Tall Tale Town

Tall Tale Town was founded in Equestria at the southern stretch of the Eponnine Mountain range right around the same time as the Discord Era, or at least, that is where the records begin for the village. It started off as just a small woodland area that took pride in the forest that they lived in and the mountains that protected them from the east.  Because of that they weren’t too well known for a while, and in fact Tall Tale Town wasn’t always the name of the small village. When the village was first founded, it was founded under the name Equinedale. However, as time passed on through Equinedale, an old story began to flourish about the foal shaped mountain next to it. The story of Foal Mountain.

Many of these archeologists and other brave adventuring ponies came to unveil some of it's secrets, but were unsuccessful. The had begun calling Equinedale “Tall Tale Town” as a result of their findings. Over time, the name started becoming more predominant, until Equinedale was almost completely fazed out of the town right before the end of the Discord Era of Equestria. However, many citizens of what is now Tall Tale Town still proclaim that there is some sort of buried treasure hidden inside that mountain. Few still seek to find this treasure to prove the neigh-sayers wrong and restore their old name.

Because of this, Tall Tale town has a very tourist driven economy. Most of the businesses that you will find in the area is lodging, high quality restaurants, and tour guides with some supply stores here and there. A majority of the ponies that come through are those who just want to spend time on the mountain either hiking, camping, or going on one of the many tours that they offer.

Of course, since Tall Tale Town is located in the midst of a forest, and the base of a mountain, one could expect that space would be limited and the climate can be brutal. To keep the forest healthy, the weather team must frequently create torrential rains. Because of this, The roads in Tall Tale Town are paved with concrete as to provide a solid walking surface for it's travelers and residents. That said, on the sunny days the forest itself can be quite beautiful and many ponies will spend the nice weather outside exploring the forest in search of herbs and flowers.

Since space is limited, they've had to conserve space through building as much as possible. This leads to many buildings being multiple stories tall to provide living accommodations as well as lodging quarters for the tourists that have traveled to the village to see the mountain that they reside next to. The largest being The Great Cherry Inn located just before the path that lead up to the mountain and to the many different wonders that awaited. The building itself spanned three hoofball fields in length, one in width and was four stories tall with the bottom floor on the north wing being one of the best 5-star restaurants in the region, and the south wing being a general goods store for ponies getting ready to head up the mountain. The Hotel got it's name from being constructed out of pure cherry wood, giving the entire building a deep red hue that was polished to almost a mirror shine.

As for the ponies who didn't feel like going up to the mountain, or for the residents whom have heard enough about the mountain, a small distance away through the eastern and southern parts of the forest would lead them to one of the largest stretches of maintained beaches in Equestria. The Equinedale Beach is famous for having pure white sands that could almost be mistaken as snow, and is now the only part of the village that has maintained it's original name.  Of course, with any beach, it held it's natural supply of dangers. The weather team did it's best to keep the beaches as sunny as possible, but they would have to deal with storms blowing in from outside of Equestria that they had control over.
