In other fandoms, remixes of theme songs, collaborations on popular artists, and even originals works by individuals can sometimes lack personality of the person who made it. In the pony fandom, anyone who has ever made a remix to a song that gets a few thousand clicks on YouTube, or someone who gets original work published on bandcamp, is automatically put into a long list of brony musicians. And for the most part, we all remember them. It makes me wonder if some day, some of the artists we thought were cool, or as cool as a YouTube account makes you, turns manestream and actually ends up doing something that the whole word can recognize, and not just bronies. My thinking is that it could very well happen, and sooner than most would think. Episode 5: Griffin the Brush-off https://soundcloud.com/jackle-app/griffin-village-winter-gilda Winter (Gilda) JackleApp Vocal Orchestral I'll admit, that I'm not usually the type of brony that responds well to tear jerking from media groups. I am, however, a fan of well-organized tellings of the story not heard. The story about the bad guys and their viewpoint of everything going on. A little perspective is all it takes to begin to understand why Gilda acted the way she did in the episode when she was rude to Rainbow Dash's friends. So let's picture it then. You're a griffon who went to a flight school, probably in Clousdale, and met Rainbow Dash, someone who would end up being a longtime friend and then to a friend who wasn't who you thought she was. And maybe, at the same time, Rainbow Dash had some growing up of her own to do, as she was still cool enough to enough fun flying times with Gilda, but lacking of the bad girl montage that Gilda would show whenever she acted with ponies she did not know. There is no excuse for being rude or mean, or steal, or frighten. And then again, maybe that's the griffin way. Thanks to Gilda, everything we know about griffins has been defined by the way she acted in this episode. JackleApp counters this thought with the idea that Gilda may not be such a bad girl after all, and is poorly understood. And if you disagree that Gilda deserves any sympathy whatsoever, then I will be watching your eyes very closely when we get to talking about Trixie. Episode 6: Boast Busters https://soundcloud.com/great-trixie/trixies-good-side Trixie's Good Side PinkiePieSwear Glitch You know, this is only minorly relevant, but new bronies now-a-days, probably see Trixie first on Equestria Daily before they do organically in the show. Hm. Interesting. Anyways, while we're not drifting too far away from redemption of villain characters, it's important to note that Trixie is the true queen of the redemption story, even before she got one, sorta. PinkiePieSwear, who became one of the earliest bronies to solidify his name into the fandom pool of names your should know, made a glitch remix of events of Boast Busters, and titled it her 'good side'. Not sure how that was possible, and even still, the song by itself doesn't really convince me that there is any redemption of her to be found. But the title of the song alone implies that this is what many people would have wanted. And they want to watch her and Twilight's interaction while it happened. Little did bronies know at the time that an episode was already in the writing stages and would eventually release in season 3. But I don't think it's over. There are so many angles Trixie's story can be turned that there will be near an infinit supply of fiction applied to the blue unicorn, both in story and in song.

Equestria and the Staff of Fate There exists a legend so obscured and grand that even myth considers it myth, that parents don't even bother telling their foals it's story because even to their ears it sounds absurdly silly. But in Equestria there is truth to every lie, an answer to every riddle, a key to every lock and fact behind every work of fiction. Equestra forgot about the Staff of Fate. Fate did not forget about Equestria. Across the land exist relics, each of which are powerful all their own and worthy of the many legends told about them. Some of these legends are true and others false, yet all are insignificant in their singular nature when compared to what they do together, forming the Staff of Fate. Somepony has figured it out and is going after these artifacts viciously: Griffon and Diamond Dog mercernaries, a pet dragon, an extremely competent Pony force with the bits, smarts, and intelligence to back it up. What does this shadowy figure want? Is the Staff of Fate real? If so, what does it do? No one knows, but a small group of the finest minds and adventurers in the land know one thing: Anypony so obsessed with something of such mythic power must be stopped at all costs. It's just a shame personality conflicts stop them from working together, but still- all for two and two for Equestria! Hey there and welcome to the OOC topic for Equestria and the Staff of Fate, an epic comedy/adventure/mystery series that will span many, many interconnected threads and involve many characters, locations, situations and foes. There will be two core groups of adventurers involved, but they will be heading across the land. As they hit a new area, characters in the area will be able to join in on the fun. I am also not opposed to groups starting their own storyline that fits into this arc, but it has to at least adhere to what we have set-up. This thread itself is still a work in progress and as such expect this to be updated many, many times before we launch the series of adventures! Questions are welcomed. New locations are as always welcomes.) Relics: Orb of Overwatch- The Orb of Overwatch's legend is that a paranoid princess used it to investigate her subjects for rebellion. This is truthfully what it does by itself, as it can pierce the heart and soul of any pony to discern the truth. The Iris of Immortality- Used by the followers of a prince to keep their poisoned prince alive. Said to grant immortality and perfection o form, the Iris of Immortality may or may not grant it. However, it does help give the staff it's power... Saxon Staff- After trying to take the throne from his brother, an evil prince attempts to wield ultimate power by the creation of this staff. He is overthrown before he can complete his task, and the staff is placed near the Iris of Immortality. Unlimited magical power. The Ruby Claw- Links the Orb and the Staff. By itself, it is a fearsome weapon said to be wielded by the Griffon Warlord who defeated Commander Hurricane and stripped her of her Helm. The Amulet of Time- An ancient artificat rumored to have been created by Unicornia in an effort to stall the onslaught of winter so it could evacuate more unicorns from the old lands. It allows its user to do with time what it wills, going backwards, forwards, stopping it, speeding it up. However, the user feels the same effects, making it equally dangerous to the user unless... The Faye- No one knows what it is, what it means. Together, these things come together to form the Staff of Fate, a device which allows its user to channel all the soul searching powers of the Orb and the time bending capabilities of the Amulet. He can pierce the souls of all creatures at all times forever, and with the aid of the Iris of Immortality and the Saxon Staff, has the capability to do what he pleases, when he pleases, forever and with no way of stopping him. He becomes fate incarnate. No one knows who created the Staff of Fate or why, and if someone once had it, how in Equestria did it get away from him? And if someone wants to get it now, then why- and can they be stopped? Enemies:(Used only past the prologue) Diamond Dog Mercenaries- They'll work for gems, bones, or the sheer thrill of the hunt! Dull, but dangerous. Griffon Mercenaries- Dishonored military officers mix with criminals who escaped from The Pit to create a dangerous and highly motivated group of fortune seekers. Led by Gavin Stormwing, Major Brenda Razorclaw, and a hyper intelligent crime lord called The Director. Merlot: Hailing from a prominent family of grape farmers (hence his name), this smoothly-dressed archaeologist obtains antiquities and sells them to private collectors. When not getting his hooves dirty (which is rare, since he uses other ponies to do his dirty work), Merlot can be seen enjoying the pleasures of high-society life. While many do-gooder treasure hunters revile the stallion, Merlot sees such ponies as careless hypocrites whose methods needlessly damage archaeologial sites. General Pummel: A honorable high-ranking officer in Equestria's Honor Guard, Pummel takes all percieved threats to Equestria's harmony seriously. As an admirer of the Griffin military, the general has associated in the past with a couple of his opposite numbers in Aquellia, who recently suffered disgrace due to an embarrassing incident. Should these ex-griffin officers suck up their pride, they will find General Pummel to be a valuable ally, just as long as he won't have to betray Princess & Country. Purple Stars- A large relic and antique 'collection' service with both a public and criminal facade. While it is a well-known and very respectably competent acqusition service that has recovered and protected relics and museums from harm, it has run into some difficult times and under new ownership has found itself used as hired hooves in the search for the relics. Some of its best and most seasoned agents will be deployed against the heroes in the name of profit and adventure, while sub-groups devoted to more sinister backroom dealings will do what needs to be done too ensure the success of their masters. Lady was bustling about for the visitor that was to arrive any minute now! All the farm chores were tended to, the apples bucked, the store front closed, and the house smelling of delicious baked goods! The guest bedroom in the airy loft had been cleaned to perfection! Overall she was ready for her visitor to arrive, and what an unlikely house-guest it was indeed! That Gryphon whom everyone else seemed to dislike at the Iron Pony event had seemed to get along beautifully with Lady and a friendship was in bud between them, which was strange because Lady was a very pretty and proper pony, not to mention an earth one to boot, so it was strange that a cocky gryphon and a polite earth pony seemed to mesh together so well. Maybe it was opposite forces attracting, maybe it was the fact that Lady didn't scold her like a child, or maybe it was some form of destiny linking the two together... one could never be sure but the two had hit it off and now that the event was over Lady was looking forward to Gilda's visit! Since they were near Canterlot she had gotten them two tickets to an airshow that she was sure Gilda would love! It was for an all gryphon flying team and they were very hard to get! After that she figured they'd just relax and do whatever they wanted. "I hope she likes it here" She said to herself. -

Three days had passed since the botched operation in Lefferded. That was more than enough time for one, her mother, Dyne, to snark as much as she wanted about how the adventure business was going, and two, for Aposemati (insistenly known as "Miasma Vice") to reflect on the situation. The first and most important fact was that she did not like to lose. And she'd not only lost, she was humilitated on top of it. Being hung by her tail feathers in the market square early in the morning after having been whacked upside the head with a 2x4 had left quite the sour taste in her mouth. That Diamond Dog gang had done a number on her, and payback was on her mind. She eventually swallowed her pride (a needed sacrifice, she figured), and went to her mother to ask for advice on how best to deal with it. "Strength in numbers." the great dragon said, not looking up from her tax papers. "When you can't do it, someone else surely can." And that stuck enough with Miasma that she took out an ad in the paper for the next day with the majority of her allowance. There were posters and stickers left and right by Thursday morning. Adventurers, Mercs and Heroes alike, welcome! Gryphon offers cash and excitement! 'Do you like treasure? Are you more inclined to knock someone's brains out before listening to them? Can you even do that? Miasma Vice is offering an opportunity for you to find out the answers to all of these things today! Look for a navy blue gryphon in a suit in the Wisebeak pub early in the morning. Be ready to kick some serious tail for some serious reward!' The headline was set, the article was distributed, and a cluster of drinks sat in the center of the table in the back of the dark of the pub. The only source of light apart of the doorway and the lamps at the front was a lit candle in the center of the bottles on the table. Miasma had ordered several expensive and imported brews for any possible hires that would show up. She also wore on of her more classic outfits. A simple closed black sport coat, a white button-up dress shirt, and a black tie. Dark shades covered her eyes from view. "And now, we wait." said Miasma, leaning back in the curved seat. -
Ashton, my unicorn from Rockwington, might be an option. There aren't so many parallels between the two as interesting contrasts. Sure, they're both from Aquellia but beyond that they're quite different. He's actually rather un-accustomed to being around so many ponies and while he might not show it he gets a little frustrated with some of the wishy washy ones. I could see them having some good arguments. And since neither seems the type to back down or admit they're wrong it'll likely become the best kind of argument. He actually ran into Gilda once at the running of the leaves. He was a little disappointed at how she choked at the end, but hey, there's always next year. He'd actually be interested in a training partner. Though getting Gilda to agree to train with a lame grounded pony might be a little difficult. They could run maybe run into eachother elsewhere. He usually is in the mountains around Canterlot delving into the caves for gems but he's probably going to try and take a trip out to the area under Cloudsdale. One of his friends from back home is supposed to be training there but he doesn't really know how he's going to go about getting into contact with him.
