Carrot Fields was starting to bemoan the fact he was being used as a little filly's model for "dress up". It didn't help that it brought back less than enthusiastic memories of those times when he was just a wee foal and his older sister, Sunrise, would fancy up his mane in a similar way, complete with bows, hats, and even dresses! Back then he had no choice, but now he was determined to say no to anymore "beatifying" ideas!

At least for the few seconds before he heard little Sweetie Belle's absolutely adorable enthusiasm while she played with his mane.

That disarming voice of pure filly delight, cracking with endearing squeaks, how could he just put his hoof down and say no? It would break her little heart. Weel Carrot it is gist bows an' a hat, sa it isnae 'at bad, besides, look how happy they ur! Still, it was embarrassing, why was he such a pushover when it came to foals? It was perhaps the one good aspect about his sister growing up so fast.

Still he had to at least try and get out of one part of the fashionista attempt by the rambunctious trio, "Ah dornt hink we need tae use any perfume, besides we dornt want tae tak' any ay aAbby's sister's ur grandmother's stuff, 'at wooldnae be reit." That sounded like a good reason, surely enough to deter them.

Then it dawned on him how maybe he can get out of the whole "let's pretty up Carrot Fields" idea, give them a better idea! "Say Ah hae an idea, isnae thaur any game ye aw want tae play? Ye know, while ye wark oan Scootaloo's mane". Better her's than his and perhaps that will keep them from adding even more bows to his head.

AppleBloomATTEMPT3final.png

Apple Bloom was plenty pleased with how Carrot was turning out, and even happier to see that it was a whole team effort that went into it. He looked like an absolute cutie! His mane was styled adorably, Sweetie Belle making sure to give it the same care and attention that she did hers, and it was probably easier on somepony else than it was on yourself in the mirror. Especially the back of the head, the mane never quite felt right but when you could move all around and get to it all, well, the proof was in the pudding. With Scootaloo's additions of the family ribbons, which frankly shocked Apple Bloom as she wasn't sure that the pegasus would have even touched such pretty things on a normal basis, and Apple Bloom adding in the most fantastic hat for the occasion Carrot looked mighty presentable. Mighty silly, too.

"Carrot, ya look prettier than a filly on'r first day of school. Yer lookin' adorable! Ah bet Ah could auction you off at one of them fancy charity auctions and ya'd be tha prime pickings! Great job Sweetie. Why, if this doesn't earn ya a cutie mark in fashion, NOTHIN' will!" She giggled as her attention was slowly stolen by Winona, who was in the middle of freaking out. Poor pup was feverish around storms, and without Applejack to calm her, it wouldn't get better unless others took up the mantle. She had been scared since a pup and now as her claws cut into hard Apple family floor, she was reminded that it sounded the same as it had when she was just a puppy, a real one, though back then she had been too busy trying to force a ride on the mutt who was all too happy to oblige for a moment before something shiny stole her attention and speed out from under the foal.

"Dontcha worry Winona, just a bit of thunder and lightning! C'mhere!" Apple Bloom went and basically attack-hugged her dog, aggressively scratching how?!) behind the ears and holding her head tight, a smile formed deep and bright on her face. She continued scratching as she contemplated what games to play with Carrot.

"Hmm...well thar's just so many games we could play! We could play Apple Settlers, Appletwister, Dominapples, Go Apple, Old Apple, Apple Ball..." Apple Bloom continued, rubbing Winona some more as she got lost in listing off Apple-related games that her big sis had taught her. Some damage...was permanent.

Scootaloo covered her mouth with both hooves and snickered at how ridiculous Carrot looked “He’s the prettiest pony at the Gala!” She exclaimed before jerking at the thunder and lightning, sorta scampering onto a nearby stool, heart pounding in her chest…she quickly swallowed her fear and coughed “I do believe Mr Carrot is right, it is my turn for beautification” She said in her fanciest accent, batting her eyelashes at Sweetie Belle ‘Dearest Sweetie Belle work your magic!” She was really just going along with this, but it made Sweets too happy to make sad right now!

“And I wanna play Monopony!” She added “Geeze AppleBloom I’m starting to think that your family really REALLY likes apples!” she said and laughed… LUNA she was so funny! ..Not really..in fact that joke was terrible but SHE thought it was funny to say the very least!

Sweetie Belle was about to say something to Scootaloo, but all that came out was a high-pitched squeek as a particularly loud and close thunderclap shook the room - the noise even startling the lightning bugs in the lamp, making them flee and leaving the room in darkness. Sweetie Belle found herself still on carrot's back, her face buried in Carrot's mane, her lil' legs wrapped tight round his neck, for a few seconds, as she tried to hide from the noise.

Carefully she disentangled herself from Carrot and tried to pretend she wasn't shaking, her lil' heart racing from the scare. "Oh, ah, yeah! Yeah, that's a great idea, Scootaloo!" The lightning bugs bashfully made their way back into the room in a long line, filing back into the lamp and lighting up again. Sweetie Belle hopped down off of Carrot's back and went up to Scootaloo, considering her mane. "Oh my ... well, I can't do EXACTLY that, because your mane is way too short ... but we can do something similar!"

She quickly gathered up a few little hair ties and went to work ... Rarity had left the front of Dash's mane alone, but had done up the back in a really fance ponytail. Sweetie could do the same! She tried to gather together Scootaloo's mane into a ponytail, but it was, indeed, far too short for that to work. Unfazed, Sweetie started at the nape of Scootaloo's neck and made one tiny ponytail, sticking straight out from Scootaloo's scalp, and worked her way up tying off a whole series of tiny ponytails, ending up with the back of Scootaloo's head looking something like a mohawk.

"I'd enjoy some Apples to Apples, Apple Bloom, but you know what else would be great?" she said cheerfully, inspired by her brief scare. "Scary stories!" She held up a couple of mirrors so Scootaloo could see the back of her own head.

Carrot Fields sighed and gave an awkward smile; he looked ridiculous, and it looked as if Scootaloo was the only other pony to realize it; fortunately neither of them was going to say anything in regards to that given how much it made Sweetie Belle happy. Actually it reminded him a little of Purple’s looked like the first time she tried to put bows in her mane. Well at least the rambunctious trio didn't attempt a dress, and it was tolerable given as soon as they sleep, he can take it all out before anypony else saw him.

Applebloom's comments made Carrot snicker, "actually Applebloom, back in guid ol' Fet Loch, most ay those charity auctions ye talk abit, th' most handsome stallions woods be th' ones auctioned aff tae th' lucky mare fur a date, an' nae th' other way aroond. Ah guess they dae things different haur in Ponyville." Alas Carrot had never been in one of those charity auctions himself; he could never even volunteer for eligibility figuring he wouldn't be accepted, and he had to be wary of Purple Haze's sneaky attempts to trick him into signing up for one.

At that moment, as if on cue a nearby lightning strike hit reminding them all of the frightful weather outside. Carrot though only groaned at the momentary darkness, concerned that the fireflies may not come back on their own. He didn't say anything to Sweetie Belle though, who had cling to him as much as she could; although he enjoyed the moment of playing protector he didn’t want to embarrass her.

As he watched the fillies dismiss the storm and focus on their manedressing his ears perked up at Sweetie Belle's suggestion for scary stories in addition to games. "weel ye aw coods dae both, teel stories durin' th' gam, in fact Ah hae a few stories myself." Carrot pondered for a second as he tapped his hoof against his chin. "weel ye aw coods dae both, teel stories durin' th' gam, in fact Ah hae a few stories myself." carrot pondered fur a second as he tapped his hoof against his chin. "Ah got it. Ah heard aw abit thes tale ay a coople ay ponies in loove, they waur sae infatuated wi' each other 'at they werenae really payin' attention tae anythin' else. In their walks they entered a wee grove by th' Everfree, nae knowin' a st'rm was scheduled; sae when th' st'rm burst, they decided tae tak' refuge in th' Everfree whaur it wasnae rainin', but in their desire tae escape th' deluge they becam lost in th' mysterioos forest. Ower time they becam feral, an' some e'en say nae e'en pony anymair, but some a bampot, twisted mockery ay a pony. Tae thes day they still wander out to try tae fin' their haem. They knock oan doors an' windae, an' if anyain opens them up, they grab th' wee pony who opened it up an' drag them aff intae th' Everfree forest tae be lost wi' them!" At that moment, Carrot reared up in front of the CMC as if he may swoop down and grab all three of the fillies.

As Apple Bloom pounced on Winona and started to pet her, Winona's rear leg started going into movement. At first a slow cycle, but eventually, a fast one-legged sprint in place, and Winona closed her eyes as she enjoyed the mental bliss of relief made behind her ear. AppleBloomATTEMPT3final.png

"Yeah, I think we do, just a bit," Apple Bloom replied to Scootaloo's joke, or well-intentioned attempt at one. No one would get her confused with a stand-up comic but someone had to try and make the bad jokes. And if not her, who? Probably not Apple Bloom. She didn't have a lot of really good jokes and the few jokes she did have were carry overs from her Granny Smith, and were therefore corny enough to plant fields. That had also been one of her jokes which hadn't gone over as well as it had with her own family, which led her to believe that maybe they laughed at their own family's joke out of love or had a horrible sense of humor. Apple Bloom didn't know which possibility was worse, so she continued to pet Winona.

Sweetie Belle's idea was better than hers, partially because she didn't even know where half of the games were as after a few playthroughs with her family the pieces were more than likely missing and were never to be found. She blamed Winona but in all likelihood it was her own fault; a foal and her game pieces were as separable as a little filly was from housework when friends called on her. Apples to Apples especially had been reduced to a few cards and a board. the rest was up to imagination which fit Apple Bloom just fine but didn't catch the fancy of her family, which was in many ways dissapointing- she was pretty hopeful that she could conjure up a win someway, somehow. She nodded and soon Carrot Fields was trying his darnedest to scare them.

She hadn't heard this particular story before, but she had heard more than a few scary campfire stories and knew the routine. It didn't mean that she could necessarily stop the process from taking hold of her though. The vague theatrics were expected but effective and the story, while you knew the end result, got to her still. That was really the fun of the scary store, after all, was allowing yourself to get scared and feel that slowly rising pitter patter of the heart as the story reached it's terrible and inevitable conclusion. The only problem was that his accent and word choice were odd, which meant that she was a little confused on the way to getting scared. Still, the idea of feral ponies coming for them, maybe on a night like this, for hearth and home and dragging them away-

BOOM! CRACK! KNOCK?

-Whatever it was, it sounded the same to her and in her heightened sense of tension post- story she leapt up, Winona's neck still in her hooves.

"Ahhh! It's tha feral ponies!" She screeched, letting Winona down as she leapt away from the door and under Carrot Fields for a moment. She wanted to just hide and not

face the feral ponies, but if they came this far, they weren't gonna be stopped by the rain or a door. They needed to create a barricade and hold out until the morning!

"We gotta hold off these ferals! Somepony get a fire goin', Ah'll get tha tools!" She blasted out as she zipped off and away up the stairs.

Scootaloo held still at that and let Sweetie Belle mess with her mane, though at the sight in the mirror she stared..Oh my Celestia it was the COOLEST mowhawk ever!" Oh my Goodness! Sweetie Bell I love it!" She squeed, before a large clap of thunder made the Pegasus jerk and fall over with a thud... Oh dear Scary Stories!? "Um...uh.."She coughed a bit "Well yeah I am totally down for scary stories but um.."She whispered to Sweetie Belle 'Between you and me I bet AppleBloom can't take it...so lets not make them TOO scary.."

Nopony was going to know about how those kinds of stories scared Scootaloo, never ever ever ever! She glanced at AppleBloom and coughed.. fixing her new do like she didn't get scared by the noise "...Wait what?" And AppleBloom was gone up the stairs "AppleBloom wait for me! Sweetie come on! Cutie Mark Crusaders Feral Pony Tamers GO!" She cried out.

Sweetie Belle was *so happy* that Scootaloo liked her new fancy hairstyle! She hugged her friend happily as Carrot started his story -

But by the time the story was ending, she was, frankly, clutching at her friend, and had pulled in AppleBloom too, her eyes wide, and very nearly holding her breath. When Apple Bloom screamed, so did Sweetie Belle, her little hooves waving above her like noodles, and she darted not for the stairs, but for the front door.

She grabbed a chair quickly and stuck it under the doorknob, 'locking' the door as best she could, then with a strength born of terror, she pushed the nearest cabinet in front of the window next to the front door, blocking it off. She sagged against it, letting out a sigh of relief, and dragging her hoof across her forehead, when suddenly she was gripped with a new terror. The BACK door!

Swiftly she scampered across the house to the kitchen, but the sight of that dragon's breath thingy made her stop and think a moment... she quickly took the dragon's breath and turned it on, focusing its flame onto the doorknob to start heating it up. Those feral ponies better not try to get in!

Outside the window she saw a shadow moving, and let out another scream. "The feral ponies! They're HERE!" she squeaked helplessly, and then shoved a kitchen cabinet up against the kitchen window.

Carrot Fields at first snickered with a wide smile of satisfaction. It was rare he got to tell a good scary story and rarer still that they were effective in actually scaring anypony; mostly it was his little sister, Purple Haze, who was the recipient of said tales and she would dismiss them off-hoof. His satisfaction though turned to amused concern as the trio of fillies blocked up the front door only to hear a knocking again. Somepony really is at th' duir, Ah thought it was th' wind.

However before Carrot could undo the ad hoc barrier to the front door, he caught out of the corner of his eye a shocking sight- Sweetie Belle started to heat the backdoor knob with that dreaded "dragon's breath" that the white unicorn filly earlier almost destroyed the kitchen with! "Sweetie Belle nae! Yoo'll burn doon th' duir!" Carrot ran up and grabbed the device and placed it in the sink, unfortunately the knob was already glowing a mild red.

Carrot turned his attention back to the front door, determined to answer before the trio of fillies could cause any more furniture moving mischief. "Ah am sure it is jist a local pony who wants tae ask somethin', ur a pony who jist is lost an' needs directions, who knows it coods be Applebloom's clan." Carrot easily move the cabinet from in front of the door with his head and smiled. "Haur I'll show ye"

Carrot moved towards turning the knob, confident that once he shows who is really out there, the foals' fears will certainly go away, amusing as their worries were. There are no real feral ponies after all.

Apple Bloom knew her house like the back of her hoof for good reason. The farm was always on the verge of some comically timed disaster that sent the Apple family scurrying about like an ant colony that had the hill kicked over. And one of the most common problems as they responded was that they never seemed to have the right tool for the job, so it was only natural that they relocate a set of simple tools to the barn. It wasn't going to be enough for all situations, but it was better than running out with pots and pans which had been Apple Bloom's foal-hood response to family emergencies. Using a wrench turned out to be a better idea that trying to hammer out a solution, often times literally, with a pot. It also didn't get a foal in trouble.

The tools were located in Big Mac's room, which Apple Bloom had more than a passing familiarity with. She grabbed the bag of tools and hoisted it on her back with all the strength she could muster and with even greater haste rushed down the stairs. If they could board up all the windows, undo all the locks, and close up all the windows, they'd be safe from the feral ponies. Sure that'd mean they would be trapped inside, but they had enough provisions and sooner or later her siblings would come home and save them. Or the townspeople would wonder what happened to the Crusaders and Fields. They had the food to survive it and they had the will- now she just had to ensure the barn could take it. Poor Bertha had so many incarnations!

"Ah fou-" She started as she leaped the last few steps, falling incorrectly and tumbling, the tools spilling out along the way. Thankfully, she rolled back up immediately, "and naw-" and that was when she saw Carrot do the worst possible thing: try to open the door.

Had he gone mad?! Obviously he had. Maybe he was so stricken by fear that he felt some coltish need to face it head-on, but Apple Bloom had no desire to be taken by the feral ponies away to live in the Everfree. Or be eaten! Sure he hadn't said they would eat little ponies, but they'd have to find some use for Scootaloo, right?

"Carrot, are you CRAZY?!" She bellowed rhetorically without wanting an answer; she promptly leapt from her position in a karate stance and kicked him across the face, hoping to knock him away from that door! She connected with a thick crack and promptly fell on her back, not waiting to see her results before turning back on her belly and looking at her friends.

"Destroy the locks! do the things! Get the pots and pans and somepony get down ta tha cellar an-" She saw the doorknob start to turn from the outside and launched herself at it, trying to hold it in place as she leaned against the door. It stopped for a second but the feral pony was strong- so strong that despite her efforts it turned some more, the door starting to push in by mere centimeters. Apple Bloom panicked and did the only thing she could: She bit down hard on the doorknob and with her combined efforts it slowed. Now if she could only push it a few centimeters...her tail was slapping around the ground searching for a screwdriver or something small she could jab in the keyhole to not only lock it, but prevent it from being opened- it could always be kicked down of course, but they could always push the cabinet out in front of the door again. If only Carrot hadn't moved it.

He was a madpony!

"Geeeit....meee....tha...scrooodwive..." She mouthed as her teeth strained against the doorknob. They had so much to do and they had to do it fast or they were going to be feral ponies forever!

CUTIE MARK CRUSADER SCREWDRIVER FETCHER!

Scootaloo bolted then! Grabbing the Screwdriver with her mouth she tossed it to AppleBloom "HERE YOU ARE BLOOM! QUICK!" Sure part of Scootaloo knew this was silly but this ..was actually fun!"Mr Carrot quick! Sweetie come on!" She moved and bucked a chair hard to block the door, snatching up some boards and nails, trying to nail the windows shut! It was delicious panic and chaos! Wings beating 90 miles an hour so that her little backside sort of..floated "Hey look! I'm Fly-oOF!"

And with that Scoots lost her focus and her wings stopped, she landed flat on her face with a WHUMP!

"Nopony saw that..."

Sweetie Belle let out a wail as Carrot started sabotaging their defenses! She flung herself forward, her little body wrapping around his hind leg as she cried out, "Nooooooo! No, don't do that, Mister Fields! You're gonna let them in and then we'll all be FERAAAAAL!" As Carrot tried to walk on, her little body dragged over the floor with a scraping noise, her forelegs wrapped desperately around his hoof.

Silly foals; that is what Carrot Fields though, after all it was just a ghost story. Still, he had to admire them, grudgingly, for their efforts in protecting the house from the "intruders", even though he was appalled at some of the lengths they went through and the associate collateral damage. Well they’ll calm as soon as he opens the door and reveals sit is just some local, or more likely, just the wind. That is until Applebloom kicked him across the face!

Carrot stood there stunned… What kind of a foal goes around kicking ponies in the face? Especially adults! Did Applejack know she does this?! It didn’t hurt; it hardly moved his head at all, but just the very notion of striking an adult was something he could never imagine, especially from what otherwise seemed like goodhearted filly from a polite, old-fashioned farming family who prided themselves on hospitality.

Carrot was about the admonish the red maned filly, who had gone so far off the deep end she was eating the door knob, when he was distracted by Scootaloo’s face plant. Carrot momentarily left the door to pick up the embarrassed pegasus filly, “Ooch, ur ye alrecht? hoo did ye trip oan th' fluir?”

At that moment Carrot heard the coughing outside, somepony was out there, stuck in the cold rain! Here they were not letting the poor pony in but trying to keep them out! That wasn’t neighborly, and wouldn’t do at all! “Noo see haur! I’ll prove tae ye ance an' fur aw thaur is naethin' dangerous out thaur.” Carrot started to trot towards the door when Sweetie Belle grabbed his leg, clutching tightly. Carrot though was determined to continue, there was no more point in telling them, he’d have to show them!

Suddenly the force he was dragging became much heavier, causing the ruddy maned stallion to trip up and push against the door with his forehoof to regain his balance, closing it tight again. Carrot looked back only to find Sweetie Belle’s hind legs wrapped around one of the legs of a huge oaken coffee table. “Really now, really?”

Bramble gave permission to have me write in Sweetie Belle grabbing the table with her legs.

Apple Bloom dared to let go of the door long enough to catch Scootaloo's incoming gift but still couldn't catch it in the half second it took, the screwdrive flying through her hooves and cracking against her shoulder dully before clacking to the floor in a clickety manner. She couldn't risk any more time and threw herself against the door, her sore teeth resuming their desperater bid to keep them non-feral for as long as possible. But it was to no avail- the ferals were stronger, and the door was slowly being pushed open as the evil neighing erupted. Oh no! She ddn't WANT to become a feral pony! Of all the nights for Applejack and Big Mac to be gone it was the one time they really needed to be here to save her cutie patootie from some major harm. Despite all of her efforts the door was a mere moment from being open and crazy Carrot Fields wasn't helping matters much, fool wanted to open the door! Well, maybe he didn't want to stay a non-feral pony as much as Apple Bloom because she wanted to see Applejack again, and NOT on a dinner plate!

Swift-thinking Sweetie Belle tripped him up, and he slammed into the door! It closed tight and she saw her brief, brief window open up and by gpolly she took it. Apple Bloom swiftly reached down, grabbed the screwdriver, and jammed it into the lock. A few harsh and unforgiving turns and pushes and pulls later, and they were the proud owners of a thoroughly locked door with an equally thoroughly broken lock! Apple Bloom staggered back, a delirious smile infecting her face.

"We did it! We closed that door off!" She hugged Scootaloo tight, patting her on the back and not even noticing the fall incident as she gazed around and saw a few half-closed up windows.

"You have one heck of a start on the windows, Scootaloo! Why, Ah bet you could get a cutie mark in window barring!"

The door seemed to have something wrong with it. Occasionally, it would be stuck, or locked from the inside in error. Even though Applejack thought it was strangely annoying that Carrot and the kids weren't opening the door for her, she figured that any issue would be easily solved by attempt to hit into the window next to the door. Applejack had done it several times when the door needed unlocking from the inside.

Applejack shuffled her tired wet body towards the barn window. When suddenly, she slipped and fell into a generous puddle of mud. The spot in front of the window was well soiled for decerative flowers and plants, but in a downpour the area is very wet, making it impossbile to avoid in conquest of the window. Fortunately, Applejack wasn't hurt, but her four hooves and body were covered in mud. "Ugh." Applejack grunted, starting to get more annoyed at her pradicament.

At the window, she got up, and from the outside she cracked open the window. As soon as it was wide enough, she stuck her foreleg inside and start swiping for the locks with her hoof. Her enitre leg exposed inside was covered with dark brown mud with the occasional garnishing of green grass, emerald from the potency of the rain. Before she could grab anything, she sneezed again. This time, however, she exhaled the explosion twice in a row.

Sweetie Belle gasped and recoiled as she saw the ... the ... LEG fumbling throught he window! She opened and closed her mouth several times, then let out a high-pitched, ear-piercing shriek. And one of Sweetie's strongest merits was that she had quite a set of pipes on her!

"Mister Fields, what are you DOING?! Stop trying to open the door, it's like you -"

...

"Oh my gosh, the feral ponies are MIND CONTROLLING Mister Fields!" she cried out, her voice cracking in her fear! "Oh no, oh no, what do we do?" She frantically pranced in place, her eyes wide, frantically looking around -

And then her eyes lit on some rope in the tool chest. She grabbed it up, stretched it between her teeth and one hoof. "We haffa protec' him from himfelf!" she said determinedly, stepping forward towards Carrot! "Comon, Girlf!"

The Hug came out of left field and Scootaloo felt her cheeks go hot at the hug from her best friend "Um..Yeah thanks AppleBloom! Pretty Pro huh?" She asked before grinning and hugged her friend back , before pulling away "Cmon AppleBloom we gotta fend off feral ponies!" She exclaimed, moving to stand with her back straight, fluttering her wings, in her mind Rainbow Dash would be standing JUST like this when she declared something! But then.. "AAAHHH FERAL PONY HOOF!" She yelled, pointing at the muddy brown hoof that was clawing for the door! "SOMEPONY DO SOMETHING QUICK BEFORE IT COMES IN HERE AND EATS US!"

Scootaloo quickly started to browse for something to swat back the hoof of horror! Finding the fly swatter and bolted over, starting to swat at the hoof, holding the swatter in her mouth "BCK! BCK!" She exclaimed through a mouthful of fly swatter.

Mind control! Mind control! It wasn't one of the powers given to the feral ponies in the story they were told, but that was a long time ago and who knew what sort of evil powers they had now. The Everfree was a topsy turvy land and they could have turned dozens of unicorns into ferals and taken all of their power to create all sorts of new power and AHHHH! Poor Carrot was totally mind controlled! And to compound the problem, the ferals were sticking their gross hooves through the window, trying to snatch the fillies away! And Carrot was going to HELP THEM TAKE APPLE BLOOM AWAY AND SHE DIDN'T WANT TO BECOME A FERAL PONY THAT NEVER GOT A CUTIE MARK AHHHHHHHHH!

Sweetie Belle had the right idea, taking the rope and with ill intent targeting Carrot. Meanwhile, Scootaloo was bravely fighting the feral ponies with a fly swatter. Bravely, not intelligently.

"Go get 'em!" Apple Bloom yelled encouragement to her feathered friend as she took one end of the rope with Sweetie Belle and nodded silently. Then she eyed Carrot, and charged!

Carrot Fields quickly regained his footing, unfortunately now that he accidentally shut the door tight, it was stuck that way, thanks to Applebloom's mangling of the door knob; nothing would get that door open outside a good bucking.

The ruddy maned stallion sighed, things were getting out of control. Again! "Please, Sweetie Belle, lit go ay mah leg an' th' table, Ah am…." Before he could finish his request, the little unicorn let go only to exclaim he was possessed by the very monsters in his very made up ghost story. "Sweetie Belle, Th' feral ponies is jist an auld mare's tale frae Fet Loch, they're nae real, alrecht?" Somehow he got the impression she didn't hear him. This was getting ridiculous, he was trying to be calm and understanding but it wasn't working!

Carrot closed his eyes and started to count to ten, he managed only to get to three when he heard a loud swatting noise. It was Scootaloo, whacking at something at the window, probably some poor animal! This had gone far enough! "Scootaloo! Stop 'at reit noo! Whit th' hay ur ye daein'!!?"

Carrot started to gallop over to where the little orange filly was but suddenly found himself tripped up by something. The next thing stumbling stallion knew he was falling towards to floor, banging his head on the table which Scootaloo stood on. what a time to be a klutz!

Everything was just dark clouds and swirls and he tried to focus.

Applejack felt something hitting her hoof lightly. She could easily see inside, since there was more light inside than out, and she could see Scootaloo swinging a flyswatter at her. Oh, she thought, maybe Scoot's is trying to help me by giving me the flyswatter to unlock the door. Applejack reached around the flyswatter, and grabbed it from Scootaloo, and commenced trying to open the lock by swatting at it. But it was useless. Something had jammed the lock, and she couldn't unlock it.

And then, Applejack came to noticing something funny. Wait, why doesn't Scootaloo just open the door for me? Applejack then lit up like a light bulb. And why is Scootaloo even here!? That little runt brought her friends over while she was grounded. I'm gonna, I'm gonna... "Ugh!" Applejack neighed as she pulled her hoof violently out of the window.

She walked over to the apple cellar and opened the door to walk down inside it. The cellar was an underground storage space for the apple family to keep its goods in preserving conditions. It led to the yard for easy access, but it also served as another way in to the barn-house. The cellar entrance inside was a trap door in the kitchen. Applejack walked through the dark cellar and she tried to find her way to the closest candle.

Sweetie Belle brushed off her hooves, looking down at their foalsitter. Just in time, he seemed to be coming around - and by now, he was really more resembling a mummy than anything else, wrapped around with enough rope that only his head was sticking out above all the knots and coils. Wait, would that even work? She pondered over it a moment, then turned to Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. "If you tie up a mummy, does it even notice? I mean, they're tied up all the time!"

Momentarily forgotten was the Ferals, that they were tying up their foalsitter, and all the rest of it.

But then she remembered, as she saw Scootaloo swatting at that nasty, muddy, filthy hoof! Oh no, oh no! What to do? The Feral let out a fierce growly sort of a grunt, and disappeared... Sweetie held up her hoof to her muzzle. "Shhhhh," she said, peeking through the boards nailed up to the windows, following the Feral pony around the house.. "Apple Bloom!" she whispered, "What's that? Where'd it disappear to?"

OOC- Skipping Scootaloo

AppleBloomATTEMPT3final.png

As Sweetie wrapped the half-mad foalsitter up in rope, Apple Bloom couldn't even imagine that just a short while ago he had been the one in charge. Did the feral ponies have other powers he didn't know aboout? Maybe they had mind powers that could turn older ponies against their friends and fellows and helo the ferals take them all away! Or maybe he was just so scared by the ferals that his mind flew away like an overexcited pegasus before an Everfree storm. Poor fella- it was good that Sweetie was tying him up all nice and cozy in rope. Though that did make her friend think of mummies and as unusual a question as it was, Apple Bloom's mind couldn't help but go over it. On one hoof, it was always wrapped up in some way. On the other, ropes were far more itchy and painful than whatever a mummy was normally wrapped in.

"Hmm, well, Ah think mummies are supposed to be like undead or somethin', so probably not. But..." She nudged Carrot and yelled, "CAN YOU FEEL THE ROPES?" She turned back to Sweetie, "Ah mean, he isn't a mummy but Ah don't know anypony else who is tied up. Well, right now anyway," She finished, tracking the ferals alongside Sweetie. They moved with alarming intelligence once Scootaloo bravely swatted them away. They eventually vanished from view, but a few moments later Apple Bloom could hear sounds from below...OH NO!

"Oh Celestia, the cellar!" Apple Bloom belted out, looking around for anything they could use to bolt the trap door in the kitchen.

"This trap door leads ta the cellar!" Apple Bloom informed the others, tossing a rug off of it and against a wall, sending a jar of honey crashing to the ground. A simple sturdy trap door was revealed, with two iron hoofholds.

"We need ta close it down, then...err, let's focus on closing this, first..." She stopped mid-sentence, her ears picking up the sounds of heavy rummaging below. The ferals didn't have super night vision, which was a good think because the cellar was super dark. But once they found a candle it'd only be a few moments until they got through- time was running out!

Carrot Fields' unfocused mind just swirled in a sea of stars and singing birds, and for several seconds he had no idea where he was or what he was doing. Only when Applebloom decided to check on him by yelling right into his ear was the ruddy maned stallion jarred back into reality, her words ringing in his head. "What?! What ro-" Carrot tried to stand up and promptly fell forward onto his chin, trapped in the mass of knotted rope. "Whit th' hay?! hoo did thes happen?!" Carrot just sighed, "girls, wa am Ah aw tied up?"

Unfortunately, Carrot didn't get an answer to his ever-so-reasonable question as the troublesome trio hurried off into the kitchen, to the chorus of a some smashing jars! "Applebloom, what the hay are ye doin'?" Carrot squirmed and wriggled like an inchworm, slowly hurrying as fast as he could, inch by inch across the living room floor towards the kitchen. "Girls, ye hie on back o'er here!"
