History: His parents are great parents who care for each other and the rest of the family. His father is a model who has a hobby of painting. His mother is a magic healer and potion maker (a specialty like a specialist type of doctor). They are both wealthy. The wealth coming from a mixture of sources. Part if it they both inherited it. Also smart business investments that some ancestors and both his parents did. Also some family members have done stuff like buying an earth pony farm if they are on hard times, keeping them on as employees with part of the contract being they can buy their farm back once the dry times, bad luck times, are over, doing some more scientific farming methods (known for the time) with some alchemy added in here and there.

He has an older brother and a younger sister. They were all home schooled with a mix of teachers, including a pegasus and an earth pony, usually the teacher was a unicorn. This meant that they could occasionally go on location with his father on some of his shoots. Also each could progress at their own rate and teaching could be customized as needed. He was fairly outgoing and had some friends growing up. Most of which are still his friends today.

He liked to read books. He looks in his family's library, found some on clockwork and music boxes. some of these were about music boxes from the recent past. Some were basic diagrams on how simple music boxes and watches were made. His father had a mild interest in them, and his grandfather liks to repair and clean watches.

He reads them. Notices his mother's music box doesn't work anymore. Looking in the books he found one that talked about similar music boxes. He asks her if he can take a look at it since it no longer works. she is a bit hesitant but since it no longer works figured why not let him try and his father mentions he'll buy her another music box. she likes music boxes and he does also.

Feeling apprehension, a book opened in front of him he decided to slowly try to get his mother's music box working, if it was at all possible. 1 step at a time. He used the book's references the book extra times just to be extra sure. He made a drawing of each piece and what it connected to. Also he made sure as he took each piece out to keep them in a line so he could simply reverse it to put them back together. He found he liked doing this.

As he took each piece off he also cleaned it as best as he could. Unbending a few that looked like they should not be bent based on the drawings and pictures in the book and the design. After he had disassembled it he started to slowly put them back together, adding lubrication to the pieces that needed to be lubricated. He also fixed the spring. He found he enjoyed doing this. He tested the music box and found his mother's music box worked again once he wound it up. He briefly rested, cleaning up the mess he made first. Then when he took his mother her music box to show that it worked she was extremely happy and thanked him, pointing out that he had his cutie mark now. In his work he had not noticed he had gotten it.

He has cousins living in Ponyville. His cousin's parents wanted to raise their kids in Ponyville rather then Canterlot. His family vists them a few times throughout the year, and they visit in return. He likes both cities. He got a small house in Ponyville so he would have his own house when he visited or went there for a few days or longer, or one of his family did. He likes to come here at times to get away from Canterlot, as well as having more quiet to work on some projects, have some more quiet fun like reading, drawing plans, ect.

One day while he was in Ponyville he saw tank flying and thought why not make one of those things for myself? But with a minor modification.

Character Summary:

Hobbies: he's done a bit of modeling now and then. When he was younger and a few times with his father. He sees it as a somewhat fun, but it is a lot of bother one has to do to be a full time model. He's also does backup rhythm singing for his older brother's band. His brother is the primary singer. He has taking singing lessons alongside his brother. He does enjoy this, letting his brother be the primary singer while he does the rhythm singing. Instead of being a main singer alongside his brother. Though for some songs he has done co primary singer, though not the majority of the time.

He also enjoys building music boxes more then watches, but those can be fun also. He also draws ideas for other sorts of clockwork devices. He enjoys repairing clockwork more then other types of mechanical, except for some like record players, player piano. Though since he doesn't have to work to get money to live he does this more as what he wants when he wants instead of having to do drudgery work day after day.

He also likes to read super pony and action comic books, like the power ponies. As well as occasional fictional books, more towards action type books like the Darring Doo books.

He owns his own train car as well. Part of one of the perks of not only being wealthy, but also in a band as well.

Gear he often has on him:

whirligig: wears on back. metal shaft that can fold against his back. It Has propellers that let him fly. Is powered by his magic. He can fly for less then an hour, depending on speed, and other factors. Not anywhere as maneuverable as a pegasus of his age. It telescopes out when upright so the propellers are above his head. (based on what Rainbow Dash's pet Tank wears in some episodes that lets him fly).

He often wears in-line skates. Often wears a vest with many pockets, or saddlebags. When he is working he wears a type of glasses with flip up magnifying lenses. On him he often carries a magnifying monocle or small pocket magnifying glass. Some small basic tools, pocket watch, small telescope (like a spyglass), goggles (worn often when he uses his whirligig to fly),

Spells: basic minor ones like light and manipulate, he can also clean, maybe some other minor stuff of this ilk. Also he can power his whirligig with his own magic. Some spells his brother taught him, like changing the color of his light spell in tune with his singing, a spell to be sure his voice can be heard over a larger area when the band plays.

The whirlgig is based on the thing that Tank wears as seen in various episodes:

I'm a bit stuck on how to edit the character. Do you have any suggestions?

At a glance, one thing I can suggest is instead of dividing your history out into sections, you should try to combine it all so it flows better. Writing a few well developed paragraphs will give a much clearer and more complete picture of your character's history, I think.

If you feel you need to flesh things out some more, read over what you've written, and ask questions about the events you've written about. Why are these things important to your character? How did something make them feel? If the answers to these questions are relevant information to people RPing with your character, find a way to incorporate them into your application! If you're having trouble with this, you can always ask someone who knows nothing about your character to read over it as well, and have them ask these kinds of questions afterward.

Hi there!

Taking a look at this app, there's much to like here! The character's quite unique and all of the required fields are filled.

However, the cutie mark story is entirely too brief, it needs some expansion, more details about the events leading up to the cutie mark being earned.

This app is very close to acceptable, just needs a little more work.
