So, I was thinking: Twilight has been a alicorn for a while now, correct? I'm just going to bust it out now; she's going to be living a very miserable life. Why do I say that, you ask? Think about it. Just like Celestia and Luna, she's going to live forever (or a very long time at least) and she's going to watch her friends grow up, grow old, and die; yet she will still be alive and well. Now I know what you're thinking at this point; Xan, that's terrible to think of. It is, it really is, but it's true. I wonder, did Celestia and/or Luna have any close friends growing up, or did they know at a young age that it was their fate to watch the ponies of Equestira grow and change and die? To watch the world grow and change, never to be the same as it once was. When it gets late, I think of this stuff all the time; the bad side of everything. Of course Twilight could always make new friends, but those will grow up and pass away as well in time(Hopefully due to old age and not by another incident). These are my thoughts, leave me a comment on what you all think. - Xan

Hey Everypony! Midnight here with a crossover I'm REALLY REALLY exited for! Anyways, this is a Dragon Age Origins crossover, so if you have played the game, you are set! If not, that's okay, just post any questions you have here, okay? So, I shall now write the lore for this RP: Long ago in ancient Equestria, before the time of Celestia or Luna, a dark force of evil unicorns did the unthinkable: they defied their Maker by attempting to break into the heavens and steal immortality and power from him. In a rage, the Maker left, and never came back, but not before punishing the unicorns. He cursed them to walk as the Darkspawn, not living, but not dead, evil beings who ravage the land. They only appear every few hundred years, and when they do, it is in swarms. These swarms of Darkspawn are called blights. Ever since the first blight, a group of international peacekeepers known as the Grey Wardens have battled the Darkspawn by taking in the tainted blood of the Darkspawn and putting it into their own bloodstream. A simple ritual keeps them from dying from drinking the blood, and having the blood in their body allows them to detect the Darkspawn if they are nearby, and gives them the unparalleled abillity to destroy the tainted souls of the darkspawn, ensuring they never return. Unfortunately, the Wardens haven't the resources to kill every single darkspawn, and if a Darkspawn attacks a pony, the victim too becomes Darkspawn. The Darkspawn also had a leader, the Archdemon, which appeared as a night-black Dragon, and came once every blight. A blight continues until the current Archdemon is slain. This is the tale of the 4th blight. This is the tale of: THE GREY WARDENS Okay, now that that's out of the way, a couple more points of lore/background for this RP -Unicorns have been treated rather unfairly since the betrayal of the first Darkspawn. From birth they are taken to a tower within their district, called the Circle of Magi. This is supposedly to keep them from what is known as blood magic. Blood magic is basicly when a unicorn spills his/her own blood to summon demons (yes demons exist here) and use them for different purposes. The problem with this is it makes the Unicorn nearly defenseless against possestion by demons. Once possesed, a unicorn becomes an abomination, a puppet for the demon. The demon amplifies the unicorn's power and uses it for their own twisted purposes. While not inherently evil, it is the most powerful, most dangerous, most unpredictable, and most unknown form of magic. -Unicorns in the circle (known as Circle Mages) are guarded closely by Templars. Templars are essentialy "holy" knights appointed by the church (or Chantry) to keep order. To counter any rogue mages that rebel against the Circle/Chantry, Templars consume lyrium, the esscence of magic in mineral form. The lyrium gives them resistance to almost any kind of magic. Templars are playable characters, by the way, so if you want to be a Templar who travels with the Wardens, that is completly acceptable, even encouraged. -Apostates are unicorns who were, by some way or another, managed to stay out of the circle. Essentialy fugitives, the Apostates are persued by Hunters, Templar knights who have been assigned the duty of finding apostates and putting them away in the Circle. Apostates are playable characters as well, so once again, if you want an Apostate who travels with the Wardens, that is acceptable. - As seen in a lot of RPG games, your character must have one of the cliche 3 classes. Below is a simple breakdown of each: Warrior: A class of strength and brute force. Often using sharpened hoof guards and leg strength to fight, warriors can deal major damage with one well placed kick. Sometimes they also use lances or small buckler shields attached to their lower front legs. Often preferred by earth ponies. -Rogue An agile, stealthy class, rogues rarely, if ever, confront an enemy directly, instead using hoof-mounted crossbows/blades to dispatch foes. Given their natural agillity and flight capabillities, this class is often preferred by pegesi. -Mage A magic wielding class, mages use different kinds of spell to either distract enemies or harm them depending on the mage. Because of the fact unicorns are the only species able to use magic, all mages must be unicorns. However, not all unicorns have to be mages. You can have a unicorn warrior or rogue if you wish. And that my friends is just about everything you need to know to get this party started. For the sake of convenience, lets keep it down to 2 groups traveling seperately, that way nopony gets confused as to what's going on. Right now there are 15 slots open for the RP, so feel free to sign up with the character sheet below:
