  1. Spring Rain It was a day off from work, and Spring was eager to spend it outside. It felt great to feel the sun warm her body and see the growth of plants around her. It was getting close to harvest time. Everywhere that she could see there were fresh herbs to be picked, trees heavy with fruit, and more vegetables than one could shake a stick at. Someone had even rather humorously grabbed a giant pumpkin, hollowed it out, and filled it with apples. The pony left the town and trotted down past the farms occasionally pausing to fully relish in how great the weather was. It was enough to really put an extra bounce in her trot. It was a good time, if also very dangerous, to see what the Everfree Forest might have to offer. She would have to be careful not to go too far of course. She didn't want to get into trouble by disturbing the dangerous wild creatures that lived there.
  2. Spring Rain hummed softly to herself as she trotted through the shop checking in on the growing plants. Most of them were doing well. There were a couple in the back that looked like they needed a bit more sun. Or perhaps they simply weren't doing as well in the heat? She carefully checked over their neighbors. "<b>Hm, most of you seem to be doing well,</b>" she mused. It seemed that it was just those two in particular who weren't doing so well. Perhaps a rotation would help? Spring lifted the pots up and shifted them around until the two plants in need were set near the front of the shelf so she could tend them better. Hopefully it would only take a day or two for them to fully perk up again. It was so much better to take care of a plant before it got bad. She always felt terrible when she saw a plant struggling. Yes some of them could be fussy, but others were so tenacious, and it was a shame when they drooped. Satisfied that they were looked after for now Spring Rain started gently humming as she sat down and gazed lovingly at her plants. It was a silly little habit, maybe, but the plants enjoyed it and so did she. It made everything feel so much better in the shop to have a soft tune in the air.
  3. Spearmint had always believed that the act of moving from one home to another was a somewhat time consuming, emotionally challenging event that often required things like moving vans, tear filled good byes and a nostalgic sense of loss even as one moved forward into a new future. Now that he was doing it for himself... he was somewhat disappointed by the fact that the stories he had heard and believed didn't have a whole lot of truth to them for him. Leaving Green Meadows behind had been a rather quick and easy affair; He only had the one bag of stuff with him and the only pony who might have cared that he was leaving was his mother who at the time was currently being transported to a cell to await trial for crimes against the residents of Green Meadows. While it had taken some time to get to Ponyville proper (and thus the School of Friendship that was there), the young colt quickly found himself embracing the vast difference to his former home like a duckling being introduced to water for the first time. Everything was so colorful and full of life here. There were actual plants and the greenery was almost overwhelming compared to the near barren, dusty planes around Green Meadows. The school itself was... well, it did kind of look a bit gaudy and the fact that it seemed to be covered by Princess Twilight's cutie mark seemed a bit egotistical to him but those were minor complaints that didn't bare being brought up. It was however somewhat bigger then he was used to, to the point where finding the dorm room that he was going to be staying at was actually proving to be something of a challenge. He even had a map of the school giving him directions and he was pretty sure he had gotten turned around a hallway or two back. The student lodging area just had a 'it all looks the same' vibe to it. Taking a seat in order to have a more in depth look at the map held in his magic, he started muttering to himself as he traced his hoof along the path he believed he had followed in order to try and work out where he was. "Okay, so I passed that janitors closest... I know I passed this mural here... where did I get turned around?"
  4. (Read thoroughly to insert yourself organically.) In the deepest part of the Everfree Forest, centered in a glade with fresh flowers and ferns, the sun shines, cresting atop the encroaching canopy of the gathering limbs and leaves overhead, and there sat a lone silhouette. The draping and flowing cloak on the form shifted as the figure rose, a light breeze, peeling back the hood, revealing the starkly colored mane of a zebra mare, gilded rings drooping from her ears and falling around her long neck. A brightly colored flower in her teeth, she finds a place for her prize in her satchel, as an abrupt sound startles the nearby fauna, alerting her to activity nearby. A puzzled expression across her brow, she asks, to none in particular, but the breeze, itself, mayhap, "What kind of sounds might this be? I'd hope it won't be trouble for me." A determined look creeping over her features, she adds, bravely, "I'll investigate the disturbance, see it clear, I'll soon know if it is danger that looms near." She begins to trot with purpose toward the sound, hoping to find what might be in the shadowed wood. (It's a short start, but I'm sure we can move this into quite the story.)
  5. (Cloudfeather image coming soon...) Cloudfeather yawned as she punched her time card and removed her helmet from its hook. Why had she taken this shift again? Oh yeah. One of her friends was visiting family and asked her to cover for her. The things she did for her friends... She entered the large room where the water harvester operated and took in the sight. The huge, golden cylinder extended from the ceiling all the way through the floor. Pipes protruded at various angles and many levels, through which water was pumped to the labs for treatment before being turned into clouds. A large tank on the side prepared to receive any fish or other creatures that may be unfortunately sucked into the vortex so that they could be safely stored until they could be returned to their watery habitat. Cloudy wasn't as familiar with the harvester as she was with the actual cloud making machines, but she had fixed it enough times that she had a general idea of how it functioned. Plus, Cumulous had made her a checklist of operations for the day, so she was confident she would be able to manage. All that was left to do was wait for the signal to start the initiation sequence. Hovering by a window, she looked out over Mount Aris, one of the homes of the hippogriffs. They had requested some showers to help get their spring crops in gear, and management determined it was easier to just move the city to them than it was to ship boxes of storm clouds out that far. It didn't take long for the red lights around the room to come on, signaling that it was time to start the harvest. Cloudy sighed as she looked out over the seascape. The desalinators would be working extra hard today. She would probably have to fix at least one of them during her own shift. No bother. She yawned and put on her goggles, then took her position at the control panel, clipping the checklist to the dashboard so it would be easily accessible. "Alright, let's get you up and running." The machine gave a deep groan as it powered up, then began to whirr with ever switch she threw and button she pressed. Soon, the water was flowing from the sea, into the harvester, and through the pipes, which shook slightly as they received the flash flood. "Alright, now I just have to monitor the pressure and temperature levels! No big deal! Should be easy!" A few stray fish found their way into the collecting tank, looking disoriented but otherwise ok. They weren't Cloudy's concern, so she didn't pay them much attention. After the harvest, some other pegasi would deposit the tank back in the sea and they would continue with their lives. She watched the pressure meter hover in the green line for several minutes before the monotony of the task began to remind her how tired she was... It wasn't long until she rested her head on the dash and let her eyes slip shut...
  6. Having spent a good deal of the summer gathering many herbs that come in season around the Everfree Forest, Zecora knew it was coming to the time of year that she might have a hard time finding certain plants in the woods or even in town. She needed to head into town and find what they still had in stock, especially in the flower department. While they would very likely not have any of the unique plants she needed, they are likely to have herbs, spices and flowers that ponies used every day for beautification and aesthetics as well as seasoning and such. Going over the list she wrote, to be sure she had little reason to miss anything, she packed for the trip and started on her way out of her hollowed out tree hut toward Ponyville proper. On the path she chose in order to head into town, she could hear much of the wildlife in the forest. It's cheerful tones and bright atmosphere boosted her mood which seemed to sag a little as the days grew shorter. The leaves being mostly gone now, after the annual 'Running of the Leaves" had been well underway for a while, she could see much farther than before. This also meant she was even less likely to find some of the things she was hoping for. As she thought on this, some of the sounds from Ponyville could be heard in the distance as the afternoon sun crested to the left, over the naked treetops she was now soon to exit. A satchel over her back and a cloak between her and the winds bite, she found the road and began the last and least troublesome, hoof of her journey. Making it into town was a simple task at this point, she began to formulate which place to head to first. She needed certain flowers and plants she's likely to find amongst the market stalls and more tea, as she had recently run out. Lemons, limes, grapefruit, apples, carrots, natural honey etc all of which had a strong medicinal or flavorful purpose, but also that she hoped she could find strewn about the cart and stall doppled and lively streets. She settled with getting a snack first, as she rounded the corner to the promising café there, ordering food and sitting for a short meal before her shopping would continue. (Comment with a description of the types of things your stall or store sells and I can bring us into dialogue from there. I actually know a good deal about medicinal herbs, plants and flowers as well as the properties of common fruits and veggies in medicine and cooking. Feel free to ask questions and explore what I can bring to this character, in the form of knowledge and education, as well as adding my own flare to her iconic rhyming couplets.) (If you are unsure how to approach the scene, message me and I'll gladly help us start things off or help you figure out how to approach in your own way. Sorry I'm so long winded, I'm just excited to finally be able to RP as a canon character again after so long. I'm also eager to present my unique talents, but I don't want to over express or "showboat" (I need to look up the etymological significance of that term, cause I'm now curious), instead I'd rather have meaningful and fun interactions. I'll gladly work with you in any way you need to get started. Feel free to message me. Thank you for your contributions, understanding and help in this.)
  7. Shortly after Ridge had arrived in Griffonstone, it had been everything that he could have asked for. Dirt poor with no real local government to speak of or law enforcement to contend with. His hunch about the gems and riches buried in the earth that had been mined back when Griffonstone had been an actual power having been abandoned as its major trading partner had disappeared and the kingdom was crumbling rather then just running dry had proved to be correct and thus he was free to set up Prosperity Mining in order to harvest it. Even having an Equestrian military base being set up nearby had proven to be an opportunity rather then a hassle, because not only did it mean that he didn't have to invest as heavily as he might have needed to in order to secure the city and more importantly his mining operations, but some early arrangements he made with them had given him a degree of legitimacy that his company would have needed time and effort to earn. It also offered him an early trading partner to sell the gems his company was mining too, but he knew better then to count on the Equestrians to remain as such. Equestria was naturally rich with gems and crystals, with their current interest in purchasing from his company being little more then an attempt by them to help start up a company within Griffonstone in order to try and kick start the economy of the old griffon capital. That good will and more importantly, the bits backing it would only last so long. He would need to branch out into other markets in time, but it was still a damn good start for a dragon's horde and even better for a new company. However, getting his company into the ground to start digging had not been the only thing on Ridge's mind as of late. The same day that he had inspected the quality of the gems to be mined in the future, the 'Emperor' had arrived in Griffonstone. A delusional, homeless gutter bird who believed he was soaring and had designs to uplift the rest of Griffonstone with him. While it was laughable to consider him as anything close to a real threat, Ridge hadn't gotten this far by allowing himself to become complicate; He himself had taken advantage of others believing that he wasn't a big enough threat to be worth considering a few times and he likely would again. The cold, hard fact of the matter was that the 'Emperor' might have been a joke, but he was a joke that the other griffons were entertaining... and considering his own plans for the city, griffon sovereignty under a griffon ruler was a dangerous idea to have floating around. However, disposing of the problem was somewhat harder because the crazy buzzard was somewhat popular and well liked; Setting such people on fire tended to work against the one setting the fire and that would simply cause further problems down the line if not ruin his plans completely. Alternative solutions were required... and as much as it hurt him deeply whenever he looked at the bottom line of the bill, the holidays provided him with an opening to deepen his roots and further cement himself here while making the 'Emperor' out as the bitless bum he was. 'The First Annual Prosperity Mining Hearts Warming Party' as he had taken to calling it on the posters he had placed around Griffonstone was, by the standards of the dilapidated settlement, a lavish affair in which no expense had been spared, delicacies that a hard working family might have saved up enough for once or twice a year were common place on the tables, the drink was endless and came in bountiful forms and several live bands had been contracted to play throughout the night. Behind the scenes there was very much a budget for the party and by the standards of more developed Equestrian cities like Manehatten or Canterlot if he had tried to host an event with the same budget there, it would have either needed to be a cozy, private affair with a limited number of guests or risk being so bare thread that it would have been over rather quickly. The fact that Griffonstone had such a low population coupled with the low standards that its poverty had enforced on the population had gone a long way to making sure that this was going to be a smash hit. Climbing up onto the wooden stage that had been built for the evening for the bands later on, Ridge the dragon gazed out at the crowd that had likely been drawn out if for no other reason then it promised to be a night of entertainment and food that they didn't have to pay for rather then by any actual holiday cheer or love of him or his company. Dressed in a lovely red jacket that blended well with his scales while helping to protect him from the chill that was generally always in the air, he cleared his throat before speaking with a tone of voice that commanded attention. "Ladies, Gentlebirds, ponies and anyone else who happened to be here that I haven't spotted in the crowd yet. As the founder and president of Prosperity Mining, Griffonstone has been good to me since my arrival here. As such, I couldn't help but feel the urge to give back a little to the community that has allowed me to prosper in such a relatively short amount of time as a sign of goodwill going forward into the new year. However before we can enjoy the music, take advantage of the food and get plastered on drink I do believe it's time for me to make a little speech." "And I believe it's time for us to take a little nap!" An elderly voice called from the crowd, the exact source of which was lost amongst the wave of merriment and laughter. Ridge himself couldn't help but chuckle along as he waved a claw in the air. "I know, but formalities and all that. Let's just get this over with quick." Reaching into a pocket of his jacket to remove a sheet of paper... and then into a different pocket to pull out an almost comically small pair of glasses that he donned, he started by going "My speech, here is my holiday speech." before politely clearing his throat before reading it aloud. "Thank you all and merry Hearts Warming!" before lowering the piece of paper and gazing out over the crowd. The silence was quickly filled by a different elderly voice from the crowd that seemed to be close to where the original had come from. "That was the speech?!" before it was quickly joined by the original speaker. "It was dumb!" "It was obvious!" "It was pointless!" "It was... short?" There was a silence as two old griffons turned to look at each other, before both turning back towards the stage and announcing together "I LOVED IT!" much to the amusement of the crowd and Ridge himself. "Well I'm tried of speeches." Ridge announced, before blowing a brief burst of flame that combusted the paper in his claws before declaring "Let's get this party started!" and abandoning the stage to allow the first band to get started, the dance floor to live up to its namesake and the food and drink to be open to the public.
  8. Ok everypony! I don't really know how to kick off an RP, so I'll just give a basic idea of what I had in mind. I was thinking the setting could be Fillydelphia, where Cakepop has set up a small bakery shop. I'm open to OCs (I actually prefer them!) and cast. I'm fine with any storyline, I'm not one for planning out a lot of details before I roleplay, so I would like to see where it just takes us! I would love a slice of life RP, but again, I'm open to mostly anything. To give you more of an idea of what we could do here, you can take a look at my character sheets! Excited to hear from somepony!
  9. Hope smiled as she arrived at the trainstation with the reformed Sombra. Sure he still had quirks from when he was king (like his horn and dark magic), but she was the one who was able to calm him down whenever needed. Guards stopped them from entering until they saw she was a princess and had an invitation. "Excuuuse me, but i thought i was allowed to take a friend with me." She hissed. "We had expected someone other than...THAT" "well i had expected guards to be nice to a princess, but i don't get what i want either, now do i?" She passed through with Sombra, who had growled slightly. "I don't think they're happy to have me." She giggled slightly and he chuckled, knowing what she was going to say. "Well it is kind of logical on one hand...uh hoof. You did kind of enslave a whole empire. But on the other hoof, you're reformed. Or at least calmed down around me. So it shouldn't be a problem right?" "No it shouldn't. Doesn't mean i don't understand them." Just as she was about to say something, she bumped into somepony. "Oof. Excuse me. I was talking to my bf and wasn't paying attention." She smiled.
  10. Griffonstone. Once, it had been the shining jewel of griffon kind. It's wealth and influence reached far and wide, allowing the catbirds who grew up and lived there a great deal of prestige and pride that they could lord over those unfortunate enough to not have the grace or wealth to live their themselves. But as is often the case with history, the wheel turned ever onward; Their greatest trading partner disappeared off the face of the planet, one of their kings great treasures was stolen with their monarchs spending to much time and resources trying to get it back in vain... and while the authority of Griffonstone crumbled to dust other powers rose up to fill the void it left behind. Now, Griffonstone was little more then a dump for old griffons to stubborn to admit that the old days were over and die and those poor, unfortunate souls that were too poor to live anywhere else. The glories of the past long destroyed, outright ransacked or simply abandoned to rot while the slums in their shadows grew more dilapidated and cheap as the years passed by. But as he sat at an outdoors chair that somehow seemed to have all of its legs be the short one making it wobbly, Ridge the dragon did not see Griffonstone's distant past or its depressing present. Instead the white dragon's eye gaze was focused on a piece of parchment that the pony he had hired to confirm his suspicions had taken the time to write their detailed report on, only occasionally letting it flicker over to the sack of 'samples' that had been unearthed in the process before his attention returned to ink on paper. It was a complicated document in the fact that the terminology employed by it would have confused most beings able to read and write who didn't have a background in geology, but for Ridge it teased out a smile. Putting the parchment down, he opened up the sack of samples in order to draw one of them out to see it with his own eyes. While he would confess that emeralds were low on his personal list of favorite flavors when it came to gems (through some of them were good for decoration) the one that he held in his claw had earned something of a special place in his heart as it seemed to glow in the light, twisting the light of the sun into a rather pleasant dark green color. It wasn't big or that impressive looking, through it would easily be able to purchase a couple of the slum homes that made up Griffionstone itself, but the emerald itself was nowhere near as important as what its presence represented. Griffionstone had a future... and Ridge was going to claim it.
  11. Well, this had been an entirely uneventful day so far. Angel was lounging on a cloud over Ponyville, watching the residents go about their day. Things had been quiet for the mare recently, and while she did enjoy this town, it could get a bit boring at times. Ah well, that was part of reason she loved this town. Nice and peaceful most of the time, gives a good contrast to her adventuring. She was wearing the armor, but the blades were retracted for now and her chain was wrapped around her hoof. The pegasus zony rolled over onto her back, watching the sky for a bit and settling in for a bit of a nap unless something happened around here.
  12. "Make way, make way!" Never let it be said that Prince Blueblood didn't have a flair for spectacle and making an entrance. His showiness was often only restrained by an aristocratic sense of dignity. Some occasions, however, were sufficiently large as to overwhelm any hesitation, and this, well... This occasion was as big as the Sphinx the Prince was currently riding on the back of through the cobbled streets of Canterlot. "Behold, Citizens, the great Marvel of the Southern Desert Lands!" The Sphinx's name was Niilavin, and Blue had encountered him while accompanying the Sultana of Saddle Arabia on an archaeological dig. Apparently, one of the old Pharaohs had enchanted the great desert cat, and subsequently petrified him upon his own death. By donning the amulet that had been used control Niil, Blueblood had broken the petrification spell, and become Niil's new master. As the giant cat hadn't yet adjusted to the new norms of civilization quite yet ("No, we don't eat our enemies, we befriend them! Bad boy."), it had been decided that the safest thing to do would be to keep the enchantment going, while the Prince took Niil back to Equestria, more or less to housebreak him. Blueblood being Blueblood, however, he couldn't help but use the opportunity to show off his status. So, taking a few souveniers home to dress himself similarly to a Pharoah of old, he now Paraded down the main streets and squares of Canterlot, showing of his new pet and his new bling to all and sundry. Faust only knew what the papers would make of this...
  13. OOC Star Wars The Fallen Force A dark fog hangs over the Equestrian Galaxy. War has decimated the ranks of the galaxy’s Jedi protectors. Once numbered in the thousand, only a few hundred remain. Now a new threat will emerge that may end them all together. With a Galactic Senate now the ruling body of the Galaxy, the two sisters have retired from ruling and now focusing on protecting the galaxy through the Magic of Friendship and the Force. Recently promoted Knight Midnight Oil has been assigned to a secret mission to a planet long forgotten by his old master, as well as another surprise for the young Jedi Knight. Now a young Jedi Knight, Midnight Oil, has been tasked by his old master on a secrete mission to the ancient saber forge before darkness swallows the galaxy..... Little dose the team know that a new threat is waiting in the shadows.... Midnight Oil stood the main hanger of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. His gaze locked onto the Mu-class shuttle in front of him. His heart was beating the quickest it had since he had passed the Jedi Trials only a few short days ago. "Jedi Knight....Jedi Knight....Commander Midnight..." he muttered to himself "Your first mission on behalf of Master Luna...You can...You must do this.." figgiting with his robe's hood, he would walk slowing towards the shuttle taking slow, deep breaths. Reaching the shuttles ramp, he would lean against on the landing struts, awaiting the team that had been chosen for this mission.
  14. Silverbolt made his return to Ponyville with a flapping of wings. It had been a long time since he had come back to this place, his wayward rambling and courier routes keeping him from coming to visit. He had owed his mother a visit but it would have to wait. He had heard some rumors through a rather frequent client of the courier service, Pocket Change. As he landed, he chuckled to himself. He still recalled that whole mess with the bugs and Pocket. What a fine mess that he narrowly avoided! The rumors he had heard was of some sort of old treasure or artifact being hidden somewhere far away from Ponyville but wanted to meet him here, mostly away from prying eyes and ears. There was some prudence in choosing Ponyville, it was home to Princess Twilight and still sleepy enough that as long as you avoided the Crystal Tree you could speak in relative privacy. At least that was what he could gather from his somewhat cursory overview of the town. He trotted towards the appointed meeting place, wearing his courier uniform and carrying a package. The package was shifted to his back as he now waited for Pocket to arrive. Their meeting place was at the edge of town, heading towards Sweet Apple Acres. He yawned as he now sat down, waiting for the arrival of the white coated unicorn stallion. There was definitely an air of excitement about him as he considered the potential for fame and glory. Perhaps he could hang up the courier's sack for a time if things went well!
  15. Welcome to the Explorers Society! The pub was founded many years ago by an adventurer named Bounder O’ Adventure and his fearless group of like-minded friends. They wanted a place they could hang out and talk about the adventures they had either been on or were about to start. They hoped to create a place they could hang photos and paintings of their adventures and friends. And where they could display mementos of their epic feats. The actual society held monthly meetings in an hidden room on property, but with the disbandment of the actual Society, the room had been unopened for decades. For all intent and purposes, the ‘ES’ was now basically a well themed pub. This pub still allowed story-tellers to sit by the fire and spin their tall-tales. Grateful pub-patrons had been know to send a few drinks towards the narrator, as long as he or she had a good yarn to spin. Two ponies slowly made their way through the pub, only stopping to admire the many paintings of adventurers of the past. The older pony, a red Pegasus coated mare let out a sigh as her eyes fell upon a particular painting. This one consisted of a rather heavy looking stallion adorned with an oversized white mustache that look up nearly half of his face and made him look like an elderly walrus. An neat little monocle and pith helmet completed the scarlet cheeked earth pony's 'uniform'. "This is grandpa and dad's old friend. Merry old 'Colonel Critchlow.", her voice was filled with respect and awe. "Once in a blue moon, we would pop over here and I would listen to the good Colonel's stories while dad would play cards or darts with his officer friends...And while I was told some of his stories were real, he generally liked to 'enhance' his tales....For the listener's sake." The younger pony nodded her head. Hopefully somepony would have a tale of their own to tell.
  16. Hope and optimism spring ever eternal in the minds of ponies. At least, that was what must have been so for a mare to run, for years, a wine and grape punch shop smack dab in the middle of cider country. Not that Berry Punch resented the Apple family at all! It was just that she thought there was room enough for all fruits in this town. Enough of her fellow citizens seemed to agree to keep her shop afloat, but not quite enough to make it a success. "Success" being defined as enough to give her little filly the life her mother felt she deserved. Dreams of little Ruby Pinch being Equestria's fifth Princess aside, Berry really did need help to move stock this year. And wouldn't you know it, but a new mare from the Crystal Empire came to town, one skilled in making crafts from crystals! Just the sort of thing needed to showcase her wonderful beverages. It being a slow day at her own shop, Berry felt no shame in shuttering early, and trotting down to the new mare's house, rapping on the door with great expectations...
  17. Celestia rose from her bed, and went to her balcony. The moon was already sinking down, so Luna was ahead of her today. Celestia smiled softly, and her horn lit up in that glittering golden magic color. The sun slowly began to rise over the horizon, bringing light to the world and awakening it from the peaceful slumber of the gentle night. She loved the sweet night time her sister made.Tia slowly finished raising the sun into place and moved to the desk in her room. As she sat to look at the calendar, something came to her. It was her birthday. While most of her subjects had long forgotten it, many ponies near her still remembered. It was always a fun day, and she enjoyed the often festive like celebrations they held in the gardens for her. She let them do as they pleased, it was more fun that way. As she began putting on her finery, she paused to look in the mirror. Setting the gold trappings aside, she stood in front of her mirror and looked at herself. No. Today she was going without them. Her subjects knew her well enough to know it was her. She didn't need all the finery of a princess to be a happy pony. Taking one last look at herself, she nodded and moved to her door. Today was a day to be happy and she strolled the halls slowly. She looked out the windows at the guards as they went about their daily tasks and patrols. She could see that there was already a banner announcing it was her birthday, and that court was canceled. Moving down the hall she went to the dining hall. The table was massive, made to accommodate over two dozen ponies at once. But on mornings like this, it was just her and her sister. Taking a seat at the end of the table, she leaned a hoof on the wood to wait. She was pondering what was for breakfast. Maybe Luna would make pancakes, or the chefs would make something sweet and fruity. While the first attempt of her sibling to cook was not that great, Luna had kept practicing, and she got really good at it. Celestia herself was no good in the kitchen, she knew that. The best she could do was make a salad, and even then it was bland. As she waited, she started to hum softly. Her eyes drifted over the room, lit only by the light from the windows. It was lavish, and set with all manner of finery. Celestia had come to just accept it, though secretly she wanted to get rid of it all. She had come to miss the simpler time when it was just she and her little sister, dining on a picnic blanket in a flower field and enjoying the simple foods nature provided them.
  18. By the time all the invitations were sent out, the event was no longer very much of a surprise. It was no secret that Chieftain Sigrun of Clan Askr and Vakstyra Halvard of Clan Breen had hit it off very well ever since their first meeting in the Saarvergerg Arena, and fast became more than friends. The fact that their homeland was split by a civil war, however, intruded inevitable delays on anything official. Not to mention the somewhat complicated politics involving Clan Breen’s public neutrality in the matter of the war, while Sigrun and Clan Askr were very much on the side of the Loyalists. Many tedious months of politics later, however, and Halvard had finally managed to shift his Clan’s position, and considerable resources, behind the King’s cause. As these were not inconsiderable in amount, the ceremony itself would be made a fairly extravagant affair, the marriage of the two now seen as a symbol and lynchpin of their clan’s alliance. Which meant, of course, that their wedding was now further delayed by the amount of planning that had to go into it… *Good thing I’ve never been one to shy away from logistics.* Halvard mused, smiling as he completed the last double-check of the mead supply. Sigrun wasn’t one for fancy and frou-frou, thank the gods, but an abundance of guests required an abundance of food, drink, and space. Running his eyes over the hall, and comparing the numbers on their guest list, he pursed his lips. *Well…. Two out of three isn’t bad. Hope the foreign guests don’t mind the crush.* At least the native guests wouldn’t. After all, it isn’t a party until everybou’s up in each other’s faces! Whether from joy or fighting really depended on the mood and the mead. Hopefully, this all wouldn’t be too much… ~~~ While Caribou weddings weren’t exactly the same ceremony as one generally saw in the southern lands, there was a general commonality between them, in that the groom and bride didn’t come alone. Each would bring either a close relation, or a close friend, representing all the relationships surrounding the pair that would intertwine. Halvard had thought long and hard about who he would bring, but ultimately settled on what he felt was the best, and only choice. “Are you ready, Calder?” The bull called out to the one whom he had come to think of as a son. This was not a trivial question, as the younger bull had many quite legitimate reasons for being nervous about publicly appearing back in Whitescar. Halvard had strongly encouraged him to come out with him, though; partly for his own good, to face and conquer the demons of his memory, at least in some ways. The other reason, however, was one he wouldn’t say to his adopted son, as it had to do, again, with the politics of the situation. Calder wasn’t exactly a stereotypical bull, in many ways, but Halvard felt that what he himself was fighting this civil war for was to make a place for caribou like his son. This was a public show of solidarity for the family, and the gods have mercy on any who’d have a problem with it!
  19. The Grand Galloping Gala is a grand party held in Canterlot to celebrate the birth of Equestria, it is known to hold elegant music, activities, famous ponies such as The Wonderbolts and musicians of great expertise. Of course, no pony could simply trot in and enjoy it, you have to have a golden ticket to enter the celebration which is held in the Princess' Castle. Every pony wishes to attend such a beautifully put together party... Well, maybe not everypony. Just today, Kahoot had learned about the Gala, never has she ever heard of such an event until she, as well as her theater crew, each received a ticket as well as a personal letter inviting them to the celebration, it clearly stated that the ponies of Canterlot, Ponyville, and of many other cities attending the Gala would love to see their performance. At first, Kahoot wasn't too excited considering her theater group is often invited to "small" events to perform, though, as soon as she learned just how important The Grand Galloping Gala is, she was bouncing off of walls with pure joy. The spotlights were quickly maneuvering to aim at the actors and actresses on stage, Kahoot being one of them as their show ends. They lower their heads, earning cheers and claps from the audience, roses are thrown around them to show just how amazing their show had been. While Kahoot may have wanted to remain on that stage forever, basking in the praises from her audience, it was time for the musicians to continue playing their instruments for the high-class ponies from all over to dance and feast on the snacks and food at the buffet table. Kahoot's appearance is not her usual choice in clothing and mane styles, in fact, she respects that the Gala is important to many ponies and is a chance to dress up properly, so she did just that. Of course, she can't do anything astounding considering she still had to look a certain way for her theater group's performance. Although Kahoot did bring a change of clothes, no way was she going to wear a maid's outfit the entire Gala. The change in clothing is just a simple dress, nothing as large and poofy as the other mares here, her hair isn't done in any specific way, either. You can't forget her signature retro glasses, they were in a different, more pastel shade, though. All in all, Kahoot does fairly stand out against most of the mares attending the celebration, not that she cares, considering her career she had to stand out. The Pegasus wanders off from her group, everyone seeming to be enjoying themselves. At this point in time, all the young mare wants is some sort of meal and food, especially after having such a long show to give. Even a pony as energetic as Kahoot needs some sort of boost to stay awake. She makes her way over to the buffet, picking out nothing too large, eating a lot made Kahoot tired and that isn't what she was aiming for. She picks a simple dandelion sandwich as well as apple cider with a side of apple pie, Kahoot could eat anything that involves apples, it's her favorite fruit. She finishes her scavenge for an energy boost, making her way to an empty table to enjoy what she chose.
  20. Ponyville was known very well for holding all sorts of characters, although, the usual beast that managed to scurry around aimlessly ever so often slipped through the cracks and appeared like magic. Sioux wasn't a very welcomed mare, very well known for her trickeries and weird shenanigans that always linked up to her horrible doings. Most would look up to someone who is confident and brave, although, Sioux uses her traits for anything but good - Resulting in the opposite of admiration for her. The real question is, did she care? Absolutely not. Sioux believed that friends were useless, the Elements of Harmony are garbage, and that Equestria should fall before her hooves and bow- Ahem, anyways... The point is, Sioux uses the motto, "Treat others the way you want to be treated" in a literal way, those who treat her like garbage received garbage... Those who treat her with kindness... Receive less garbage. This includes her only best friend, Platinum Flash. The young stallion was oddly different as well, not holding the same masculinity of most stallions but none the less getting on with his usual life. Platinum was fairly close to the beastly mare, whenever he was in town he would be spotted trailing somewhere near her or trying to whip up a conversation with her. The Photographer and the Beast. Quite the unlikely duo but none the less entertaining to watch whenever Sioux had enough of his babbling and eventually would scream in her shrieky voice about nonsense, if they wanted, they could probably become filthy rich off of comedy acts... Once again, they had their minds set on other things. Spring has finally sprung, the usual freezing cold weather growing to be more chilly and welcoming, although, with Spring brought heavy rays of Sun and Sioux + Sun = EXTREME SUNBURN TO THE POINT FLESH MIGHT MELT. Sioux's coat was incredibly sensitive to the Sun, as well as her mane which can very well fry upon contact to critical heat from Sun rays, hence the fact she usually wore a cloak and held a large black umbrella atop her head; just like usual, had a lanky young stallion hot on her trail ready to "annoy" her once again. Platinum Flash would be in town for the next week before traveling like usual, something the two Bittersweet Friends had in common. Although, Sioux's pride would never allow her to travel with HIM. "Sioux, Sioux, Sioux-" "WHAT?!" "Turn around." She turns and is immediately met with a blind flash, sending her nearly toppling over as her eyes burned, "IDIOT." As usual, the two- Well, Sioux was arguing none stop as Platinum cries over how picture perfect the unique mare was. Unfortunately, they failed to realize the attention they were drawing as well as how obnoxiously loud they were, although, most pony-folk do not hold the guts to confront them... Well, confront Sioux, afraid her shark-like teeth might latch onto them or the rumors of her being a cannibal are true. Stories really do travel fast, although, if it means no one will bother Sioux, she is all for it. Ponies of Ponyville always dread whenever the two are accompanying one another, they always drive away customers and visitors... Are louder than necessary, only causing critical migraines, and absolutely have no manners when it comes to common courtesy- Well, Sioux doesn't.
  21. The homey little cottage that had been partly paid for by her parents upon her insistence of moving out felt far too large for the young mare and her little feathered companion. Upon entering, anyone would be able to take notice of how empty the little home was; it seemed almost as if it were uninhabited, if not for the bed, other furnature, and a couple of hoof-drawn posters that remained perched upon the walls. A fire crackled in the fireplace, smoke billowing up through the hole in her roof that served as a ventilation of sorts. Little trinkets lined the old and rickety wooden shelf that hung near the entrance, many of which had been brought back by her parents over years of long trips to make up for missed birthdays or forgotten holidays. Upon the bed was a pile of blankets, which shifted after a moment or so with the muffled coughs that seemed to come from within. Orchid gave a muffled chirp of concern as she fluttered over to perch upon the edge of the mattress and tried to nose her beak into the blanket fortress that was Radiant. The mare felt absolutely horrible, as noted by the small groan that parted tired lips when the light from the fire sent a painful throb into her skull. "Not now, Orchid... We'll play later." she muttered, rubbing at her eyes some and flopping over onto her other side, back turned to the songbird, whom merely shifted forward some to try and offer a comforting nudge to Radiant's back. There was supposed to be a sort of music showcase on such a day, but Radiant had declined to show up upon awakening with a relatively mild fever. Well, she would've ended up going anyway... if Orchid hadn't refused to let the mare anywhere near the door. The songbird had sensed that something was wrong the moment Radiant greeted her with a scratchy, painful-sounding voice... and the mare smelled rather... sickly? The avian would recognize such behavior from a while back. The mare had fallen ill a lot back when she'd been recovering from the incident that had cost Radiant a wing. The little songbird remembered days on end of perching upon the edge of the mare's bed, singing the few little tunes she knew in some attempt at offering comfort to her feverish friend. Grumbling, Radiant pulled the blankets around herself more securely as she heard a knock at the door. Now who could that be? She wasn't expecting any company... was she? No matter. She pushed herself to her hooves, before clearing her throat with a wince and responding, somewhat irritably, her voice scratchy and soft. "Yes? Is someone there?"
  22. Rainbowflashdash was walking around ponyville looking for friends, and is also looking for a pony he would fall in love with, why making as many pony friends as he could get, for the time being as he waits outside his home.
  23. The beautiful white streets of the castle town of Canterlot we're littered with broken glass over turned carts and ponies buckling down in fear of whatever was tearing around the streets at high speeds causing this destruction. A blur of blue and silver tore down the city's streets letting off sonic booms every time it took off or turned a corner, only further adding to damaging the royal capital. The residence we're confused as to what was happening and more than a little pissed off their belongings we're being destroyed. A jeweler was sitting in tears as the door of his shop had been torn off it's hinges and all the valuables in his shop had vanished along with the blue blur. The supersonic object approached Canterlot Park and came to a screeching halt, now it was slowing down it could be seen more clearly. The object behind all this destruction was a stallion sized blue dragon with silver spines. Digging his claws into the ground while spreading his wings to create drag assisting in breaking, a shower of golden coins and glittering jewelry rushed past him landing in great pile before the dragon in the center of the park. The dragon known as Bolt smiled zipping atop the horde he'd amassed from Canterlot's citizens. He fell back looking relaxed placing his claws behind his head his tail swishing back and forth across the ill gotten gold. "This is the life." He told himself closing his eyes letting the diamonds and rubies drift between the claws on his toes.
  24. i was a homeless pegasus stallion, with no home to go to or family as i do my best to keep my shop open, to where i can earn enough bits to get my cloudhouse back. from cloudsdale where i did until this happen, as i wait for my friends to come and helped me out, as i helped them when they needed it,
  25. Eagle Heart stood at his post, looking stoic and alert, but in actuality was very tired. The poor stallion had been given a double shift when Stout Wings got sick.
