Welp, this was it! This was the day that Wind Dancer had been looking forward to since that fateful night in Ponyville. She was currently getting reading into one of the gazebo turned dressing rooms for the event. Today was the day that this single mare, married the stallion of her dreams. It was almost ironic that it ended up being the colt that grew up next door to her in Cloudsdale, even though they never truly met until they came here to Las Pegasus. In fact, that's exactly why the two of them had chosen this place. The Las Pegasus Central District Park. Right under the very tree that Sky had sneezed and dropped leaves on her from when they first met. She could still remember that day vivdly and she still chuckled every time she remembered that face. As it was now though, she was incredibly antsy and was ready to get everything started. Something that her mother was getting very annoyed with. "Windy, I know you're anxious dear, but please for all that is holy please stop squirming. You're making lining this up very difficult," her mother said, trying to line up the zipper on the dress and the the buttons for the trails. With a long zip, the two mares looked in the mirror, and Morning couldn't help but wipe a tear from her eyes. "You okay mom?" "Yes sweetie. It's just hard to see the beautiful mare that you've grown into. I still see you as the little filly I raised all those years ago. But I also can't be any more proud of the mare that you've become. You've become a beacon of hope for so many ponies and you've helped so many others... There just aren't many ponies like you in the world anymore, and I'm so happy that you managed to find one of the few other ponies like that who fits you so perfectly," she said, pulling her little filly into a hug, one that Wind returned. "Well, I had a good rock. Even when I was reluctant to come back to Cloudsdale I never stopped thing about you and dad. There are no words to describe how happy I am that both of you are here to witness this, even if dad might have his hooves full with Glimmer right now," Wind giggled. After a few final adjustments, Morning smiled. "Are you ready to become a married mare?" she asked with a smile, watching Wind return the smile and nod. "Good, it's almost time. they should be sending the ushers here soon."
This was it. After a full year of waiting, anticipation, pregnancy cravings, morning sickness, hopes, and dreams, the time had finally come. Sky Sailing was sitting right by his fiancee's side in the Los Pegasus Hospital, awaiting the birth of their first foal! He felt they were as ready as they could ever be. The name was agreed on, the crib built, the flat absolutely stuffed with all the baby equipment that their friends and family could supply, and waiting in the wings were two pairs of prospective grandparents, almost as eager as Sky and Windy themselves! Both their parents were in the hall outside, though; only Sky and the midwife was with Windy at the moment. "I'll be right here through the whole thing, don't worry." He gave her hoof a comforting caress, holding it ready for Wind Dancer to squeeze if need be.
*All in all,* Sky Sailing mused as he carted his latest grocery run back to Wind Dancer's city apartment, *Canteloupe and Ice Cream aren't the weirdest cravings I've heard of.* The latter wasn't at all hard to get in this city, even if he didn't know the purveyor of some of the best personally. Desert cities generated such a demand for cool treats that you could find a shop or stall selling some on every corner, practically. Finding melon that didn't come pre-sliced, packaged in its own fermenting juices though? Somewhat harder without connections to resort suppliers. Making runs like this would be difficult for Wind Dancer, given the circumstances that led to these cravings, so like the dutiful fiancee he was, Sky offered to move in and help take care of her for a while. Landing at the balcony, he called out, "Honey, I'm back!" Unstrapping the basket from beneath himself, he picked it up in his teeth and carried it into the house, looking around. Hopefully Windy was feeling alright, the latter half of a pregnancy could get a little rough.
If Sky Sailing was being honest, it was surprising how long it was before he and Wind Dancer did any collaborative professional work. It wasn't for any lack of respect or compatibility of talent; both pegasi knew the other to be quite skilled in their field, and what could go better together than song and dance? All that said, now that they were most definitely certain that they were Special Someponies to each other, it was only a matter of time. Sky had finally finished work on his album, and Wind Dancer was ready to slot new material into rotation. For the start, Sky had asked that Windy come out to his cloud home over the Los Pegasus reservoir. There was enough open space for her to dance without danger to any bystanders, and Sky wanted to be close to his studio and equipment for the initial compositions. "I don't know if you wanted to do a whole set with just my songs, or if you wanted to intersperse them with others you selected. I'm fine either way, don't worry; just doing a full set is going to take a lot longer. I'm not just writing songs, I want them all to flow into each other." He explained, once she had arrived to see him surrounded by sheet music and a magi-crystal keyboard.
