1. Regal could not believe she had overslept! She rushed down the street to her small shop hurriedly, hoping nopony would be awaiting her at the door. "Half an hour!" She shouted at herself aloud without meaning to. How could she do this, she never overslept! It was all the birds fault she decided, chirping wonderfully outside her window and lulling her back to sleep. She would remind herself later to shoo them away. She did not have time for over sleeping, she was a working mare and had to prove herself if she ever wanted to be worthy of being a royal armorer. At least some luck held out as nopony was standing outside her doors waiting for her! She ran up to the small shops front entrance and fumbled for her keys. The building was a decent size with plain brick walls, the two windows on the front set in purple sills. between the windows sat a metal door with a big lock. The back half of the building was sealed off but seemed as if it could be opened up on the lower half to allow access. Regal finally got her keys in hoof and unlocked the door. She left it hanging open welcomingly as she turned the sign in the window around and began to open up the smithy. Curtains opened, candles were lit in dark corners, and the back entrance was opened with a bit of magical effort from the unicorn. She was ready for business and in record time! She could not help but feel proud of herself as she looked around her forge. She had come far since her days as an apprentice and someday she may just find her dreams in reach. That day was not today though and thee was work to be done! She lit up the forge and started cleaning her tools, she had a few commissioned pieces to finish up but they would be done quickly enough. She was ready and waiting for more to come, her eyes wandering to the door in case she missed an entering customer and the bells that would jingle if the door moved.
2. One day, Honeydew received an additional letter among her usual mail. Normally, this was an interesting development that warranted her attention, but she had noticed, off-hoof, that it was from her parents. She had deadlines, travel arrangements, and a few interesting rumors in Manehattan to investigate. Reading and responding to a letter from her parents could wait. A few days later, Honeydew returned to her apartment home in Manehattan to discover a distressed mailpony buried underneath a mountain of letters. They were all for her, and they were all from her parents. Unable to ignore a mountain of letters, Honeydew opened one. It read as follows: Dearest Honeydew, It's been one and a half months since you've written us. We're also still disappointed that you spent Hearth's Warming at our beloved farm searching for abominable snowponies. You could've at least invited your uncle to look with you. But that's neither here nor there. The point is we miss you so very, very much. We worry about you being in such a horribly big city all by yourself all the time. Won't you please visit? We want to know all about how you're doing and if you've met any special somepony yet. Surely, it wouldn't hurt to take a little time out of your busy city life to visit the ponies that raised you, cared for you, and nurtured you? Love always, Mommy and Daddy. P.S. Your uncle Cantaloupe says hi. The rest of the letters by her parents read exactly the same. Honeydew suspected something was up immediately. Usually, when her parents just wanted her to visit, they demanded it, down to specifying a date and time. This... this was a request and a guilt trip. That meant her parents didn't just want her to visit. They wanted something. Perhaps they were trying to hook her up with another random stallion they had only just met? It was anypony's guess. The other possibility was that her parents had been replaced by Changelings. This possibility was immediately dismissed upon closely inspecting the stationery and writing. So, there was only one way to find out what her parents wanted. She had to visit. She kept telling herself it was because she was curious and not because she actually felt guilty about anything. Oh no. She didn't feel guilty. At all. Really. When she arrived at the farm in the "Middle of Nowhere, Equestria," she was greeted with quick pecks on both sides of her cheeks, a small explanation, instructions for running her family's melon farm, and packed bags. And then, dust. Honeydew had only been able to utter a loud, indignant, "I don't think so!" before her parents had taken off. Of course, Honeydew could've just done the same thing and leave the farm in her uncle's hooves. She liked and trusted her uncle plenty enough... He could run the farm, and everything would work out great. It didn't take long before her conscience (which was definitely not a guilty one, not at all, really truly) reminded her that her uncle couldn't look after a plastic plant without something disastrous happening to it, let alone an entire farm. But she didn't think SHE could run the farm, either. She hadn't worked on the farm since she was a filly, and it was all such boring, boring work. As much as she hated to admit it, she needed help. Every city and town in the Strand and the neighboring areas would soon find itself flooded in "HELP WANTED" notices that offered bits and board as a reward. Advertisements for unheard-of and non-existent melon products popped up everywhere. Propaganda posters touting the benefits of melons, melon farming, "UNCLE CANTALOUPE WANTS YOU TO FIGHT FOR YOUR MELON RIGHTS" left no building uncovered. The Daily Turnip, unaware that one of its journalists was behind all of this, wrote an article about a potential invasion from sentient melon monsters. And Honeydew waited and hoped and tried to remember what basic farming and melon-raising techniques were.
3. Three Lakes CaféThe Three Lakes Café is located on the northeastern corner of Tatterstall Drive and Stampford Street in Trottingham, and it has been a vibrant part of the town's community for more than ten years. The friendly staff and excellent service coupled with a warm and relaxing environment make it a great place to spend an afternoon visiting with friends or getting to know new people within the community. The menu is also expansive; whether you're looking to enjoy a traditional cup of Earl Grey tea with scones at a relaxing pace, or a double-shot of espresso to-go to kick-start your busy morning, we have something for everypony! Really super simple floor plan New and improved floor plan thanks to the ever-awesome DamianMane: Menu
4. It was time now for a new change, Cashmere loved making his saddlebags, it was a passion that he truly loved! But as he grew mentally as well as talently he was really starting to understand what his special talent meant, it wasn't just sewing and making BAGS, rather he had a talent for making things custom and special for a individual pony! Something as special and unique as the pony themself! So now he was in Canterlot! On the look out for new fabrics and such to expand his horizons, he had made himself a few outfits for occasions but had never truly been confident to make anything for anypony else! And he certainly didn't wish to compete with Miss Rarity and her boutique! So this was mostly a getting his hooves wet sort of of deal.. Some inspirational pony or fabric to get the creative juices flowing! Someone so unique that their very presence beckoned the stallion to make them an outfit just for them! Plus in Canterlot he was a nopony so nopony back home would laugh at him if his outfits weren't that good..
5. As the sun rose over the brim of the trees of Whitetail Woods, a lone figure could be seen entering the dense trees. He walked for a good ten minutes until he came to a certain tree. His lifted his front hooves onto the trees, studying the feel of the bark and the build of the tree, emerald green eyes studying the branches and the knots. Considering the tree once more, he nodded to himself before turning and lining himself up. Lifting his back legs, the pony gave a firm kick out with hind-legs. The whole tree creaked as the trunk was forced upwards by the power of the kick out with hind-legs, it's roots snapping from the strain as the tree fell to the ground. *THUMP* Oak Splitter smiled to himself as he looked at his latest prize, adjusting the blue bandanna round his neck, before looking around at the other trees nearby. Nodding once more he got to work. 30 minutes later... Oak Splitter exited the woods, hauling his bundle behind him, tied around his waist was a long length of rope which was in turn tied around a bundle of five trees. As Oak Splitter pulled he was thankful that he had decided to build his new house so close to the entrance to the forest. It was then that he saw he was close. A nice simple log cabin, looking as nice as the day it had been finished. Next to that was a larger building made with the more modern materials that you would find in Baltimare, the city he was close to. above the door hung the sign. WhiteTail Woodworks: Quality Lumber and Hoof-crafted Furniture. This was his workshop, where he made his living. Just over to the left he saw the wood mill, still standing there like it had the first day his father had brought him here when he still lived in the city, the water wheel turning leisurely in the flow of the Quickrun River as it flowed into Baltimare before entering the SeaSaddle Bay. Grunting, Oak Splitter dragged the trees around to the back of the workshop, where he opened a large garage door, revealing a storage area for other felled trees. There were a few other trees laying in the room, and tools were lined along the wall, with a small bin for storingcut off branches and roots The air was dry so as to prevent rot, and the floor covered in saw dust which Oak Splitter left hoof prints in as he dragged the logs inside. Untying them from the rope and himself, He decided to keep the door open, and work in natural light, and the crossed into his workshop. The large room was in fact part workshop, part showroom. Along the far left wall many different tools were hung up including saws, hammers, chisels and wood shavers. There were also a few electric tools, including a power drill, a lathe and table saw. over the rest of the showroom were examples of the many different wood pieces that Oak Splitter had made and was ready to sell. Tables, chairs, wardrobes and dressers were what mainly took up the showroom. There were also several wood carvings of animals and and scenes, including a large carving of a pony in full guard armor that Oak had been inspired to carve after a trip to Canterlot. Nearer to the fron of the store stood a counter with a large book lying on it. This was Oak Splitter's ledger that he used to document all sales and orders for new items. Trotting forward, Oak Splitter flipped the sign on the front of the door from 'Closed' to 'Open', before returning to the counter and looking over his ledger. Seeing that his orders for the week had been fulfilled, Oak decided that he would begin work on a new project while waiting for customers. He needn't worry about being so far out of town; being the one of the few Carpenters ponies in Equestria, as well as coming from a long line of carpenters, Oak Splitter had recievd orders from many different places in the three years he had run his business. It also helped that his sister, Poppy Seed, was often able to drum up local customers thanks to her job in the marketplace. Walking over to his workbench, Oak Splitter brought out a sketchbook and an assortment of pencils, before sitting in his a chair he had carved for himself. He looked at the blank paper, waiting for inspiration to strike him.
6. (Post in the OOC if you'd like to join, one or two other players are welcome!) Ugh....what happened....where am I...? That was the first thing the blond, blue eyed fifteen year old girl thought as she sat up, rubbing her head. What DID happen, anyway? Kate couldn't remember whatsoever, well, except she was being chased by a bunch of idiot bullies and...somehow passed out after being chased in the forest? Ugh, that didn't make any sense, she normally NEVER did that! Well, in either case, she was...here. Was it the woods back home? She...wasn't sure. Azure eyes flicked around and the girl, dressed in black shorts and grey tank-top, sneakers to go along with it, wasn't...exactly sure. For one, this part of the forest looked different to any part she'd ever been in. For another everything sort of looked...brighter, here. Even in the wooded area, everything definitely looked more chromatic than back home. Was it a "special" kind of area? No that couldn't be it; she'd explored every nook and cranny of the one back home! Something told the young girl she wasn't in "Kanas" anymore, as that old saying went. "Alright...I'm sure wherever I am...someone will show up and tell me so I can at least try and get home. I hope it's in walking distance." Kate mumbled quietly, tucking her hand in her shorts pocket and making her way across the grass, stepping over rocks. Though, unbeknownst to her, she'd landed in the very place that had certain four legged hoofed creatures she was absolutely terrified of. Kate was Equinophobic, a fact she never brought up and told nobody except her friends, and, well, her family knew. It was why there were no horses on her farm, and why she never went over to her aunt and uncle's because of the vast amount she knew they had. It had started with a certain incident, back when she was about 5 or 6. She'd gone outside to go and feed the horses despite her parents telling her otherwise. She'd had to see them! She went into the stalls and everything had gone well, till something startled the horses and they panicked, jumping around, kicking and rearing up and making those terrifying whinnying noises. One even looked to be lunging at her, and that was it for Kate. And as silly as it might've sounded, she'd honestly never forgotten it and fears of being bucked off and trampled turned into what she had now. But, to the matter at hand! She had to get out of here! Panic couldn't set it, no, she just would not let it, and so, the girl began to tentatively make her way out of the forest, glancing around. She'd finally gotten out of the forest completely but stopped and looked around. She didn't recognize any of this at all! Okay yeah, NOW she was getting scared, and, she began to cross over across the grass, spotting a nearby town and traversing close to a certain cottage. "H-hello? Anyone out here?" She'd call out, hoping someone, anyone would answer. She just wanted to get back home..
7. The ballroom was abuzz with activity. With hors d’oeuvres and drink in hoof, ponies made their way to their tables, eagerly chatting about the upcoming events on the program. A roast? The voices asked. A comedy show? At the Army Ball? Weren’t the guardsponies merely humorless accessories to the crown? As if to answer their collective questions, a drumroll started up. Colonel Ironwing stepped onto the stage to the fanfare of trumpets, lifting his beret in greeting to the gathered crowd as he approached the microphone. Grabbing the implement in his hooves, he began to speak. “Fillies and gentlecolts of the Royal Equestrian Army! Friends, family, and avid supporters! I welcome you all to the First Annual Army Ball! We gather here today to honor those who serve, who have served, and who will serve. The Army life isn’t an easy one, but it’s one that every guardspony relishes.” The retired colonel took a moment to adjust his glasses before continuing. “I myself was a wide-eyed cadet once, making my way through OCS, picking up a degree somewhere in there, and eventually landing a commission in the service of Her Majesty. Although I suppose now it would be Her MajestIES.” A smattering of chuckles rose from the audience as the colonel went on. “I’m seeing a lot of new faces here tonight. Either the optometrist messed up my prescription again or I’m going as senile as my son says I am!” “But enough about me!” he said with a flourish. “No matter how old we get or how many guard rotations we get stuck in, I always knew the REA boys and girls to be able to throw a great party. And what a party this is! What better way is there to celebrate those who work so tirelessly for us, especially the one in charge of our own Canterlot garrison?” “You might know him as the face of the REA, the Shield, or Captain Equestria, depending on who you talk to, but there’s no question about his dedication to service and good leadership. Fillies and gentlecolts, tonight we honor a soldier, officer, gentlecolt, scholar, and model Equestrian, our very own SHINING ARMOR!” The spotlight was nothing new to Shining Armor. After the high profile wedding and the craziness of the Crystal Empire, he was something of a local celebrity. Fame wasn’t his favorite part of the job, but he could certainly handle it so long as he had Cadence by his side. When the retired colonel had approached him about the roast, he was enthusiastic. After all, who wouldn’t want to get in on some good fun and comedy? The captain stood from his guest table and took a bow for his audience before quietly sitting back down. “So now let’s bring up the first of many roasters to pat you on the back... or kick you in the flank if they so choose! Our first roaster tonight is here with her charm, her wit, and her husband’s reins in hoof, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza!”
8. It was a very special day! It was the day of love, Hearts and Hooves Day to be precise! And Zecora intended to do it by giving Love away today free of charge, because to her, giving love was showing appreciation and respect for the people around you. She had set up a little boot that said "Free Kisses" On the front in golden letters, the banner itself was a rich royal blue, beneath that it said 'Free gift with every kiss" Beside the Zebra in a pile were tons and tons of small boxes, all wrapped in gorgeous red and gold paper! They were about the size of your hoof and you couldn't see what was in them, for such a special occasion Zecora had dressed up slightly, her mane was combed neatly and was less stiff, falling to one side in gentle waves, she wore just a touch of golden eye shadow, and all her jewelry had been freshly polished so it gleamed gloriously in the sun. She smiled and certainly hoped she'd get to give a good bit of love today, and hoped the citizens of Ponyville liked their gifts.

10. The mare in the mirror was unremarkable. A few strands of blue hair sprung out the back of a kerchief tied around her head. Her tail was a common, uniform shade of purple, which was still dripping purple on the hotel carpet. There was no eyeshadow, mascara, or hoof polish in sight. She wore no outfit but the kerchief, and she looked… Not terribly sensational. Sapphire Shores smiled, pleased with the look. This would do. Grabbing her bag, she slipped out of her room. She was giddy. Nopony in the lobby cast a second glance at her. Anonymous. Good. She strode out into the street. The crowd of ponies went about their business. Each pony had their own destination, their own dreams and talents -- their own story. Sapphire Shores wanted to know them all. They might make a good song, after all. Plus, she was bored. She trotted a few blocks away from her hotel. Turning around, she checked on her tail, which was still a bit wet and dripping dye. She shrugged. Patience was not a burden she was saddled with. She set down her bag, which was filled with a few bits. One stallion rolled his eyes at her; busking was laughably commonplace in the city. She dipped her nose into the bits, pulling one out with her mouth and tossing it up in the air. It landed on her nose. She took a deep breath, and started to sing a robust, off-kilter tune. “Tell me a tale for a penny! One that I cannot hear anywhere else, not anywhere else! Spin me a yarn for a bit, would it not be a shame for you to deny yourseeeelves a cent?” Reverse busking. Had Manehattan ever seen its like? Sapphire didn’t know, but she was proud of herself for the idea. She hummed the tune as she waited for her first taker. ((yes I'm ripping off Devil's Carnival; i like that song))
11. ((Hi! If you want to join, feel free. This is the first part of several. Only OCs, no show characters without my permission! Also, no Mary-Sues, and Alicorns need to be confirmed by yours truly. Keep it PG-13, please, refrain from sex. One last thing, almost anything goes (Except things already mentioned)! This story can go in many directions, and is tailored to each player's style! Enjoy!)) A grey alicorn pony awakens in a dark forest. He only remembers one thing: darkness. He gets up. "Where am I?" he asks himself. He walks through the forest and discovers a small town. He sees a sign. It says Ponyville.
12. Ok so I had this idea that is really simple haha I was wanting to do a RP where your OC and other players OCs and mine meet up and get to know each other. But I don't know about the location yet. I was thinking of just doing Ponyville because it is really simple lol Also if any players wanted to they could RP any of the mane 6. For this RP I want just as many people to RP. I just want it to be our characters meet up somewhere unexpectedly and start talking and boom friendship and friendship equals ADVENTURE. Will you and another pony find romance? It is near Hearts and Hooves Day but that is a side part. Main thing is for all the RPers just to have fun! This is an interest check and gauge lol Please leave comments or questions haha Remember you can play: Any of the mane 6(for now, I will keep up with the ones taken. I will do a first come first serve with them.) Any OCs (I welcome your creativity everyone on this site makes awesome OCs!) Any other character really. Just ask me about it first lol (I don't know about like King Sombra...since he only had like 6 lines. But...he could be evil.....maybe later? ) Let me know if anyone would like to do this! Like I said, I want and need ideas Light Harmony My OC
13. It was a bright and sunny day in the town of Ponyville, as well as a joyful one. Today was Hearts and Hooves day, and all through town couples walked here and there. Other ponies gave cards or gifts to that special somepony, and others worked up the courage to tell that special pony know they care. It's a day of love and joy, and to top it all was the big party and dance later tonight at the town hall. Still not all love blossoms, will yours? *For more info see the general discussion http://www.canterlot.com/topic/13738-hearts-and-hooves-party/ ------------------------------------------------------ Razor sat on a cloud, looking down at the ponies as they passed. He watched the smiling faces of couples about and turned to lay on his back and gaze up at the sky. 'I had to pick the worse possible day to come into this town.' He thought, pushing the cloud forward with a flap of his wing. Hearts and Hooves day. A pony holiday of love and more love. Frankly Razor didn't see why it was all that great, it was just another day like any other. What made this day magical? "Yeah a magic day where you find that special somegriffon. Sounds like a childs story tale to me." He said to himself as he floated over the buildings on his cloud.
14. Ten different participants, forced to live together in a secret house. Competing for one prize. But what is it? Perhaps money? Freedom? Or something far greater then that. Whatever it is one thing is certain, these participants are going to have to learn to live together or go crazy in the process. This. Is. The Manor.

She stumbled back a bit at what she saw next, though. It was a very healthy and huge sakura tree that looked like it had a door on it make out of years of growing so much. She slowly stepped inside and looked around, watching the sun set. Once the sun set, she yawned and went to sleep inside the large tree but the next day she woke up, curled up in a ball and letting the warm sun hit her pure white coat, but she heard the familiar pitter patter of hooves as she raised her head slowly and sleepily, her hair in her face.~ "H-Hello...?"
16. It was another brand new day, and the sun was high, and all the birdys sung while the hay bacon fried merrily in it's skillet, Ginger was humming a merry tune to herself as she finished making her breakfast, which was quickly downed in one gulp. After eating she brushed her mane and slapped her hat on, brushed her teeth, and smiled her best smile at the mirror "Yep, yep yep, t'day is gonna be a good day for sure as shootin!" She fluttered her wings and headed down to the cafe part of her shop, perched on a big fluffy cloud near the weather factory! She hummed as the coffee pots started to perk, and she put in some fresh baked goods in the display case, whistling as the windows got open and all the resturant sparkling once she gave it a good cleaning! Yes siree Robert! It was a great day to be alive! Once the first coffee pot of lite brew coffee was finished she poured herself a cup, added just a little cream and sugar, and took a sip, making her teeth brushing..er null and void... she let out a content breath once she had finished her sip, perfect ! Just how she liked it...one thing left to do now! She flew over to the window and flipped the closed sign to open before hunkering down behind the counter and took another content sip of her coffee.
17. It was yet another fine day in the city of Canterlot. The birds were chirping, the sun was shining, and the streets were bustling with life as ponies went about their daily business. ~How dull~ High above them all a griffon flew lazily between the towering spires of the city, his wings flapping only from time to time as he used thermals and other rising air currents to keep himself aloft. Calmly Gaston peered at the masses below him seeming like some sort of bird of prey ready to pounce upon an unsuspecting citizen. IN reality however the griffons mind was elsewhere, its nerves working overtime as its owner tried to think about events that had recently transpired at his home. ~That foolish child! Who is she to intrude upon what is so obviously mine!~ Gaston thought in irritation not considering that the 'child' in question was the same age as him. Ever since his sister had moved in with Gaston and his father things had gone steadily downhill for the griffon. Where the position of ambassador to Equestria had once been a guaranteed thing now his father was beginning to doubt in his sons abilities to succeed him. ~And all because that bird brained sister of mine had the guts to help him out! The nerve!~ Gaston growled. He had reviewed his fathers proposals earlier and they had seemed perfectly fine. The demands upon equestria had been clear and blunt, in other words the norm for what the griffon kingdoms demanded in their trade agreements with Equestria. ~The griffon way! Only cowards hide behind fancy words and sentences... Pah! Equestria must fear us! How could they do that if we try to use trickery and... And.... stuff~ pouting the griffon began to descend lower down where the air traffic was a little busier with pegasi coming and going as they delivered messages or other business. ~Ill show them... But how...~ As his mind worked overtime trying to figure this out the griffon landed suddenly in front of the Aquellian embassy, scattering a small group of ponies who had been shocked by his appearance. Gaston payed them no heed though. For now all he cared about was finding something to do that would upstage his sister. His father was out of Canterlot for the time being meaning his office was empty... Surely there was something in there he could help make better! With this new goal set the griffon charged forward, only to run smack dab into something and fall to the ground. "Who dares!?!"
18. Being an Earth pony sucked. Not only that, being small sucked! Dodger was growing into quite the handsome young colt—not only that, but he was a Unicorn. Being a thief came easily and naturally to him. He hardly had to try. There was Black Jack, too—he had a number of talents. Black Jack could draw, beautiful sketches that the ponies in Fillydelphia admired. Jack could sell those for bits, and make an honest living. Not to mention, Black Jack could leave Fillydelphia entirely, see the world, go where he wanted... and he didn't have to live on a vegetarian diet like ponies did. He could leave, hunt, and come back—he didn't even need money. Terrence was an Earth pony as well, but he was special. He didn't have to work hard like the rest of them did. He just had to sit and look pitiful, what a lousy cheat. Then there was Pippin. Dodger doted on him, for one thing. And another was that he was a Pegasus, able to fly away and to travel much like Black Jack could. It just wasn't fair! Scout had no special talent, no wings or horn, no missing limb to make her plight seem terrible and unfair. Scout was just an Earth pony. A boring, not special Earth pony. There was nothing special about Earth ponies—no special talents, no skills. Scout was going to live her life as a second-rate thief forever. And she knew that, all too well. Scout's stomach rumbled... it was past dinner time, and she'd had no luck in pilfering a meal yet today. It was the middle of the week, a time when ponies went to work or school, and then home after that, rarely stopping to shop. On the weekends, the streets were filled with ponies bustling everywhere, but today had been rather slow. The sun was beginning to set, and Scout had resigned herself to going to bed hungry, when the chance presented itself. Somepony was bringing in his produce for the night. During the day, he'd be moving about the store and continually checking outside, to be sure that nopony was taking anything. But, after a hard day's work, one could get a little careless. She watched as the Unicorn carried each crate of vegetables or fruit inside, one at a time, leaving the rest unattended while his back was turned. There were very few ponies out now, and so the grocery store owner hadn't noticed the little filly watching him. Scout inched closer, careful not to draw attention to herself. And then, as he went inside again, she sprung forward, her heart pounding as she reached the crates. She grabbed a few carrots in her mouth, stuffing them into the book bag she always carried with her. A container of strawberries, a couple apples, and a bag of grapes. Scout had taken far too much time, she knew, and scurried around a corner into an alley way as the owner was walking out. She tried to control her breathing, so she wouldn't be discovered. But she heard a crate scrape against the ground, before there was silence again. Turning, she realized that he'd gone back inside—he'd noticed nothing amiss. She breathed a sigh, congratulating herself on her 'catch'. Not too bad, considering her failure of earlier. Scout hurried off, somewhere else where she wouldn't look so suspicious. She found a nice spot in the park, sitting down on a bench and setting her pack next to her while she began to tuck into one of the carrots.
19. "Ah sure hope everypony's impressed with mah new costume this year." Applejack stuffed her scare crow costume full of extra hay. Sure, it was the same scarecrow she had worn for the last six years in a row. But she felt she worn it better than anypony else. And besides, maybe there was a bit of superstition set in Applejack's mind. No scary crows were gonna get her mane in a tangle.Apples. The main ingredient for Applejack's annual apple bob setup. Of course, practically anything Applejack produced had apples at it's core. And a core was at the center of every apple. It always came full circle. Crispy. Crunchy. Fresh. Juicy. Apples. And water. Three tubs of water. Applejack had scooted out three tubs of water, and put about a half dozen apples on top for them to float. It was apple bobbing time. And at the town center where the annual Nightmare Night festivities were held, Applejack was in charge of this section of the celebration. It included apple bobbing, spider tossing, and pumpkin launching. Anypony of any age would have fun. And on top of that, Applejack had several treats as prizes, and were also available for sale as well. "Anypony wanna trah bobbing for an apple?"
20. Piper the Dragon was spending a lazy day near the Barrelfloat River, just outside the city of Hoofington. She was a rather good swimmer, and the ocean offered a great opportunity to test how long she could hold her breath and how deep she could dive. As a young Dragon, she was about the size of the Princess Celestia, though having never met the monarch, she wouldn't be aware of that. Her sleek black body slid smoothly into the water, and she quickly disappeared under the waves before reappearing minutes later. If nopony had seen her go in, they would have no idea she was lurking under the water until her head broke the surface. The cool water was soothing to her scaly skin. It was nice to relax and practice her swimming skills. There was nothing really better for her to do, anyway. She had even begun to collect a pile of fish and set them on top of a large rock, to eat when she was finished exercising and had worked up an appetite. Though she wouldn't really call it exercise herself, seeing as it was pretty fun and she normally had plenty of energy to spare.
21. It was a day without worries for Spitfire the Wonderbolt. She decided to fly down from Cloudsdale to Garden Gait on her day off. She planned to give her wings a rest, perhaps go shopping or stop for lunch. Whatever it was, she would be walking, relaxing her wings and giving her hooves an overdue exercise. She lived in the clouds, she trained in the clouds, and all too often her hooves went weeks without touching solid earth. The cool stone streets felt nice against her hooves, creating a light clip-clop as she walked. She glanced at the different shops, looking for something to catch her interest. The walk was nice, no doubt, but she hadn't been out and about for a few weeks now, and there were some payday wages burning a hole in her saddlebags. That was when Spitfire spotted a coffee shop. Yes, that would be just the thing to get her up and going this afternoon. Of course it was afternoon—Spitfire had gone to bed earlier than usual the previous night, but had still taken the opportunity to sleep in. No sense wasting a day off in getting up early. Spitfire opened the door, and a little bell above it chimed to announce the arrival of a customer. The fire maned Pegasus took in the menu before ordering her drink—a chocolate latte. She sat down to enjoy her coffee, breathing in its scent and then letting out a breath, allowing herself to be calmed before she took a sip of the beverage. Today was starting out good.
22. The cello had been silenced for some time, perhaps a half hour or so, as Octavia finally made her way out of the restaurant's dressing room. There wasn't much to undress in all honesty but there was a process to undergo and it allowed her time to unwind from another uneventful performance at this eatery. They called themselves the Gallaway Restaurant but it was little more than a cafe with ambition and some resources, the food unspectacular and without that flair that would mark them as a place worthy of notice in Canterlot's bustling eatery scene. But a musician for hire didn't question the legitimacy of a gig when the schedule was open. She had been hired to replace the previous musician who had skipped out when the tip jar had been empty- very few ponies had come in. That didn't matter to Octavia as the base contract was better than the zero bits she was going to make on those days otherwise, and her morale would have been unaffected by poor attendance. The music she produced would be both her offering to those that came around as well as a shield of contentment that she could easily hide behind. She was lost in a musical paradise, in notes and the plucking of strings. The first two nights had come and gone simply enough, a few bits in the tip jar and a nice sandwich to see her off for the night. This night had gone just as easily, with a few bits in the tip jar and the hectic atmosphere and discordant humming of the cafe being soothed for the rest of the shift. That was its own reward, Octavia figured, not any paltry sum of money. Thinking that perhaps she had effected some actual change to an establishment such as this, even if only for a short while, was a victory all its own. That and free drinks! Juice was a favorite, but post performance she needed something a bit more. "One applejack and a romaine sandwich, Miss Octavia," The full-time bartender and part-time waiter offered her the same as the previous night and Octavia smiled warmly at the fellow. Eager to please, excited and a bit jangled, a little bit pure of intent if unsure of himself, this was a stallion for whom Octavia believed her music held little hope of calming down. At least he was polite. "Thank you, Bumbles," She replied simply, taking her seat at a table and looking down at her sandwich and drink. Ah, a good time to be sure.
23. The train was Octavia's most detested form of transportation. If the bits allowed, she would take anything over it. Even a carriage offered more security from it's rude and unkind clacking of track. It made it hard to think of anything but that incessant sound that threatened to bore into her head and drive the musician mad. Yet, for these cross country trips, they were all she could afford. Airships were prohibitively expensive and unless you had a private carriage, so was that route. She tried to take solace in the fact that she could afford a room with some comforts- namely, a soft personal storage for her cello- and the privacy that welcomed her shockingly at first. The room could normally house four ponies, two on each side of the room in a bunk bed, everypony with storage space and a shared bathroom. But nothing could stop that noise as the train rolled over the tracks. It stopped any of her higher thought processes from finding success and reduced her to going over card tricks. Finding a rhythm even in the simple flipping and stacking of cards was comforting. That occupied her for several hours, but eventually even her mind could no longer find enjoyment in that. Cursing her lack of a playing partner as she tossed her pack of cards into storage, Octavia rolled up onto the bed and laid down. It wasn't anything spectacular, but she threatened to close her eyes and allow the repetition of the train tracks to beat her into submission. The ride from Manehattan to Stalliongrad couldn't be that rough, right? The thought chilled her, which was a fortunate turn of events as she was going to be chilled anyway by Stalliongrad's notorious weather. Orchestras demanded sacrifice, she figured. She just hoped that sacrifice didn't have anything to do with her sense of hearing.
24. Tonight was the big evening. In less than four hours Ice would be walking down the isle to be wed to the stallion of her dreams. She only hoped that all of the guests that she had invited showed up. She had it scheduled at Ponyville Park. It was one of her favorite places in Ponyville so it only made sense for the wedding to be held there, not to mention the fact that it was the only way to get everypony from Ponyville to fit if they did choose to come. After all, she had invited all of Ponyville, and some friends from outside, and the princesses. While she was doubtful that the princesses would show up, seeing as they were usually very busy, she figured it would be a good sediment to invite them anyway, especially Princess Luna. She had been receiving more recognition yes, but still she felt that it was always a good thing to show her that she was very much accepted and loved in Equestria. Right now the only thing that she could do to keep her mind from going into all of the what ifs was just keep waling around in her store, which, in all honesty was hurting more than it was helping. The more that she walked around the more nervous she got. The butterflies that were in her stomach right now felt like Lunar moths trying to fly up her throat and escape from her. She finally decided to attempt to chill down with a snow cone, hoping that it would help take her mind off of everything so that she would keep over thinking things. Then her mind came across one stunning thought. What if her parents actually showed up to this? She never sent them an invitation, so they shouldn't even know about it, but then again if they truly missed her, they surely would have gone to Princess Celestia to try to have her help find me. After all, a missing foal isn't anything to turn a nose at. And if they had, it would make sense that the Princess would tell them about the wedding and to attend to see if it was the correct pony or not. What would she do if her parents did show up? What would everypony else think of her? She finally folded her hooves with a sigh. "Why do weddings have to be so stressful?" she asked herself sarcastically before her head slammed down onto a table.
25. Big, loud, crowded... Those three words pretty much summed up Snowdrifts first thoughts as he wandered the streets of Canterlot. He had gone ahead and separated himself from Pinoak and Symphony to explore. Upon first seeing the city from afar the caribou had been astounded. The concept of buildings was not something completely foreign to him but to see so many buildings, tall ones built on the side of a mountain, was simply breathtaking. How did it all work? Was it magic that made this possible? Or did some intelligent mind design these structures. In the end Snowdrift knew that any answers he got in regards to Canterlot would only create more questions. Not that it would stop him... Upin entering the city Snowdrift was stuck by just how... Organized everything was. The straight roads, planned buildings, and that everything was clean... All in all it was rather unnerving. Snowdrift was used to the wild chaos created by nature, Canterlot appeared to be completely tame. "Since when did they allow beasts in here?" Snowdrifts ears swiveled to the source of the sound but he made no move to look at the unicorns that had spoken. This was another thing that disturbed him about Canterlot, many of the ponies here seemed to hold themselves as superior to others, why though... Snowdrift could not tell. Perhaps it was money? Or some unknown social class structure he was not aware of. In his time with Pinoak and Symphony the caribou had come to believe all ponies were equal despite their physical difference and lived in harmony. But hearing the citizens of this city made Snowdrift wonder if that was true. It sounded as if these unicorns wished to rule over all. Perhaps they already did and the two unicorns Snowdrift had traveled with either lied or were simply misled.
