact in the party, is character development. Perhaps that introvert learns to like large company, or maybe they still prefer to hang back. The details are up to you.
