  1. @SteelEagle To say Scootaloo was nervous would be understating it. It'd been pretty anxiety inducing, approaching Rainbow to ask about the upcoming Sisterhooves Social - mainly because the two of them never participated in it together before. Still, she managed to buck it up for the time being and ask. Scootaloo thought that might be the end of it; once Rainbow said yes to it (which she did, thank Celestia), then Scootaloo would have a merry ole' time and the two of them would blow away the competition once the actual Sisterhooves Social came round. Scootaloo even remembered being excited at the time once Rainbow agreed and arranged a place and a time for the two of them to meet to prepare for it. The little pony had been counting the days down as they came by, and now that it's finally happening... ...that's when the doubts decided to make themselves known. Here Scootaloo sat, at the spot that Rainbow herself established for the two of them, and if she wore any she'd be quaking in her boots. Some nervous chattering of her teeth and shuffling of her hooves later, and she managed to suppress the butterflies running rampant within her stomach enough to look the part of the confident pony. To be fair, the image was pretty practiced at this point, so it was easy to slip into; but it did nothing to actually quell the worries that came floating by. After all, as luck would have it, this was when her thoughts decided to crash upon her, setting her into a state of supreme unease. What if I'm not cool enough? What if I get hurt? What if she gets hurt? What if I get her hurt? What if I mess up the routine and she'll never wanna see me again? The doubts became so prevalent that they were practically paralyzing, and it took her attempting to observe a tree in the fields to refocus herself. She swallowed thickly, straightened her sitting position, and hoped to the sun above that Rainbow would get here soon. Surely she'd start feel better once the rainbow-maned pegasus appeared to put all of her fears to rest. That was, of course, assuming she'd actually show up. "Where is she?" Scootaloo muttered to herself, agitation growing. Okay, so she was here early, but still! Surely Rainbow wouldn't ditch on her... Right?
  2. The sun was beaming down upon Ponyville, showing the town in all its glory from the shadows cast by the charming thatched buildings to the reflected beams of light from the titanic crystal tree that was the home of the Princess of Friendship, however another building was now influencing the light, positioned on the other side of the lake that sat next to Twilight's castle was the School of Friendship, a charming building that took inspiration both from the quaint townhouses, and the bold colours and spires of the castle it shared a lake with. The school was bustling with activity as it always was on a school day when classes were starting to wrap up. Within the school, one of the more unique students was quickly walking towards the exit, not quite happy with being caught up in the crowd, it would be hard to know she was not a pony; she certainly looked like one at current, with yellow fur and a blueish mane with a ladybug cutie mark. However this pony was not as she seemed, for starters she was a changeling, the only changeling attending the school, having been sent there by Thorax to study friendship and it's values as a gesture of good faith to the princess running the school. Once outside again, Ocellus lets her guard down, changing back into her real form, with her teal body and translucent pink mane. She carefully wanders through town, exploring every little detail as she also keeps an eye out for any more book shops.
  3. The mostly quiet town of Ponyville was as quiet as it normally was; it was the kind of place which lived in opposites; one day you could be relaxing at the cafe enjoying a nice hay sandwich, the next the cafe could have been flattened by the newest creature to escape the Everfree Forest. And yet ponies seemed to rebuild and carry on as normal; this was the Ponyville way, to carry on and only question it when in the company of good friends for a nice laugh. It certainly helped Coltson do both of his jobs well; nopony ever questioned how the bookstore was always left standing after such attacks or even how a store like it could stay in business when the owner had such a penchant for holding onto the valuable books; it was just the way things worked with him. It did confuse some ponies however on how the pony who ran the store almost always wore a suit and sunglasses at work when inside, however most passed it off as just another quirk from the young businesscolt. And today was a day just as any other for him; he relaxed at his counter, eating a hay sandwich he had picked up from the cafe for lunch, the sun was out and rain wasn't scheduled for another few days, so he had his door wide open, allowing the golden rays to spread across the shop floor, causing the embossed spines of the books to shine with colour, especially from the ones with foil emboss. There hadn't been many customers today; most just stopped by for a chat or to catch up with the colt, it was as pleasant and boring as you could get.
  4. Boulder Dash took a deep breath of crisp sir as he trotted through Ponyville with his saddle bags and a small sleigh behind him with a shovel and other tools on it. Though Winter Wrap Up was still being planned, Boulder Dash had volunteered at a local meeting to get a jump start on things by clearing areas most frequently used by Fillie and the elderly. Always willing to help his friends and neighbors, especially after befriending he Princess of Friendship herself, Boulder was always happy to lend a helping hand with his great strength. Looking at the Town Hall as he passed it he pulled a letter out of his saddle bag and began reading it as other Ponies around him went about their day. Dear Boulder Dash, On behalf of the Ponies of Ponyville, I wish to thank you for your help today and say how grateful we are to have you back home and for your volunteer work today. Below is a list of spots to clear today as requested by our citizens and businesses. Once again thank you for your help and please stop by my office if you have any questions. Yours Gratefully, Mayor Mare Boulder Dash smiled and made his way to his first stop, The Ponyville School Building. As he approached he recalled his own days attending the school when he was a filly himself. He waved to the young fillies as some went into the School to get warm while a few stayed outside to watch the large Earth Stallion work. Approaching a large oak near the school playground Boulder Dash saw it was still covered in snow that was slowly melting. Smirking he walked over to the tree, adjusting his hat, and cracked his thick neck. He then smashed his head into the tree causing it to rattle and shook as if hit with a Boulder or a large club, and then all the snow fell from the tree into the ground. The Fillies watching cheered and a few stamped thier hoofs approvingly. Boulder Dash bowed like a play wright to them, only to be hit on the head by a last plop of snow on the tree. "Whoa!" he shouted as the snow hit him, causing a few Fillies to chortle and laugh loudly.
  5. She felt the rumbling of the train start to slowly decelerate as she woke up from her short nap. Normal ponies probably wouldn't be able to notice the slight change at that point, but her passive heightened senses made it more obvious. The trip from Ponyville to Canterlot was long based on the fact that traversing up a mountain isn't easy for a train to do, so the most straightforward path wasn't the safest. She could almost feel her hometown within reach. She was going to miss this town when she leaves again eventually, but she couldn't just stay in this town forever. "Hey Ejaz, wake up. We're basically there," She said to the pony next to her before getting up herself. "Welcome to the most peacefully dangerous town in Equestria," She announced after the stallion awoke. "The train should be stopping any moment now and you don't want to miss this." She felt the train stop and the train's whistle announcing the arrival. She stepped off the train rushing off the platform momentarily forgetting about Ejaz, before stopping and heading back to him. "We're heading to my house first, I think it's too late to do anything else unless you want to take a detour for whatever reason."
  6. The day was just starting for many citizens of Ponyville, the sun raising up overhead just enough to peek through the closed curtains of most ponyfolk, the day as pleasant as it always was when rain wasn't scheduled. The small town glistened in the light, not least of which the castle of the Alicorn Princess of Friendship, certainly a place for one to visit on holiday, the crystalline structure performing well in its job to look nothing like the rest of the town it was in, highlighting it as the abode of an important figure. For Lens however, the day was not just starting; he had been wondering the streets of Ponyville all night and was now enjoying the warmth of the sun as he continued his laps. Work had been drying up recently for the colt, and unless he came across a major case soon; he was at great risk of losing the little shack that he called both his office, and his home. An even worse thought for the colt was that once that was lost, really there was nothing cheaper than it except to sleep on the streets. So he had started travelling out further in search of a big time case that could save his career and his home, a search that today had him staking out every street in Ponyville, waiting for something important to stumble across him.
  7. The homey little cottage that had been partly paid for by her parents upon her insistence of moving out felt far too large for the young mare and her little feathered companion. Upon entering, anyone would be able to take notice of how empty the little home was; it seemed almost as if it were uninhabited, if not for the bed, other furnature, and a couple of hoof-drawn posters that remained perched upon the walls. A fire crackled in the fireplace, smoke billowing up through the hole in her roof that served as a ventilation of sorts. Little trinkets lined the old and rickety wooden shelf that hung near the entrance, many of which had been brought back by her parents over years of long trips to make up for missed birthdays or forgotten holidays. Upon the bed was a pile of blankets, which shifted after a moment or so with the muffled coughs that seemed to come from within. Orchid gave a muffled chirp of concern as she fluttered over to perch upon the edge of the mattress and tried to nose her beak into the blanket fortress that was Radiant. The mare felt absolutely horrible, as noted by the small groan that parted tired lips when the light from the fire sent a painful throb into her skull. "Not now, Orchid... We'll play later." she muttered, rubbing at her eyes some and flopping over onto her other side, back turned to the songbird, whom merely shifted forward some to try and offer a comforting nudge to Radiant's back. There was supposed to be a sort of music showcase on such a day, but Radiant had declined to show up upon awakening with a relatively mild fever. Well, she would've ended up going anyway... if Orchid hadn't refused to let the mare anywhere near the door. The songbird had sensed that something was wrong the moment Radiant greeted her with a scratchy, painful-sounding voice... and the mare smelled rather... sickly? The avian would recognize such behavior from a while back. The mare had fallen ill a lot back when she'd been recovering from the incident that had cost Radiant a wing. The little songbird remembered days on end of perching upon the edge of the mare's bed, singing the few little tunes she knew in some attempt at offering comfort to her feverish friend. Grumbling, Radiant pulled the blankets around herself more securely as she heard a knock at the door. Now who could that be? She wasn't expecting any company... was she? No matter. She pushed herself to her hooves, before clearing her throat with a wince and responding, somewhat irritably, her voice scratchy and soft. "Yes? Is someone there?"
  8. The streets of Ponyville were bustling on the weekend. Slash had decided to visit town on a sunny day to take a stroll, maybe even buy some food back. He walks down the streets, looking at what each shop has to offer and exchanging greetings with familiar faces. Of course, there would always be curious stares whenever he would visit the town. You'd think after this long ponies would get used to his appearance, but there will always me some hooves pointing at him. Slash notices a book store out of the corner of his eye. Figuring that he'd need more to keep him occupied, he stepped into the shop to browse.
  9. Coltson was happy, that was an easy statement to make on most days of the week. The pony happily standing behind the counter of his bookstore in Ponyville as he started analyzing the cover of a new book that had came in, the spine adorned with all kinds of rare jewels, and the writing on the cover embossed in gold leaf, it was a thing of beauty in all certainty, however he seemed more interesting in the subtle printing on the front, the writing outlandishly plain compared to the rest of the front, a feature that interested him greatly as he calmly smiles as he studies the writing, which appeared to be horn writing from the way it was tilted. He opens the cover with great caution, looking like he feared the book may just disintegrate in front of him. "Okay, most definitely Pegasi origin from the interior writing and cover emboss." he notes to himself as he keeps reading through its pages.
  10. It had been FOREVER since Cashmere had stepped hoof back into Ponyville! He'd been so busy touring the great country that he'd neglected to come home, well now was the time to do so! Cashmere missed creating, missed chatting, but most of all, he was HOMESICK, and wanted to rekindle feelings between himself and his fellow mares and stallions. The grey Unicorn was practically humming, as he threw open the curtains of his shop, and let the light in, fixing his mane with his magic in the mirror, grinning at himself as he did so, before strutting out onto the bustling city streets! Hello World! Cashmere was back and he was here to stay! The air felt so good he'd almost break into song, if he had time to actually think of one, instead humming "Winter Wrap Up" would have to do. "Good morning~!"
  11. In the town of Ponyville, rumors were spreading, not the usual idle gossip however, these voices were often hushed, and somewhat fearful in their delivery, word spreading like wildfire through the town in a way that only rumors can. Something was in the Everfree Forest; whilst this was nothing new, and in fact a fact of life often mocked by the Ponyville residents, this was something that started to worry them, as most creatures from the forest were easy to tell what they were, and often kept to themselves, Manticores, and Timberwolves alike usually just did their own thing. However these rumors were of the unknown, ponies seeing mismatched eyes glowing deep in the forest, a ghostly green glow surrounding this thing. A creature strong enough to knock down trees and take down Timberwolves, walking with heavy thuds and strange unnatural sounds. Though perhaps the most worrying part of this rumor, was that each time somepony experienced this creature; it was closer and closer towards Ponyville; with the possibility of such a strange and possibly dangerous being entering Ponyville, many citizens were restless, though due to the claims of the public having no evidence, there was not any significant guard presence. However such a situation would more than likely attract attention of other heroic, or otherwise villainous forces, interested in whatever this creature was.
  12. The midday sun sat high in the sky above the pleasant town of Ponyville, ponies coming and going in the usual cheery way that Ponyville seemed to inspire in others, perhaps it was the fresh open air, or the quaint little shops lining the main street; or the giant crystal palace of the Princess of Friendship, which was probably partly to do with it. Though just because everypony else wandered around with a smile, doesn't mean that Lensblot would, and indeed he did not. He hated jobs in Ponyville; everypony just tried to be too helpful, despite not knowing the intricate nature of his work; couldn't go five feet without somepony attempting to make friends, and that annoyed Lensblot to no end as a pony who preferred to decide on who his friends should be, rather than having some crazy pony bounce into his face and declare it. Nonetheless; he had just finished a case, albeit an annoyingly circular case, the cycle was over now as he pondered on what to do next; it was a little early to head back to Los Pegasus, but he also had no intention of doing a castle tour or the like, so instead he busied himself doing what he loved most; exploring, dipping in and out of the roads and alleys, looking through each kind of shop he could find, and what secrets were hidden away in the dark. He pushed his sunglasses back up his nose as he eventually comes to what seemed to be some kind of ice cream shop; deciding that this would probably be the cheapest place to get quick food to provide energy to get back home, he quickly nipped inside, strolling towards the counter as his tail sways from side to side, his face still resting with a slightly annoyed expression.
  13. It goes like this: One town meeting in Ponyville. One spirit of chaos. One heated discussion on the value of foals. And just a dash of the regular Ponyville madness. Suffice it to say, the town meeting does not adjourn on a high note. In fact, most everyone ends on a low night - about foal height, to be exact. Luckily, not everyone succumbs to the heated debate, leaving a few still capable of keeping order. Which is good, because when a town assembly suddenly becomes the target of a chaotic prank, order is the best tool to maintain. Doesn't mean it's the easiest, though. ---------- Welcome to the "Adults get turned into a bunch of little foals" RP sign-up! A town meeting is being held in Ponyville to talk about (insert hand-wavey excuse here), and several ponies have gathered to listen to the discussions and participate. However, when Discord shows up and starts arguing the benefit of foals with another, things take a nosedive into chaos and instability. You know, regular day in Ponyville. Right up to and including Discord changing a bunch of adults into foals to prove his point. Adults who are transformed into foals (roughly the cutie mark crusader stage, with no cutie marks) lose all memory of their lives past that age - both their bodies and their minds revert back to foal age. So while none of them will remember ever setting up their businesses or joining the military or getting married, they will all remember going to school the 'previous' day or eating breakfast 'just that morning' with their parents. If you're interested, sign up below! Sign ups are open, but depending on how many people are interested we might install a cut-off point. Ideally we'll have a good ratio of foals to adults in the thread, but if you're really interested in playing a certain role then go ahead and sign up. We'll work something out! Adults - Applejack (SteelEagle) - Presteza (Pretzelparty) - Fire Walker (tacobob) Adults turned Foals - Inkbrand (Zeig) - Dunder (Dunder) - Diamond Dust (PyroBlaze) - Prince Blueblood (PrinceBlueblood) - Squall (Ciraxis) - Naj (DerpRavaner) - Bluemoon (DreamySunday) Update: Thread is now live!
  14. The sun had just about crawled to the highest point in the sky that it would be at for the day, as the ponies of Ponyville busy themselves with their usual tasks and activities, while they go around doing their own thing, another pony was walking down the road into the town, not quite busying himself with anything but walking. The pony wanders through the town, glancing at each building he passes from behind his goggles, his wagon trundling behind him. The wagon was obviously what this pony called home, having a roof, and a small chimney with a few windows and a door at the rear, it was made out of very basic, but relatively rigid wood, made to take an impact if needed. Eventually he arrives at the town square, knowing that to be the performance area of every town, he disconnects himself from his wagon, heading around back to grab a sign from inside it that stated proudly Sword fighting demonstrations and practice sessions with a smaller print underneath reading Prices to be negotiated per client along with a schedule of when the main performances would be, with one every hour. Switch smiles as he looks at his wagon and the sign, nodding at the neatness of the setup, there was a place for everything and everything was in its place. With that he sets to work with lowering the 'legs' of the wagon, anchoring it into position so that it would not roll on the wheels or slip when anypony was inside. The unicorn checks his helmet is still sitting well on his head before he pulls a drawer like section out from the underside of the wagon, a pair of legs supporting the overhang as it extended into a nice bench that he sat on, humming as he waited to see if anypony would actually come past.
  15. It had almost been a year, already. Zap was growing up so fast. It wouldn't be too long before his upbringing becomes the responsibility of other ponies living in Ponyville. In the time he has lived in the world he has learned to walk and begin talking. He even had short episodes in which he could fly before his bone mass kept him from hovering indefinitely. When harvest time came, he learned what apples trees look like and how big they are. He has learned that rosebush thorns cause pain when touched, but he has also learned how soft and warm Granny's quilt can be. He barely remembered what it was like when there was snow still on the ground until the white stuff returned, but he is well acquainted with the discomfort from being outside for too long when it is really hot. Seasons for Zap Apple were not a rhythm. To him they were just things that happened with no understanding of the concept. He remembers a strange evening called Nightmare Night, what a fun adventure that was, but he was not aware it will come again. He has experienced everything a year can offer, but he has only experienced them once. And he could not be more entertained. He was busy playing with his toys in the living room at Sweet Apple Acres. He could hear commotion going on in the kitchen, hearing his mother's voice, and Nan-nan's voice too. Big Mac was probably outside doing work, he could think, and Apple Bloom wasn't usually around until later in the day, because of something called school, but her voice could be heard anyway. It seemed like a special day, but he was not sure why. And before he could think about it further, he just had a great idea on how he can further play with his toys. For the past few days he had been trying to beat his record for how high he could stack blocks. His toy blocks, which had symbols written on them, some letters some animals, were mostly useful for stacking. A practical use need not be necessary, Zap had fun trying to stack them as high as he could. In previous attempts he had stood on chairs to place blocks higher. Another time, he stood atop Uncle Big Mac in order to reach the top of his towers of wooden blocks. This time he would try even higher, towards the height of the ceiling. He starting stacking the blocks one by one, humming a song his mother taught him while doing it.
  16. @SteelEagle ------------ Were one to talk of the past, this story would have to be set in the summer. Though the fall and winter currently paced the northern skies, keeping skies grey and turning lakes to ice, this was during what was better known as Summer's break. It was usually around this time foals were set free from the torture of hot, crowded schoolhouses that could not do much to stave off the summer's heat. With home study lessons given out to keep them occupied and learning, many took the opportunity to stray from chores and run off the the school's yard to practice their stick ball games, or climb the old trees that gnarled it's boundaries. Blue skies were scarcely painted by the would plumes encountered during the spring, which ushered in rains. Now, the heat did well to dry up the remnant folds of white that once offered shade in the early reaches of the summer's touch. Farmers and other workers were not so lucky. While foals could run about and tarry on their lessons, it was something wholly different for working adults. This dreary recourse is what caused the spirit to think and wonder. In the schoolyard foals played to their heart's content. In the tree above the serpentine chimera, supposedly of pony and dragon despite his numerous other parts, was lounges on a branch, like a lazy cat pretending they weren't in the room with you, and twas little more than pure coincidence. He would knock the ball off the roof or aide in the stealing of bases or topple enemy block forts making then ripe for conquest. "If the adults are working why am I left foal sitting? I think I am just as capable as other ponies to be part of a workforce." Though anything involving cubicles gave him nightmares. The spirit much preferred something fun, amusing. If he couldn't use it to show off or place himself in an advantageous position, why bother? Well for the simple fact it could be a way to figure out new things about ponies and their silly pretenses on life and how it should be lived. Maybe he was just old in his thinking, but being spared a cataclysm or two didn't do well for a species' growth! Though that did give him a wonderfully, terrible, idea. Why couldn't he work? Yes. He did fancy that game the boys played. He had to admit having ready figurines to animate for a game of O&O was much easier than manifesting armies. The latter had tendencies create spacial rips in time and space. Repairable mind you, just not advisable to accidentally summon a creature from another realm than a paper cut out of the actual final boss. Things happened. You live, you learn and hug them until they forget the horrors summoned from the deep! "Next time I won't be using that spell word." He pressed his paw to his chest, fluffing up a bit at the unsavoury memory. Sitting his head up he stared off into the distance. Perched precariously as he was, the chimeric limbed beast seemed right at home in the odd posture. His paw barely held on, the hind talon and his claws taking up most that work as his body coiled once around the branch before his torso lay flat, forelimbs rest. The beast's red scaled tail dangled low on the branch, swinging to and fro as some young foals thought it keen to swing from it and sit upon it like a rope. Feeling the last of them slide off as they went off to play tag the chaotic beast pushed to sit up, arching his back before pouncing off the branch. In his place would appear an older pony, now left to substitute for the wriggly spirit. Discord would vanish in a flash before reappearing in the distance with a pair of binoculars in paw. With a most accurate and crystal clear zoom the draconequus powered around Ponyville for vi-- playmates. It was too hot to spend it outside, hence his tree perching amidst the shade rather than playing with the foals as he usually did. Ah, one by one it seems the others were trying to enjoy the great outdoors or were busy. It was the luck if the draw that one pony drew the spirit's incurable hyperactivity. Wiggling he hurled the viewfinders backwards, sending them into oblivion, or in this case taking down and starling a cat. He winced and looked down at the mess he made below. "Oh they were going to knock down the trash cans anyway!" He clapped his paw and claw together, warping off to his destination. His first stop this heated afternoon? Apple Family Farm. While sometimes he liked to, ah, help, the apple crops by turning them various designer colors and likely sending certain work mares into a fit, he felt boring old red and green were old hat. Now where was his goooood and stubborn friend?
  17. He had spent the late morning setting up his small booth in the town square. The parent radio station in Manehattan had sent along all kinds of cheaply made free goodies to hand out as well as some concert tickets to give away as prizes for the days trivia competition. He had a small broadcast set up that linked back up with the station and tower on the hill outside of town. He had to rely on the digital back ups of the stations collection but he still much prefers actually using the piles of traditional media he had collected over the last few years. Sitting down on the stool he began the broadcast. "Good morning ponyville its your pal Fm Eddy here on the dial at 96.7 The Record Stack! I am here in the town square of our lovely little burg with all kinds of goodies to give away as well as some concert tickets to The Sword playing at the Hollow club in Manehattan all expenses paid of course, the tickets come with a one night stay at the lovely Gem Set hotel and a meal on us at the after party" He set up the set list as he spoke. "all you need to do is come down and get some trivia right, and while we wait how about something off The Swords newest album high country." Sitting back on his fold up chair he pushed sunglasses up on his nose with a hoof and waited. OOC info on posts -There will be links to songs in the song titles -Most if not all will be metal of some kind it is the radio stations moteif -Be good to each other! and Party on dudes! 18. Lens steps off the train into Ponyville, donning his sunglasses in the gentle warmth of the often pleasant weather of the idyllic town, hard to imagine how many times it had nearly been destroyed by one thing or another, but if there was one thing he knew well, it was how quickly buildings could spring up from nothingness. He wanders along the platform towards the town, taking out the note that was slipped through his letterbox in Los Pegasus, in which it simply read 'Ponyville, important, reward.' he rubs his head as he begins down towards the main street into town. Of course on the way through he stopped to marvel at the majesty of some of the more known buildings, the castle for a quick gaze, after all, even with shades, a quick glance was all that was safe for that building in the sun. He then stopped to buy a snack at Sugarcube Corner, and took notice of the boutique as he passed it, all the time focusing on nothing but trying to find something, anything, that could be out of the ordinary or reason to deliver a note in person rather than sending a letter, the whole thing seemed off, but it could be so many possibilities; a childish prank, a business competitor wishing to meet in the open, or what he feared most: a genuine crisis.
  19. In hindsight, the necessity of holding a town meeting in a daycare center, of all places, should have been a warning. It had, however, started off completely well-intentioned, as such things usually did. Because considering the overall concern Ponyville citizens had raised against the budgeting of a new and highly expensive daycare center for the town, it had seemed most appropriate to address said concerns in the building itself, to show off all the fabulous features that the town's budget had gone into crafting it. Part town meeting, part walk-in tour, the daycare was currently open for ponies to take their first look inside before the meeting itself kicked off. And even the slightest glance over the interior of the building would have provided evidenced to exactly how much had gone into its planning and building...perhaps an overly extravagant amount, at that. The main foyer itself boasted an impressive set up. A large open space filled with shelves that sported toys, safe art supplies, and a small play area were all visible upon first walking in, more than ample room for a small legion of foals to run around and play in. One corner in particular held a large playhouse for foals to dart in and out of, while another, softer looking corner held a very large plush chair and a veritable army of stuffed animals, of all shapes and sizes. Two doors, with handles too high up for any flying foal to reach, branched off the main room on the left and right sides, while a third door led out to the fenced in back yard. The door leading to the left opened up to an arts and crafts room. A semi-circular table sat in the very middle, with one chair obviously meant for a foalsitter or daycare pony to lead the pack, with the others all placed around the half circle. The room was filled with all sorts of materials useful in arts and crafts, including paints, glues, glitter, construction paper, popsicle sticks, and any other sort imaginable. All available materials were housed safely out of the reach of any and all foals, along with the door handle that led to a very simplified kitchen that remained locked at all times. The modest refrigerator and pantry were kept stocked with all sorts of snacks and drinks for a hungry foal, to be brought out and shared at any time. The other door leading to the right of the main room showed the full extent of thoughtfulness that had gone into creating Lifetime Daycare Center. Inside, another large area held several soft surfaces for a weary foal to take a rest and sleep off an exciting afternoon - or the exercise a quick power nap. Whatever the case, the soft, plush couches and seats were large and roomy, allowing an entire host of foals to all snuggle up together if they so choose, or to cuddle against a caretaker. A few storybooks were scattered around the shelves, along with some more stuffed animals, but for the most part, the room was a quiet and peaceful place for a foal to simply sleep. The locked door to the backyard opened up to one of the most extravagant playgrounds imaginable to a young foal's eyes. The gym itself was a sight to behold, a myriad of several different playground activities all merged together in one large, continuous loop. A small wading pool, currently empty, was also set off to the side for the hotter months, along with an impressive looking treehouse that extended just high enough for a foal to feel on top of the world. The main body of the treehouse was big enough to comfortably fix to six foals at once, though the various small balconies strewn along the structure more than made up for the lack of space. The entire backyard was surrounded by a wooden fence that held the latest acquisition from Neighponese magitech. When activated, a magical barrier could spring to life at a moment's notice around the entirety of the daycare, ensuring nothing untoward made its way inside. Magitech security, a plethora of activities, and a play area to make even the richest parents green with envy - such were the expenses that had gone into the making of the daycare center. Boasting town-wide support for any and all foals, it was clear that Lifetime Daycare Center payed for itself. It's just that...some of the town's citizens needed some extra convincing. -------------------- Link to OOC
  20. @AzureBlue -------------------- Lightning had been unable to gather the courage to find a place of work in Ponyville. The resident monarchy made him rather nervous and it was about the only suitable place for his abilities. What better place than surrounded by books to work? You could hardly call the local bookshop a library and the schoolhouse was unsuited to his status as a professor! It was no university. He had settled here with his special somepony in hopes they could live together, and she remain clsoe to her work and family! Hs own -- were quite far. Manephis was his place of birth, his family's home for generation, but he dare not voice his dilemma. If it would make Dusk happy and allow her comfort -- he would die with his secret intact! The bird-brained scholar was currently at struggle with the boxes delivered by the moving ponies for the move. Piles of them now sat in the living area and he had no idea where to begin. He set the task on himself to unpack, lest pester the pregnant mare with undue stress! Bright feathers and a sunny attitude he was sure he could complete the task. All he needed was to divert a few points into his dexterity.... The point system. It was Distant Lightning's way of dealing with his anxiety. When he was young his sister and he developed a means in which to combat his degrading, self-destructive fretting. While she was the courage and brawn, he was the brains and coward! Together the twins were a perfect being, but apart Thunder only knew how to fight herself out of a paper bag, while Lightning could talk himself out of one. Since Thunder was often hospitalized due to her weaker constitution, Lightning had to cope. The point system let him mentally compensate for his anxieties brought on by not having his other half at his side. The pegasus gave pause, his ears pricking as his wing's claw reached up to adjust his monocle. Where was his stat sheets? He couldn't possibly reorder his points without his stat sheet! "Duuusk! Have you seen my journal?!" He always kept it at hoof, but in all the hullabaloo of moving, he seems to have misplaced it.
  21. "Pinkie Pie, you've totally outdone yourself! I mean just when I think you can't get any cooler you throw an even more unimaginably epic party!" Rainbow looked out over the scene before her. "I knnoooowwww! This is gonna be the most super duper extra special funniest fun time party anypony has ever seen!" Pinkie surveyed her work with a huge smile and a bounce. "Who ever heard of having this many fun rides at a party? I mean it sure was a coincidence that those ponies that rent carnival rides were passing through Ponyville. And it was an even bigger coincidence that they had already decided to stop here for the night. And an even bigger coincidence that they wanted to trade sweets from Sugarcube Corner in exchange for setting up the rides and running them for us!" "Yeah! That's a pretty sweet deal!" "Ha! You're hilarious Rainbow Dash!" "Oh yeah, sweet! Ha! I didn't even get that!" "Hanging out with me brings out the funny fun in everypony!" Pinkie hooked a foreleg around her best friend. "I'm super excited you got Spitfire to stop by later tonight to do a special flying firework presentation!" "Everything for this party is gonna be awesome!" Everything was ready! Fun carnival games and rides, sweet treats and prizes, a firework show! All that was missing were the guests and of course the guest of honor! "So, when's the Derpster supposed to show up?" "Everypony is supposed to be here any minute now!"
  22. Continuation of Dart Struck Well, he wasn't being carted off by one ear to spend the night in the slammer, soooo... That was something. It probably helped that he was still covered in bits of donut and frosting and nopony in their right mind would want to touch him right now - which would normally be too tragic a conundrum to deal with on the best of days, but Inkbrand was still riding high on the incredibility-turned-food fight to process anything properly. He pretty much only had the brain power to keep oxygen in his lungs as they ran away from the scene of the crime, a feat made all the more troublesome by the breathless laughter that kept escaping his mouth. "Holy buck, that was a riot," Inkbrand hooted as they finally slowed down, bent over as he attempted to finally catch his breath. Frosting slopped down from his mane to land in the dirt, however, reminding the grey stallion of what they had actually just escaped from, and sending him into another round of barking laughter. "Did you see their faces," he snickered gleefully, glancing over one shoulder as if the crowd and exploded donut cart were still visible, even though they had run too far away to even hear the commotion anymore. "Like Discord himself had shown up to dump frosting on everyone, bucking classic." Another piece of donut fell down to join its frosted comrade in the dirt, but what the hay, he didn't have any problem being dirty. And being covered in frosting was way better than any alternative, like mud or grime. A stallion could always get creative with frosting, heh. But only in adult-approved places - not in the middle of fair grounds where every step caused dirt and sand to kick up and get stuck on the sticky residue liberally coating his pony self. No bucking way was he going to sit and watch the fireworks covered in Equestria-knew what. There had to be someplace nearby they could get cleaned up...
  23. [[ Thread is now semi-closed to avoid the number of characters getting too large to handle. Please PM if you'd like to join, but be aware you may not be added if the amount of characters remains unchanged and high. ]] He'd heard about the abundant spellpower of the single-horned ponies living in this land, but...even so, he had not been expecting something like...this. An overgrown forest, yes, the Zebras had warned him about that place. Very near the village he had deemed it best to settle nearby to, a small farming herd - community - nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland he and his sister had disembarked upon. Said forest supposedly did not bend to any magic, Unicorn or otherwise, and was an unforgiving beast, beyond even the skills he'd acquired in the Brackenweald. And there was too, or so he had heard, all too common mishaps from the various Unicorns who took the aether as a form of practice, manifesting it - what they referred to as magic - in ways he and his sister had only heard of from story, and legend. There was fact, there was story, and then there was...this. He blinked at the pumpkin. The pumpkin blinked right back at him. It seemed a genial sort of pumpkin, as far as vegetables went, and Daahir N'em supposed that didn't amount for much when, you know, vegetables weren't suppose to be genial at all. So unnatural a thing - when he'd first stumbled across it, skulking around the outskirts of the small town to get a better sense of the area, he'd been downright apoplectic with disquiet, certain that the vegetable had been some sort of cruel trick to play on the unsuspecting and unwary Abada. But even as he'd backed away into the tree line, no ponies had come rushing forth with jibes and pointed hooves, eventually prompting Daahir to take a closer look. A brief touch with his magic, too, revealed deep and embedded roots, far too deep to have grown on a short moment's notice. Far too deep for any normal pumpkin, at that. Daahir didn't wish to touch it - but at the same time, he couldn't seem to bring himself to leave it alone. Surely, it had been given unnatural life by some misinformed, or perhaps misguided, Unicorn...but then, why leave it out here at all? Why not destroy it? Though the Abada supposed, seeing the small eyes and wide smile on its, features, brought a certain amount of trepidation to bear. It was a lot more difficult to harm constructs that could mimic or impersonate emotion and pain, even if they couldn't actually feel either of those. So what could he do? At the moment...nothing, except prod at it a bit more with his magic, carefully and hesitatingly attempting to follow its roots, see if perhaps it had a certain source. Possibly an enclosed and heavily guarded pumpkin patch to return to, from now until the dawn of eternity, preferably.
  24. The sky was a beautiful with it's pastel pinks, dark purples, and vibrant orange all cast by the rising sun. A pink mare lay relaxed half submerged in a river that was very close to ponyville and she sighed happily enjoying the feel of rushing water on her lower half. It was rare when Candy Shimmer was allowed to just enjoy herself and the nature around her. Trying to become a popular or just a known singer was hard work and rarely gave her time to herself or even with others. She sighed once more at that thought, she's been in ponyville for a little over a month now and hasn't made a single friend. Tracing circles in the dirt with her hoof she wondered what she could do today to change that she could go to the local shops and chat with ponies there, but she doubted anypony would talk to her while they were busy shopping. She pondered more and more the best way to make a friend and came up with nothing that stuck out to her as a good idea. Rolling onto her side she sighed again and decided the best way to go out and make friends is to do just that go out and do it. By the time she decided what she'd do it was already a little before noon. She partially dragged and partially levitated her lower half to her wheelchair that an inventor made for her in Melodia before she left for ponyville. Ah Melodia she thought to herself as she trotted as best she could towards the center of town to decide her next move. Melodia was a lovely city with ponies and creatures alike. It was very nice and all but Candy felt like she had needed a change and heard the wonderful things about ponyville and just had to have a second home in it. She was closing in fast on the center town and felt herself begin to panic slightly, what will she do? Just stand in the middle of ponies and hope somepony will talk to her? No she'll have to be assertive and friendly. Open with the townsponies of Ponyville, so in her head she practiced what she would say. Hi! I'm Candy Shimmer and I'm a new here, would you like to be friends? She repeated this over and over in her head until she made it to the heart of the town, then the words escaped her. What will she do now? No pony would want to make friends with her! She was an oddball in a town full of ponies. Whatever was she thinking moving to a place so different from her home town. While all this was going through her mind she was just standing in the middle of the town eyes darting back and forth wondering what to do. Will somepony be her new friend?
