Pinkie Pie currently possesses the
Element of Laughter
.
This special element is one of the six that represent Harmony. She discovered as a filly that laughter can dispel the scary and bad things in life, so it's best to laugh in the face of fear and unrest! The physical manifestation
of the Element is a golden medallion with a sparkling, blue balloon-shaped gem set in the center of the trinket. It is currently kept safe in Canterlot Castle, and guarded diligently by Princess Celestia herself.

Pinkie Pie is a quirky, giggly, clever, smile-a-minute pony of pure joy and fun! A party mare extraordinaire! Extroverted hardly describes Pinkie. She is the definition of exuberance and outgoing friendliness.
As a result of her unique, positive personality, Pinkie can often confuse herself, responding to situations and conversations with random reactions and comments. She finds silliness in
simplicity, laughter with the laudable, and delight with her daring joyfulness.. She is extremely easy to amuse, and just as easy to talk to and have lots of fun with. She can be hyper and tends to lack control sometimes, though she is quite able to focus, especially as the situation demands. Pinkie can be quite literal about situations, people, places, and things, which only adds to her silliness and whimsy.

Pinkie's energy never seems to wear off, and she is well known for throwing impromptu parties for any reason. Recently she's become fond of theme parties with mixed success, including A Celebration of Snails (not very popular due to the slime and leaf-themed snacks -- not to mention the slow music), Timberwolf Appreciation Party (the guests of honor tried to eat the other guests), and a Eat-Everything-In-Sugarcube-Corner Party (popular until tummy aches started). She recently invited many of her friends to a party in celebration of hiccups! Hic!

Pinkie has spent many hours coming up with lyrics to her own songs, which range from short ditties, to full-blown musical performances in the middle of town! Her latest song is the

Pinkie is
also quite a dancer, able to do steps such as the
Tailslide
,
Breakmane
, and the
Tickly Two Trot Twirling Teaser Twisty Tango
!

Despite
her somewhat foal-like playfulness, Pinkie has
an extremely sharp memory. She is able to recall every resident of Ponyville by name, as well as details about them. She also knows what they like to eat, everypony's birthday, and what color their toothbrushes are. She is always eager to meet newcomers, and will always throw them a welcome party -- whether they like it or not! She has also been known to play pranks on her
friends, which can be as simple as a squirt of disappearing ink, or as elaborate as gift-wrapping every single object in somepony's home.

Pinkie Pie has a ravenous sweet tooth, and likes to try her hoof at baking all sorts of goodies! She likes to share the fruits of her experimental labor with the other residents of Ponyville, with fun results! Her most notable baking creations are her infamous
plum-pickle pound cake
,
dragon's breath firebelcher muffins
,
tacky tickling lettuce tarts
, and
Pinkie's inky
cupcakes
. She is able to devour cakes, pastries, and other goodies whole, and tends to get hungry often -- she'll snack on nearly anything as long as it tastes good, and there is enough to share with her friends! Her definition of what "tastes good" varies by the minute.

Even though Pinkie may come across as a pure party pony,
she strives to feel respected as a responsible young mare, and does not hesitate to stand up for her friends.
Pinkie also likes to teach other ponies in a playful and meaningful way, such as singing a baking recipe, dancing directions, or showing others they can laugh
in the face of fear or accomplish great things with a cheerful song and a smile!

O t h e r T r a i t s :

While Pinkie Pie may be a bastion of laughter and fun, she also has a complex other side to her interesting and varying personality . Most notably she can be insecure about herself, though this is very rare and usually triggered by a misunderstanding. She can quickly become paranoid about what others are saying or thinking about her, fearing
abandonment above all other things. When Pinkie is having a hard time understanding what is going on, her normally fluffy mane and tail deflate into sad,
straight locks, and she adapts a mopey personality. She grasps to find friendship wherever possible, even going so far as to talk to inanimate objects. She
is quick to bring back into her normal happy self with firm urging from her friends. She also takes rejection poorly, and will go to
any
length to feel accepted.

Even though her friends may not understand Pinkie or her choices sometimes, she always means to do
well, even if what she does makes no sense; her rhyme sometimes has a reason,
but not always. Pinkie has a tendency to talk to herself, holding entire conversations about anything. She recently had a debate with herself about the positives of using grass buttercream over wheat. The conversation got heated, however, and she was forced to ignore herself until she made up later that evening with a soothing self-hug.

L i t t l e F i l l y :

Pinkie was born and raised on a humble, dusty Rock Farm outside of Ponyville with her Mother, Father, and two sisters. Her family's coat colorings were all muted, brown and
grey colors, so she was a bit of an oddity being born with a pink coat. The sky over the Rock Farm was gloomy and dark, littered with weeds and surrounded by dreary scrubland. It was a place lacking of sunshine and fun.. Her family was quite simple,
and there was no smiling or talking
-- just farming rocks!
Upon viewing
a sonic rainboom in the sky that cleared away the sad, grey clouds, she felt intense joy, and decided to
share it by making her own smiles. She threw a party for her family,
and subsequently discovered her special talent, as
well as her true personality.

And that's how Equestria was made!

A f t e r E q u e s t r i a W a s M a d e :

Pinkie left home -- much to the chagrin of her family -- to begin her new life in Ponyville. She took up residence as a bakery apprentice at the delightful, giant gingerbread house confectionery,
Sugarcube Corner
. She became quite close with the Cake family, and despite her silliness and urge to throw random parties, they welcomed her with open hooves
into their home and business. The Cakes were originally going to hire more than one pony to work for them, but found Pinkie's energy and drive to be more than enough [Application permission and
reference here
]. Mr. and Mrs. Cake trained Pinkie in baking basics, including how to make delicious moist cupcakes, confections like bright rainbow lollipops , fluffy cloud-like marshmallows, and ooey-gooey mouth-sticking hay crunch truffle fudge.. She also learned secret frosting techniques that have been passed down through Cake family generations, including the
one-hooved super swirl
,
la collant sucre cheval
, and the
startipped tinky-dunky
. She is quite good at sprinkle making (though her red sprinkles tend to ignite on fire; she has yet to perfect that recipe) -- and knows how to make perfect smiling sunflower and oat chip cookies! Pinkie is not known for her cleanliness when baking, and she frequently leaves the bakery kitchen in sticky shambles.

Pinkie later
bore witness to the birth of the Cake Twins, and eagerly offered her assistance as a foalsitter. Pinkie developed her sense of self as a responsible
pony during this time, refusing all help while watching the Twins. When not baking, visiting her friends, throwing parties, welcoming new ponies to Ponyville, or spreading smiles around, Pinkie has also been known to take up work as a music DJ for big events, and can bust out some crazy pony beats! Her favorite music mixes include the Pony Pokey, Maniac Mare, The Haystacks, Bitten Apples, and Songs from the Swamp: Alligator Bedtime Tunes.

T h e L a u g h i n g D r e a m e r :

Pinkie's entire goal in life is to make other ponies smile, smile, smile! She makes it her most important mission; her reason to wake up in the morning. Nothing gives her more joy than to get others to crack a grin, to uplift the crestfallen, and to give giggles to those who could use them. She has a unique foresight to guess just what her friends may need -- or need to hear. It's an obsession, continuing goal, and most importantly, her dream.

sfdhE.png

T a l e n t s :

Pinkie is not only good at throwing parties, making friends, cutting a rug, and (most of the time) baking! She's quite adept at ice skating on all four hooves (ever since she was a little Twinkie Pinkie!); she is able to play numerous instruments, including a tuba, trombone, drums, accordion, and the banjo (it's the only answer to the problem). She can also use non-instrumental objects to make music, such as rope, soap, mushrooms, and ladders. She is also quite a song writer, singer, and dancer. Her aforementioned memory is exceptional,
enabling her to remember every resident of Ponyville and details about their lives with little effort. She is able to chase down other targets with ease, despite her lack of magic or flight. She
sometimes takes up the moniker of Madame Pinkie, and uses her "gypsy" skills to predict the future -- with random and hilarious results. She once informed the residents of Ponyville that a plague of cotton candy grasshoppers were going to storm Ponyville and black out the sun, but she later figured out she was holding her crystal ball wrong, and her predicted apocalypse was, in fact, a light rain shower.

Due to Pinkie's quirky zaniness, she has the ability to perform temporary feats that defy all logic. Examples include emerging from flower pots, counting more than four hooves, and thinking inside the chimney. She has also been known to sneeze confetti, frosting, and lit birthday candles. She may keep random objects around town, stashed in trees, mailboxes, rabbit holes, beehives, and bushes. She never knows when a bowling ball, fish bowl, or an accordion may come in handy, especially for an impromptu party!

Pinkie may sometimes make a
Pinkie Promise
with her friends.
A Pinkie Promise is a neigh unbreakable vow. One may make one easily, but it is not easily broken. Ponies that make a
promise to Pinkie must cross their heart, hope to fly,
and stick a cupcake in their eye.
To break the Promise is to invite Pinkie's wrath, and it is not recommended.

Pinkie has rare moments of sage wisdom that can be completely disarming to her friends, alluding to much deeper thought process than just "party party party!"

P i n k i e S e n s e T o o :

Other ponies, beware! Sometimes parts of Pinkie's body twitcha-twitch, or shaky-shake -- woe be to the pony who won't heed her signs! A flick of a tail may mean a sunny day ahead, or a terrible accident is in the future! Pinkie Sense accuracy has gained some notoriety with the denizens of Ponyville -- many are quick to learn her signs and what they mean. Some additional Pinkie Sense signs have surfaced recently:

Both eyes blink at once
: Chance of cotton candy.

One eye blinking
: Possibly dust in her eye.

Weak legs
: Chocolate pudding warning.

Weak leg
s/sneezing
: Banana pudding warning.

Twitchy tail/itchy nose
: New pony in town that
must
be welcomed!

Left ear twitch
: Gates of Tartarus left open by mistake. Again.

Right ear twitch
: Cuddly baby bunny nearby.

Huge smile
: Hugs incoming!

P e t :

Pinkie's pet of choice is a green, toothless alligator named
Gummy
.
He is a baby alligator with a creamy green underbelly, bright green scales on top, and eyes like glistening lavender gumdrops. Pinkie discovered him one day while skipping through the mucky, stinky
Froggy Bottom Bog
looking for marshmallow roots to
use at Sugarcube Corner for
candy.
She
felt a tug and looked down to find the little critter latching to her tail, and it was love at first reptile! She enjoys putting Gummy where the party is -- in a bowl of punch,
nestled in a bundle of balloons, or hopping to beats on the dance floor. She recently set off a party extravaganza for his birthday! She enjoys taking baths with him, and thinks he has a secret crush on her rubber ducky. Gummy will
sometimes
gnaw on Pinkie -- but since he has no teeth, she thinks it's tickly and fun!

At least until he gets older...

Pinkie and Gummy - SBPFFs!

(Super Best Pet Friends Forever!)

S a m p l e R o l e p l a y:

Pinkie rolled out of her bed, bundled in thick blankets embroidered with green and yellow cupcakes. Thump! The mass of the pink mare struggled beneath the twisted cloth blankets. She freed one hoof, followed by another, extracting the rest of her body with a heavy huff and a snap. She yawned, scratching the side of her flank with a free hoof. Cracking a smile, she stood up, pushing one of the gorgeous stained glass windows of Sugarcube Corner open. Cool morning air whisked through her mane as glimmering sunlight warmed her coat. The air was filled with of all the things that make morning great: the smell of waffles and syrup, bubble bath, dew-covered flowers blooming to greet the day, and the chattering of pony parents getting their foals ready for school. "GOOD MORNING, PONYVILLE!" she hollered loudly. Several disconcerting cries replied to her morning greeting, obviously not happy about her wake up call. "GOOD MORNING TO YOU, TOO!" she replied confidently. Sunlight glinted off of her soft sapphire-hued eyes as she focused on Ponyville Square. Pinkie's nose suddenly felt itchy. She rubbed her snout, confused....then her tail shook! A flash of distant purple outside caught her eye. She squinted, trying to get a better look at who it was. Her jaw dropped to the windowsill. "N-n-n-n-new! A NEW ONE!" She cried out. "A NEW PONY!" Pinkie ran wildly to her door. She heard the Twins next door starting to cry. She froze in place, gritting her teeth. Much too loud for this time of morning! "Sorry, you two!" she whispered.

Pinkie quietly crept down the hall of Sugarcube Corner, past the Twins' room. When she reached the stairs, she hefted her heavy flank onto the stairway ledge, and slipped down in a flash of swirling pink mane. "Wheee!" Mrs. Cup Cake was hurriedly getting the morning bakery order prepared. She bit her lower lip, shaking a batter-covered spoon in Pinkie's direction. "What's got you all excited?" Pinkie grasped Mrs. Cup Cake's shoulders and shook her back and forth. "A new pony! Newer than new! Probably BRAND NEW! We need a cake! We need balloons! We need to welcome them! NOW! Before NOW! YESTERNOW!" Mrs. Cup Cake looked more flustered than usual as she tried to smooth back her dark pink frosting mane.. "I...er! You know where the kitchen is! Please don't make..." Pinkie was gone through the green double doors before she could finish "...a mess."

The young pink pony hurriedly cracked eggs into a bowl, followed by sugar. She grinned, tapping her chin. "Oh right, flour! In you go, Madame!" Pinkie giggled, grabbing a flour sack and upending it into the bowl in a flume of white dust. She didn't bother to whisk the mixture to save time, and instead used her hooves. Pinkie looked frantically around the bakery for an available cake pan, but none were to be found. She looked to the windowsill. "Ahah!" A solitary daisy poked sadly out of the top of the flower pot. Pinkie extracted the flower and transplanted it into a chocolate chip muffin, then dumped her lumpy batter into the vessel. She hurriedly crammed the new cake creation into a blazing hot oven. Pinkie gazed at her empty wrist as if she was wearing a watch, tapping her hoof like an impatient young foal. "I think my watch is broken," she said to herself, shaking her hoof to her ear. After a few minutes, she pulled the undone flower-pot cake out of the oven. It leaked cake batter, but Pinkie didn't care! "I'm coming, new pony!" She shouted, dashing out of the kitchen. A trail of cake batter streaked through the kitchen and bakery front as she made her way out to Ponyville Square.

Huffing and puffing, Pinkie dropped to the feet of the mysterious purple pony. She smiled, panting. "Welcome, welcome, friend, this happy morning day! We're very glad to have you, I'd really like to say! Welcome welcome to Ponyville, our friends will bring you cheer, so have some cake that I just baked while this song I sing you'll hear!" As if in reaction to her song ending, a rather unhappy earthworm poked out of her flower pot cake, probably left over from the previous occupant of the flower pot. Pinkie's eyes widened, and her grin melted for a moment. She wiped batter and dust off her face, then giggled, snorted, then broke into a fit of laughter, warm tears of joy streaming down her cheeks.

"Heeheehee! Wahahahahaoho! You got your mane done, Twilight! I didn't recognize you at first!"

I n c l o s i n g:

Recipe for a Pinkie Pie:

Start with a large bowl of laughter. Add a dash of friendship, a handful of whimsy, and several sprinkles of hope. Stir until giggly and pink. Mix in equal parts of joy and grief until the mixture is balanced but unpredictable. Add playful fun, mix until sweet but not cloying. Invite everypony to stir, then bake with passion until springy and bouncy. Frost liberally with good ideas and happy memories. Makes enough for one amazing pink pony!

Miscellneighy

Scone Princess of Lurv Seal of Approval! Best of luck Rosie, you've always been Pinkie to me, and this app only reinforces my thoughts.

Love the application. However, I needed to use the black spoiler application instead of what you have up top because you chose a shade of pink that is really difficult to read for long. Is that the color you intend to use for her dialogue in the forum? If so, I'd recommend changing it.

Beyond that, I think this is the best application for her yet.

I agree. Nopony else has a chance of getting Pinkie now.

Fluttershy from Putting Your Hoof Down: NOPONY!!!!

XD I just had to do that. I also second that statement. *nods*

Dun say that. You still may get it! If not, that's alright too, because I know you would've been very close!

Thank you! That is a very high compliment! When originally pulling colors for designing the application, I used the digital hex codes for Pinkie's canon coloring -- which against white background with text can be a bit of an eye strain. I only use colored text for dialogue when roleplaying, but I will most certainly make sure it is readable and pleasing to the other players.

This was a really fun app to read! Also, for the dialogue colors, might I suggest using the hex for her mane? It's still a pinkie color, and its dark enough that it should be easier on the eyes.
