DISCLAIMER: This is the WoE version of an OC I developed for CC.

Roleplay Type: WoE

Name: Prof. Morianna Razorclaw

Gender: Female

Age: Elderly

Species: Griffon

Eye color: Red

Character color: Morianna's head is covered in pale gray feathers, her fur is white, and her wings are a dark shade of black.

Mane/Tail/Other: A double crest of slate black feathers crowns the griffon's head in the manner of a Harpy Eagle, while her tail is like that of a lion's. Morianna's beak is the same slate black color as her crest.

Physique: Prof. Razorclaw is noticeably taller than most griffons, although her body is only of average bulkiness. Despite her advanced age, constant physical activity and Aqueliia's best medical care prevent Morianna's body from going frail.

Residence: Talonopolis

Occupation: Honorary Professor of Foreign Affairs at the Aquellia Academy, self-appointed representative of the Razorclaw family.

Unique Traits: The elderly Razorclaw is rarely seen not wearing her usual attire; a fancy blue coat accompanied by a white cravat. The griffoness also keeps a well-polished wood cane with a silver handle with her at all times, despite the fact that she is in no way infirm. While her look is old-fashioned, Morianna believes such a fashion statement emphasizes the noble majesty and prestigious history of the powerful Razorclaw family.

History: A daughter of the proud Razorclaw family of Aquellia, young Morianna enjoyed a life of immense wealth and privilege in Talonopolis. The chick had a sharp mind even at an early age; once her cognitive abilities developed sufficiently, she didn’t take long to figure out that her family was the most politically and militarily powerful of the three dominant families within the griffon nation. Putting her genius level intellect to work, the budding griffoness sought out knowledge concerning every manner of political subject, foreign policy grabbing her interest the most. Morianna’s interests pleased her family very much so, and so they hired the most gifted political scientists in Aquellia they could obtain to be the chick’s tutors.

Believing herself superior over everyone else in her age group, Miss Razorclaw only associated with griffons her age as much as she deemed fit to increase her own popularity, and she felt no shame over bullying those she deemed annoying. Despite her lack of friends, Morianna excelled spectacularly in her studies, and the griffoness went on to graduate summa cum laude from the Aquellia Academy’s Foreign Affairs program. And even before earning her degree, the griffoness was already earning work experience in Aquellia’s foreign ministry offices in Talonopolis, learning firsthand the art of promoting her nation’s interests abroad.

As the griffoness advanced in age, so did her prominence in the Razorclaw family and publicly in Aquellia. For her devoted service to the public good, Morianna’s alma mater awarded her with a honorary doctorate…and the privilege to lecture at the Academy and address herself as Professor Morianna Razorclaw. The feisty professor also devoted more of her time towards influencing the affairs of her own clan. Through sheer force of will and her insistence to represent her family in all public and private occasions, the elderly Prof. Razorclaw now acts as a de facto matriarch for her kin, although plenty of other Razorclaws may argue otherwise. For the time being however, only Morianna believes that she has what it takes to lead the Razorclaw family to further greatness.....

Character Summary:

To most people, Prof. Razorclaw is most famous for her incendiary lectures and editorials about political philosophy. At their core, Morianna’s teachings chastise governments who honor foolhardy idealism before sensible pragmaticism, and they all too frequently call out Equestria as a poor model of how to run a kingdom. The professor is more than happy to engage in debates to argue her views… and to break every rule of debating in order to achieve an unquestionably-decisive victory. In her mind, the most articulate and outspoken voice always prevails over the inferior rule-abiding side.

Morianna Razorclaw deals with her fellow griffons and other people in a cold, calculated manner. It is not the professor’s policy to provide anyone with any tiny tidbit of warmth and kindness; in nearly all dealings, she acts with anywhere between a strict solemn formality and a seething anger depending on her mood. In every aspect of her life, Morianna must maintain a state of absolute perfection through meticulous organization and the achievement of her goals as planned; when things don’t go her way at all, the griffoness can be provoked into a livid fury. Once the griffoness calms down, she’ll then rationalize unfortunate events as the result of incompetence from other griffons and not from her own errors, thus re-establishing her internal vision of perfection.

Having never spent any time towards finding someone to love or befriend, the professor channels her nurturing desires towards her nieces and nephews in her clan. Morianna takes it upon herself to mentor the next generation of Razorclaws towards promising political and military careers. In addition, she’s also more than willing to personally instruct offspring of the two other ruling families of Aquellia; the Goldplumes and the Silverbeaks. Prof. Razorclaw does not want to leave the fate of her beloved republic to chance; by imposing her philosophies upon them, she can rest easy knowing that in time they’ll also become avatars of perfection.

When she has time to spare, Morianna pursues the growth of her vast personal collection of priceless art and exotic wildlife. Like other elite-minded people, Prof. Razorclaw views the ownership of such things as an indisputable mark of prestige, and will go through any lengths to acquire more. Unlike most griffons, the professor insists on eating a meat-rich diet; she believes that those who rely on grains for substance betray the true predatory nature of the griffon species. Strangely, Morianna for all her mental acumen despises the game of chess, believing it to be nothing more than a pastime enjoyed by those too weak-willed to ignore inconvenient rules and achieve true genius.

One last thing: Morianna always insists on being addressed as “Professor”. Failure to do so will result in a fierce chastisement.
