The Crystal Empire is an ancient and cultured civilization, its age possibly extending back to pre-Equestrian times. Although much is unknown about the Crystal Empire and its denizens, one thing that we do know is the strong value they place on the arts, culture, and history.

So much value that they have dedicated an entire district of their city to the creation of art and the expansion of culture. The Arts District is one of the city’s larger districts, filled with art studios, shops, small restaurants, and even the massive Library. The district feels vibrant and alive, bustling with activity as hundreds of Crystal Ponies (as well as Equestrian visitors, due to the reappearance of the Empire in greater Equestria) socialize, relax, and enjoy the various sites and sounds. Statues and other decorations fill this scenic district.

In addition to shops and studios dedicated to the applied arts (such as painting or sculpture), the district is also a place of performance and entertainment. Theaters are located in this district for plays and musical performances, and street performers are scattered across the district, entertaining ponies as they pass by. If you are looking for entertainment of any sort – be it music, dance, theater, or even more exotic than that, you are bound to find it in the Arts District, either in a professional theater or on the street, and are guaranteed to not be disappointed.

The district itself is shaped like a large triangle, with the tip at the Crystal Palace and extending outward all the way to the border of the city, making it one of the largest districts in the Empire. Unlike some of the other districts in the city, this district is not strictly organized, and many of the buildings seem to be randomly placed in increasingly confusing and winding streets rather than neat blocks. The vast majority of the buildings in the district were themselves were art projects by aspiring architects, so even the buildings are quite a sight to behold for the intrepid newcomer.
