Haven't done a speed paint in a long while, so I tried my hand at a ruins/jungle type thing, based on an upcoming RP. About an hour and a half of work. Buildings are definitely not my forte...even ruined ones. I have trouble visualizing all the different divots and dips and wedges, so they're difficult for me. Kinda like how the jungle came out though, even though I ended up darkening it too much and hiding the tree roots along the path. Dunder © Dunder- 5 comments

Thus ends the epic ballad of Limi and Mei, who were brought together by sheer happenstance and stayed together through sheer stubbornness, force of will, and mutual acknowledgement of mistakes and faults. The Empire of Flowers will forever stand as a proof of their struggles, their heartaches, and their inevitable journey towards each other. (And then there's ten years down the road where their trials pale in comparison to the journey of marriage, but no one wants to read about the happily ever after, it's all about the drama of breakups and forgiveness leading up to reconciliation and eventually ending up together. Having spent a good deal of the summer gathering many herbs that come in season around the Everfree Forest, Zecora knew it was coming to the time of year that she might have a hard time finding certain plants in the woods or even in town. She needed to head into town and find what they still had in stock, especially in the flower department. While they would very likely not have any of the unique plants she needed, they are likely to have herbs, spices and flowers that ponies used every day for beautification and aesthetics as well as seasoning and such. Going over the list she wrote, to be sure she had little reason to miss anything, she packed for the trip and started on her way out of her hollowed out tree hut toward Ponyville proper. On the path she chose in order to head into town, she could hear much of the wildlife in the forest. It's cheerful tones and bright atmosphere boosted her mood which seemed to sag a little as the days grew shorter. The leaves being mostly gone now, after the annual 'Running of the Leaves" had been well underway for a while, she could see much farther than before. This also meant she was even less likely to find some of the things she was hoping for. As she thought on this, some of the sounds from Ponyville could be heard in the distance as the afternoon sun crested to the left, over the naked treetops she was now soon to exit. A satchel over her back and a cloak between her and the winds bite, she found the road and began the last and least troublesome, hoof of her journey. Making it into town was a simple task at this point, she began to formulate which place to head to first. She needed certain flowers and plants she's likely to find amongst the market stalls and more tea, as she had recently run out. Lemons, limes, grapefruit, apples, carrots, natural honey etc all of which had a strong medicinal or flavorful purpose, but also that she hoped she could find strewn about the cart and stall doppled and lively streets. She settled with getting a snack first, as she rounded the corner to the promising café there, ordering food and sitting for a short meal before her shopping would continue. (Comment with a description of the types of things your stall or store sells and I can bring us into dialogue from there. I actually know a good deal about medicinal herbs, plants and flowers as well as the properties of common fruits and veggies in medicine and cooking. Feel free to ask questions and explore what I can bring to this character, in the form of knowledge and education, as well as adding my own flare to her iconic rhyming couplets.) (If you are unsure how to approach the scene, message me and I'll gladly help us start things off or help you figure out how to approach in your own way. Sorry I'm so long winded, I'm just excited to finally be able to RP as a canon character again after so long. I'm also eager to present my unique talents, but I don't want to over express or "showboat" (I need to look up the etymological significance of that term, cause I'm now curious), instead I'd rather have meaningful and fun interactions. Ok everypony! I don't really know how to kick off an RP, so I'll just give a basic idea of what I had in mind. I was thinking the setting could be Fillydelphia, where Cakepop has set up a small bakery shop. I'm open to OCs (I actually prefer them!) and cast. I'm fine with any storyline, I'm not one for planning out a lot of details before I roleplay, so I would like to see where it just takes us! I would love a slice of life RP, but again, I'm open to mostly anything. To give you more of an idea of what we could do here, you can take a look at my character sheets! Excited to hear from somepony!

Hope smiled as she arrived at the trainstation with the reformed Sombra. Sure he still had quirks from when he was king (like his horn and dark magic), but she was the one who was able to calm him down whenever needed. Guards stopped them from entering until they saw she was a princess and had an invitation. "Excuuuse me, but i thought i was allowed to take a friend with me." She hissed. "We had expected someone other than...THAT" "well i had expected guards to be nice to a princess, but i don't get what i want either, now do i?" She passed through with Sombra, who had growled slightly. "I don't think they're happy to have me." She giggled slightly and he chuckled, knowing what she was going to say. "Well it is kind of logical on one hand...uh hoof. You did kind of enslave a whole empire. But on the other hoof, you're reformed. Or at least calmed down around me. So it shouldn't be a problem right?" "No it shouldn't. Doesn't mean i don't understand them." Just as she was about to say something, she bumped into somepony. "Oof. Excuse me. I was talking to my bf and wasn't paying attention." She smiled.

Howdy folks, So I did have an idea I was putting together for a bit of a Halloween role play, but my classes said "F That!" and now I'm a bit more pressed for time than usual. Anyhow, I still enjoyed the idea of a spoopy Halloween role play to really rattle our bones. If anyone's interested feel free to reply with your ideas or suggestions here, I'm actually excited to see what we can collectively churn out.

SOLO SHOW "Strange, ain't it?" extra 1 | extra 2 Roleplay Type: World Of Equestria RP Full Name: Solo Show Sex: Female Age: Young Mare Species: Pegasus Eye Colour: Yellow Coat: Dusty brown with black and light splotches on her legs. She got stripes dyed onto her hind legs because she enjoyed the edge it gave. She re-does it regularly. Mane/Tail: Her mane is usually kept straight, and it's long and black. Her tail is the same. Physique: Her body is slender, and she's pretty tall. Residence: Fillydelphia Occupation: Model Cutie Mark: Solo's cutie mark is a makeup capsule. It is often used to touch-up already done appearances, which is what she lives for. She always keeps one with her. History: Solo Show grew up in a single parent household. Her father, Mountain Dust, took care of her since her mother passed away when she was young. To Solo, her mother was absolutely breathtaking, and so she decided to do something with her life that was beauty-oriented. Luckily, she had the looks that ponies were looking for. Her father had a friend, and his friend had a wife that was highly respected in the modeling industry. Knowing his daughter wanted to get into modeling, he called in a favor and thus began her model training. She was happy she had the looks, and all that was left was the technique and brains. She studied hard, perfected her walk and eventually landed her first big show when she had just matured into a young mare. She got into modeling young and earned her cutie mark during first 'cat walk' in her pre-teen years. After earning her cutie mark, she began to take her career much more seriously. She has over 200 photos inside her modeling portfolio and holds her head high. Many of her peers perceive her as stuck up, but she is more-so just aware of what she wants in life. Under all her ambition, she's very soft and would enjoy the company of others if they gave her a chance. Her father raised her to be proud, compassionate and ambitious so she tries to live by that as much as possible. She does live on her own now, as her father is a perfectly healthy and lively middle-aged colt. Recently, she does modeling for a modern clothing line. She is very good at her job. The only thing is that she is not an incredibly approachable person. She always dresses her best and is usually just focused on her next show. Though she might not be approachable at first, she always smiles when someone speaks to her unless she's incredibly irritated.

I was going to see my pony friends by going in to the town, smiling as i walked in the cloudsdale cafe to get some food. for me and my pony friends to go on a adventure to a large hill past the forest to eat and have fun. before heading home he does a trick in the sky for his friends to end the day to get ready for flying school the next day.

Hope smiled slightly as she arrived in canterlot. She wanted to see Cadence getting married. She was so happy for them and she had left manehattan just for them. Sure, her home is in the crystal empire, but she had been helping Rarity with her boutique business and they had agreed on closing it until the wedding was over. She ran into the palace to find Cadance but she wasn't there. 'probably just preparing for the wedding'. she thought, leaving the castle and just proceeding to walk around the city. She turned a corner and bumped into somepony by accident. "Oops! Sorry! I was distracted.." she looked down, ashamed, folding her wings back, since they had sprang up in shock. (She's in her pegasus form)

Well now you have a central repository for all the maps and locations for the magical realm of Equestia and the lands beyond! This is the comprehensive location guide with maps and links to all regions. As with everything else this guide is open to future refinement and expansion based on revelation by show canon and created content by the users. A Brief F.A.Q For organizational purposes the world used for our World of Equestria and Canterlot Chronicles games is divided by catagories that represent geographical hierarchy: So what are provinces? A province is the top category that holds either a large geographical location or nation state. There are three provincial level sections: Greater Equestria - Which holds all the lands of the ponies. Aquellia - Home of all the Griffin territories. The Outlands - All the peripheral lands outside the first two provincial locations. Provinces as far as RP are concerned are top level forums that are simply containers for all the related regions (or sub-forums) for the sake or RP section organization. One never posts directly into the root of a province level forum. So what are regions? A region is a subsection of a province created to better organize the RP; they correspond to a geographical location within the Province. "So, I may of messed up big time, but it was all in good fun... for me at least. Though apparently, Fluttershy's friends didn't like the idea of having to find the pieces of her and putting her back together. At least she's still alive. Heheheh. Aw well, fun is fun while it last, but I was to be banished; instead of being turned to stone, I found myself in quiet a twisted universe. I had no idea that this place even existed, and to be honest, I don't think Celestia, Luna, and Twilight had planned to send me here. The look on Twilight's face before I ended up here kind of confirmed that. So here I am, in quite a strange world. With the little time I've been here, I've noticed that greed, destruction, and deceit grows strong. I should be loving it here, yet I feel odd. There's just something more to this all than what I'm seeing. I can't quiet put my finger on it, but it's like there's more than just this world too. I've also come to find out that I've changed in my looks; not too drastically, but I look more... feral. Where to begin, who do I talk to... and those bipedal creatures look really weird. No fur or hair except for on top of their heads; and they look ready for war. Perhaps I'll start there..." ----------------- Discord has found himself in the multiverse with little to no knowledge of what's going on. He still has all his powers at his claw tips. Will he use his powers to help or hurt this dimension; or will the lands of magic change him forever into the worst. Meanwhile, Twilight and her friends as well as Luna and Celestia will do all they can to get Discord back. Despite what has happened, they can not leave him in such an unknown place. His presence is at least needed on Equestira. As some of you might have seen on my personal blog, I have yet another rp ideal rushing around in my head. Here is the premises: The day had started just like any other, the denizens of Ponyville have begun their day just like they always do. Starting up the shops, going to school, making and going through with their plans, and hanging out with their friends. Twilight had begun her day as well with a new spell book, and a new project. Of course, Spike was by her side and aiding her with the project. When she revealed that she learned the spell to see into other dimensions ever since her experience with the mirror. Spike wasn't so sure about this at first, but that didn't make him stop helping his friend. It wasn't till Twilight placed in the last ingredient and cast the spell that something strange happened. A bright glow on the wood floor began to rise up, encasing the entire house in a bright white, then quickly changed into a dark blue. It was then that the blue changed into a surreal image of what seemed to be just between Canterlot and Ponyville, except there seemed to be a lot of differences from what the two were use to. They saw big, round, flying crafts in the air. Two in particular were the biggest out of the rest, having the names on each one; Luna and Celestia. The spell didn't last long and the image went away, but not before they saw their friends dressed in strange and interesting clothing. Twilight was utterly giddy at this discovery, so much so that Spike was beginning to worry that she would go even farther. Night had fallen, sleep had found Twilight and Spike as it did every night; it wasn't till the next morning that something happened. "Wake up, sugarcube." Spike heard as he began to open his eyes, seeing a familiar light orange filly standing over him, yet something was off about her. Instead of the smell of apples coming from her, there was a thick, mucky smell now, like oil. That was when he realized he realized that not only was she different, but so was where he was. He wasn't in Twilight's treehouse, but seemingly in the air, inside one of those flying crafts nonetheless. Now Spike had to find out how exactly he got here, was there a way back to his dimension, and how was he going to fit in with these mares? They looked like his friends that he's known since the birth of his life, but they looked completely different as well.

Caymellow Mallow traveled through the forest,she was lost,well,sort of. She saw a nearby tree and tried to climb up it. Her hooves carved into the wood,she used her wings to try and propell her self up with them. She fluttered up and landed on a branch,huffing and puffing,she sighed."Will I ever see anypony else in here,cause I hope I do,this is really scary," She muttered to herself,she then yelled out for the whole world to hear,"Helllllloooooo!! Is anyone here?? If so,please say something!" She bounced up and down on the branch,causing it to wobble and bend,causing sharp and distinct cracking noises as it split. There was a final pop,causing a huge catastrophe,she fell and hit her wings and side on the ground,she held onto her adominal as it stinged and new waves of pain flowed through her as she would move,she lightly removed her hoof,causing a new wave of pain to flow through her. She gently touched her side, a burning sensation tingling through her side and hoof,she lied there,"Is anypony there?!!" She yelled out. -
Flamewing walked around in her house. She looked up at the clock. She was worried. At 8:00 pm exactly, the CPUA would be coming to every pony's house to do the normal 'check'. Flamewing was quite normal to this check but not this time. The CPUA suspected something of her. They thought she was not normal. Its true. I'm not a normal pony. Flamewing muttered to herself. All of the sudden, the door slammed open.? "Is this the residence of Flamewing?" The tall bulky pony asked. Flamewing didn't reply. "Miss, please come down before we have to get you!" the other pony asked. Flamewing hurriedly rushed out her window and flew away. After landing safely on a hill she sat down for a rest. That was a close one! Flamewing sighed to herself.

I'll start right off by saying that I really do appreciate the staff trying to come up with something really cool. I know from my own RP experience that mega-events can be a lot of fun, both playing and running them. However, there have been a couple... shall we say, issues I've noticed in this year's Nightmare Night event. I'm not as frustrated as I was two days ago, when I posted a somewhat uncalled-for long and ranty comment on QuickLime's blog, so hopefully I can be somewhat fairer in evaluating what it was that didn't quite go right, at least in my opinion. The first thing, I will admit, is personal and subjective, but the fact is, I don't come to this site for Role Plays in that style. I have other sites where I go for RP's that are more adventurous or combative; Canterlot for me is a place for more relaxing, character-driven slice of life stuff. Mind, over the top sometimes, as befits its cartoon origins, but still in that mindset. That's important, you see, because the first thing you have to decide when writing a story is what kind of story you're going to write, sad, exciting, funny, etc. Everything else is designed around that. It's no different in Role Playing, or collective storytelling. All my characters were designed for the normal, WOE-style stuff; I hadn't had much opportunity to really think through what their capabilities in an invasion situation were, which made it difficult for me, and I think for quite a few others in the same boat, to strike a balance between being unreasonably effective and being a load. Of course, that brings me to the second point. Not everyone came into this event with the same expectations on what kind of story they wanted to write, and even in the framework of adventure stories, there are still different ways of setting things up. To get personal again, all the combat or adventure RP's I've been in had a basic assumption that all characters had been brought together to make a more-or-less equal contribution to a goal. Whether or not they got it was, in fact, dependent on their actions. Both they and their enemies went "all out," knowing the other would. Now, when we suddenly switched from Slice-of-life to Adventure, my entire mindset switched, too, even though I hadn't designed my characters for it, and neither had most of my fellows, for that matter. That wasn't true in all cases, however, leading to point number 3. There was a huge imbalance in the capabilities of each character versus the changelings. My older schoolcolt, for example, would probably not fare as well as a trained REA officer. But, I would feel that I was letting down the team if I didn't contribute, and I also would feel frustrated that others weren't either, even if it made in-character sense that they wouldn't. Again, this was because I was used to the idea that not making an effort would actually mean losing (even though that probably doesn't hold true here). As far as the actual fighting went, I still can't help but feel that it got to be a real mess at times. You generally had at least 10 players on the Pony side, and one staff member on the changeling side, with only one exception (The Invasion of Ponyville! thread). Now, this generally meant trouble in terms of god-moding, since a pony player's round might consist of between 15-20 posts, and even if a player didn't write in an automatic success, another might base their post off the assumption that they had. Naturally, the changeling player would think this unfair, since the players could overwhelm them in one round, so they had to write massive posts explaining why all of that didn't work. Of course, the pony players (this one at any rate) would think this unfair, because they put in multiple posts to accomplish nothing. This is generally why, in freeform combat RP's, a player cap and posting order really help smooth things along. Generally, a ratio of 5:1 of good guys to bad guys is about the maximum imbalance I would allow on the site I administer, just to keep arguments from arising. Again, though, this all assumes my own framework of combat/adventure RP's, and not every player when in with them. Some played the thing for laughs, others were content to explore the psychological breakdowns of pastel equines under stress until rescued by an inevitable Deus ex Machina. And you know what? All of those responses are perfectly valid. I realize that, and I respect that. But like I said before, the type of story you want to write is the first decision to make, and when you're sharing a thread with those who have a different type their writing, things can get frustrating. A lot of this, I think, could have been avoided if the staff had opened some OOC threads a few days before the actual invasion. Sure, it might have ruined the surprise, but it would have given them a chance to lay out what sort of story they wanted to tell, and give us all a chance to discuss with each other what sort of things we ourselves wanted to do with the event. I can speak for my own experience that the difference between "You cheap cheater!" and "Well Played, sir!" is one OOC thread or exchange of PM's. I think by now we're kind of over an awkward hump, and starting to figure out just what sort of stories these threads are actually supposed to be, and I'm able to have my fun with them again. I just think that with a little more forethought... well, what the heck, I'll say it: "THE FUN COULD HAVE BEEN DOUBLED!"

Mark was practicing his Flying trying to get his curve right. He was getting frustrated at all the times he had to repeat. He finally landed to the ground, "How can I be the worlds best flyer if I can't even gt my curve right?" he said with a huff. He soon saw you walking by him. His eyes starred at your but it seemed like you didn't even notice. His tongue was out as his wings began to flutter. He snapped out of it as he thought, "Who was that gorgeous mare?..."

Mass Effect Echoes: A MLP crossover RP Two years have passed since the defeat of the Reapers. The galaxy is a war-torn ruin – with every species still mourning for deaths beyond count and lost homes. A huge multi-species effort has been launched to rebuild that which was destroyed in the Reaper War. Mass Relays are being reconnected to the network; ruined home worlds are being rebuilt, colonies – some untouched by the war – are experiencing huge influxes of trade and refugees; developing into cities to rival some of the greatest pre-war foundations. But while the galaxy licks its wounds and prepares for a brighter tomorrow, those in a position of power know how fragile peace is. The Citadel still floats in Earth space – a dead station that stands as a morbid reminder of the price of victory, the new council are struggling to maintain peace. Despite the best efforts of the council to dispel the rumors by blaming pirates and faulty navigation equipment - even they fear the worst. The Reapers are coming back. -- ------------------------------------------ Mass Effect: Echoes will be a slow and serious RP, with a focus on storytelling. Posts are expected to be descriptive, with sufficient scene building, setting explanation and thought out dialogue and emotions. Players are expected to work together - using their characters as tools to assist in telling the story, creating and reacting to conflict and building relationships with others. When writing players should keep in character - show, don't tell. And while you can express inner thoughts and emotions, other characters don't know anything that is not said. it is recommended that players stay in constant contact with others, using either Skype or the Canterlot PM system. Using Gdocs to write scenes together is also recommended but not compulsory. As a more story-based RP, players are not expected to maintain stats or any kind of RPG-centric number management. Players are however, expected to react to situations realistically. The Rules You may have up to two characters. Both however, will require separate applications. Make sure you use both evenly. You may talk to other players about the story, and brainstorm ideas and execute them. But please keep it reasonable. No threatening the world or causing anything that can alter the path of the RP on a large scale. There will be no turn order, so don't be a glory hog. This is a team effort, and a good player shares the limelight. Everyone will get the chance to shine. Keep combat realistic. No, you're not capable of killing twelve mercs single handedly with a pistol. You may NOT maim or injure another players character without that players permission. Everyone's characters are expected to take a realistic amount of punishment from combat scenarios however - there's a doctor on the ship so don't worry about getting hurt!
