  1. As both a way to learn about things going on in Canterlot, as well as introduce my character, Raven Shadowfire, I'm looking for a small group to explore Canterlot with.
  2. Dear diary Today I moved in. I finally have a place all my own, and it's adorable! I'm so nervous excited to finally live in Canterlot all on my own with nopony to stop me.. Everyone helped move me today too, mom and dad, even Glimmer too. I think she's still upset that I left, but I know it's for the better. There isn't anything for me in Cloudsdale, everypony knows this, and I think Canterlot will be a great place for me to find new friends and maybe new arrangements to try. Oh! I haven't told you the best part, Diary. I moved in right above a flower shop! Isn't it great? I'll be able to live super close to the thing that has been my dream since I was a young filly, so fascinated with Earth Pony dwellings.. I really hope this is the best decision for me, Diary. I don't know what I'd do or where I'd even live if I didn't have this place.. Anyway, I really should go to bed now. I've got more unpacking to do tomorrow! See ya, ~Lila
  3. @SteelEagle She had tried to tell her. It's not as if there was any air of mystery - the two of them knew the kind of pony that Daring Do was, and they knew what kind of adventures she went on, and they even knew what her publishing schedule would be. Still, such knowledge appeared not to deter Rainbow Dash, and so that's when the two of them found themselves making their way to Canterlot. Okay, that wasn't the only reason; Twilight Sparkle had been told that she was stressing herself out too much with royal princess duties along with maintaining the school, and had been recommended by her friend to close it down for a teacher's out day. Twilight wasn't sure, in hindsight, that the suggestion had really been in her favor, but rather as a result of Rainbow herself wanting some time off, especially after she'd caught word that Rainbow had Applejack cover for her shift, but she hadn't the heart to question her friend on it. And so the two of them were on a trip to Canterlot, over to the old library (which in hindsight, Twilight hadn't brought any of them to) to see if she had a secret limited edition copy of one of the Daring Do novels, since Twilight had been the avid collector back then. She doubted she had it. She was pretty sure she'd given Rainbow all the copies she knew about. But she knew also that once Rainbow's mind was set on something, she wouldn't be dissuaded. And so they were fluttering over to her old Canterlot home, a large building whose windows appeared especially boastful now that Twilight was visiting it with a friend and made her ears wilt to witness. She became especially subconscious as she was pretty sure she could see from their angle that cobwebs collected within her old home; despite suggesting that she should clean up around there, she apparently hadn't gotten around to it... One could justify it by saying she'd been distracted by her attempt to reconnect with her old friends as well as the emotional energy expended with trying to make it up with Moondancer, but Twilight didn't like making excuses for sloppiness in behavior. She also knew that Rainbow wouldn't mind, but that didn't stop it from being embarrassing... She landed in front of the door and opened it with her magic. "Well, here it is, my old home. I'm sorry for the mess... Apparently when I came back here to look for information on my old friends, I'd forgotten to clean it up. I really ought to get around to that," she sighed. This was supposed to be a break, wasn't it? She still felt rather wired and tense. Maybe it was just this old home in general. Something in the air that got to her. It certainly felt lonely, at least, with how her hoofsteps echoed off the walls.
  4. Her Blindness had stumped her again. It was never always an issue, her Echolocation was a good replacement that allowed her to do some things normally. Sometimes ponies wouldn't even know of her impairment. The only clear factor of her blindness is her eyes when they are open, and when they are closed one might wonder how she doesn't bump into things. Loose Cannon was in Canterlot temporarily for future business. She was planning on joining the guard so she needed to go to the recruitment center. Because of her condition, it would take a while for them to come to the decision as Canterlot hasn't ever had a blind guard before, but the recruiters expressed their interest. They sent her home saying they'd notify her later through mail, hopefully in Braille. This wasn't the first time she was in Canterlot ever, but it was in the last five years. She decided to spend some time looking around the city. It wasn't as exciting as ponies say. One of the various reasons ponies come to visit Canterlot is just to admire the architecture of the city. But to her, it didn't leave much to be desired. When she was done she decided that it would be better to just leave and go back home to Ponyville. Off to the train station, she would go. No wait, that's not the station. Not that either. This is back where she started. This was the problem. She didn't know where the train station was. Canterlot was a big city and the locals weren't always so kind. "I don't have time for this, They'd say or mostly "Just use a map." She would have liked to just use a map. Maps are distributed to all tourists who need them. She was kind of a tourist. But maps are colour based so she couldn't use a map. She tried to look out for a pony that may seem like they could help, but if there was one, they were diluted among the rest. She stood there on the side of the street with a look of concern.
  5. It had been FOREVER since Cashmere had stepped hoof back into Ponyville! He'd been so busy touring the great country that he'd neglected to come home, well now was the time to do so! Cashmere missed creating, missed chatting, but most of all, he was HOMESICK, and wanted to rekindle feelings between himself and his fellow mares and stallions. The grey Unicorn was practically humming, as he threw open the curtains of his shop, and let the light in, fixing his mane with his magic in the mirror, grinning at himself as he did so, before strutting out onto the bustling city streets! Hello World! Cashmere was back and he was here to stay! The air felt so good he'd almost break into song, if he had time to actually think of one, instead humming "Winter Wrap Up" would have to do. "Good morning~!"
  6. It was an invitation that had been long overdue. Not that the princess was only just now inviting her to meet with her. That wasn't the case at all. The princess's invitation had been outstanding for a while now. However, everyt time that Ice Storm was going to get an opportunity to finally take the invite up, something else happened and she had to immediately go into something else either with her shops, or for matters of even more importance such as Equestrian Defense missions or the like. Even today something that would normally have pulled her away was prior obligations in Ponyville, but Ice Storm had decided that the waiting had been long enough. She could easily meet with the princess in the morning before heading to the train station and making her way to ponyville for the celebration there. She had already made some plans in Ponyville to help out with the festivities, plus that's were Luna and Twilight were, both of which were ponies that she had a personal history with so she felt it proper to attend the celebration that they were hosting. Plus it was Ponyville. Something always seemed to happen there. That wasn't to say that the celebration here in Canterlot wasn't just as important. Just she knew less ponies here and felt that she would have a better time with the ponies in Ponyville. It had been long enough though since she had seen most of them that she wondered if they would still recognize her. Those thoughts left her mind though as she trekked through the snow-filled streets somewhat early in the morning. She estimated it was only a couple of hours after sunrise. The air was still delightfully crisp and she could taste the moisture and the snow with every breath that she took. She was perfectly content with the chill that encompassed her as she absorbed the sunshine that, thanks to the snow, was bathing her from all angles. Every step she took, the soft crunch of snow under her hooves could be heard as she made her way up the palace steps. Only this time she wasn't heading to her observatory. When she reached the top of the stairs she pulled out the invitation that Celestia had sent to her. "Ahh, Mrs. Storm, we've been expecting you, Permission to enter granted, enjoy your visit," she heard and entered the palace. She almost had to do a double take. She was here at least three nights a week and the Night Guard still looked at her with some sort of suspicion. Perhaps the night guard were just that much more protective. She wouldn't really have any idea why though, but that wasn't really her business. Without a second thought, she made her way to the throne room where she had presumed the princess to be, and awaited permission to enter.
  7. The beautiful white streets of the castle town of Canterlot we're littered with broken glass over turned carts and ponies buckling down in fear of whatever was tearing around the streets at high speeds causing this destruction. A blur of blue and silver tore down the city's streets letting off sonic booms every time it took off or turned a corner, only further adding to damaging the royal capital. The residence we're confused as to what was happening and more than a little pissed off their belongings we're being destroyed. A jeweler was sitting in tears as the door of his shop had been torn off it's hinges and all the valuables in his shop had vanished along with the blue blur. The supersonic object approached Canterlot Park and came to a screeching halt, now it was slowing down it could be seen more clearly. The object behind all this destruction was a stallion sized blue dragon with silver spines. Digging his claws into the ground while spreading his wings to create drag assisting in breaking, a shower of golden coins and glittering jewelry rushed past him landing in great pile before the dragon in the center of the park. The dragon known as Bolt smiled zipping atop the horde he'd amassed from Canterlot's citizens. He fell back looking relaxed placing his claws behind his head his tail swishing back and forth across the ill gotten gold. "This is the life." He told himself closing his eyes letting the diamonds and rubies drift between the claws on his toes.
  8. Canterlot: the seat of the celestial princesses of Equestria. Carved into the side of a mountain, steeps hills were chiseled down into stony steppes. The ingenuity of a pony tribe looking to create a center in their growing culture. Though there were many ponies who settled into the center of Equestrian lifestyle: Unicorn culture was strongest high in the clouds, far beyond terra below. While the icy climates were worse higher up, becoming blistering and biting: the capital was nestled perfectly in the middle, having the best of both worlds. Gentle snow in the winter and temperate springs. Here was where the spirit of chaos sought to pervert the peace. He had come by and by to hassle the sun maiden, but her hours spent either signing paperwork or tending to throngs of subjects quickly bored him. With fall arriving close behind the memories of summer the spirit was feeling lazy. It was neither hot nor cold, just a quiet lull. Stretched out on one of the balcony of the castle towers, the draconequus would resign to watching the peasantry addle along the streets below. His slender body was coiled out across the gold banister, tail pooling on the marble surface behind him. His paw was laid out, head rest over the furry moccasin. His griffin's claw dangled down, digits working his invisible puppet strings. Ruby pupils were of alternating sizes so it was a bit difficult to view the chaotic spirit as anything but mad, but he has an intelligence that rivaled most mad geniuses!! …wait… But alas those twitching digits would assault passing ponies below with precarious pranks delivered in a myriad of ways. The acts of chaos were delivered by awkward gusts of wind tossing away work worth the whole week, landing into puddles of soapy water: said waters becoming soapy after a cart bubble water lost a wheel which tarried its way across town, creating a distressing scene at a local crepe vendor's cart. Stray animals didn't mind a free meal!! The serpentine chimera chuckled as ponies panicked, or fluttered about on confusion. But such simple pleasures… there had to be something more challenging out there! The spirit looked to his claws, humming softly. "The key to a pleasureable life, is living it." He chuckled as he pushed off the banister and floated just above it. He would find himself a new game.
  9. Clip. SQUISH. Clip. SQUELCH. Clippity-Cloppity-SQUASH! This was the symphony of noise that followed the Ponyville born earth pony in the otherwise calm streets of the Equestrian capital, home to the twin Princesses and Equestria's 'uppercrust'. Not somewhere she'd personally choose to live, but she'd made many a delivery to this city of sky reaching minarets and spiraling towers that reminded her so much of the lollipops of Sugar Cube Corner - all exuberant and fancy and full of colour. And all not worth even a passing glance from the mare who was leaving a trail of muddy brown clumps that disheveled themselves from her mane, hooves and tail whenever she took a step. She had stayed in this city for the past...well...for quite a bit actually, she'd had to with her mother's condition and the brand new baby sibling that'd graced her life - much to her joy - and as such she had been pretty much stuck in this city. With its dire lack of dirt, she was lucky that her mother had chosen to stay with a friend that had such a big garden, with a broad expanse of mud for her to muddy her hooves and live up to her namesake. And live up to it she did! No rain, nor sleet, nor pretentious city ponies and their paved streets would keep her from immersing herself in the damp dirt that she loved so much. HOWEVER! She had work to do. As any good older sister and doting daughter, she was out to get groceries, some carrots for mom, maybe some oranges, few imported Ponyville apples for herself and something for the little filly. She loved her baby sister Sugar Lump, sweet as her name implied and just as full of energy as she was - she wished her father would come back from work in the islands to see them all sometime - and she was determined to get a good present. Needless to say some ponies gave her a wide berth and quite a few glares when she went window shopping and smeared her mud covered hooves over their clean windows for support, or smudged her nose up against it and dirtied it with her equally muddy fringe. But MudBug didn't give two shakes of a foal's tail. She was here for her sister and as they did with most times, the glares aimed her way just rolled off the filthy filly's back like rain water. Though she didn't get them all the time, in fact she was curious what friendly faces she'd get to see today.

I wanted to draw something for Canterlot, so this is what I came up with! 17 users participated in this besides me, I'm actually surprised this many people joined in. Overall I like this, I had a lot of fun drawing this many OCs! Maybe I'll do another one of these next year. I'll put all the solo pics for those who have asked for one in the request thread soon. Thanks to to all the participants! Copyrights down below!

  12. Since most of my threads are winding down, I figure I have place on my plate for one new one. I look at this one more toward the underbelly of what most of us think of in the world of MLP. The secret backroom deals of political rivals to keep things going in their own favor; while keeping the common pony as in the dark as possible. I am also a romanticizing player that loves a good old fashioned Mafia Novel. Gangster ponies with fast carts and quicker tongue outrunning the law with stolen goods; fully suited and dressed up true gangsters that front their activities in proper tax paying businesses and fly low under the radar of the detectives pursuing them. To that end, I want to make a thread that includes politicians, nobility, crime ponies, common ponies duped into running errands without a clue about their true nature; and a long assortment of other crime genre related Dick Tracy style things. Are there any players interested in this sort of thing? I would like to make it a long running series of RPs that are fast paced, and active with a post a day sort of mentality.
  13. @DerpRavener --------- At this hour Canterlot was like a graveyard. The silent streets were scarcely lit by the dim, magically powered lamps that lined the pavement. Murders of crows stalked about refuse bins looking for a snack while small herds of ponies, here and there, were bundled up ear to hoof and seemed the only who dared traverse the icy, cobblestone roads as the silvery light of the evening sky illuminated the ice sheets that endangered the morning deliveries. Winter was nearly set in place, the season occupied by ponies preparing for the Hearth Warming in the months to come. At a corner, just outside a local bakery, a few ponies laughed and talked beneath the light of a corner lamp. The shadow of the grand, Canterlot Castle, loomed over the city with warranted authority. It's pristine, white walls were a tragedy to the artistically inclined. The piecing towers of gold produced a rainbow light upon sunrise that would break across the morning sky. Their voices were gushed as to not disturb the denizens of the nearby apartment complexes. Down the way were a few stone homes purchased by those well off, not a noble in sight as they occupied land closer to the castle and the more telling altitude along the mountainous territory. Today a specter ripped across the streets. Through alleyways and across roofs. It's passing creating a whipping chill of wind that caused ponies to shiver and the murders to scatter. From the spectre ran a small being. Paws padded on the ground, sloppy and with little direction. It's body was soft, as if made of the finest velvet. Button eyes were as black as the coal used to stuff the stockings of naughty ponies. The small being passed through the streets, turning corners only to vanish and appear somewhere else. It was as if a Wendigo was at its heels, for whenever it had been, the shadowy creature appeared in a flash. The small creature came to stop on the property of a certain homestead. Much of its most was concealed by the shadows, but it couldn't escape it's hunter for long. From the dark a pair of red dots lit up, a paw pressing down silently as it stalked its prey. Raised a claw, tipped with deadly talons it moved in for the pounce. A squeak escaped the tiny prey. A magical glow surrounded it, which forced open a nearby window. Leaping through it slammed the window closed as the hunter lunged at it. S L A M! Spooling into a pile of packed snow the serpentine chimera of a demigod found himself tail deep in the pile, fuming. Smoke escaped the top of his head in annoyance, malting the pile in question. Discord hated the cold, and to find himself in such a situation made him cranky. He tried to open the window, but he was disbarred by the creature's own magic. Snorted he shook the snow from the top of his head, manifesting a cap and scarf. His mitt covered paw raised up to knock on the door, glove claws moving to cross with his retreating arm to cross it over his feathery chest. "Well this is a fine predicament." He complained. Inside the homestead the critter scurried off into the dark to hide.
  14. To say that there were butterflies in her stomach as she waited at the end of the aisle for her bride to make her way down would have been an understatement. They certainly didn't feel like butterflies. She had faced death in the eyes many times. What with the events within the Spire, the missions that she's been on with EPIC. Her term in WhiteScar, her Tour in Neighpon, Her delve within the Crystal Caves looking for something that could save the entire pony kind from diseases. Her trek through the volcanic lands of the dragons to save her best friend. She had been through a lot of scary things, but none of that ever made her any more nervous than she was right now. Everything that she had aspired to be in her life was leading up to this very moment. Fire Heart. The one pony that she cared about more than any other pony in Equestria. To her, even the princesses were pawns when talking about her. Okay, perhaps that's a bit of an overstatement, but still. Fire Heart was the fire inside of her that kept her going and kept her on the front lines. She she gave her the drive and the will to protect others because in doing so she was protecting her as well. Now, after years of dating, and fights, and wars, and kidnappings. Everything was finally coming to a sense of closure. She stood there in the center of the Canterlot Gardens, at the end of an aisle that had been made specifically for her and her fiance. She boasted a white dress, with frosted embellishments flowing through the fabric, giving the dress the feel of flowing ice. Definitely a dress befitting of an ice mage, her topaz earrings and maneband melding with the ensemble quite elegantly. The cloudless sky gave way for the sun to glimmer off of her dress, and just enough of a breeze to accentuate the flowing design. She paid the weather ponies a good amount of bits to make sure they had absolutely perfect weather for the event Not too warm for her, but not cold for anypony else. She could feel her legs quivered a bit, both from standing there for a bit and because of the nervousness that was being felt. She looked around to all the ponies that had gathered for her wedding and smiled. This right here, was why she did what she did. And she never felt more proud of herself for it.
  15. Hello Everypony! This is the OOC sign up for the Wedding threads for Fire Heart and Ice Storm. This has been a plan in the works for a while and we finally have the time to make it come to fruition. That said, the wedding will take place in two parts. One thread will be specifically for the wedding itself that will start pretty much at the wedding ceremony. The other one is going to be the reception for everypony to mingle. Both of them will be set in the Canterlot Gardens. The date that the thread will actually start is still yet to be determined. 16. My how the weather in Canterlot had changed. Just a few weeks ago, Ice Storm was happily in her element. It was still nice and cool, bitterly cold for most ponies. That was then though. Now it felt like the Canterlot Weather Team was trying to get an early start on Summer and skip spring completely. It was really, really hot, and very, very balmy. So much to where Ice would start sweating the moment she walked outside of her shop. True, she was a mare that was equipped to counter this type of extreme weather for a short period such as an evening or two, but there were others that wouldn't. Then again, she also understood that there were ponies out there that would find this kind of weather acceptable. In fact her wife was one of those ponies. With her being a fire mage, she could handle the temperatures in the upper extremes just as easily as Ice Storm herself could be at ease in extreme cold. It definitely had some perks, and sometimes it was impossible to see inside their windows. She also really couldn't say to much about it either as they did have some really, really cold days this winter. Cold enough to where the mare of ice herself was feeling a bit chilled. It was only fair that there was some warmer days as well for normal ponies to recover from such a cold spell. Having just finished in her shop for the evening, and not having to go into the observatory tonight, Ice Storm started making her way towards the park. She would probably head towards the observatory at some point that evening anyway. She loved being there. There was so much to look at and take in. Most ponies would call it studying, but she called it inspiration, and a desire to know. She could see so much more of the stars and the sky from the observatory that the constellations that were here from the surface of Equestria while grand, were minimal in comparison. The more she looked through everything though, the more she realized just how lucky they were that things worked the way that they did here. From what she had studied, most planets orbit their systems stars, but that didn't seem to be the case here. Deep inside she wanted to know why, but at the same time, she didn't care. There was a balance here, and things that could be know that, in the grand scheme of things are better left unknown. The one thing that she knew right now though, was that it was just out right hot! She might have to go the the observatory anyway just to be inside. A small flick of her magic, and anypony that walked by her would instantly see a sheen on her coat from the moonlight. That sheen would be caused by the reflection of the moon off of the thin sheet of ice that was constantly coating her. It was just thin enough to be sustainable without any issure, and the fact taht it was made with her magic meant that she could allow it to conform to her body, and be flexible instead of rigid like ice usually is. It was the perfect way to keep cool on a balmy spring evening in Canterlot as she made her way to the hill that she grew up on when she first came to the city. She didn't know why, but she was always drawn to this hill. No matter where she went, or how far away she was. This one spot in all of Equestria constantly spoke to her, pulled at her, and left her to ponder on the events that led her to where she was today. There wasn't anything fancy about it either. Just a standard oak tree, and a hill that overlooked most of the park. Yet once again she found herself in its presence. She gave a gently smile as she laid her blanket out on the grass. This was even more important now so that she wouldn't get grass in the ice that she was channeling and ultimately get it stuck in her coat. She could easily get it out with a shower, but she'd already used all of her hot water for the shower she just took and knew there wouldn't be any left by the time she got home. A small part of her couldn't help but wonder if it was the steam from her shower that helped make it so muggy outside tonight. Surely one two hour shower wasn't enough to do something like that right? Once she was satisfied with her placement, she laid down herself on the blanket and looked to the stars, zoning everything else out as much as a professionally trained tactician and scout could. She was almost always completely alert to her surroundings and ready for most any surprise. However, that sometimes made it hard to relax because she was always on guard to expect something. It was Equestria after all. There was never a dull night. She had enough secret missions under her belt to acknowledge that. In fact, that would be what she would reflect on tonight. AS she looked up to the stars, she reflected back to the time that she was in Whitescar, right after WRAITH had released what she now called the Rage Plague on Askr, turning their allies into mindless, enraged, monsters. However, just like every disease, it always has a cure if you're willing to work hard enough to find it. Thankfully they did before it created too much of a catastrophe. She remembered taking a good hit that fight as well. She was good at defenses, but that was when she learned not to be over cocky with her defenses. Just because she can manipulate the density of the ice around her, and can make it stronger than most steel, doesn't mean that it can't be broken. She found that out the hard way in that fight, but even then her hoof was force, no one on that team looking back had much in the way of any good ideas with how to deal with the infected bous. With a small sigh, she let her head hang while she lay next to the tree, still deep in thought.
  17. ~~~Medo~~~ Well, this night hadn't exactly gone like Medo had envisioned it. A night that was planned to challenge her shy side and trying to make herself a few friends, but that proved to be a lot more difficult than she was expecting. The Empress being at the gardens was something that she really wasn't she was expecting either. She wasn't upset, but it made it to where her confidence was a bit stricken already. Then the mare that ran out of the ballroom talking about caribou and then the others that she found through the park. I guess it wasn't as bad as she thought that it had been. She didn't leave with many more friends that she would be able to spend a lot of time with, but she had made a few. And that's where she was now, standing in front of the Canterlot Cafe for tea with a mare that she had met in the park. The circumstances of their meeting that they had could have been much better, considering she approached Miss Sunrise after hearing and watching a pony she cared for not return feelings quite as strongly for her as she did. She felt like she needed to at least help make somepony's night better. So far she hadn't been able to help the empress, or the mare that had left the ballroom so she hoped that she would be able to help at least one pony tonight. "Alrighty, here we are at the Cafe. I've spent many nights here studying for different exams and the like for the semester that I've been here. It seems that this is a common place for students of the like, and everything here is pretty good. It's as good a place as any to get a drink and unwind from a long night," Medo spoke with a Sunrise.
  18. "Oh yes, thanks mom. Today is too great to waste indoors!" A unicorn filly cried, though she was quite obviously walking alone. That is, alone aside from the copy of her walking right next to her. "Not like I have things to study for or anything." the grumbling filly was wearing her white hoodie with the hood up, shaking her head a bit as she walked. "Oh, but it is a lovely day outside, can you really blame her for wanting you to experience it?" The copy said, smiling over at the original. She glared back for a moment before her horn lit and she dispelled the illusion with a little popping noise. "Yes, yes I can." She finished, looking around. Despite her grumbling, she couldn't exactly dispute that it was nice outside today. Who knows, maybe this would become more than a simple walk through the city.
  19. It had been a few months since Ice Storm had been to the castle. In fact, it had been most of the summer. For the past several years now, Ice Storm had been running her Snow Cone shop in Ponyville, and while it was an amazing business in the summer time, it wasn't that fruitful in the winter. She had tried opening the store here in Canterlot before but it didn't really take off well in the location that she had. She decided to move it to Ponyville just over about four years ago. Her mother was a bit upset to see her go away during the summers, and truthfully, Ice Storm didn't really like leaving either. However, she couldn't rightly just stay in the castle and just live off of the princesses. Not after her mother had done so much for her. It had been her that had taught her how to refine her magic, and how to manipulate the ice and snow better than anypony else around. It was this mastery of Ice that let her open her business, and is what allowed it to flourish. Ice Storm remembered like it was just yesterday how they had come to be. How she was laying in the park during one of her walks while her moon was at it's peak in the sky. She remembered the following conversations, the flash of light, and her reaction to the story that had been given to her. From that day forward, she had looked to Luna as her mother, taking in her words and following her lessons and rules. She didn't always like them or agree with them, but she was never in any position to protest them either. Especially since for the most part most of the rules were easy to follow and boiled down to treat everypony with respect and dignity. Something that she felt was a given anyway, with the exception of the upper class nobility. Ice Storm always had a distinct dislike, and almost hatred of nobility for what it did to her original family. She wouldn't go out of her way to disrespect them, but she would most definitely be curt when dealing with them when she had to. Most of the time she simply chose to avoid them. All of that was more in the past though. Today she sat on the return train from Ponyville to Canterlot. Ponyville had just seen it's first blast of cold and it's first snow. With that in mind, she said her temporary good-byes to her friends in Ponyville and told them that they could always come see her in Canterlot over the winter months and of course she would be back for Nightmare Night with her mother, as they were every year. The train itself was nothing unique. Just an ordinary train. She was already on the second day of the ride back, and was sitting in the passenger car. The would be pulling into the station soon, so she would need to be ready. She knew that a lot of the ponies would also be getting off here so she wanted to make sure she was ready to go just like everypony else. She imagined that her mother would be waiting of her at the station, presuming that she was able to get away from her courts. Of course it was usually Celestia that took care of the day courts, and the train was supposed to be coming into the station at around noon. It was now eleven fifty-seven. *DING* We are now approaching Canterlot Station. Estimated arrival time is two minutes. For our passengers who are departing us, thank you for choosing The Equestrian Express, for those who are passing through on the way to Solstice Heights or Stalliongrad, please remain seated until the departing passangers have left. There will be a four hour lay over while the train is resupplied and refueled. Please feel free to explore and stretch your hooves a bit afterwards. All departees should report to the baggage car to pick up the belongings that could not fit in their personal rooms. That said, we are pulling into the station now, please remain seated until the train comes to a complete stop, and again, thank you for choosing The Equestrian Express. With that Ice Storm gathered her belongings with her magic and began to organize everything in her saddle bags. Once she had everything where she wanted it, she waited for the train to stop before standing up and following the rest of the passengers outside. It was quite cool outside, but perfect for Ice Storm. Being pretty much one with the element of Ice, her body temperature was a lot lower than most ponies, so she could withstand the cold a lot better than most. It took quite a lot to get her temperature down to a near fatal level, but didn't take much for the temperature to go the other way. An average pony temperature for her, was a near fatal fever. As she stood outside, her saddle bag on her back, she moved to the baggage car which had the rest of her belongings. It wasn't much. Just a few more suitcases. She didn't bring much because she presumed that she would still have a good amount of supplies from her last stay. Once she had her bags, she proceeded through the station to the landing platform and began to look out for her mother, or if she couldn't find her, the lunar guard that she would have sent to get her.
  20. Can you believe it? I've been on here for a whole year now! I've had some good times, some great times, and some...interesting times. I've made a whole lot of friends. Creeped an IRL friend out (with the fact that I have so many online adult friends). Got two IRL friends to join the site (and then they both left). And welcomed a whole lot of people. I roleplayed a lot of roleplays, and got myself a Skype to roleplay even more! In this past year: -I got 7 of my OC's approved -I apped and am now an active player of Starlight Glimmer -I discovered making troll accounts and playing the same prank on your friend 4 times still works -I realized going on pony sites the night before your exam is not the same as studying -I learned the basics of speaking spanish -I learned a bunch of useless information of the Biological Kingdoms and Classification -I learned around (Eleven?) different chemical reactions -I continued to really hate math -I realized that, yes, it is possible to go from a literal fail to a perfect in essay writing (Maybe because roleplaying helped improve my writing skills?) -I received a microphone and realized I sound really bad on recording -I received a drawing tablet and realize I can actually draw -I learned the basics of economics -I learned how to cut a tree (Make an undercut. Make a back cut.) -I learned fishing boats. I can name 5 types (Gill net, purse seine, longline, trawl, otter trawl) -I realized that I have enough drama in my life that I don't need to watch reality TV shows -I started reading the news. -I made friends with my basic polar opposite (and we're bff's to date) -I don't actually know if this blog counts as a post. -I realized I should stop welcoming new members by pm (nothing good's ever come out of that) and leave somebody else to that job -I started watching anime other than Tokyo Mew Mew -I listened to Kpop and realized it;s not half bad. -I lost all the bets I made this year with my friends. -I knit about 7 more lines to my scarf. The same scarf that I've been knitting for 3 years (granted, I knit an average of 3 lines per year) -I realized that the death of a family member isn't always bad (you have to be thankful they lived for that long) -I learned that being passive-aggressive sometimes does you good -I really like the 'delete' and 'edit' button. -My online friends mean as much to me as my IRL friends -I have no idea how this list got so long. -I learned two things about two members that I probably could have learned if I just read their profile. Instead, it took about 12 months and a bunch of pm's. -There's a lot more than happened this year, but (a) I'm too lazy to make this list even longer (b) My memory is lapsing right now because I'm desperately trying to study at the same time. (c) Srsly people. I love to rp. This isn't really a reason, but I'm just being my random self again. Thanks for all the good times, guys~ And let's make many more! , Lyi Ps. I am not LYIPH. I am not a leaf. Please. The only way I can pronounce LYIPH is leaf. Pps. Lyipheoryia. Lie-i-fee-ore-ee-a. Lyi. Lee. Don't ask me why my nickname is pronounced differently from my first name. I don't know.

Personal Headcanon: Flitter attended Canterlot University as a student majoring in biology, she was also a cheerleader for the college hoofball team. Today she is a grad student at the university studying entomology for her doctorate, it is also why she has little dragonfly cutie mark, she is into little flying critters (both normal ones like insects, and magical ones, like Breezies, which is why she was in the Breezie episode). And if none of the above interest you, hey cute pony cheerleader!

  22. Hey guys *sigh* I have got so much going on today. I have to stay in school from nine till two, doing nothing but art. And at half eleven I have to go the the dentist. When I get home Free! Iwatobi swimming club is going straight on!
  23. ((OOC Thread: http://www.canterlot.com/topic/16118-a-casual-roleplay/#entry386688)) Ember looked around in awe as he trotted up the road to the entrance of Canterlot. It was about as different from the rock farm he'd grown up on as possible, and he still couldn't believe he was actually here! He swallowed nervously as he approached the gates, smiling awkwardly at the royal guards he passed. Wow... All the ponies here look so refined. A country pony like me's gonna stand out like a sore hoof... He continued to look around as he made his way down the streets at random, wondering where he'd find a place to stay. The one place he refused to look at, though, was the castle. I can't believe I'm so close to where the princess' stay! I wonder if I need some kinda permission to launch my fireworks... Eventually the stallion came to a stop at what seemed to be some kind of crossroad, uncomfortably aware of his singed mane and burned tail among all the fancy-looking ponies that passed by. "I wonder if they sell maps aroun' here..." Ember decided to wander around the wide area, to see if he might encounter something or somepony that could help him find his way.
  24. After a rough day of work, you and your friends decide to have a bit of fun that night. Doughnut Joe's is open pretty late in the night, so this is where you all head. You all meet in front of the bakery and head inside together, one of you with a bit of surprise news for the others. After the few of you get your doughnuts and drinks, you all sit down at a nearby table and begin your "night on the town," the one with news hardly able to contain him/herself, especially since the news will change almost everything about their lives. So, according to the intro, one of you have news to tell to the others. I won't force one of you to come up with something on the spot, but you can ask if you can be the one with the news. I'll probably give it to the first to ask, so hurry up! There are four friends at the bakery, my OC included. So, therefore, there can only be three other spots to fill. Hurry up and grab your spot! My character is Bright Eyes, a friendly pegasus who likes to relax on a cloud from time to time and has great skills in creativity. He has a light blue coat, like RD but a bit lighter, and a dark purple mane and tail with a white streak running down both, styled similar to RD's. A long description of your character isn't necessary, a simple one will do just fine. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
  25. Professor Clyde Krashkp Ms. Harshwhinney Standing in front of a vacant lot in downtown Canterlot was a large pitched tent that had a sign 'CAUTION, CONSTRUCTION AREA' out in front of it. Emerging from the tent were two ponies, an orange pelted blonde Earth mare dressed in a blue blazer. Beside her was a green furred elderly Pegasus who wore glasses. "Where is he? Where is this great architect you kept bragging to be about, Professor Krashkop?" Ms. Harshwhinney snorted. "Please fraulien, calm yourself! He vill be here! Gerrard comes highly recommended und I vill personally vouch for his skill! He is dee perfect choice to design dis new office building to house dee Equestria Games offices!" "Well, this Gerrard will have to convince ME he is up to this task. After all, I have been put in charge of this project, and I intend to see that this new office building comes in under budget and on time! Now where is he? Is he taking a taxi to get here?" "I don't tink he vill be travel day vay, he vill fly in!" "OH? He's NOT a unicorn? He's a Pegasus?" "Nein, not exactly, he is more of a.." "Oh nevermind Professor. I'm sure I will know him when I see him, WHENEVER he decides to show up for our meeting!" the mare neighed, looking down at her legwatch.
