I think Gilda's also best as some kind of support player too rather than a part of core team. She'd have her own agenda rather than sticking as a part of any one team. Heh. Maybe she'd even support both teams.... I think I have some characters who could maybe participate as potential Location specifics as well:Radiant Steel - location specific to Canterlot. An inexperienced but dedicated REA guardsmare who works at Canterlot castle. Could get involved in adventure easily, especially if Davroth's Seeker is a part of a core group, as they already share a strong bond.Lady Luck - location specific to Painted Pinto region. Roving outlaw calling the Western region her home. Been known to succumb to the call of adventure if she sees a profit in it.Serendipity - location specific to Roughrider Ridge (south ridge/Las Pegasus area). Egotistical and vain pegasus mare dealing cards at a casino in Las Pegasus. Known to jump at the first site of excitement.Midnight Brand - location specific to Roughrider Ridge (central ridge/mountains). Quiet, tactful former soldier and current mountain hermit, adventurer and mother of a young filly. Willing to help others in need, especially if she's paid for it.Arcana - location specific to Everfree (and potentially others). Seeker of ancient magic with underhanded goals and methods. Could prove to be an obstacle in search of one of the same artifacts as a group.Vivid Flair - location specific to Manehattan. A head engineer working for NSI. Moonlights as the Noble Flare, self appointed guardian of Manehattan and bane of any up to no good using gadgetry she's invented.Sierra - location specific to Badlands or Roughrider Ridge (north ridge/Beakbreak area). Pony raised dragon living in Beakbreak, working as an explorer. A natural hire for anypony intent on venturing off into dragon controlled Northern lands.Rarity - location specific to Ponyville. The most fabulous mare ever. Could show up with other mane six ponies or on her own if Pathfinder is need of a pretty dress to wear on her next date with Snowfall. He's centred out of the Gallopocus Islands, and knows her bays and coves like the back of his hooves, If you need a ship at any point, you can charter his and I'll be happy to provide transport for the teams anywhere along Equestria's coast, even out to Unyasi.Muggo' Ale, out of Fillydelphia, could make for a good support character. He runs a bar with a many characters that come through his doors. Could help provide rumours and information, as well as supplies for the journey.In much the same capacity as Bowsprit, Wind Rider is based in Hoofington, and as the forest ranger for the general area around it, can be used to help guide the team through the forests and along the coast.Whichever character you think would be more of a help can be added to the list. Yet like any good group they disguise their intentions, even play the part of some club or legitimate organization.Perhaps a club for the high class that fund expeditions and research or a museum, or perhaps an university.On artifacts, perhaps the Grimoire of the late Nexus Dark a stallion that had tried using dark magic to take over Equestria but was stopped by the princesses before the time of Nightmare Moon. Take a wild guess as to what this relic is based off of....(Villian) General Pummel: A honorable high-ranking officer in Equestria's Honor Guard, Pummel takes all percieved threats to Equestria's harmony seriously. As an admirer of the Griffin military, the general has associated in the past with a couple of his opposite numbers in Aquellia, who recently suffered disgrace due to an embarrassing incident. Should these ex-griffin officers suck up their pride, they will find General Pummel to be a valuable ally, just as long as he won't have to betray Princess & Country.------I might come up with more later. The tough thing about relics is placing them in history- they have to be vague. Here are what we have so far:Iris of Immortality- A flower said to grant immortality, given to a prince stricken by an illness by his jealous older brother, to remain in stasis until the disease could be cured and free him from pain.The Saxon Staff- A staff said to flow with unlimited magical power, made by the same brother who poisoned the prince above. The staff was swiftly relieved from him, but went missing soon after and is rumored to be in the same facility as the Iris, powering it.Remember that everything we have will eventually fit together- not necessarily in terms of backstory, but in creating the Staff of Fate. According to legends, a paranoid princess used the Orb to gaze at anything and anypony from afar to detect signs of rebellion... that was until she ond day vanished, and the Orb with her.(Villian) Merlot: Hailing from a prominent family of grape farmers (hence his name), this smoothly-dressed archaeologist obtains antiquities and sells them to private collectors. When not getting his hooves dirty (which is rare, since he uses other ponies to do his dirty work), Merlot can be seen enjoying the pleasures of high-society life. While many do-gooder treasure hunters revile the stallion, Merlot sees such ponies as careless hypocrites whose methods needlessly damage archaeologial sites. The staff's wielder may channel the power of the Orb when in the Claw's grip so that its user may seek out other beings and send them what they will, whether it aids the target or hinders them. The Ruby Claw is said to have come from a tyrannical Griffon king who imprisoned unicorns and forced them to enchant his artifact. When he was overthrown, the Claw disappeared into the annals of history.(Villain) ...I'll get back to you on that one. Does it need to be an approved character or one made up just for this RP?
