I really surprised myself with how this one turned out. I made quite a few breakthroughs here when it comes to lighting/shading. Slowing down on the picture instead of rushing through it probably helps too. This idea has been floating around in my head for some time and I finally got around to drawing it.© art by me, character by hasbro

Heya Guys! Yesterday I went shopping and I was in this kid shop with my dad who was looking for some avenger Legos and I stumble upon this in the girls section. I couldn't resist! It's so cute and cuddly!

I know this is probably a really old topic that's probably been put to rest by a lot of the fans, but I thought I'd share my own opinion on the matter because after searching the internet, I wasn't able to find someone who thought the same as I did. A lot of people seem to dislike this episode because they feel it is too pro-religion and way out of character considering that twilight, a educated character, would give up and just "accept" that something, while it can't be explained, can still be true. At first, I was annoyed with the episode as well. It's not a very good lesson to teach young kids because we need to promote questioning to further increase our intelligence. However, after thinking about it some more, I realized this episode can go both ways. Pro-religion and pro-science, despite science failing. In the episode, pinkie has a special ability. It can't be explained but it can plainly be seen and is proven to work multiple times. This is evidence, something that most religions tend to lack, but science thrives on. Evolution is something that we can see and know exists. Evidence such as the fossil record, studying the short life span of multiple generations of fruits flies and the heredity characteristics that we see get passed on. We know evolution exists because we see it. However, we can't explain why or how this phenomenon came to be. Twilight, to me, could be seen as the religious person in this case. She has her books (and machine thingy) that she uses to explain the mysteries of life and after repeated attempts can't find a way to explain how pinkie does it. Similar to how some (not all) religious organizations try to debunk evolution by explaining that there is no mention in the bible of it and that it's just a theory. A theory is something that has been backed up through multiple tests and seen as successful. So in this case, we have the Theory of the Twitchy Tail. We see it happen multiple times and successfully predicts the future. Also, the big bang theory. No one can explain that. It's just a strong educated guess, but like twilight said. Just because you can't explain it doesn't make it any less true. While, the big bang theory does have an explanation as to how it probably happened, it's one of those "twitchy tail" moments in life's history that, although we are aware that it most likely happened there's no way to prove it, you just have to choose to believe in it or not. This is what makes this episode so fun. It totally flip flops everything. Even though I said I saw twilight as the religious one, she definitely wasn't. She questions and tests the phenomenon like a true scientists. The point I'm getting at that this episode's strength comes in the fact that it can go multiple ways. Is it pro-religion? Is it pro-mysteries of life? Who knows? There is literally no answer because you can argue it either way. It just seemed, to me, pro-religious because twilight uses science to explain a magical ability, which we are used to seeing in the real world. But considering that this wasn't the writer's intention for this to be the lesson, it's easy to find multiple ways to explain the episode's intentions. Leave a comment! I'm interested in seeing who agrees, but more importantly, who disagrees because what better way to promote learning, than with multiple points of views.

Pinkie as a something or nother -
I must say, I am hugely intimidated by the talent that is displayed in the MLP fandom. It's scary! Not only that, but some of them simply have a higher production value than I am able to attain. But that's alright. This is my first attempt at my first pony song. I would like to create a better version of it, eventually, with a better mic. It's frightening putting my work/voice out there. But I know how kind and encouraging this fandom is! Here goes!

Well, I have an idea I've been toying with for awhile...but I've been kind of putting it off because I don't know how it would go, and it doesn't seem very realistic. It's basically Pinkie Pie and Vinyl Scratch. Maybe a little shipping, I dunno, but the main plot was gonna be something like Scratchie comes to Ponyville and plays a show and Pinkie comes (obviously) and turns out to be an awesome dancer and Scratch wants Pinkie to travel with her and dance for her shows. (That was a horrid run-on, I'm sorry.) I was gonna have them go to Canterlot and do...stuff that I haven't thought out yet, but it's not really that detailed yet. The problems I'm having is that I don't think Pinkie would just abandon her friends to go dancing with somepony she doesn't know very well, and I'm just not sure how the whole thing would work out. I would really love to do something PinkieScratch, but...well yeah, anypony have any thoughts? Ideas? Anything would be awesome~

Submission for the EQD ARG day 2: A pony in motion. I really liked this one, and I seriously derped on the day 1 piece. I’ve always thought pinkie would be the 1 frootlooper (Skater jargon for roller blader) among the skaters of ponyville (Scoot, AJ, and a few background characters I may draw later). I was the frootlooper for my group of skater friends through highschool, so while I couldn’t do nearly as many tricks, I could go so much faster then all of them! The freedom of movement is really liberating. Special thanks to an artist over on Tumblr for some seriously helpful tips with coloring and shading while he was doing a stream last night. I won't say his name cause his work is of a questionable nature, but hes super sweet and super helpful! -

The beginning of a bigger picture I'm doing. The rainbow border was just for fun. I tried a new kind of shading, and the anthro-ness is kinda new too. (: -

Some emotional venting art from a livestream. I got some really good news this morning, then around 2:30 I got an emotional punch to the stomach from someone (that I sorta deserved). Crashing from that Euphoria hurt even more... so I expressed myself through the pony I sympathize with the most. Duality is tough to deal with. -

Pinkie Pie and Rarity style each other up while I experiment with new art styles. Everypony be stylin'! If anyone is so inclined to color this, go ahead as long as you credit me. -

Pinkie Pie had planned a perfect picknick party for her pretty princess friend Rarity's birthday, but an unexpected summer thunderstorm rained on her parade... ...Rarity had an umbrella. asdflalvdsalfdlsaf I hate drawing Rarity so much... she came out so awkward in this and I spent like 10 minutes on those freaking curls. I'm just glad I could get away with hiding her bangs behind Pinkie. Pinkie's fun to draw, as expected from best pony. I feel like I'm forgetting something.... oh yeah ~Shippy shippy shippy -
Yeah, I don't just draw- I also write... well sorta. I used to write, then my tablet started sucking up all my art time. Whatcha gonna do? Anyway, this is like my only finished (relatively speaking) story. It's been revised twice, turned away from EQD due to a few grammar/punctuation errors, and I'm sitting on a proof read version of the last chapter I still haven't looked at. http://kryptchild.deviantart.com/art/Health-and-Love-part-1-282884599 It's a four part gushy mushy touchy feely romancypancy FlutterPie ship fic. It's pretty PG except for the existence of lesbians and Fluttershy gets a booboo at some point. There's also a few awkwardly aimed butts, but other than that it's pretty innocent. I'm not 100% sure what my point for posting this is. I guess read it if you've got some time and feels to spare. Feedback, corrections, etcetera would be nice. Also someone should tell me if I should just stick with drawing, or try and pick writing back up too. I'm still on the fence.

Okay, please do NOT vote for YOUR favorite pony before reading!! Okay, the target audience of My Little Pony is little girls ages 4-12 or so. SOO, question 1: Which pony do you think is most appealing to that age group? For example, for a 6 year old girl to watch this show on the hub, which pony do you think would be most appealing to the youth of today? Question 2: Which pony of all of these do you think a little girl would pick out at Target on the shelf, if based on only appearance on the box? Even if you are not an avid collector, everypony on this site knows what the mane six look like, and their picture is on the toy box for the toys. Based on ONLY that appearance, what toy do you think they would select?
