Cutie Mark

Main Character

Character 2

Character 3

Character 4

  1. (Read thoroughly to insert yourself organically.) In the deepest part of the Everfree Forest, centered in a glade with fresh flowers and ferns, the sun shines, cresting atop the encroaching canopy of the gathering limbs and leaves overhead, and there sat a lone silhouette. The draping and flowing cloak on the form shifted as the figure rose, a light breeze, peeling back the hood, revealing the starkly colored mane of a zebra mare, gilded rings drooping from her ears and falling around her long neck. A brightly colored flower in her teeth, she finds a place for her prize in her satchel, as an abrupt sound startles the nearby fauna, alerting her to activity nearby. A puzzled expression across her brow, she asks, to none in particular, but the breeze, itself, mayhap, "What kind of sounds might this be? I'd hope it won't be trouble for me." A determined look creeping over her features, she adds, bravely, "I'll investigate the disturbance, see it clear, I'll soon know if it is danger that looms near." She begins to trot with purpose toward the sound, hoping to find what might be in the shadowed wood. (It's a short start, but I'm sure we can move this into quite the story.)
  2. Having spent a good deal of the summer gathering many herbs that come in season around the Everfree Forest, Zecora knew it was coming to the time of year that she might have a hard time finding certain plants in the woods or even in town. She needed to head into town and find what they still had in stock, especially in the flower department. While they would very likely not have any of the unique plants she needed, they are likely to have herbs, spices and flowers that ponies used every day for beautification and aesthetics as well as seasoning and such. Going over the list she wrote, to be sure she had little reason to miss anything, she packed for the trip and started on her way out of her hollowed out tree hut toward Ponyville proper. On the path she chose in order to head into town, she could hear much of the wildlife in the forest. It's cheerful tones and bright atmosphere boosted her mood which seemed to sag a little as the days grew shorter. The leaves being mostly gone now, after the annual 'Running of the Leaves" had been well underway for a while, she could see much farther than before. This also meant she was even less likely to find some of the things she was hoping for. As she thought on this, some of the sounds from Ponyville could be heard in the distance as the afternoon sun crested to the left, over the naked treetops she was now soon to exit. A satchel over her back and a cloak between her and the winds bite, she found the road and began the last and least troublesome, hoof of her journey. Making it into town was a simple task at this point, she began to formulate which place to head to first. She needed certain flowers and plants she's likely to find amongst the market stalls and more tea, as she had recently run out. Lemons, limes, grapefruit, apples, carrots, natural honey etc all of which had a strong medicinal or flavorful purpose, but also that she hoped she could find strewn about the cart and stall doppled and lively streets. She settled with getting a snack first, as she rounded the corner to the promising café there, ordering food and sitting for a short meal before her shopping would continue. (Comment with a description of the types of things your stall or store sells and I can bring us into dialogue from there. I actually know a good deal about medicinal herbs, plants and flowers as well as the properties of common fruits and veggies in medicine and cooking. Feel free to ask questions and explore what I can bring to this character, in the form of knowledge and education, as well as adding my own flare to her iconic rhyming couplets.) (If you are unsure how to approach the scene, message me and I'll gladly help us start things off or help you figure out how to approach in your own way. Sorry I'm so long winded, I'm just excited to finally be able to RP as a canon character again after so long. I'm also eager to present my unique talents, but I don't want to over express or "showboat" (I need to look up the etymological significance of that term, cause I'm now curious), instead I'd rather have meaningful and fun interactions. I'll gladly work with you in any way you need to get started. Feel free to message me. Thank you for your contributions, understanding and help in this.)
  3. SOLO SHOW "Strange, ain't it?" extra 1 | extra 2 Roleplay Type: World Of Equestria RP Full Name: Solo Show Sex: Female Age: Young Mare Species: Pegasus Eye Colour: Yellow Coat: Dusty brown with black and light splotches on her legs. She got stripes dyed onto her hind legs because she enjoyed the edge it gave. She re-does it regularly. Mane/Tail: Her mane is usually kept straight, and it's long and black. Her tail is the same. Physique: Her body is slender, and she's pretty tall. Residence: Fillydelphia Occupation: Model Cutie Mark: Solo's cutie mark is a makeup capsule. It is often used to touch-up already done appearances, which is what she lives for. She always keeps one with her. History: Solo Show grew up in a single parent household. Her father, Mountain Dust, took care of her since her mother passed away when she was young. To Solo, her mother was absolutely breathtaking, and so she decided to do something with her life that was beauty-oriented. Luckily, she had the looks that ponies were looking for. Her father had a friend, and his friend had a wife that was highly respected in the modeling industry. Knowing his daughter wanted to get into modeling, he called in a favor and thus began her model training. She was happy she had the looks, and all that was left was the technique and brains. She studied hard, perfected her walk and eventually landed her first big show when she had just matured into a young mare. She got into modeling young and earned her cutie mark during first 'cat walk' in her pre-teen years. After earning her cutie mark, she began to take her career much more seriously. She has over 200 photos inside her modeling portfolio and holds her head high. Many of her peers perceive her as stuck up, but she is more-so just aware of what she wants in life. Under all her ambition, she's very soft and would enjoy the company of others if they gave her a chance. Her father raised her to be proud, compassionate and ambitious so she tries to live by that as much as possible. She does live on her own now, as her father is a perfectly healthy and lively middle-aged colt. Recently, she does modeling for a modern clothing line. She is very good at her job. The only thing is that she is not an incredibly approachable person. She always dresses her best and is usually just focused on her next show. Though she might not be approachable at first, she always smiles when someone speaks to her unless she's incredibly irritated.
  4. BLAKE BREEZY reference 1 | reference 2 "It's always a party, ya know?" Roleplay Type: World Of Equestria RP Full Name: Blake "Breeserk" Breezy Sex: Female Age: Young Mare Species: Pegasus Eye Colour: Crimson Coat: Orange with tattoo'd stripes on her front right hoof and left back hoof. Her blonde freckles are natural. She also has black markings painted onto her neck every time she performs. Mane/Tail: Her mane is naturally blonde, but she's had it streaked with pink highlights and fully dyed in some other parts. Her tail is the same, and she cut it a bit to match her mohawk style. Physique: Her body is fit, she keeps herself in shape and is average height. Residence: Las Pegasus Occupation: Rockstar Cutie Mark: History: Blake Breezy is an only child. Her parents used to be in a band together before they retired. Her mother, Heart Strum, played the guitar while her dad, Golden Cord, did the vocals. She grew up watching them live the rockstar life until they eventually settled down. Now, she aspires to be like them. She inherited decent guitar skills and a beautiful voice from her parents. They are proud of her and always support her from afar. Blake entered a talent show with her own original song when she was a filly, thinking it would be good experience and practice. The song was about her mother and father, and all the crazy tales and experiences they had. She sung with all her heart, by the end of her performance she was so exhilarated that she didn't even notice her cutie mark. She noticed when one of her friends in school pointed it out the next day. She freaked out and spent the entire day singing. Blake is very outgoing, wild and free. She's a kindred spirit to all rock n' roll ponies alike. She is welcoming despite her misfit appearance and tries to be approachable. Ponies around her think she's tough but deep down she's a big softie. She puts her all into each and every performance. Blake Breezy is a wild and welcoming spirit, ready to lead whoever decides to come along into her spotlight.
  5. WHITE FEATHER SHE HAS WINGS JUST WANTED TO SHOW OFF THE CUTIE MARK Roleplay Type: World Of Equestria RP Full Name: White Feather Sex: Female Age: Young Mare Species: Pegasus Eye Colour: Rich Brown Chocolate Eyes Coat: White with hints of cream undertones, along with light creamy zebra stripes due to a genetic mutation. Mane/Tail: Her mane is long and delicate but often kept in a fancy updo, while her tail is usually flicking about. She is part-zebra after all. Her mane and tail are a rich pink with soft pink tones. Physique: Her body is light and delicate, but slightly lanky to give her a graceful willowy appearance. She is tall for a half-pony. Residence: Solistice Heights Occupation: Fashion Designer Cutie Mark: History: White Feather was born an only child to her two beloved parents Brute Stripe and his wife Ivory Wings inside their quaint, spacious home in Solistice Heights. Her mother was a fashion designer and her father worked as a royal guard. Due to being born so close to the woods, a young White Feather was always fluttering around on filly wings, introducing herself to the various animals that lived there. Her mother and father never worried. Though with the animals, she seemed to have a natural bond and due to spending so much time quiet and still she was able to observe so many details. One day she decided to preserve the memory of them, and brought her art book out with her paints. She watched, painting all that she saw. By the end of her masterpiece she was surrounded by her animal friends, and she'd blushed softly since they seemed very happy with her art, she scarcely noticed the cutie mark that appeared on her flank. It was a winged paintbrush, the paintbrush symbolizing her eye for detail and artistic nature, while the wings symbolized the graceful and quiet nature that let her get where other ponies could not. She had a slightly hard time making friends in school because of the fact that she was merely shy, but the ones she did make were long lasting and dear to her. After schooling, she got into fashion design instead of painting. Her strange and unique designs got her recognition from fashion designers all around. Due to so much alone time as a child White Feather is very quiet and very sensitive in nature, but this slowly changed as she grew. After a while, she grew less shy and grounded. Instead of breaking out into tears she tries to fix a problem immediately or discuss it so she can understand. Though shy in nature, White Feather never stands idly by and lets others be put down or bullied, especially for their differences since she's always felt a little bit like an oddball. She is a gentle soul with a strong will and her sunny outlook and cheery disposition will take her far one day.
  6. (ignore the text, it was for a comic I gave up on) (art by me, I only own Sugar Malt) Roleplay Type: TBD Name: Sugar Malt Sex: female/mare Age: adult (a few years younger than Shining Armor) Species: pegasus Eye colour: brown Coat: off white Mane/Tail: tan(ish) and light blue Physique: well built and muscular, but short Residence: Canterlot Occupation: Royal guard Cutie Mark: a light blue shield with a red lightning bolt Unique Traits: freckles oh her wings and face Likes: giving and taking orders, smoothies/shakes/ice cream, surprises, cute fluffy animals Dislikes: being treated like a child, flirts, letting others down Extra: one of the first known female royal guards History: As a filly, Sugar Malt's mother passed from a sickness and was left in the care of her father, one of the many guards in Canterlot. Under her fathers guidence, Sugar grew in intelligence, strength, age, and talent. As a young adult, she finally managed to get her Cutie Mark. It happened during a lession at the School for Guards in Canterlot. Durring the usual flight rounds, she noticed something off on the streets of the town. She flew down and found that ponies had shut themselves in their homes to shield themselves from a massive magic fight between two unicorns. Thinking about nothing but the safety of the townsfolk and the unicorns, Sugar jumped between the two, her wings shielding her body from their magic. Most pegasi would have been fried from the blast, their wings singed, but not Sugar. Unscathed, she broke apart the fight although, the unicorns had pretty much stopped to stare at her. That day, she learned that her wings were like shields, they could withstand almost anything. She also earned her Cutie Mark, but that was not the most amazing thing. The captain of the Canterlot royal guard had seen her bravery and selflessness in the fight so on top of all the other things, Sugar Malt promoted to an official Royal guard. Character Personality: Stubborn, quick to think, brave, a tad boring. Sometimes treats others like a kid. Character Summary: Sugar Malt is a stubborn yet brave pegasus mare who joined the Royal guard at a young age. She tries to see the best in others, but will not hesitate to serve the law and put troublemakers to justice.
  7. Buck stopped the cart just outside the town, looking at the sign. He figured it would be best to park here where the road was rather than try and find a place to park it in town. He looked over his shoulder at the mare slumbering in the cart. She was still in her armor, and likely uncomfortable. Nodding to himself, he pulled off the road and into the open pasture. Bracing the cart against a rock and putting the brake on, he moved to the back and pulled out their tent. It only took him a few moments to levitate it in place and secure it. One it was up, he levitated the sleeping mare and took her into the tent. Helping her to get out of the armor and lay back for a proper sleep. That done, he came back out and picked up the guitar case from the cart. HE had no worry of any creature bothering the cart and tent. They were small, barely noticed, and protected by a few small enchantments. As he walked into town with the guitar case on his back, he looked about for a place to set up. He needed a clear space to set up and play. He could leave the case open, or drop his cap on the ground to collect the coins if ponies threw him a few. He was fairly happy with the way their life was, and gladly accepted their lot in the world. Finding his way to the central fountain in town, he levitated the case to the ground and left it open. Sitting on the rim of the fountain basin, he turned the guitar for a moment before closing his eyes. His horn lit up, casting a single spell to amplify the music and his voice to let it float all over town. The last thing he did was levitate a harmonica next to him, but not to his lips. Instead he used his magic to play it in time with guitar, allowing him to play both at the same time. As his hooves began to dance over the strings, he sang softly. A gentle song of love and peace. It was an old song many ponies would know, and many likely loved. As his voice carried over the town, he began to notice ponies drifting his way. They were attracted by the music, listening to him play and a few even tossing a coin or two in his open case. His voice was low and gentle as he smiled and sang to them "See the west wind move...Like a lover's sooooul upon the fields of Barley...Feel her body rise, when you kiss her mouth...among the fields of gold... I never made promises lightly, and there have been some that I've broken... But I swear in the days still left, We'll walk in the fields of gold..." The stallion sang clear and clean like fresh wind. His body rocking softly back and forth as he played. His eyes dancing over the crowd around him. His pale green eyes gleamed brightly as his silver tangled mane blew in the breeze. His dark gray coat seemed to soften and sway over his muscles as he moved a little at a time. He was a large stallion for a unicorn, and much more muscled than most. He was used to physical labor. But as he sang, one could tell just how much joy and life there was in him. How much love he had for the world around him.
  8. Character Application: (All art and characters by me) Roleplay Type: Name: BlueBook Sex: Female Age: Young adult (around the age of Rainbow Dash) Species: Pegasus Eye colour: Blue Coat: Blue Mane/Tail: Dark brown with light brown streaks Physique: Shorter than the average pony, not by much but she is considered petite Residence: Ponyville Occupation: teacher/childrens book author Cutie Mark: An open book with a paintbrush behind it; the paintbrush has green paint on it Unique Traits: Mute; Had a spell cast over her to help her speak through magic bubbles that appear over her head Likes: Mares and stallions, food, kids, anything creative/artsy Dislikes: Loud noises, lewd stuff, other adults (most of the time), being active (sports and such) Extra: Always wears her glasses (can't see without them) unless she's crying, hardly does anything special with her mane, only lets specific friends call her Bookie, has a pet phoenix that her younger brother gave her History: Born to a pegasus stallion named Value Scale and a unicorn mare named Music Note, BlueBook is the eldest blood child of the couple. Music wasn't able to have children due to a genetic fluke. Thinking that they had no other choice, the couple adopted a young bat pony whom they named BlueBolt. Bolt was only a fe months old at the time and has no memory of his birth parents. A month or so after adopting Bolt, Value and Music were approached by a powerful unicorn who heard about their predicament. He offered his services, as he had been working on a spell that might help. Desperate for a blood child, Music agreed to be the unicorn's test subject. Many spells later, it was done. Music was finally able to birth a child. Because of the unnatural way, however, when the child was born something was different. The spell had affected the baby girl that later became BlueBook in a strange way. The primary feathers on her wings were a different color than her body and strangest thing of all, she could not speak. When the unicorn that helped Value and Music learned of their daughter's strange condition, he granted them one last favor. By casting a spell on the baby, making thought bubbles appear over her head when she needed to speak. "I cannot give her a voice," he said. "But, this will surely help her in life." That unicorn was never heard from again. BlueBook now lives as a happy young pegasus with her adopted elder brother BlueBolt, their younger brother Blue Phoenix, and their parents. Character Personality: (BlueBook is a ponysona) BlueBook is a naturally laid back pegasus with a wild imagination and a big heart. She loves to help her friends, mostly because she's scared that if she doesn't spoil them, she'll loose them forever. Despite not being able to speak like everypony else, she loves to talk. In fact, get her talking about something she's interested in and you'll never hear the end of it! If she seems clingy, it's because she tries her hardest to love everyone, but cannot bare the thought of losing them. Character Summary: A pegasus mare born without the ability to speak found a way to exceed the expected by becoming an author and a teacher. Her friends mean the world to her so she often showers them with attention and gifts, thinking if she doesn't, they would leave her.
  9. Hero Name: (Doctor?) Dissonance Powers: Cartoon Physiology: The powers given to her by the chaotic being known as Discord. A magical ability limited to her own body that allows to to bend, twist, and annoy (but never break) the laws of physics and reality… so long as she remains expressive, bouncy, and cartoony. While acting as a hero Dissonance’s powers allow her to survive just about anything so long as she remains goofy or playful and doesn’t express any form or subtle emotion. While her powers are active she is capable of defying gravity and walking through the air (so long as she doesn’t realize she is walking on nothing), Can be set on fire only to be covered in ash afterward, Can be crushed by incredibly heavy weights and get back up as a paper thin version of herself or suddenly looking as if she’d become a living accordion. She has also found she can carry a multitude of things in her mane, be inflated like a balloon and move and incredible speeds when overly excited. While all of these powers have proven useful in her recent hero career they are all tied to her mental state and while they allow a form of immunity to death while in her toon state, She can still be incapacitated or knocked out by overwhelming force, being outsmarted or having to play along with jokes of another more jovial hero in some way or risk becoming entirely vulnerable again. When she is in her Toon state, it is signaled by her suddenly growing on large sharp tooth, her irises turning red, sclera turning yellow, and her mane shifting to a more… creamy color. Due to limited social interaction Dissonance is still having… trouble understanding others yet still desires company and companionship. This makes her very susceptible to any villain skilled with mind games or any sort of emotional manipulation. Magitechnology affinity: Without her powers, Dissonance is still very intelligent and has an inherent knack for anything technological or magi-tech. In her assignments for the daughters’ she was in charge of making gadgets and devices for their operatives as well as monitoring their magi-net presence to do their work. Once she exposed most of the order to the government she was allowed many perks including access to some of the latest tech the outside world had to offer and so she began designing support items for other heroes in addition to starting tinkering with golems! Backstory: In the not too distant past a pair of ponies would have a daughter, not long after their birth this daughter would be taken. This filly would go on to have a very strange life, having been taken at random along with several other newborns by the mysterious order known as the Daughters of Discord. The daughters of Discord as their name implied were a group of ponies who worked to bring themselves closer to the chaotic knowledge and power of the being known as Discord. For a long time their activities were kept in shadow by various strange circumstances and the degree of success that their more senior members had in regards to gaining anything similar to the spirits power had been kept a secret not even the sentinel or the Equestrian government could decipher. Back to the foalnapped filly though… Her early life consisted of many tests trials and treatments. All of them designed in strange and almost incomprehensibly random tasks that once completed without getting caught seemed to lead to strange chains of events. As this filly rose through the ranks of the organization she would come to learn more and more until her very first mission. A job that once it had been completed through a small country into a terrifying state of anarchy. Having learned so much about the group and with the weight of guilt from her first serious dip into chaos… she took her time during some operations to come into contact with an agent of the EG. Due to a growing talent for magi-technology after gaining her mark she managed to find a way to send hm a series of messages that exposed a majority of the daughters’ safehouses, caches, capabilities and soon the group was brought to the brink of ruin. It was then that Discord himself came to her. At first she was horrified but soon that feeling of dread was overtaken by confusion as the spirit gave her a round of applause. Discord had said that while he’d helped out the daughters’ for a great deal of time by granting them a degree of minor chaotic power he had stopped ages ago because the group had become in his own words: Dull. He thanked her for this interesting turn of events and and with a shake of her hoof bestowed onto her a gift. A set of powers that she could use however she saw fit… so long as she followed the rules for their use. Allies: (Deus ex) Machina: Dissonance’s formerly estranged cousin who she re-acquainted with after getting into magitech development… and realizing she was competing with him. Their relationship was rocky at first but now she’d do anything for him and anyone he cares about. Learned her real name from him. Chaser: One of Dissonance’s attempts to tinker with an old damaged pursuit golem used by the canterlot police department. She repaired and refitted and customized the high tech golem to perfection and one night while she slept, Discord popped in and bestowed the machine with sentience. Currently is treated like something of a daughter or a younger sister by her ‘creator’. Z.E.L.D.A. : WAs one of the scientists responsible for her friend Zelda’s current state… is working regularly to try and either get her back to normal in some way or return the ability to sense things to the griffin. The Sunlight SEntinel (sort of): Thanks her valid worries about the remnants of the daughters, The government of Equestria has requested the sentinel to allow her into the academy due to the tight security. Most of the time she tends to randomly pop into classrooms to alleviate some boredom or help out in some way, one of her favorite past-times being a glorified training dummy. Enemies: While her betrayal greatly weakened and destabilized the Daughters, She has heard nothing of what happened to the more influential members of the order known as the “True daughters”. These ponies were already blessed with strange chaos inciting abilities that could wreak havoc almost anywhere they saw fit until it was almost too late to stop them. Even today Dissonance is completely horrified of the idea of them ever getting to her… and even if they don’t she is constantly worried about some random follower coming along to try and get her while she sleeps or in a vulnerable moment. Discord himself… is someone she both fears and respects, if only for him granting her powers. The fear part comes from his very nature in that she isn’t sure what he might do to liven up her life through some subtle or unsubtle form of mischief. Notabililty: Isn’t really known very well as a hero, and due to her somewhat discordish appearance while her powers are active she is more than often assumed to be either a villain or some sort of random rogue who pesters heroes. Her public persona as a tech mogul and developer: Bevel Gear is more widely known thanks to her work with magi-tech projects and assistance to the hero academy.

  11. OK so I have a wedding for two of my characters coming up. They live in Kastrot now, under the guidance of Heart Stopper. (Heart Stopper is of course invited) and wanted to know if any other ponies would be attending. There are a few slots open and I hope several of you want to come. Stormstride is now a minor noble and looking to flaunt her new position and wealth a bit. She's sent out invitations to ponies she has had dealings with. So any pony want to come and see?
  12. From the album: Pony Refs

This lovely piece was created by our own Discord player RexDraco. (is best discord ever) A bit of background on this piece. Stormstride is a bit of a bitter pony toward most others. Indifferent toward their suffering or emotional state until it directly impacts the well being of one of her own family or direct friends. She's seen several battles, and finally had enough of the inadequate armor that the normal REA soldier is issued. She commissioned a private suit of armor. Not made of the golden alloys as the normal armor, but this was to be made of Silver, Moonstone, and Malacite. A gleaming silvery metal alloy with a slight green hint in the reflection pattern. Each large circle is a gemstone she had placed into the armor. Each stone is enchanted to draw in any magical energy around it, and channel it up for her use as a weapon of shield. She can store excess energy in the gems, or use them to absorb a fair portion of an incoming unfriendly spell. While she will still take an impact from that spell, its power will be greatly lessened. Looking to her hooves there is a set of horseshoes permanently mounted to her with hard steel screws going through both sides of her hooves. Painful at first yes, but once healed it did not bother her. These shoes provide her a single enchantment. She can channel her magic through them to immediately summon her armor and various weapons to herself. This provides her with a slight, but distinct advantage in the event a peaceful situation becomes aggressive. "Never let your armor get dirty. Never let it collect dust. Never leave your weapons soiled. Because when you fail to take care of your armor and weapons, they will return that favor in kind," Stromstride Cloud, speaking to her honor guard during training.

  13. Character Application: Roleplay Type: World of Equestria Name: Tongue Twister Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Pegasus Eye colour: pale blue, wears glasses Coat: dark storm cloud grey, with white socks (bottom third of legs are white) Mane/Tail: cyan, with white tips. Kept short but carefully styled. Physique: rather athletic, despite being an academic ('sound mind in a sound body', or 'Mens sana in corpore sano') Residence: Manehatten Occupation: Translator of artifacts at the Manehatten Museum of Natural History, roving equinologist (one who studies pony cultures). Cutie Mark: Scroll, with two arrows forming a circle, letter/symbol at each gap between arrows. Earned when she managed to calm down some customers at her dad's shop (one stallion's grasp of Prench was nowhere near as good as he thought it was, while the mare he was talking AT refused to deal with him until he spoke properly. He, of course, 'knew' he was speaking correctly, and just made things worse). Unique Traits: cloud sculpting for a hobby, building scale models of ancient buildings/ruins for work at the museum. Almost always has her saddlebags with her at all times. Left side has items she uses (like her mother's 'lucky' deck of cards, and a fair deck of cards), the other side is for Ace and Deuces. Has two pet domestic rats (Ace and Deuces) - Ace is almost a chocolate bareback (white on belly, legs, sides; chocolate brown head, neck, and shoulders. Ring of color on wrists disqualifies him from class), Deuces is a cocoa Down Under (cocoa colored on top, belly white, with streaks of cocoa). Know a few tricks : 'hands up !', 'Bang ! (play dead, twitchy back leg is them hamming it up), 'Trade Ya !' (shows them snack, then points to a shiny object), 'Home' (taps left front hoof twice - they return). Rats do much better when have at least one other cagemate; these two are brothers. Tongue Twister does NOT care for cats one little bit ! History: family was from Las Pegasus, but they moved to Manehatten when she was young. Shady Dealer - her mother - worked as a dealer in the Las Pegasus casinos who sometimes supplemented her income with some Three Card Monty with the rubes, er, tourists; her dad was a businessman that spent a lot of time there. Moved to Manehatten so less traveling, steadier income when Shady got pregnant - felt her foal deserved a better life. T-Twister lives and works in Manehatten (where most of the museums are), with ocassional trips to the Crystal Empire (it was away for a thousand years, so is good for historical research), Fet Loch (where a new language may be emerging), or anywhere an extinct language may be found. Spent a few years trekking through Tenochtitlan jungles to catalogue the various dialects still in use. More than willing to do field work (enjoys it greatly in fact - will listen to anyone use a language she doesn't know to record the nature and essence of it. Plus most ponies use gestures and body language, which have no written records). Is NOT into tomb raiding like the rest of those 'adrenaline addicted adventurers' - she'd rather talk to the natives to better understanding of the local languages and culture and ASK them politely if she can try to read the glyphs inside than try to break in. Parents work at import/export shop (dad works import/export, mom is a shipping agent - arranges methods of transport), so was exposed to many different languages and things (learned early that one item can be referred to by many different words - almost as if those foreigners had a different word for everything !) Managed to figure out a foreign language by listening to it and noticing the regularities and patterns and rhythms of it, which is how she earned her mark. Learned new languages just for the fun of it all through high school. Visiting a museum as a senior in high school, noted all the artifacts with unknown symbols on them - they were in languages no pony spoke anymore (and few could read). Such an idea intrigued her to no end - she felt a burning desire to KNOW what ponies (or whatever) from so long ago found important enough to commemorate by carving messages into stone. She spent years in college, taking every language class she could as a linguistics major, and eventually learned enough to read those stones that had fascinated her so long ago. (her hero is Jean-Francois Champonyion, who deciphered ancient Saddle Arabian hieroglyphics from the Vale of the Pharaohs over a century ago). Currently works as a translator (for either the museum, or her parent's company), or as a technical writer (translating complicated jargon and techno-babble into Equestrian so others can use inventions, and students can actually UNDERSTAND newer concepts takes up most of her time) 'You think a seventeen page instruction manual is hard to follow ? It was fifty three pages of obscure, dense script and scattered notes when I started working on it !' Character Personality: Extremely outgoing and adventurous; from studying long gone civilizations, she feels that EVERYTHING is temporary, so tends to enjoy life as much as she can, while she has it (a lesson she learned from her pet rats over the years - even with the best care, they only live two or three years at most. So she gives them the most joy she can in the time they've got). Knows a little about everything, and is (for good or for ill) not shy about sharing what she knows. Character Summary: A roving linguistic equinologist, hoping to find either the next Big Discovery (or at least a new exhibit for the museum). More interested in cultures and languages than treasures.
  14. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria Name: Rua Hanari Sex: Female Age: Young Mare Species: Kirin Eye Color: Bright orange Coat: Rua's coat is mostly a very off-white grey, her scales and draconic features being a darker grey as well. Mane/Tail: Wears her mane in a style that would be considered somewhat outdated in Neighpon. One could easily describe it as a type of bowlcut with asmall cut tuft of a mane that pokes on top almost like a stem. Her horns are fairly long but groomed and filed regularly. Physique: Despite appearing rather small, Rua has a well toned and trained build: The type one would associate with speed, agility, and finesse. Residence: None Occupation: Rua has no steady occupation, mostly identifying herself as a Ronin: A masterless Samurai. She tends to wander all across the lands, honing her skills in order to live up to the code she admires... she has however had to take a large amount of oddjobs in order to make ends meet. She has had experience as a farmhoof, a waitress, and even a delivery mare. Cutie Mark: A swirling, wisplike ball of magical smoke. When Rua was young and only just started following the code left for her by the stranger, She and her mother had run into a recurring problem. One day they made their way to the closest town nearby the forest (which was still quite a distance off) and there was a Qilin there who told her that he was camping on this route and if she wanted to pass she'd need to pay him a toll. The qilin seemed a bit older than her mother and when she tried to pass by him he was able to stop her with some magic he exhaled from his maw. Rather than take the offense lying down, Rua got up and challenged him to a duel to allow them to pass if she won with her own magic could subdue him... and promptly lost. This wasn't the last time she saw that rude stallion however, as she came back the next day determined to fight him once again... and again lost. Each day before she came to challenge him again she would train her breath through meditation and exercises as best she could. The attempts to beat the stallion continued for a week and one day she again had managed to lose. This time though the stranger was impressed by her as in their little spat she'd manage to actually bruise his leg: not badly, but enough that it was visible. Out of respect for his little opponent he agreed to stop being in their way and told her to seek him out again someday. That day as she laid in the grass breathless as that qilin walked off... she sat buck up and noticed a mark emblazoned on her plot. Portrait: Unique Traits: Breath Magic Prodigy: Rua has a natural talent for the magical breath of the native born creatures of Long Guo. She regularly trains it and hones it through her meditations and training alone. She is entirely self taught , however and as a result only knows some very simple spells that can conceivably assist her: Most of them she learned from the book on Bushido the stranger left her. Enchanting her equipment with her breath, she can strengthen the threads on her kimono to make it tough as iron, give her blunt training sword an invisible cutting edge, strengthen her body, breathe fire, and able to levitate things with her breath magic so long as her respiration is un-impeded. Quick Study: Rua learns things very quickly. In regards to her magic she is very good at learning new spells when she has enough practice. Ninja and Samurai Training: Since She was a filly, her clan trained her well in martial arts. From her years of training she is a very capable combatant with tools she is familiar with and even keeps one of her old favorites at her side at all times thanks to it’s versatility: A kusarigama. In her travels she is perfectly fine using her old wooden training sword, regularly enchanted by her own breath to be sturdy enough to combat normal steel. History: A time ago there was a mare who was part of a secretive ninja clan in Neighpon's most infamous woods. This mare took a great and clever warrior as her lover, but circumstances drove them apart: Him needing to find his destiny and her devoted to her sisters in the clan. In the end the mother bore him a daughter and that daughter was Rua... at least that is what the little kirin had been told growing up. The part about the secret ninja clan was true as she can attest. Being raised up in clan Aokigahara in the Forest of the Forsaken was far from easy. Ninja training in one of the most inhospitable areas of Neighpon could never be a trot in the park. Still she wound up excelling and working hard to understand the necessary skills in order to excel at what was likely to be her trade in the future. Even with all the training that occurred, she and her mother would often leave the forest. To this day Rua isn't fully sure why they would venture out so much more often then the other mothers and daughters in the clan. Deep down Rua suspected it might have been a hope from her mother to see the warrior she told her daughter about walk down the road, but she always said it was so she could socialize better since she'd heard one of the fillies in the clan had fainted when put only a few inches away from a colt when she went on her first mission. The trips outside the forest were very varied in the types of kirin, ryuma, and ponies. One trip to the mountain wound up being possibly the most important day of her life. A simple trip to retrieve an herb was made into a deadly night when a blizzard blew in. Rua and her mother had become lost in a vast landscape of white. The end of their story seemed like a certainty for the small family, but a stranger in the snow retrieved them just after they had passed out. They spoke softly, had a … curious mane style and had an old sword at their side. This stranger nursed them both back health. With the filly to keep her spirits up they wove tales of a samurai, a traveler who wrote the wrongs and fought caribou in ages past... by the glint in her eyes he gave her book on the ways of Neighponese samurai code. ON the morning when both she and her mother had shown to be healthy once again, he had left only that book at the mouth of cave they'd rested in: a sentence circled in it's pages. “Righteousness is it's own reward.” In her admiration, Rua began to style her mane in shape of that of the wanderer who saved her and her mother's life that day... and wound up taking offense to any slight against the style. Around this time she began to diverge a bit from the clan, feeling as though the way of the ninja... while not evil was not the way she wished to follow. Instead she focused on training her breath and skills with the tools of their trade but not so much the philosophy of sneakiness and striking in the darkness. Her gradual gravitation away from her clan's primary methodology, while not severing her bond with her sisters did weaken it. She grew to enjoy her trips to the outside more and more. On one trip to a nearby town she wound up meeting a curious colt who she only knew as Ishi-kun. He was a strange Kirin who was accompanied by armed guards but he apparently decided to try and talk to her after she'd scurried away when some group of fillies and colts chased after her when she beat them in a game of horseshoes. Ishi came to her defense, and after she finally was able to get a word out past her initial nervousness of having to say thank you to both a stranger and a colt... the two wound up spending most of the day together exploring the town and evading those guards. Eventually the two had to part ways and all that Rua could say was that she hoped she'd see him again someday. Days turned into months turned into years and Rua's desire to travel only grew as those increments of time did pass. She only took a small pack of supplies, a wooden training sword, a simple robe and her self taught breath magic with her. Her sisters took her to the edge of the forest and she bid her mother goodbye, promising to return and visit. So her travels began and continue. Rua's wandering has many purposes for her. She believes that her experiences on the open road will help her grow as a person beyond her talents, yet she also hopes that each hoofstep on this long road may bring her to the face she encountered growing up... and perhaps the one that is partly responsible for her being born. Neighpon has been her primary wandering ground but she has begun work to try and travel beyond... Personality: Above all else, Rua aspires to embody the virtues of the way of the samurai. She strives to be kind, loyal, dependable, and willing to defend or hope those in need in whatever way she can. While on the outside she seems as calm as a still pond, inside she is fiercely devoted and has a remarkable persistence that pushes her to continue her travels. There are occasional lapses in her almost overly polite nature in which even she can be pushed from anything that would try the patience of anypony. Her most vulnerable moments can usually be seen when she is truly feeling the weight of her travels bearing down on her or if she finds she has been deceived. One of the most notable outbursts of her inner passions would seem to occur anyone disrespects, belittles, or insults her manestyle: due to the significance of the one who inspired it in her life, she treats such remarks as gravely as if someone had spit on the legacy of her entire family. Those who have spoken ill of it know now that her reaction varies from a calm restrained fury to an out and out rage that a caribou would envy... and usually once the damage is done she will apologize profusely for her actions and work to pay off any debts owed if reasonable. In regards to odd quirks, Rua has a very vivid imagination. Often times in tense situations she will imagine various ways in which a situation can go and ponder on the ramifications of the actions she could take.. only to be jarred from her trance by a frustrated 'hey!' from whoever had been talking to her. Due to her upbringing by a secluded all female ninja clan in a forest, Rua has little no experience with members of the opposite sex. She is completely capable of speaking to them but occasionally will let a compliment slip, and can be incredibly nervous especially if they are around her age and are physically adjacent to her. Perhaps taking her philosophical following of the samurai, Rua has adopted a somewhat archaic way of speaking in her native tongue as well as Equestrian. At the end of sentences she will almost always end certain statements with “That it is” or some variation thereof. This has seemingly become second nature to her as even when members of her own culture say the formalness of her speech is unnecessary she will continue with this verbal tic even after trying to restrain herself. Rua Can also be rather critical of herself, when she makes a slight against someone she will often go beyond what is necessary if she considers it her fault. One of the reasons she currently only carries a wooden sword instead of a real one is because she does not believe she truly deserves to wield one yet. Summary: Rua is typically a calm and polite mare of Neighpon. Raised in an infamous forest by a secretive clan of ninja she chose a more honorable path in that of the samurai after one saved her and her mother's lives in a bad blizzard. Now on her own with only a momento from home, a training sword, a rucksack, and some basic creature comforts to her name she travels the land: trying to grow as a warrior and a person. Her skills with many different types of weapons and the breath magic of east make her quite a force to be reckoned with, but she is not the type to show it off as that would go heavily against the code she follows. Her time on the road has granted her more than a few skills that are useful for a few occasions and most of the time her biggest worry is finding a place to sleep and some food to eat.

Made some new art of bevel since she's been loosening up a bit thanks to some new influences. As of now she's working on some new projects that could be useful to more than a few people. A certain stallion who makes use of her creations may soon find himself being asked to assist her in the testing of one of her newest gadgets. Let's hope this stallion won't be too busy on his honeymoon. ;)
  17. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria Name: Berry Punch Sex: Female Age: Full-grown mare Species: Earth Pony Eye colour: Purple Coat: Lavender Mane/Tail: Burgundy Physique: Voluptuous; Berry’s a curvy mare and proud of it Residence: Ponyville Occupation: She runs a small shop selling both fruit juice and wine. Cutie Mark: A bunch of grapes with a strawberry. Sho originally got her mark after an incident where she asked her parents for an increase in her allowance. Instead of just giving her the money, her mother insisted on her actually learning how to make some herself, by working alongside the family produce business. She suggested juicemaking, which the young filly tried, and soon found that she had a talent for, blending different fruits into new combinations that were very tasty and popular. The increased business from both the product quality, and the cute filly selling it, were more than enough to get her both the desired income, and her cutie mark! Unique Traits: Despite her common, unsophisticated manner, she has a cultivated taste. Berry can pinpoint what kind of grape a wine is made from, and usually from where the grapes came as well. History: Berry was originally born in Canterlot, to a pair of earth ponies who sold produce to the city-dwellers. Her father had worked his way up from running a small street cart to the status of respectable middle-class shopkeeper alongside his wife. Despite his own hard-working nature, he tended to be a rather doting father, much more inclined to indulge his only daughter rather than inculcate his work ethic. While this was balanced by the efforts of Berry’s mother, as a foal she was given more leeway to play and have her way than many of her peers. This didn’t prove to be much of a problem at first; young Berry was as willing to help around the house and shop as she was to get into trouble as a young filly, which was fairly often in both cases. Nonetheless, after getting her cutie mark, a fairly steady future seemed set out for the young mare, either taking over or branching out of her parent’s business. And it wasn’t as if that would necessarily make her unhappy, either; she enjoyed running a business, bantering with customers, and convincing them to leave with just a little more than they intended to buy. However, a few curveballs were set ahead of Berry as she grew into a mare. First off, there was no denying that Berry had grown up to be a very attractive mare, who could catch the eye of any passer-by. And in Canterlot, these passers-by can be very high up indeed. Her parents were not blind to the possibilities this could open, and hence would both allow and encourage her to pursue a social life that could bring her into contact with all classes. Secondly, at one of these little get-togethers, Berry discovered and developed a taste for wine. Like most ponies who were new to the stuff, it had a tendency to go to her head. Thus, her early adulthood was full of increasingly wilder parties with the scions of the upper class, opening the gates with her looks and ostensibly there to promote business contacts. Sooner or later, this lifestyle was bound to catch up with her, and as it turned out, the consequences came rather soon. After one very busy and poorly-remembered night out, Berry found that she had become pregnant. Who exactly the father was remained uncertain, but it was telling that several prominent families of unicorn nobility were willing to pay good child support money to keep the whole business quiet. And they did pay; Berry’s parents made sure of that. Truth be told, both of them felt a little guilty that their own pressure and ambitions had led her to this. For Berry herself, the experience was a sobering one, in both the literal and metaphorical sense. In time, they all came to the conclusion that the best course of action was for her to move to another town, one with a lower cost of living, and use the money gained from keeping quiet to open that other shop they’d talked about. No sense leaving a single mother without any source of support, after all. After some deliberation, they chose the town of Ponyville as a quiet but promising place. They’d all come down to visit, and found the town to be particularly welcome to outsiders, even those with less than stellar paths, priding themselves on being good neighbors and supportive of newcomers. Berry could not think of a better place to raise a foal, and so was rather eager to get started! The money paid for a small house and a market stall, again where juices could be sold to refresh the passers by. However, some trace of her old life stuck with her, as Berry also branched out into fermented juices, bringing in good wine at affordable prices to her now-fellow citizens. Soon, the mare gave birth to her daughter, little Ruby Pinch; prime competitor for cutest unicorn filly in the world, as far as her mother was concerned. Although, it had to be said that Berry did make some effort to make sure that Ruby didn’t go down her own path; teaching her from the outset to regard all ponies as equal, no one worth impressing more than another. She couldn’t be prouder of how the little one is growing up, and her business is doing well. By now, Berry is seen as one of the fixtures of Ponyville life, always willing to pour a little out to sample for her customers, even picking back up a few of her old flirtatious ways with particularly nice ones, and generally enjoying village life. Recent incursions by Princesses, monsters, and magical mayhem notwithstanding... Character Personality: Berry Punch is an open and friendly mare, a loving mother to her daughter, and always willing to talk with her customers. She has a good eye for business, despite her easy manner, and is always putting a few bits aside here and there for her daughter’s future. She tries to strike a balance between encouraging a star-striking ambition, and keeping a level head of practical, protective realism about her. With other adults, she is friendly, sometimes outright flirtatious. She has rather developed than lost her good looks, and she is still not afraid to take advantage of them to get traffic into her little wine and juice shop, though she’s rather more careful about moving past business to the personal. She’s an active participant in Ponyville town life and events, and has grown to love her second home even more than her first. Again, magic and mayhem notwithstanding. Character Summary: A loving mother, friendly and flirtatious shopkeeper, and active Ponyville citizen.
  18. Name: Free Fall Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Pegasus Eye colour: Black Coat: Black Mane/Tail: Smoke Gray Physique: Slender Residence: Mobile cloud hut. This small hut is light enough that Free Fall can pull it around like a cart, moving it from place to place. Occupation: Stunt flyer Cutie Mark: Clouds with a zig zag line between them. Free Fall was a free loader, always ready for a good time, and avoiding work actively. She enjoyed risking her life for a cheap thrill, which usually involved her ending up in the hospital afterward. it was during one of her early stunts while skipping school that she found herself on the higher clouds. flying a spiral around a particularly dangerous and angry looking storm cloud she caught a bolt of lightning as she got too close. it dazed her, but also sent her flying off in a new direction, where she had to dodge other smaller storm clouds. When she finally landed safely she was cheering and carrying on about how great the thrill was. Some of her friends caught up to her, and noticed her new cutie mark. exclaiming how she was such a great stunt pony. Unique Traits: Refuses to do any actual work. Actively moves her home from place to place to avoid working. Arrogant of her abilities. Reckless, and always ready to cheat death again. unconcerned with her own life, nor the lives of any pony around her. History: From what Free Fall can remember, she ran away from home. She can't remember where, but she ended up running with a group of street ponies. Their were a tight group, causing trouble and avoiding work and responsibility. But as time passed, and the group grew older, all but Free Fall gave up the "free life" to settle down and be happy. Free Fall herself, laughed them all off, and continued her work. She "borrowed" some clouds from various areas, and built herself a small hut she can tow around. A vagrant by all means, she has no income other than what other ponies share with her, or she pinches from an orchard when no pony is looking. She lacks all respect, both for others and herself. This includes authority, which she has fled from several times. More or less, she is considered a nuisance than a threat. Character Personality: Carefree, happy go lucky, energetic yet lazy. Selfish in her wants and desires. She cares little for the hard work of others, when she can pinch a bit off the top she figures they will never miss. Character Summary: Free Fall is a vagrant pony, always on the move. She has no true friends, no family, and no concern. She does not concern herself with rules or laws, merely shrugging them off as the notions of other ponies trying to control the world. Her lack of faith in all other pony kind leaves in a fairly lonely place, though she shows no signs of it making her upset or sad. She, in fact revels in being the "sole rebel against the system" though she has no clue what system she rebels against. Nor does she know how it even works. Her crimes are petty. Mostly pilfering small bits of fruit or backed goods from unattended carts and orchards. Her only serious offence is running and evading the guards that attempt to apprehend her. Careless to others thoughts of her, she lives the "free" life.
  19. Name: Hoshi “Nagareboshi” Shirogane Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Pegasus Eye Color: A minty green color that matches her mane. Coat: A slightly washed out caramel color. (color: http://tinyurl.com/jbbo56n) Mane & Tail: Her mane is a minty. Almost ethereal looking green with streaks of slightly darker shades of the color dotting it, kept in a slightly messy, wavy style. At the ends of her mane it seems to curl up slightly when it grows particularly long, thankfully she tends to cut it just above her neck. She is almost never seen without her characteristic, forest green cap, a school colt’s hat with a pin in the band: the pin being the grinning face of a fox. Usually her mane is pretty neatly swept back beneath her hat but every now and then some bangs form from the more unruly locks. When the visor of her cap is off one can see she has a solo lock of red in her mane in the form of one unruly bang that seems to droop between her eyes, when her hat is removed sometimes several locks of hair can cover one of her eyes entirely. (Hair color: http://tinyurl.com/z7qb9xx) Physique: One of the first things one might notice about Hoshi’s height. She stands slightly shorter than the average mare. Not small enough to be comparable to a filly, but perhaps a very young adult. Her build is very sleek, agile, and toned looking. The muscle she’s developed and trained regularly having a surprising amount of strength to them despite her comparatively small stature. Residence: A medium sized apartment in the watertrough district. Occupation: Golem Trainer at the Polohama Dome Cutie Mark: A shooting star with a shining whistle at the front and three glittery tails following behind. One day during a sleepover with a friend, they saw her and Kuzu doing their little routine and recommended they try for a mini golem fighting club. The club mostly consisted of enthusiasts of the massive battles held in the dome off the coast, which up until this point Hoshi had never really been at all interested in. She only had a limited understanding of the rules in that the overall goal was to either force the opponent out of the ring or leave them unable to continue. In her first bout against one of the challengers her age she lost quite thoroughly. Her opponent using a heavily armor but hard hitting model that knocked Kuzu out of the ring and walked away with barely a scratch, Kuzu however took a great deal of damage and needed some repairs done. Deeply sore and worried about her friend's well being, she was originally fine never going back. Kuzu on the other hoof seemed to keep wanting to drag her back there. It took a lot of effort on her golem's part but soon she relented and came back, but this time with a strategy. In the last battle she attempted to play it in the same manner as her opponent and simply push him off ring, This time she tried a new method. Kuzu Drew in close and then when the other golem tried to wrap it's arms around her ducked away and hopped backwards, only to shoot forward like a spring and deliver a strong kick that pushed him farthe back. Unlike the previous bout which ended when kuzu was caught in its grasp and then blown across the ring, The Fox golem bounced about in quick bursts, each quick kick she landed pushing her closer and closer to victory and soon achieving it with only some minor damage to Kuzu's hind leg. Despite the damage, Hoshi and Kuzu were elated. Amidst the excited cheers of classmates and unfamiliar faces a small flash of magic and her mark had appeared. Unique Traits: Trainer of Kuzunoha: Trainer of one the age’s most popular battle Golems, Kuzunoha. A lighter weight Golem in the shape of a red fox with some modifications made that allow her to switch between running on all fours and standing upright in a fighting stance. The material Kuzunoha is composed off are not as hard as some of the tougher armored golems in the league but her speed is unprecedented, aided by a powerful core crystal that can dramatically increase the golems attack speed in short doses that can be used to devastating effect against even the better armors golem’s of the league. When entering this mode the increased burning of magical energy gives Kuzunoha the appearance of extra tails depending on the multiplication of the striking speed, when in this state Kuzunoha’s color seems to shift from red to a golden yellow. It’s armor is noticeably harder around the “paws’ on either pair of limbs. Martial Artist: Since she was young, Hoshi had been interested in the martial arts. DEspite the family’s Dojo in Ryushima not being terribly popular, being taught her ancestor’s fighting style and blending it with her mother’s knowledge of other forms of martial arts, Hoshi created her own style and is constantly attempting to evolve it further. Even then she cannot really say she calls it a style so much as a philosophy… Regardless of the details, It has given Hoshi impressive awareness and keen reflexes. Golem Trainer Prodigy: Thanks to the nature of her talent, Hoshi is very good at connecting with and bonding with Golems. Kuzunoha and Kuzu are the ones she has the strongest bonds with, but she has a knack for being able to get on the good side of most of these magitech constructs: be they big or small. History: A small apartment in the district of Polohama known as “Tech Town” , That was where Hoshi's story started. At that time the Shirogane family Her mother was a martial artist, her father a Golem maker: he sold the smaller pet models in a shop on one of the less busy streets. When she was born, her parents noticed a star shooting across the nightsky. Taking the event as a sign, they named her Hoshi: Star. Hoshi as a child had a fervent interest in three things: Yokai, Martial arts, and Golems. This Trinity of interests are among the things that shaped her. Since she was young she would practically beg her mother to tell her stories of some of the oldest stories about the Yokai. Her favorite breed of those mysterious creatures were the kitsune. While her father had a soft spot for the mighty Okami, Hoshi thought the cunning and tricky fox was far more interesting in the stories. On one of her early birthdays, Hoshi was given a small, red, fox shaped golem. She named the little one Kuzu after the kudzu plant, a legume she had a strange fascination with: Seeing the plant as a symbol of unending growth and versatile uses. The filly and Kuzu were an inseparable pair growing up, the little golem being an inquisitive but loyal companion. Many of the hours in her fillyhood that she spent watching the martial arts tournaments held and goofily mimicking the movements of the fighters she rooted for, her companion moving in sync right beside her. Once her cutie mark came in she took to the idea she felt it presented with an impressive momentum. Her highschool years were somewhat turbulent as she pursued her recently set goal. Club participation was mostly in the martial arts and golem trainer's clubs... and also the Ouendan. In the former she learned the more scientific aspects of hand to hand combat in many different forms. In the latter she made a small circle of friends that would eventually become her crew. Many nights of her high school years were taken up by the debates between her and team as they tried to figure out what Golemic design they would enter once they were old enough to enter their first tournament and finished saving up enough to build a full scale battle golem. Many ideas were thrown around but due to the insistence of the two candidates who wanted to be the trainers of the group and in the end it was decided on by vote: What golem design they would go with and who would train it. The vote was overwhelmingly in Hoshi's favor... the design being, of course, a fox. Some of the components of Kuzu's design were incorporated into the new Golem design and soon the team decided that since in a sense Kuzu was where this new Fox golem came from: She should be called “Kuzunoha” or “Leaf of Kudzu”. The opposing candidate did not take to the result, ultimately decided to leave the group and start out on his own. Hoshi and her team's start began with a small entrance tournament. To say they breezed through it was far from the truth. Asking the team today they would say that they attribute the victory they earned there as a combination of the skill of their trainer, the hard work of team tending to Kuzunoha and an amount of luck that would make a maneki-neko do a double take. They made it though, and their efforts brought an incredible amount of prestige in the dome and a growing legion of fans. Now reaching an almost unprecedented soar in the ranks as the clever trainer and her nimble, durable, and hard hitting golem managed to beat out their opponents in spectacles that rarely fail to please the crowd whether they lose a battle or not. Hoshi herself was actually rather put off by the celebrity status she was getting. She never wanted to let it interfere with her work with Kuzunoha and was very selective of the appearances on shows or in public she made. To call her reclusive would be a stretch though, as she has had moments where it is clear she does enjoy making people cheer for her or anypony else: her gestures and mannerisms when caught by fans show she clearly enjoys making subtle but dramatic gestures when the tide in her battles usually turns. Her impressive rise to fame having earned her the nickname “Nagareboshi” among the crowds. Despite the fame that she, her team, and her golem has earned... she has stated she has no plans of retiring and aims to be the reigning champ of the highest Golem battle tournament there is, no matter how long it takes her. Even with all those potent ambitions she carries within her and the fame she has in her homeland, she hasn't given up on the idea of romantic aspirations. In fact recently she had received a letter from someone in the shogunate's staff... requesting she present herself up as a bride candidate. An offer she has actually accepted, She however hasn't told anyone besides those directly involved about and is trying not to let word get out to the media about it. As focused as she is on her career she had not paid much attention to the political scene so really at this point all she knows is that the Shogun is a Ryuma... at the very least meeting him will be interesting. Personality: In some ways, Hoshi is a product of her environment. She loves music, games, fashion, manga, anime, but especially (and most obviously) Golem training. One of the traits of hers that is usually the first to notice would be her unconventional fashion choices. Her most consistent strange choice for an accessory being an old fashioned schoolcolt's hat with a cartoonish grinning fox face pin attached to the front above the visor. The sight of her with her visor facing forward but off to the side being almost iconic to the point she can blend into a crowd by tilting it backwards at the opposite angle. The cap is actually her father's old cap having been refurbished and refitted (and slightly modified in terms of the pin) to her head: She wears it mostly because she attributes his influence as being what set her down her path in life. Around others a good way to describe hoshi is cool on the outside but burning with passion within. She tends to be polite and respectful in conversation with strangers and newcomers so long as they are in return, usually she saves any bluntness for her closest friends and teammates. IN the case someone is rude or just in her mind unpleasant she isn’t above the occasional verbal jab or snark at their expense. In the dome Hoshi is very similar, if more wary. Among past opponents they may also describe as an incredibly gracious sore loser in that most fights she and her golem loses, if she fights someone again she usually comes back with a strategy designed to make up for the past failings and highlight the flaws in her opponent’s approach. Despite this reputation she rarely has ever shown malice to any opponent, the only exception being one of her team’s early tournament matches when an opponent underestimated her and insulted the team and Kuzunoha a few times before the fight… and even then she doesn’t consider it her proudest moment despite the roaring of the crowd that day. When off the job, Hoshi tends to live her life fairly simply and tends to spend her downtime in the watertrough’s less wealthy areas, in the arcade’s of the tech district (usually on the dance machine), or just browsing stores and meeting with her teammates and friends. Due to her popularity she often wears clothing that lets her blend into crowds better than her Ouendan outfit and cap combination she’s usually seen in the Arena with. Seeing as her job with Kuzunoha can be kind of time consuming she tends to bond with her golems in less conventional ways, For Kuzunoha she focuses on martial arts lessons and drills she seems to enjoy to prepare her both for the fights and for the recreation. In regards to her fashion interests she can regularly be seen reading magazines on the latest trends and debating herself over what clothes she wants to wear versus the ones she actually can wear. While Hoshi is very good at training and connecting with golems in general, her knowledge on the magitech engineering and certain other finer details are not too well honed, if she could handle every aspect of the maintenance of Kuzunoha she wouldn’t need her team. She does have a good eye for telling where to have Kuzu aim during fights and analyze her opponent’s body language, she can sometimes overestimate certain aspects if left without consultation. Another fault that her teammate’s regularly have to remind her about is that sometimes she tends to overspend on certain things she likes… be they the outfits she buys, or the time spent in the various other stores in the tech district. Another issue that she tends to hear no shortage of complaints would be her stubborn insistence on continuing on with her plans regardless of her physical state, such as one dome battle where she showed up with a fever and a bad cold that had her pass out at the end of a very tough match. Summary: A determined but cool headed neighponese mare. Eager to prove her skill and make a mark for herself, her team, and her golem in the annals of the Polohama dome’s history. Respectful, dedicated, energetic internally, and occasionally snarky, Hoshi is a mare hoping to enjoy her life and live comfortably. While by no means -the- champion of the Golem fighting tournaments, Hoshi and her team are a rising star in the scene that have been focusing fully on realizing their dreams. With her as the official face she has already earned celebrity status in Neighpon but still tries to keep her personal life at least somewhat quiet.

I can't believe this is the first time I've drawn one of my favorite background ponies. This one was a lot of fun. I experimented again by painting over the sketch and only using a small amount of layers. I made quite a few breakthroughs when it comes to lighting. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this one! I've been told that the face is more colt-like but I kinda like it. Maybe I'll go for a more feminine look next time? I dunno.

So, I know what you're thinking, why does Chrysalis have a blonde stripe in her mane and tail? Well, this isn't Chrysalis, though it's meant to look almost exactly like her. This was a request from my friend Rouge Shadow of her OC, who is Chrysalis' daughter, thus the very similar likeness.
