The day was crisp and cool, the summer sun had decided to take the day hiding behind clouds (or rather the weather service had conspired to make it happen) and out in the woods near ponyville a young pinto colt was jumping around, swinging a toy wooden sword at "pirates" unfortunately, though he stumbled, crashing into a nearby crab-apple tree ans was rewarded with two apples bonking him on the head "Curse-ed Tree, your siding with the enemy!" he exclaimed and hit it with his sword... which rewarded him with another crab-apple falling on his head... "ow... stupid tree wont play fair..." he muttered, rubbing his head where the hard crab-apples had hit him when they fell...

Celestia's sun was just reaching it's apex as the little pinto made his way to the lake just outside of Ponyville. He'd spend the day looking around hoping to find something unusual to impress his (hopefully) Special Somepony, but as usuall ended up spending the way wandering around aimlessly munching on the common flowers he found. The summer heat was starting to get to Pip as he reached the lake, smiling broadly while he slipped off his neckerchief and backed up a ways... he charged at the water and leapt, making a huge splash. The foal paddled around, enjoying the feeling of the cool water flowing through his fur and over his skin beneath, most ponies thought he was Mad, or at least a little odd, enjoying the water like he did, but back in trottingham he had grown up with a private pool and his adventurous streak... or perhaps his rebellions streak against "ponies don't swim" made him eager to learn and since then enjoyed it daily back home and more than a few times since his family moved to ponyville. Pip dove down, gently scooping up a stone and returning to the surface, with a flick of his neck, he sent it skipping across the surface of the lake, wondering once more why the other ponies didnt like water...

It was early in the morning, the pegsai had not long cleared the last of the clouds from the sky, and ponyville was just starting to awaken... well most of it was starting to awaken... A small Pinto foal had been up a long time, writing and re-writing a note to attach to the flowers he had gathered the day before for his potential special somepony... finally he felt he had it done... Pip carefully looped the ribbon around the card, the flowers were a combination of Cherry Blossoms, Apple Blossoms, and accents of Pussy willows, with a single red rose in the center. they were tied with a yellow ribbon and had a card attached, the card, and of course the flowers, were addressed to "The Most Wonderful Filly in Equestria" in a beautiful penmanship that few ponies could compare to. The foal carefully stashed the bouquet back under this neckerchief and headed out. The air was still a little cool and crisp as he trotted down the nearly-empty streets of ponyville. He stopped at the large building who's windows showcased so many different styles of clothing; the Carousel Boutique, he knew Sweetie Belle stayed there most of the time since her parents traveled so much --- and he hoped it was the case now since he had no clue where SB's parents actually lived... (unfortunately had he bothered to walk around back he would have seen the guest room's window open and the room empty, meaning the filly was not staying with her sister... but Pip hadn't thought about checking...) Pip reached under his neckerchief and brought out the flowers and very carefully placed them on the doorstep, then rang the bell frantically, likely waking up half the neighborhood instead of just Rarity, after a moment he ran and dove behind the shrubs on the far side of the road, too scared to confront Sweetie Belle but wanting to see her reaction if she came out... he made a small hole just large enough to see though... ...and it was now that the foal mentally face-hoofed... he had forgotten to sign his name! There was no way SB would have any clue which of her "surely dozens of suitors" the flowers had come from! he wanted to kick himself but he was too busy lieing on his belly watching the door of the boutique to see what happened...

Pip had spent all morning out in the fields surrounding ponyville, it was a nice calm day and the weather report said it would hold, so he was out looking for something... specifically some nice flowers to make a bouquet to leave for his unknowing-special-somepony, but so far all he found were common boring dandelions (one of which was turned into a snack) and 'puff balls.' He had been hoping to find something unusual and pretty to give to Sweetie Belle in hopes of at least catching her eye, but so far none had shown themselves... Pip sighed "whur are all the proper flowers hiding! I c'nt win a Gul's heart with these..." he said in his thick trottingham accent, kicking a puffball to make his seeds drift lazily on the breeze. He sighed and finally just sat down on the grass, reaching under his neckerchief and retrieving another dandelion which he made into a second quick snack, wondering idly if it would be romantic to make the filly of his dreams a fresh dandelion sandwich instead...

The teacher had just announced the students homework and the end of class, most of the foals were packing up their books and heading out, all except one... The pinto's eyes had lingered, much of the day, on another filly, as usuall he had tried to speak to her, but when he did his brain would feel like it came loose in his head and his stomach would get queasy while his legs turned to jelly... fortunately she was one of the first students to leave, so he was able to get his brain to snap back into it's metaphorical socket in his skull and he started taking his books and notes and placing them in his saddlebags... But as he did his eyes drifted to the desk the filly had been sitting in, thankfully the effect of the memory was not the same as actually seeing her... he continued putting his stuff away, including the latest issue of a magazine he had been reading during the more boring parts of the lesson. Pip gently hit, well tapped, his head against the desk " 's not fair" he said in his strong cockney accent "it's just not..." Around him the lights all clicked out while a spotlight appeared over him There... is... this... Filllllllly... When she's around I just act silly How can I know what to say when I cant even ask the time of day... How can I find the words... There is something here, so deep inside something that I really dont care to hide, But no matter how hard I try All I can do is look, and sigh... ...Is ...This ... Love? Or is it something more? Is this a bridge I must cross? Is it a lock upon a door? I.. am... at... a loss... What... does... it... meeeeeeaaaaaaannnnnnnnn? As the last note of the song ended and the room returned to pip's mind, he sighed "if only I knew the words..." he muttered, closing his saddlebags.

It was a nice, warm day in ponyville, a cool breeze was blowing and a few clouds drifted lazily accross the sky. It was still fairly early for a Saturday, so there were few ponies out an about, but this was what Pip wanted, he didnt really want a lot of ponies to see him... The little pinto was wearing a vest today, along with his neckerchief, on his back was a pair of appropriately-sized saddlebags, which were still laiden with supplies, it was clear he was planning to be gone most of the day, one might think he was taking a hike up into the mountains, or perhaps he was going to have a picnic down by the lakes... but he wasn't headed towards either one of those... he was headed towards the Everfree Wilderness...
