Hello again everyone, I just remembered another of my crazy theories and wanted to get it down before I forgot about it again, so here it goes:So, I'm sure you all know the legends of mythical creatures and powerful wizards. All across the world there are different tales of powerful beings and strange creatures, and a lot of them are eerily similar to each other. Well, this theory is about how all of those stories are true and how come they no longer exist today. You see, we humans used to have magic, and the world was filled with it. We were not the only ones that could use it, but we were very adept at it. There were multiple Gods, who ultimately were responsible for granting us this magic, hence older religions that have too many Gods to remember. As we grew as a species, we did what we usually tend to do. We began to feel like we owned magic, and that we were entitled to it, and essentially it was like it is with technology today. Anyway, we began to abuse magic, and to grow more and more hateful of the other species that inhabited our planet. We were killing off the magical creatures so quickly, they started to become more and more rare, and the Gods more and more careful who got magic. But eventually, as we continued to overstep our boundaries and turn to more conventional means of living and killing, the Gods decided there was only one thing they could do: they would use their magic to create a copycat world similar to the one currently inhabited. The copycat world would grow independently of the other, and would be inaccessible from the original world. Now, here's where things get tricky. You see, I can't be sure whether our world is the copycat, or theirs. However, I'm pretty sure that in order to create the copycat world a structure, or maybe a series of structures, had to be used as a sort of anchor to keep the worlds connected. The anchor isn't invincible though, and I believe that the anchor may be breaking down, slowly closing the gap between our world and theirs, which explains some phenomena in our world. I don't know what exactly the anchor could be, maybe Stonehenge or the like, but I do know that if the anchor is destroyed it will be catastrophic for both worlds. Since we have developed our worlds differently, structures are sure to collide with each other. It will easily be apocalyptic for both sides. I just hope if this one turns out being right, I survive and can live out my life among my dragon brethren. Stay crazy everybody!
This was supposed to be comment on Sexism in the MLP fandom but I realized that this one would do better as a topic on its own. As the 'true neutral' person I am; I guess I should step in with a couple of thoughts for the first time. Just note that I really haven't read the essay, I'm just adding some thoughts about the subject in general. Thus you don't have to go and read that essay; if you don't really want to do it of course. I have divided my thoughts into two opinion-provoking staples and personal theories that I've chose to call: "Ignorephilia" and "The equalizers" Ignorephilia This "sexism" topic appears everywhere in different approaches but similar genres. "Sexism in fandom", "Homophobia in sport club" and "Racism on internet", to name a few. These topics appear in each and every larger community where a larger group of people are 'forced' to interact with each other. We humans have an inborn cruelty as well as an inborn goodness. I won't argue about that; it's a stated fact. I can personally admit that I've done a lot of things that I regret, I've been mean, I've been ignorant and I've allowed my mood to make my actions for me, even on this site. Not everything could and shouldn't be blamed on my age and maturity. My belief is that a whole lot of people are like me, and even worse. So, does this problem exist in our brony community? Undoubtedly; yes. Is there anything we as individuals could do about it? Yes, a little, but that doesn't mean we'll do it. A big flaw with the, for us, well-known ideology "Love and tolerance" is the second word in that sentence. A synonym to "tolerance" is "acceptance" and close to "acceptance" lays "Ignorance" since to "accept" or "tolerate" one's behavior would be equal to "ignore" said person's behavior. Our general community today is soaked with "ignorance" and we're encouraged to "Not feed the trolls", "don't fish", and are forced with a general "Don't stick out and make sure no one else will" propaganda. Maybe these acts to ignore 'attention seekers' will make people more and more desperate to actually be noticed and does rather be stamped with things like: Sexist, racist and homophobic, than not being seen at all. Maybe what we need to do is just to show people what's good and what's wrong and encourage them to do good things by giving them cred for doing them. The equalizers Every day we hear "Sexism is bad!", "Homophobia is badder!", and "Racism is baddest!" and for good reasons. Non of us could stand here and truthfully say that any of these are good things. Only someone stupid and with an IQ of a slug would have missed the flow of "anti-bad" chants hammering at your head since the day you began walking. And you agree! There's no reason you shouldn't. Bad things are bad and bad things should be good things instead. Of course was the napalm use in the Vietnam war bad. Of course is the starving in Africa bad. Calling girls bad because they are girls are bad. Calling blacks bad because they have a different skin color is bad. Bad, bad, bad, bad. A lot of things are bad and those things should be fixed. There's a lot of groups and organizations who does a great job in making these problems less bad. But there's this thing, these groups, that are going way too far in their work. Instead of saying that we should be proud of our differences and love each other for who we are, or even saying that we are beautiful the way we are, they try to squeeze in every one into one single square centimeter. In this spot there's no differences between men and women, black and white, human and animal, fat and thin, long and short, poor or rich, Swedish and English nerd and geek, fanfic and fiction and schoolgirls and ponies. Everyone should be squeezed into one single unit where every differences is denied. Every unpopular opinion like, sexism, homophobia and racism should be suppressed and those with these opinions will be denied a part in the community. No, I'm not saying we're there yet, but it isn't impossible that we eventually will. Our world is changing, the surveillance increasing, who are you to say that we wouldn't end up like this? There you have some of my many thoughts. This is mostly based on my observations of the world in general and nothing in here are stated facts. These are theories. As a seventeen year old immature, philosophical dude who desires more knowledge than is offered; I sometimes make theories but I lack the equally intellectual group of people who can help me evolve them. Don't take me wrong, my pals are awesome and smart in their own way but they don't care much for my kind of thoughts. I'm basically here for a second and third person perspective. Thank you for your time and consideration! Here's an eggplant
